Abstract
Organic-inorganic hybrid perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have attracted enormous research attention due to their high efficiency and low cost. However, most of the PSCs with high efficiencies still need expensive organic materials as their hole-transport layer (HTL). Obviously, the highly expensive materials go against the low-cost concept of advanced PSCs. In this regard, inorganic NiO x was considered as an idea HTL due to its good transmittance in the visible region and outstanding chemical stability. But for most of the PSCs with a NiO x HTL, the hole-extraction efficiency was limited by the unmatched valence band and too many surface defects of the NiO x layer, especially for the vacuum-deposited NiO x and perovskite. Herein, we developed a facile strategy to overcome this issue by using self-assembled glycine molecules to treat the NiO x surface. With glycine on the surface, the NiO x exhibited a deeper valence band maximum and a faster charge-extraction at the NiO x /perovskite interface. What's more, the vacuum-deposited perovskite showed a better crystallinity on the NiO x + glycine substrate. As a result, the PSCs with a glycine interfacial layer achieved a champion PCE of 17.96% with negligible hysteresis. This facile approach is expected to be further developed for fabricating high-efficiency PSCs on textured silicon solar cells.

Abstract
Understanding gluon density distributions and how they are modified in nuclei are among the most important goals in nuclear physics. In recent years, diffractive vector meson production measured in ultraperipheral collisions (UPCs) at heavy-ion colliders has provided a new tool for probing the gluon density. In this Letter, we report the first measurement of J/ψ photoproduction off the deuteron in UPCs at the center-of-mass energy sqrt[s_{NN}]=200 GeV in d+Au collisions. The differential cross section as a function of momentum transfer -t is measured. In addition, data with a neutron tagged in the deuteron-going zero-degree calorimeter is investigated for the first time, which is found to be consistent with the expectation of incoherent diffractive scattering at low momentum transfer. Theoretical predictions based on the color glass condensate saturation model and the leading twist approximation nuclear shadowing model are compared with the data quantitatively. A better agreement with the saturation model has been observed. With the current measurement, the results are found to be directly sensitive to the gluon density distribution of the deuteron and the deuteron breakup process, which provides insights into the nuclear gluonic structure.

Abstract
PurposeThe role of allium vegetables or garlic supplements on reducing cancer risk was inconsistent between laboratory study findings and related epidemiologic studies.MethodsStudies assessing the effect of allium vegetables and garlic supplement consumption on cancer risk were included in our meta-analysis. We used fixed- or random-effects models to pool effect measures to evaluate the highest and lowest consumption. A dose-response regression analysis was used to assess the association between allium vegetables, garlic supplements, and cancer risk.ResultsIn a pooled analysis of 22 studies with 25 reports on allium vegetables, a high consumption of allium vegetables showed no significant association with cancer risk (relative risk [RR] = 0.97, 95% confidence interval [CI] 0.92–1.03) in a fixed-effects model. Similarly, garlic supplements were not found to be significantly associated with an increased risk of cancer (RR = 0.97, 95% CI 0.84–1.12) in a random-effects model involving a pooled analysis of 10 studies with 11 reports. Consumption of allium vegetables did not significantly correspond with cancer risk (P for nonlinearity = 0.958, P for linearity = 0.907).ConclusionIn this meta-analysis, we found no evidence that higher consumption of allium vegetables or garlic supplements reduced the risk of cancer; however, this finding requires further validation.Systematic Review Registrationhttps://www.crd.york.ac.uk/prospero/#recordDetails, identifier: CRD42021246947.