Abstract
Purpose Retinoblastoma (RB) is the most common type of aggressive intraocular malignancy in children. The alteration of immunity during RB progression and invasion has not yet been well defined. This study investigated significantly altered immune-associated genes and cells related to RB invasion. Methods The differentially expressed immune-related genes (IRGs) in noninvasive RB and invasive RB were identified by analysis of two microarray datasets (GSE97508 and GSE110811). Hub IRGs were further identified by real time PCR. The single-sample gene set enrichment analysis algorithm and Pearson correlation analysis were used to define immune cell infiltration and the relationships between hub IRGs and immune cells. Cell viability and migration were evaluated by CCK-8 and Transwell assays. A xenograft mouse model was used to verify the relationship between Src homology 3 (SH3) domain GRB2-like 2 (SH3GL2) expression and myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs). Results Eight upregulated genes and six downregulated IRGs were identified in invasive RB. Seven IRGs were confirmed by real-time PCR. Moreover, the proportions of MDSCs were higher in invasive RB tissues than in noninvasive RB tissues. Furthermore, correlation analysis of altered immune genes and cells suggested that SH3GL2, Langerhans cell protein 1 (LCP1) and transmembrane immune signaling adaptor TYROBP have strong connections with MDSCs. Specifically, decreased SH3GL2 expression promoted the migration of RB cells in vitro, increased the tumor size and weight, and increased the numbers of MDSCs in the tumor and spleen in vivo. Conclusions This study indicated that SH3GL2 and MDSCs play a critical role in RB progression and invasion and provide candidate targets for the treatment of RB.

Abstract
AIM: To investigate the behaviors of smartphone usage and parental knowledge of vision health among primary students in the rural areas of China.
METHODS: In this school-based, cross-sectional study, a total of 52 606 parents of students from 30 primary schools in the Xingguo County were investigated through an online questionnaire from July 2020 to August 2020. The self-designed questionnaire contained three parts: the demographic factors of both children and parents, parental knowledge and attitude toward myopia, and the preventive treatment of myopia.
RESULTS: A total of 52 485 appropriately answered questionnaires were received, showing an effective response rate of 95.1%. The average age of the primary students was 10.1±0.98y and the prevalence of myopia among the primary students was 40.3%. The age of myopia occurrence in elementary students was significantly correlated with the parents' educational level (95%CI: 0.82-0.98, P=0.013), children's gender (95%CI: 1.08-1.20, P<0.001), school location (county or countryside) (95%CI: 0.59-0.66, P<0.001), children's smartphone ownership (95%CI: 1.09-1.26, P<0.001), and the average time spent on smartphone per day (95%CI: 0.78-0.88, P<0.001). School location in the county town, high family income, and high parents' educational level significantly affected both parents' myopia awareness and children's vision-threatening behaviors (P<0.01). Left-behind children showed a higher incidence of vision-threatening habits than those who lived with their parents (P<0.01).
CONCLUSION: The results reveal the current situation of myopia development among rural primary school students and their parents. This survey will serve as a guidance for designing myopic prevention policies in the rural areas of China.

Two Synthetic Peptides Corresponding to the Human Follicle-Stimulating Hormone β-Subunit Promoted Reproductive Functions in Mice. Int J Mol Sci 2022; 23:ijms231911735. Abstract
A follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) is widely used in the assisted reproduction and a synthetic peptide corresponding to a receptor binding region of the human (h) FSH-β-(34−37) (TRDL) modulated reproduction. Furthermore, a 13-amino acid sequence corresponding to hFSH-β-(37−49) (LVYKDPARPKIQK) was recently identified as the receptor binding site. We hypothesized that the synthetic peptides corresponding to hFSH-β-(37−49) and hFSH-β-(34−49), created by merging hFSH-β-(34−37) and hFSH-β-(37−49), modulate the reproductive functions, with the longer peptide being more biologically active. In male or female prepubertal mice, a single injection of 200 μg/g BW ip of hFSH-β-(37−49) or hFSH-β-(34−49) hastened (p < 0.05) puberty, whereas the same treatments given daily for 4 d promoted (p < 0.05) the gonadal steroidogenesis and gamete formation. In addition of either peptide to the in vitro cell cultures, promoted (p < 0.05) the proliferation of primary murine granulosa cells and the estradiol production by upregulating the expression of Ccnd2 and Cyp19a1, respectively. In adult female mice, 200 μg/g BW ip of either peptide during diestrus antagonized the FSH-stimulated estradiol increase and uterine weight gain during proestrus. Furthermore, hFSH-β-(34−49) was a more potent (p < 0.05) reproductive modulator than hFSH-β-(37−49), both in vivo and in vitro. We concluded that hFSH-β-(37−49) and especially hFSH-β-(34−49), have the potential for reproductive modulation.