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the expression levels and clinical significance of glioma-associated oncogene homolog 1 (GLI1) and sonic hedgehog signaling molecule (Shh) in the malignant transformation of ovarian endometriosis (EM). Methods: The expressions of GLI1 and Shh were detected by real-time reverse transcription (RT)-polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and EnVision method in 50 cases of ovarian EM tissues, 35 cases of atypical endometriosis (aEM) and 50 cases of endometriosis-associated ovarian cancer (EAOC). The expression differences of two molecular markers in the malignant transformation of ovarian EM were compared, and the relationships between two molecular markers and the clinicopathological features and prognosis of EAOC were analyzed. Results: (1) RT-PCR showed that the expression levels of GLI1 mRNA in EM, aEM and EAOC group were 1.77±0.40, 3.54±0.44, and 7.80±0.24, respectively. The expression levels of Shh mRNA were 0.95±0.21, 3.14±0.35, and 5.41±0.31, respectively. GLI1 and Shh mRNA in EAOC group were significantly higher than those in EM and aEM group (all P<0.01), and there were statistically significant differences between EM and aEM group (all P<0.01). The percentages of GLI1 in ovarian EM, aEM and EAOC were 32% (16/50), 57% (20/35), and 66% (33/50), respectively, meanwhile, the positive expression rates of Shh were 20% (10/50), 49% (17/35), and 54% (27/50), respectively (all P<0.01). GLI1 mRNA expression was positively correlated with Shh mRNA expression in EAOC tissues (r=0.721, P<0.01). The expressions of GLI1 protein were proportionated to Shh protein in EAOC tissues (r=0.608,P=0.001). (2) The expression of GLI1 was significantly related to the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) stage, cancer antigen 125 (CA125) levels, lymph node metastasis, and Platinum resistance in EAOC patients (all P<0.05). The expression of Shh were related to FIGO stage and lymph node metastasis in EAOC patients (all P<0.05). Logistic regression analysis showed that GLI1 expression was an independent risk factor for poor prognosis in EAOC patients (P<0.05). Kaplan-meier survival analysis showed that the overall survival rate of EAOC patients with high GLI1 expression and low GLI1 expression was 12.1% and 35.3%, respectively, with statistical significance (χ²=10.73, P<0.01). The overall survival rate of EAOC patients with high and low expression of Shh protein was 11.1% and 30.4%, in which there was statistically significant difference (χ²=3.96, P=0.047). Conclusion: GLI1 and Shh are highly associated with the malignant transformation of ovarian EM, which may play a role in promoting malignant degeneration of ovarian EM, and the high expression of GLI1 and Shh indicates a poor prognosis in EAOC patients.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the association of blood lead and blood selenium with serum high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) among Chinese adults aged 19 to 79 years. Methods: The participants were enrolled from the first wave of China National Human Biomonitoring (CNHBM) conducted from 2017 to 2018. 10 153 participants aged 19 to 79 years were included in this study. Fasting blood samples were obtained from participants. Lead and selenium in whole blood and hs-CRP in serum were measured. Individuals with hs-CRP levels above 3.0 mg/L were defined as elevated hs-CRP. Generalized linear mixed models and restricted cubic spline models were used to analyze the association of blood lead and blood selenium with elevated hs-CRP. Logistic regression models were used to analyze the multiplicative scale and additive scale interaction between blood lead and blood selenium on elevated hs-CRP. Results: The age of participants was (48.91±15.38) years, of which 5 054 (61.47%) were male. 1 181 (11.29%) participants were defined as elevated hs-CRP. After multivariable adjustment, results from generalized linear models showed that compared with participants with the lowest quartile of blood lead, the OR (95%CI) of elevated hs-CRP for participants with the second, third, and highest quartiles were 1.14 (0.94-1.37), 1.25 (1.04-1.52) and 1.38 (1.13-1.68), respectively. When compared with participants with the lowest quartile of blood selenium, the OR (95%CI) of elevated hs-CRP for participants with the second, third and highest quartiles were 0.86 (0.72-1.04), 0.91 (0.76-1.11), and 0.75 (0.61-0.92), respectively. Results from the interaction analysis showed no significant interaction between lead and selenium on elevated hs-CRP. Conclusion: Blood concentration of lead was positively associated with elevated serum hs-CRP, and blood concentration of selenium was inversely related to elevated hs-CRP, while blood lead and selenium did not present interaction on elevated hs-CRP.