Abstract
Abstract
Background
A new classification of type 1 and 2 myocardial infarction (MI) derived from the fourth universal definition of MI (UDMI) has been recently proposed, based on pathophysiology of coronary artery disease (CAD),. We assessed the impact of this new MI categorization on epidemiology and outcomes.
Methods
Retrospective study including all consecutive patients hospitalized for an acute MI in a multicenter database (RICO). MI was defined according to current UDMI. Rates and outcomes of T1MI and T2MI were addressed according to the new classification.
Results
Among the 4573 patients included on our study, 3710 patients (81.1%) were initially diagnosed with T1M1 and 863 (18.9%) with T2MI. After reclassification, 96 T2MI patients were moved into the T1MI category. Out of the remaining 767 patients with T2MI, 567 underwent coronary angiography, and were adjudicated as type 2A MI (68.6%) with obstructive CAD, and type 2B MI (31.4%) without obstructive CAD.
When compared with T1MI and T2BMI, T2AMI patients had worse in-hospital outcomes, including heart failure (p<0.001), recurrent infarction (p<0.048) and mechanical complications such as mitral insufficiency (p=0.001). The 3 groups (T1AMI, T2AMI and T2BMI) had similar all-cause and cardiovascular death rates, with a trend for a higher all-cause mortality in T2AMI patients.
Kaplan-Meier one-year survival curves showed higher all-cause and cardiovascular causes mortality in T2AMI patients compared to T1MI and T2BMI (p<0.001). In multivariate Cox regression, type of MI was independent predictor of death.
Conclusion
Our large observational multicenter study shows major disparities in mortality according to type of MI and support the relevance of the new MI classification to improve risk classification. Our findings may will help identifying specific phenotypes and considering personalized diagnostic and management strategies.

Abstract
Si Zhi Wan (SZW) is a traditional Chinese decoction used for osteoporosis treatment. Currently, the effect of SZW on ovariectomy (OVX)-induced bone loss and the underlying mechanisms remain unknown. Herein, we investigated the therapeutic effect of SZW on osteoporosis and explored the underlying mechanisms in vitro and in vivo. An OVX-induced bone loss model was established in vivo. After administration of SZW for 8 weeks, rats were sacrificed, and the uterus was weighted to calculate its index. The femur change was pathologically evaluated using hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) staining. The mineral density of the femur was observed by micro-CT. RAW264.7 cells were activated by receptor activator of nuclear factor-κB ligand (RANKL) in vitro. The effect of SZW on osteoclastogenesis was evaluated using tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase (TRAP) staining, Western blotting, and RT-PCR. The pro-apoptosis effect of SZW on mature osteoclasts was examined after induction of osteoclast maturation. Finally, the effect of SZW on the NF-κB pathway was evaluated. Our results demonstrated that SZW ameliorated OVX-induced bone loss in rats. In addition, SZW inhibited osteoclastogenesis and attenuated osteoclast-mediated bone resorption in vitro and in vivo. SZW also promoted apoptosis of mature osteoclasts. Mechanically, SZW exerts its effects by suppressing the NF-κB pathway. Overall, these findings demonstrated that SZW may be a potentially effective alternative treatment for osteoporosis.