Abstract
Objective: To clarify the molecular basis of patients with Bartter syndrome type I and explore the therapeutic effect of trafficking-defective variations by chemical chaperone 4-Phenylbutyric acid(4-PBA). Methods: The clinical characteristics, laboratory findings and genetic data of 3 patients diagnosed with Bartter syndrome type I who were admitted to Department of Nephrology, Children's Hospital of Nanjing Medical University from 2017 to 2018 were retrospectively analyzed. Wild type and variant SLC12A1 gene constructs were transiently overexpressed in HEK293 cells. Western blotting was used to detect the expression levels of Na+-K+-2Cl-cotransporter(NKCC2) protein. Immunofluorescent staining was applied to investigate the subcellular localization of NKCC2 protein. In addition, the effect of the chemical chaperone 4-PBA on the expression and localization of the SLC12A1 gene variants was investigated. Unpaired t test was used for statistical analysis of 4-PBA treatment. Results: All the 3 patients (2 males and 1 female), aged 3.0, 4.0 and 1.2 years, respectively. All patients had antenatal onset with polyhydramnios and were born prematurely. After birth, all patients presented with hypochlorine alkalosis accompanied by hypokalemia and hyponatremia. Sequencing analysis revealed that the 3 patients were homozygotes or compound heterozygotes for variants in the SLC12A1 gene. In HEK293 cells, the surface expression of NKCC2 in 3 variants (p.L463S, p.L479V, p.507-510del) are all lower than in wild type (0.718±0.039, 0.287±0.081, 0.025±0.156 vs. 1.001±0.028, t=5.92, 8.35, 30.49, all P<0.01). Moreover, the total protein expression of p.L479V and p.507-510del group were all lower than that in wild type group (0.630±0.032, 0.043±0.003 vs. 1.000±0.111, t=3.21, 8.65, all P<0.05). 4-PBA treatment increased the mature protein expression level of the p.L463S and p. L479V group in 4-PBA treatment group are all higher than the untreated group (0.459±0.018 vs. 1.123±0.024, 0.053±0.012 vs. 1.256±0.037, t=2.75, 18.35, all P<0.05). Cytoplasmic retention of the L479V and 507-510del variants were observed by immunofluorescent staining. 4-PBA treatment could rescue a number of NKCC2 L479V variants to the membrane. Conclusions: The 3 SLC12A1 variants cause expression or subcellular localization defects of the protein. The findings that plasma membrane expression and activity can be rescued by 4PBA might help to develop novel therapeutic strategy for Bartter syndrome type Ⅰ.

Abstract
Genotype imputation is the term used to describe the process of inferring unobserved genotypes in a sample of individuals. It is a key step prior to a genome-wide association study (GWAS) or genomic prediction. The imputation accuracy will directly influence the results from subsequent analyses. In this simulation-based study, we investigate the accuracy of genotype imputation in relation to some factors characterizing SNP chip or low-coverage whole-genome sequencing (LCWGS) data. The factors included the imputation reference population size, the proportion of target markers /SNP density, the genetic relationship (distance) between the target population and the reference population, and the imputation method. Simulations of genotypes were based on coalescence theory accounting for the demographic history of pigs. A population of simulated founders diverged to produce four separate but related populations of descendants. The genomic data of 20,000 individuals were simulated for a 10-Mb chromosome fragment. Our results showed that the proportion of target markers or SNP density was the most critical factor affecting imputation accuracy under all imputation situations. Compared with Minimac4, Beagle5.1 reproduced higher-accuracy imputed data in most cases, more notably when imputing from the LCWGS data. Compared with SNP chip data, LCWGS provided more accurate genotype imputation. Our findings provided a relatively comprehensive insight into the accuracy of genotype imputation in a realistic population of domestic animals.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the association between urinary arsenic levels and anemia among older adults in nine longevity areas of China. Methods: A total of 1 896 subjects aged 65 years and above who participated in the Healthy Aging and Biomarkers Cohort Study (HABCS) in 2017-2018 were included. A self-made questionnaire was used to collect demographic characteristics, lifestyle and other information from the subjects. Through physical examination, data including height, weight and blood pressure were determined and body mass index (BMI) was calculated. Blood and urine samples were collected for the detection of hemoglobin (Hb), blood glucose, blood lipids, plasma vitamin B12 and urinary arsenic concentrations. The urinary arsenic levels were divided into four groups according to the quartiles of urinary arsenic concentrations (μg/g creatinine): Q1 (<18.7), Q2 (18.7-34.5), Q3 (34.6-69.5) and Q4(≥69.6). Multivariate logistic regression model and restricted cubic spline fitting logistic regression model were used to analyze the association between urinary arsenic levels and anemia. Results: The age of the 1 896 subjects (M (Q1, Q3)) was 83 (74, 92) years, including 952 females (50.21%), and the concentration of Hb (M (Q1, Q3)) was 135 (124, 147)g/L. The prevalence of anemia was 24.89% (472 cases). The geometric mean and M (Q1, Q3) of urinary arsenic concentrations were 37.5 and 34.6 (18.7, 69.6)μg/g creatinine, respectively. Multivariate logistic regression model analysis showed that after adjusting for age, gender, BMI, education level, smoking and drinking status, residence, economic level, ethnicity, the status of vitamin B12 deficiency, consumption frequency of aquatic products and meat, the prevalence of hypertension, diabetes and dyslipidemia, urinary arsenic levels were positively associated with anemia (Taking group Q1 as a reference, OR (95%CI) values in Q2, Q3 and Q4 groups were 1.73 (1.20-2.50), 2.08 (1.43-3.02) and 1.52 (1.02-2.28), respectively). The results of restricted cubic spline fitting logistic regression analysis showed a non-linear association between urinary arsenic concentrations and anemia (P<0.001). Subgroup analysis showed there was a negative multiplicative interaction between the prevalence of chronic diseases and urinary arsenic levels with OR (95%CI) was 0.55 (0.30-0.99), while no multiplicative interaction was found between age, gender, residence, smoking status, drinking status and urinary arsenic levels (P>0.05). There was a positive association between urinary arsenic levels and anemia in participants who were absence of chronic diseases, male, living in rural, smoking and drinking with OR (95%CI) values of 3.62 (1.30-10.06),2.46 (1.34-4.52), 1.70 (1.03-2.80), 2.21 (1.01-4.82) and 2.79 (1.23-6.33), respectively. Conclusion: There is a positive association between urinary arsenic levels and anemia among older adults in nine longevity areas of China.

Abstract
Objective: To construct an easy-to-use risk prediction tool for 6-year risk of activities of daily living(ADL) disability among Chinese elderly aged 65 and above. Methods: A total of 34 349 elderly aged 65 and above were recruited from the Chinese Longitudinal Healthy Longevity Survey. Demographic characteristics, lifestyle and chronic diseases of the elderly were collected through face-to-face interviews. The functional status of the elderly was evaluated by the instrumental activities of daily living(IADL) scale. The mental health status of the elderly was evaluated by the Mini-Mental State Examination. The height, weight, blood pressure and other information of the subjects were obtained through physical examination and body mass index(BMI) was calculated. The ADL status was evaluated by Katz Scale at baseline and follow-up surveys. Taking ADL status as the dependent variable and the key predictors were selected from Lasso regression as the independent variables, a Cox proportional risk regression model was constructed and visualized by the nomogram tool. Area under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUC) and calibration curve were used to evaluate the discrimination and calibration of the model. A total of 200 bootstrap resamples were used for internal validation of the model. Sensitivity analysis was used to evaluate the robustness of the model. Results: The M(Q1, Q3) of subjects' age as 86(75, 94) years old, of which 9 774(46.0%) were males. A total of 112 606 person-years were followed up, 4 578 cases of ADL disability occurred and the incidence density was 40.7/1 000 person-years. The AUC value of the model was 0.853, and the calibration curve showed that the predicted probability was highly consistent with the observed probability. After excluding non-intervening factors(age, sex and ethnicity), the AUC value of the model for predicting the risk of ADL disability was 0.779. The AUC values of 65-74 years old and 75 years old and above were 0.634 and 0.765, respectively. The AUC values of the model based on walking 1 km continuous and taking public transport alone in IADL and the model based on comprehensive score of IADL were 0.853 and 0.851, respectively. Conclusion: The risk prediction model of ADL disability established in this study has good performance and robustness.