Abstract
Cardiac fibrosis is a common precursor of ventricular dysfunction and heart failure. We investigated the role of oxidative stress in myocardial fibrosis and the protective effect of panaxatriol saponin (PTS) against myocardial infarction (MI)-induced cardiac fibrosis and explored the underlying mechanisms. In vitro, cell viability was tested using a cell counting kit. The reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels including hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and superoxide anion (O2•-) were determined. Antioxidant enzyme levels were determined by immunofluorescence and Western blotting. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays, echocardiography, histological analysis, immunofluorescence staining, and molecular analysis were performed. Nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) activation was evaluated by molecular docking and immunoprecipitation. Finally, the mechanism by which PTS inhibits cardiac fibrosis was investigated using the Nrf2 activator ML334 and a small interfering RNA for Nrf2. Ang II-induced differentiation of cardiac fibroblasts was associated with oxidative stress, characterized by upregulation of α-smooth muscle actin, increased reactive oxygen species production, and inhibition of superoxide dismutase-1 and heme oxygenase expression. In addition, PTS improved cardiac function and ameliorated cardiac fibrosis in MI rats. It also reduced Ang II-induced fibroblast differentiation and proliferation, suppressed oxidative stress, and disrupted the Kelch-like ECH-associated protein 1 (Keap1)-Nrf2 interaction by directly blocking the Nrf2 binding site in Keap1. Overexpression of Nrf2 by ML334 enhanced the antifibrotic effect of PTS. However, genetic ablation of Nrf2 abrogated the antifibrotic effect of PTS in cardiac fibrosis. Taken together, our findings suggest that Nrf2 has promise as a target and PTS as a therapeutic agent for cardiac fibrosis.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Low-intensity pulsed ultrasound (LIPUS) has been reported to accelerate fracture healing, but the mechanism is unclear and its efficacy needs to be further optimized. Ultrasound in combination with functionalized microbubbles has been shown to induce local shear forces and controllable mechanical stress in cells, amplifying the mechanical effects of LIPUS. Nanoscale lipid bubbles (nanobubbles) have high stability and good biosafety. However, the effect of LIPUS combined with functionalized nanobubbles on osteogenesis has rarely been studied. RESULTS In this study, we report cyclic arginine-glycine-aspartic acid-modified nanobubbles (cRGD-NBs), with a particle size of ~ 500 nm, able to actively target bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) via integrin receptors. cRGD-NBs can act as nanomechanical force generators on the cell membrane, and further enhance the BMSCs osteogenesis and bone formation promoted by LIPUS. The polymerization of actin microfilaments and the mechanosensitive transient receptor potential melastatin 7 (TRPM7) ion channel play important roles in BMSCs osteogenesis promoted by LIPUS/cRGD-NBs. Moreover, the mutual regulation of TRPM7 and actin microfilaments promote the effect of LIPUS/cRGD-NBs. The extracellular Ca2 + influx, controlled partly by TRPM7, could participated in the effect of LIPUS/cRGD-NBs on BMSCs. CONCLUSIONS The nanomechanical force generators cRGD-NBs could promote osteogenesis of BMSCs and bone formation induced by LIPUS, through regulation TRPM7, actin cytoskeleton, and intracellular calcium oscillations. This study provides new directions for optimizing the efficacy of LIPUS for fracture healing, and a theoretical basis for the further application and development of LIPUS in clinical practice.

Abstract
Cytosolic ABA Receptor Kinases (CARKs) play a pivotal role in abscisic acid (ABA)-dependent pathway in response to dehydration, but their regulatory mechanism in ABA signaling remains unexplored. In this study, we showed that CARK4/5 of CARK family physically interacted with ABA receptors (RCARs/PYR1/PYLs), including RCAR3, RCAR11-RCAR14, while CARK2/7/11 only interacted with RCAR11-RCAR14, but not RCAR3. It indicates that the members in CARK family function redundantly and differentially in ABA signaling. RCAR12 can form heterodimer with RCAR3 in vitro and in vivo. Moreover, the members of CARK family can form homodimer or heterodimer in a kinase activity dependent manner. ITC (isothermal titration calorimetry) analysis demonstrated that the phosphorylation of RCAR12 by CARK1 enhanced the ABA binding affinity. The phosphor-mimic RCAR12T105D significantly displayed ABA-induced inhibition of the phosphatase ABI1 (ABA insensitive 1) activity, leading to upregulation of ABA-responsive genes RD29A and RD29B in cark157:RCAR12T105D transgenic plants, which exhibited ABA hypersensitive phenotype. The transcription factor ABI5 (ABA insensitive 5) activates the transcriptions of CARK1 and CARK3 by binding to ABA-response elements (ABREs) of their promoters. Collectively, our data imply that the dimeric CARKs phosphorylate homodimer or heterodimer ABA receptors, leading to monomerization for triggering ABA responses in Arabidopsis.