Abstract
Background Radiotherapy is widely used in the treatment of tumors. However, while killing tumor cells, radiation may also cause damage to the surrounding normal tissues. Therefore, it is very important to find safe and effective radiation protection agents. Purpose To investgate the radiation protection effect of Lanzhou Lily polysaccharide fragments (LLP). Methods: The crude polysaccharides of Lanzhou Lily were extracted from the dried bulb powder of Lilium lilium by ultrasonic-assisted hot water method, and then five different fragments were separated from the polysaccharides by DEAE-52-cellulose column. The 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyl-2H-tetrazolium bromide assay, neutral comet and immunofluorescent staining were used to investigate the effect of LPe fragment on Human Umbilical Vein Endothelial Cells (HUVEC) survival and the possible radioprotective mechanism. Results The LPe fragment (composing of mannose and glucose, with a ratio of 5.5:2.9, and the average molecular weight is 8629.8 Da), significantly promoted the proliferation of HUVECs and protected cells from X-ray-induced double-strand breaks (DSBs) in DNA, in which pretreatment with the LPe fragment at 100 μg/mL showed the most pronounced protection. In addition, the occurrence of X-ray-induced γH2AX foci was significantly reduced by treatment with the LPe fragment at 50, 100, and 200 μg/mL. Furthermore, caffeine or wortmannin in combination with the LPe fragment at 25 μg/mL significantly reduced the number of X-ray-induced γH2AX foci, indicating phosphoinositide-3 kinases (PI3K) is involved in H2AX phosphorylation in HUVECs. Conclusion These results indicate the LPe fragment has a protective effect against radiation-induced DSBs and may be used as a natural antioxidant agent.

Abstract
We present the precision measurement of the daily proton fluxes in cosmic rays from May 20, 2011 to October 29, 2019 (a total of 2824 days or 114 Bartels rotations) in the rigidity interval from 1 to 100 GV based on 5.5×10^{9} protons collected with the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer aboard the International Space Station. The proton fluxes exhibit variations on multiple timescales. From 2014 to 2018, we observed recurrent flux variations with a period of 27 days. Shorter periods of 9 days and 13.5 days are observed in 2016. The strength of all three periodicities changes with time and rigidity. The rigidity dependence of the 27-day periodicity is different from the rigidity dependences of 9-day and 13.5-day periods. Unexpectedly, the strength of 9-day and 13.5-day periodicities increases with increasing rigidities up to ∼10 GV and ∼20 GV, respectively. Then the strength of the periodicities decreases with increasing rigidity up to 100 GV.

Abstract
Simple Summary Variation exists in muscle-related traits, such as muscle growth and meat quality, between obese and lean pigs. In this study, the transcriptome profiles of skeletal muscle between Beijing Blackand Yorkshire pigs were characterized to explore the molecular mechanism underlying skeletal muscle-relatedtraits. Gene Ontology (GO) and KEGG pathway enrichment analyses showed that differentially expressed mRNAs, lncRNAs, and circRNAs involved in skeletal muscle development and fatty acid metabolism played a key role in the determination of muscle-related traits between different pig breeds. These results provide candidate genes responsible for muscle phenotypic variation and are valuable for pig breeding. Abstract RNA-Seq technology is widely used to analyze global changes in the transcriptome and investigate the influence on relevant phenotypic traits. Beijing Black pigs show differences in growth rate and meat quality compared to western pig breeds. However, the molecular mechanisms responsible for such phenotypic differences remain unknown. In this study, longissimus dorsi muscles from Beijing Black and Yorkshire pigs were used to construct RNA libraries and perform RNA-seq. Significantly different expressions were observed in 1051 mRNAs, 322 lncRNAs, and 82 circRNAs. GO and KEGG pathway annotation showed that differentially expressed mRNAs participated in skeletal muscle development and fatty acid metabolism, which determined the muscle-related traits. To explore the regulatory role of lncRNAs, the cis and trans-target genes were predicted and these lncRNAswere involved in the biological processes related to skeletal muscle development and fatty acid metabolismvia their target genes. CircRNAs play a ceRNA role by binding to miRNAs. Therefore, the potential miRNAs of differentially expressed circRNAs were predicted and interaction networks among circRNAs, miRNAs, and key regulatory mRNAs were constructed to illustrate the function of circRNAs underlying skeletal muscle development and fatty acid metabolism. This study provides new clues for elucidating muscle phenotypic variation in pigs.