Abstract
14-3-3 proteins, a family of conserved molecules in eukaryotes, target a number of protein clients through their ability to recognize well-defined phosphorylated motifs. ADF4, as one of Actin-Depolymerizing Factor (ADF) family of proteins, is involved in plant development, and response to biotic and abiotic stresses. Here, we show that 14-3-3κ specially interacted with ADF4 in vitro and in vivo. The 14-3-3κ×adf4 double mutant displayed less F-actin bundle and shorter hypocotyl compared with adf4 mutant, indicating that 14-3-3κ acts upstream of ADF4 to mediate the hypocotyl growth in the dark-grown seedlings. Under the osmotic stress, 14-3-3κ mutants displayed less survival rate than wild-type plants. The adf4 mutants exhibited markedly enhanced survival rate under osmotic treatment, while ADF4-overexpressing plants displayed the opposite results, indicating that ADF4 plays a negative role in response to osmotic stress in Arabidopsis. The interaction between ADF4 and 14-3-3κ inhibited the association of ADF4 with actin filament. Moreover, the in vitro phosphorylation assay demonstrates that the phosphorylation of ADF4 by CASEIN KINASE1-LIKE PROTEIN2 (CKL2) was enhanced by binding 14-3-3κ. Collectively, our data infer a fundamental role for the interaction between 14-3-3κ and ADF4 in regulating hypocotyl growth and osmotic tolerance of plants.

Abstract
We reported that in a 29-year-old male patient with hyperthyroidism, bilateral breast swelling appeared in three days after starting methimazole and gradually aggravated. Several days later, a small amount of transparent liquid could be squeezed out from bilateral mammary glands. Breast ultrasound confirmed gynaecomastia. The level of testosterone, estradiol and luteinizing hormone increased. After the patient continued taking methimazole for a while, gynaecomastia relieved. Testosterone, luteinizing hormone and thyroid functions restored to normal. The possible mechanisms included increased levels of serum total cholesterol and relatively decreased T3 after initiating methimazole.

Abstract
Follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) is crucial for ovarian folliculogenesis and thus essential for female fertility. Here, we developed a novel FSH vaccine based on the tandem of a 13-amino acid receptor-binding epitope of FSHβ (FSHβ13AA-T) and used a mouse model to test its efficacy in female fertility regulation. Compared to placebo-immunized controls, FSHβ13AA-T vaccination: induced a marked (P < 0.05) antibody generation; reduced (P < 0.05) serum concentrations of FSH, inhibin B and 17β-estradiol; disrupted (P < 0.05) normal estrous cyclicity; delayed (P = 0.08) establishment of pregnancy; blocked (P < 0.05) folliculogenesis; and reduced (P < 0.05) litter size. Mechanistically, FSH vaccination reduced (P < 0.05) ovarian estrogen production by decreasing Lhcgr, Cyp19a1 and HSD3β1 expression, and suppressed ovarian follicular development by decreasing ovarian Fshr, Inhα, Foxo3a, Bmp15 and Cdh1 expression. Overall, vaccination of female mice with FSHβ13AA-T substantially disrupted FSH-dependent ovarian steroidogenesis and folliculogenesis, and caused subfertility. Therefore, vaccines based on FSHβ13AA-T have potential as anti-fertility/contraceptive agents in females.

Abstract
BACKGROUND To assess the evolution of the epidemiology and management of patients hospitalized to Abidjan Heart Institute for acute coronary syndrome (ACS). METHODS Cross-sectional study comparing two periods: from January 2002 to December 2009 (period 1) and from January 2010 to December 2016 (period 2), including all patients aged 18 years old, admitted to Intensive Care Unit of Abidjan Heart Institute for ACS. RESULTS One thousand eleven (1011) patients were included among the 6784 patients admitted to Intensive Care Unit of Abidjan Heart Institute for a cardiovascular disease. The overall prevalence of ACS was 14.9%. The prevalence in period 2 was significantly higher than in period 1 (22.6% and 7.3% respectively, p < 0.001). Diabetes (33.5%, p < 0.001) significantly, and smoking (30.7%, p = 0.30) had the largest rises from period 1 to period 2. ST-segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction was the main clinical presentation during both periods. The median time to treatment (p = 0.46) and length of hospital stay (p <0.001) decreased during period 2. Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) was performed in 173 patients (22.6%) during the period 2 and 42 patients (5.5%) underwent primary PCI. The rate of fibrinolysis increased significantly between the two periods (9.5%, p <0.001). In-hospital death increased during period 2 (10.4%, p = 0.07). CONCLUSION The burden of ACS and its related mortality have risen alarmingly past years in Côte d'Ivoire. Healthcare policies should help improve the management and outcomes of patients.

Abstract
PURPOSE The aim of this study was to investigate the changes of Helper T cells 17 (Th17 cells), Regulatory T cells (Treg cells), Treg/Th17, Interleukin-17 (IL-17) and Interleukin-10 (IL-10) in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). METHODS Four electronic resource databases were searched from their inception to 1 August 2021. Case-control studies about changes of Th17 cells, Treg cells, Treg/Th17, IL-17 and IL-10 in patients with T2DM were retrieved. We performed this meta-analysis via RevMan V.5.3 and Stata14. RESULTS 20 studies with 1242 individuals were included in the meta-analysis. Compared with the controls, the patients with T2DM had significantly increased levels of percentage of Th17 cells (SMD, 1.74; 95% CI, 0.47-3.01; p < 0.001), IL-17 (SMD, 2.17; 95% CI, 0.06-4.28; p < 0.001), IL-10 (SMD, 1.20; 95% CI, 0.81-1.59; p = 0.003), but decreased levels of percentage of Treg cells (SMD, -1.17; 95% CI, -2.22 to -0.13; p < 0.001) and Treg/Th17 ratio (SMD, -4.43; 95% CI, -7.07 to -1.78; p < 0.001). Subgroup analysis showed that percentage of CD4+CD25+FOXP3+ Tregs (SMD, -2.36; 95% CI, -3.19 to -1.52; p = 0.003) in patients was notably lower than controls. While not significant changes were found in the percentage of CD4+CD25+Tregs (SMD, 0.03; 95% CI, -0.34-0.40; p = 0.63) between patients and controls. For plasma or serum IL-10, a higher plasma IL-10 level (SMD,1.37; 95% CI, 0.92-1.82; p = 0.01) was observed in T2DM. While serum IL-10 (SMD, 0.73; 95% CI, 0.35-1.12; p = 0.79) had no obvious difference between patients and controls. For ELISA or flow cytometry, IL-10 (SMD, 1.2; 95% CI, 0.71-1.70; p = 0.001) was higher in T2DM patients by using detection method of ELISA. Yet IL-10 using flow cytometry and subgroup analysis of IL-17 had no significant differences. CONCLUSIONS Adaptive immune system indeed plays an essential role in the process of T2DM. Imbalance between Th17 and Treg triggers pro-inflammatory environment in patients with T2DM.

Abstract
The construction of water-soluble synthetic hosts with a stimuli-responsive endo-functionalized cavity is challenging. These hosts feature a switchable cavity and may bring new properties to the fields of self-assembly, molecular machines, and biomedical sciences. Herein, we report a pair of water-soluble naphthotubes with a pH-responsive endo-functionalized cavity. The inward-directing secondary amine group of the hosts can be protonated and deprotonated. Thus, the hosts have different cavity features at the two states and show drastically different binding preference and selectivity in water. We reveal that the binding difference of the two host states is originated from the differences in charge repulsion, hydrogen bonding and the hydrophobic effects. Moreover, the guest binding can be easily switched in a ternary mixture with two guest molecules by adjusting the pH value of the solution. These pH-responsive hosts may be used for the construction of smart self-assembly systems and water-soluble molecular machines.