Abstract
Two experiments were conducted to study the effect of dietary cottonseed meal (CM) and soybean oil (SO) on passage time of digesta and standardized ileal digestibility (SID) of amino acids (AA). The experimental design was a 2 × 2 factorial arrangement evaluating the levels of CM (20 or 40 %) and SO (0 or 10 %). Experiment 1 estimated the effect of CM and SO on the passage time of digesta. Twenty-five Chinese yellow-feathered roosters (BW = 2.61 ± 0.08 kg; 26-wk-old) were individually weighed and allocated to 5 diets in 5 randomized complete blocks by initial BW. Experimental diet 1 contained 20% CM and 0 SO, diet 2 contained 20% CM and 10% SO, diet 3 contained 40% CM and 0% SO, diet 4 contained 40% CM and 10% SO, and a nitrogen-free diet was also fed. Passage time through the total digestive tract was determined by time-relative cumulation of dry excreta. Experiment 2 estimated the effect of CM and SO on SID of AA in CM. Thirty Chinese yellow-feathered roosters (BW = 2.91 ± 0.05 kg; 26-wk-old) were allocated to the 5 experimental diets in 6 randomized complete blocks by initial BW to determine the SID of AA. Increasing CM concentration significantly reduced the time for 50% relative cumulation of dry excreta (P < 0.05). Adding 10% SO tended to increase the time for 50% relative cumulation of dry excreta (0.05 < P < 0.10) relative to diets without SO. Dietary CM and SO did not affect the SID of indispensable AA or dispensable AA of CM significantly, but increasing dietary CM tended to reduce the SID of Lys (0.05 < P < 0.10). Increasing SO tended to reduce the SID of Met (0.05 < P < 0.10). There were no significant interactive effects of SO and CM (P > 0.10). These results suggest passage time is increased with dietary SO, and reduced with dietary CM, but digestibility of AA in CM was not significantly affected by dietary CM and SO.

Abstract
Objective This study was conducted to identify the functional long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) for swine lactation by RNA-seq data of mammary gland. Methods According to the RNA-seq data of swine mammary gland, we screened lncRNAs, performed differential expression analysis, and confirmed the functional lncRNAs for swine lactation by validation of genome wide association study (GWAS) signals, functional annotation and weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA). Results We totally identified 286 differentially expressed (DE) lncRNAs in mammary gland at different stages from 14 days prior to (-) parturition to day 1 after (+) parturition, and the expressions of most of lncRNAs were strongly changed from day −2 to day +1. Further, the GWAS signals of sow milk ability trait were significantly enriched in DE lncRNAs. Functional annotation revealed that these DE lncRNAs were mainly involved in mammary gland and lactation developing, milk composition metabolism and colostrum function. By performing weighted WGCNA, we identified 7 out of 12 lncRNA-mRNA modules that were highly associated with the mammary gland at day −14, day −2, and day +1, in which, 35 lncRNAs and 319 mRNAs were involved. Conclusion This study suggested that 18 lncRNAs and their 20 target genes were promising candidates for swine parturition and colostrum occurrence processes. Our research provided new insights into lncRNA profiles and their regulating mechanisms from colostrogenesis to lactogenesis in swine.