Abstract
Background Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) has become a common public health issue among university students, impairing their physical and mental health. This meta-analysis aimed to examine the pooled prevalence of IBS and its associated factors among Chinese university students. Methods Databases of PubMed, EMBASE, MEDLINE (via EBSCO), CINAHL (via EBSCO), Wan Fang, CNKI and Weipu (via VIP) were systematically searched from inception date to May 31, 2021. Meta-analysis was performed using random-effects models. Meta-regression and subgroup analysis were used to detect the potential source of heterogeneity. Key Results A total of 22 cross-sectional studies (14 were in Chinese and 8 were in English) with 33,166 Chinese university students were included. The pooled prevalence of IBS was estimated as 11.89% (95% CI = 8.06%, 16.35%). The prevalence was 10.50% (95% CI = 6.80%, 15.87%) in Rome II criteria, 12.00% (95% CI = 8.23%, 17.17%) in Rome III criteria, and 3.66% (95% CI = 2.01%, 6.60%) in Rome IV criteria. The highest prevalence of IBS was 17.66% (95% CI = 7.37%, 36.64%) in North China, and the lowest was 3.18% (95% CI = 1.28%, 7.68%) in South China. Subgroup analyses indicated that gender, major, anxiety and depression symptoms, drinking and smoking behaviors were significantly associated with the prevalence of IBS. Meta-regression analyses suggested that region influenced prevalence estimates for IBS. Conclusions and Inferences This meta-analysis illustrated that IBS is very common in Chinese university students. Regular screening, effective prevention, and appropriate treatments should be implemented to reduce the risk of IBS in this population. More future studies should be conducted in Northeastern and Southwestern parts of China.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the relationship between body mass index (BMI) and sexual development in Chinese children. Methods: A nationwide multicenter and population-based large cross-sectional study was conducted in 13 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities of China from January 2017 to December 2018. Data on sex, age, height, weight were collected, BMI was calculated and sexual characteristics were analyzed. The subjects were divided into four groups based on age, including ages 3-<6 years, 6-<10 years, 10-<15 years and 15-<18 years. Multiple Logistic regression models were used for evaluating the associations of BMI with sexual development in children. Dichotomous Logistic regression was used to compare the differences in the distribution of early and non-early puberty among normal weight, overweight and obese groups. Curves were drawn to analyze the relationship between the percentage of early puberty and BMI distribution in girls and boys at different Tanner stages. Results: A total of 208 179 healthy children (96 471 girls and 111 708 boys) were enrolled in this study. The OR values of B2, B3 and B4+ in overweight girls were 1.72 (95%CI: 1.56-1.89), 3.19 (95%CI: 2.86-3.57), 7.14 (95%CI: 6.33-8.05) and in obese girls were 2.05 (95%CI: 1.88-2.24), 4.98 (95%CI: 4.49-5.53), 11.21 (95%CI: 9.98-12.59), respectively; while the OR values of G2, G3, G4+ in overweight boys were 1.27 (95%CI: 1.17-1.38), 1.52 (95%CI: 1.36-1.70), 1.88 (95%CI: 1.66-2.14) and in obese boys were 1.27 (95%CI: 1.17-1.37), 1.59 (95%CI: 1.43-1.78), and 1.93 (95%CI: 1.70-2.18) (compared with normal weight Tanner 1 group, all P<0.01). Analysis in different age groups found that OR values of obese girls at B2 stage and boys at G2 stage were 2.02 (95%CI: 1.06-3.86) and 2.32 (95%CI:1.05-5.12) in preschool children aged 3-<6 years, respectively (both P<0.05). And in the age group of 6-10 years, overweight girls had a 5.45-fold risk and obese girls had a 12.54-fold risk of B3 stage compared to girls with normal BMI. Compared with normal weight children, the risk of early puberty was 2.67 times higher in overweight girls, 3.63 times higher in obese girls, and 1.22 times higher in overweight boys, 1.35 times higher in obese boys (all P<0.01). Among the children at each Tanner stages, the percentage of early puberty increased with the increase of BMI, from 5.7% (80/1 397), 16.1% (48/299), 13.8% (27/195) to 25.7% (198/769), 65.1% (209/321), 65.4% (157/240) in girls aged 8-<9, 10-<11 and 11-<12 years, and 6.6% (34/513), 18.7% (51/273), 21.6% (57/264) to 13.3% (96/722), 46.4% (140/302), 47.5% (105/221) in boys aged 9-<10, 12-<13 and 13-<14 years, respectively. Conclusions: BMI is positively correlated with sexual development in both Chinese boys and girls, and the correlation is stronger in girls. Obesity is a risk factor for precocious puberty in preschool children aged 3-<6 years, and 6-<10 years of age is a high risk period for early development in obese girls.