Abstract
Sow milk production ability is an important limiting factor impacting suboptimal growth and the survival of piglets. Through pig genetic improvement, litter sizes have been increased. Larger litters need more suckling mammary glands, which results in increased milk from the lactating sow. Hence, there is much significance to exploring sow lactation performance. For milk production ability, it is not practical to directly measure the milk yield, we used litter weight gain (LWG) throughout sow lactation as an indicator. In this study, we estimated the heritability of LWG, namely, 0.18 ± 0.07. We then performed a GWAS, and detected seven significant SNPs, namely, Sus scrofa Chromosome (SSC) 2: ASGA0010040 (p = 7.73E-11); SSC2:MARC0029355 (p = 1.30E-08), SSC6: WU_10.2_6_65751151 (p = 1.32E-10), SSC7: MARC0058875 (p = 4.99E-09), SSC10: WU_10.2_10_49571394 (p = 6.79E-08), SSC11: M1GA0014659 (p = 1.19E-07), and SSC15: MARC0042106 (p = 1.16E-07). We performed the distribution of phenotypes corresponding to the genotypes of seven significant SNPs and showed that ASGA0010040, MARC0029355, MARC0058875, WU_10.2_10_49571394, M1GA0014659, and MARC0042106 had extreme phenotypic values that corresponded to the homozygous genotypes, while the intermediate values corresponded to the heterozygous genotypes. We screened for flanking regions ± 200 kb nearby the seven significant SNPs, and identified 38 genes in total. Among them, 28 of the candidates were involved in lactose metabolism, colostrum immunity, milk protein, and milk fat by functional enrichment analysis. Through the combined analysis between 28 candidate genes and transcriptome data of the sow mammary gland, we found nine commons (ANO3, MUC15, DISP3, FBXO6, CLCN6, HLA-DRA, SLA-DRB1, SLA-DQB1, and SLA-DQA1). Furthermore, by comparing the chromosome positions of the candidate genes with the quantitative trait locus (QTLs) as previously reported, a total of 17 genes were found to be within 0.86–94.02 Mb of the reported QTLs for sow milk production ability, in which, NAV2 was found to be located with 0.86 Mb of the QTL region ssc2: 40936355. In conclusion, we identified seven significant SNPs located on SSC2, 6, 7, 10, 11, and 15, and propose 28 candidate genes for the ability to produce milk in Yorkshire pigs, 10 of which were key candidates.

Abstract
The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effects of sulforaphane (SFN) on gefitinib-resistant cell lines with a T790 mutation (PC-9/AB11). The PC-9 and PC-9/AB11 cells were stained with H&E and visualized with a light microscope. The CCK-8 assay method was used to evaluate the antiproliferative activity of gefitinib and SFN on the cells. Cell cycle arrest and apoptosis were analyzed via flow cytometry. The cytotoxic interaction between the two drugs was evaluated in vitro using the combination index method, and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT)-related proteins and alterations in the signaling pathways were determined by Western blot analysis. Compared to the PC-9 cells, the gefitinib-resistant PC-9/AB11 cells acquired a T790M mutation and had characteristics in accordance with EMT. The combination of gefitinib and SFN induced dose-dependent antiproliferative effects in the PC-9 and PC-9/AB11 cells, while both induced cell cycle arrest and cell apoptosis only in the PC-9/AB11 cells. The synergistic effect in the PC-9/AB11 cells was associated with this drug combination, as it caused an expression change of the epithelial (E-cadherin, claudin-1) and matrix proteins (vimentin, N-cadherin) in the cells, related to the reversal of EMT, as well as an expression change of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), p-EGFR, p-AKT, and p-ERK proteins. In this study, SFN overcame T790M-mediated gefitinib resistance in vitro through EMT. Thus, a combination of gefitinib and SFN may be a beneficial treatment strategy for lung cancer patients with acquired resistance due to T790M mutation.

Abstract
Performing laparoscopic myomectomy for an intracervical myoma, especially a single giant myoma, is challenging. Only skilled surgeons attempt this operation. Surgeons frequently encounter cases of massive intraoperative bleeding, difficulty suturing the cervical incision, risk of injuring the neighbouring tissues, haematoma formation and conversion to laparotomy or hysterectomy. We previously developed a the technique of loop ligation of the pseudocapsule and have been using it to treat sizeable intracervical myomas laparoscopically. Its advantages include less blood loss, lower risk of injuries to the neighbouring tissues, maintenance of the cervical canal and sparing of the pseudocapsule. This technique is safe and feasible, and facilitates fertility.

Abstract
Background A run of homozygosity (ROH) is a consecutive tract of homozygous genotypes in an individual that indicates it has inherited the same ancestral haplotype from both parents. Genomic inbreeding can be quantified based on ROH. Genomic regions enriched with ROH may be indicative of selection sweeps and are known as ROH islands. We carried out ROH analyses in five Chinese indigenous sheep breeds; Altay sheep (n = 50 individuals), Large-tailed Han sheep (n = 50), Hulun Buir sheep (n = 150), Short-tailed grassland sheep (n = 150), and Tibetan sheep (n = 50), using genotypes from an Ovine Infinium HD SNP BeadChip. Results A total of 18,288 ROH were identified. The average number of ROH per individual across the five sheep breeds ranged from 39 (Hulun Buir sheep) to 78 (Large-tailed Han sheep) and the average length of ROH ranged from 0.929 Mb (Hulun Buir sheep) to 2.544 Mb (Large-tailed Han sheep). The effective population size (Ne) of Altay sheep, Large-tailed Han sheep, Hulun Buir sheep, Short-tailed grassland sheep and Tibetan sheep were estimated to be 81, 78, 253, 238 and 70 five generations ago. The highest ROH-based inbreeding estimate (FROH) was 0.0808 in Large-tailed Han sheep, whereas the lowest FROH was 0.0148 in Hulun Buir sheep. Furthermore, the highest proportion of long ROH fragments (> 5 Mb) was observed in the Large-tailed Han sheep breed which indicated recent inbreeding. In total, 49 ROH islands (the top 0.1% of the SNPs most commonly observed in ROH) were identified in the five sheep breeds. Three ROH islands were common to all the five sheep breeds, and were located on OAR2: 12.2–12.3 Mb, OAR12: 78.4–79.1 Mb and OAR13: 53.0–53.6 Mb. Three breed-specific ROH islands were observed in Altay sheep (OAR15: 3.4–3.8 Mb), Large-tailed Han sheep (ORA17: 53.5–53.8 Mb) and Tibetan sheep (ORA5:19.8–20.2 Mb). Collectively, the ROH islands harbored 78 unique genes, including 19 genes that have been documented as having associations with tail types, adaptation, growth, body size, reproduction or immune response. Conclusion Different ROH patterns were observed in five Chinese indigenous sheep breeds, which reflected their different population histories. Large-tailed Han sheep had the highest genomic inbreeding coefficients and the highest proportion of long ROH fragments indicating recent inbreeding. Candidate genes in ROH islands could be used to illustrate the genetic characteristics of these five sheep breeds. Our findings contribute to the understanding of genetic diversity and population demography, and help design and implement breeding and conservation strategies for Chinese sheep. A Comparison of the Behavior, Physiology, and Offspring Resilience of Gestating Sows When Raised in a Group Housing System and Individual Stalls. Animals (Basel) 2021; 11:ani11072076. Abstract
Simple Summary The housing patterns of gestating sows affect their health and welfare. In this study, the differences between behavior and stress hormone levels were assessed when sows were housed in a group housing system compared to individual stalls; in addition, the disease resistance and resilience of their piglets were compared. In our investigation, the group-housed sows showed more exploratory behavior, less vacuum chewing, less sitting behavior, and lower stress hormone levels throughout pregnancy. A lipopolysaccharide (LPS) injection test revealed that the offspring of group-housed sows showed better resistance and resilience to disease. Therefore, the gestating sows raised in a group housing system and their piglets are healthier and have improved welfare. Our results show that a group housing system provides higher welfare standards, with conditions that are more suitable for gestating sows in modern pig production. Abstract Being in a confined environment causes chronic stress in gestating sows, which is detrimental for sow health, welfare and, consequently, offspring physiology. This study assessed the health and welfare of gestating sows housed in a group housing system compared to individual gestation stalls. After pregnancy was confirmed, experimental sows were divided randomly into two groups: the group housing system (GS), with the electronic sow feeding (ESF) system; or individual stall (IS). The behavior of sows housed in the GS or IS was then compared; throughout pregnancy, GS sows displayed more exploratory behavior, less vacuum chewing, and less sitting behavior (p < 0.05). IS sows showed higher stress hormone levels than GS sows. In particular, at 41 days of gestation, the concentration of the adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) and adrenaline (A) in IS sows was significantly higher than that of GS sows, and the A level of IS sows remained significantly higher at 71 days of gestation (p < 0.01). The lipopolysaccharide (LPS) test was carried out in the weaned piglets of the studied sows. Compared with the offspring of gestating sows housed in GS (PG) or IS (PS), PG experienced a shorter period of high temperature and showed a quicker return to the normal state (p < 0.05). Additionally, their lower levels of stress hormone (p < 0.01) suggest that PG did not suffer from as much stress as PS. These findings suggested that gestating sows housed in GS were more able to carry out their natural behaviors and, therefore, had lower levels of stress and improved welfare. In addition, PG also showed better disease resistance and resilience. These results will provide a research basis for the welfare and breeding of gestating sows.
