Abstract
Despite the many advantages of smartphone in daily life, there are significant concerns regarding their problematic use. Therefore, several smartphone usage management applications have been developed to prevent problematic smartphone use. The purpose of this study is to investigate the factors of users' behavioral intention to use smartphone usage management applications. Participants were divided into a smartphone use control group and a problematic use group to find significant intergroup path differences. The research model of this study is fundamentally based on the Technology Acceptance Model and Expectation-Confirmation Theory. Based on this theorem, models were modified to best suit the case of problematic smartphone use intervention by smartphone application. We conducted online surveys on 511 randomly selected smartphone users aged 20-60 in South Korea, in 2018. The Smartphone Addiction Proneness Scale was used to measure participants' smartphone dependency. Descriptive statistics were used for the demographic analysis and collected data were analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics 24.0 and Amos 24.0. We found that in both non-problematic smartphone use group and problematic smartphone use group, facilitating factors and perceived security positively affect the intentions of users to use the application. One distinct difference between the groups was that the latter attributed a lower importance to perceived security than the former. Some of our highlighted unique points are envisioned to provide intensive insights for broadening knowledge about technology acceptance in the field of e-Addictology.

Objectives
Caffeine is associated with brain health, and it is suggested to lower the risk of neurological diseases. This cross-sectional study aimed to investigate the association between caffeine intake and concentration of brain metabolites in healthy older adults.
Methods
Caffeine intake was determined in 60 cognitively normal, healthy older adults aged between 60–85 years (61.9% women) using a 7-day food record (7D) that was collected seven days prior to their Magnetic Resonance scan. The 7D was entered in the Nutrition Data System for Research (NDS-R version 2012) for nutrient analysis. Brain metabolites [N-acetylaspartate, creatine, total choline, glutamate + glutamine, and myo-inositol (mI)] were measured using a 1H magnetic resonance spectroscopic imaging method at 3T. All metabolites were quantified using LCModel analysis software and concentrations are shown as a ratio to creatine. Measurements were presented as mean ± standard deviation and n(%). We assessed the relationship between caffeine intake and brain metabolite concentrations by multiple linear regression, adjusting for age and sex. Statistical analyses were performed using SPSS (v25, IBM) with significance of P ≤ 0.05.
Results
Participants had a mean age of 69.3 ± 7.3 years. Mean caffeine intake among the participants was 152.17 ± 133.79mg/d (range: 0–635.98mg/d). There was a significant correlation between caffeine and mI (β = 0.443; P = 0.001). The remaining metabolites were not correlated with caffeine intake.
Conclusions
Higher caffeine intake in older adults was associated with higher brain mI concentrations. The metabolic link between brain mI concentrations and neurological diseases is still unclear, thus, future studies are necessary regarding the mechanism for the impact of caffeine on brain metabolism.

Abstract
Monoamine oxidase A (MAO-A) is an enzyme best known for its function in the brain, where it breaks down neurotransmitters and thereby influences mood and behavior. Small-molecule MAO inhibitors (MAOIs) have been developed and are clinically used for treating depression and other neurological disorders. However, the involvement of MAO-A in antitumor immunity has not been reported. Here, we observed induction of the Maoa gene in tumor-infiltrating immune cells. Maoa knockout mice exhibited enhanced antitumor T cell immunity and suppressed tumor growth. MAOI treatment significantly suppressed tumor growth in preclinical mouse syngeneic and human xenograft tumor models in a T cell-dependent manner. Combining MAOI and anti-PD-1 treatments generated synergistic tumor suppression effects. Clinical data correlation studies associated intratumoral MAOA expression with T cell dysfunction and decreased patient survival in a broad range of cancers. We further demonstrated that MAO-A restrains antitumor T cell immunity through controlling intratumoral T cell autocrine serotonin signaling. Together, these data identify MAO-A as an immune checkpoint and support repurposing MAOI antidepressants for cancer immunotherapy.

Abstract
Human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs) have attracted considerable interest in understanding the cellular fate determination processes and modeling a number of intractable diseases. In vitro generation of skeletal muscle tissues using hPSCs provides an essential model to identify the molecular functions and gene regulatory networks controlling the differentiation of skeletal muscle progenitor cells. Such a genetic roadmap is not only beneficial to understanding human myogenesis but also to decipher the molecular pathology of many skeletal muscle diseases. The combination of established human in vitro myogenesis protocols and newly developed molecular profiling techniques offers extensive insight into the molecular signatures for the development of normal and disease human skeletal muscle tissues. In this review, we provide a comprehensive overview of the current progress of in vitro skeletal muscle generation from hPSCs and relevant examples of the transcriptional landscape and disease-related transcriptional aberrations involving signaling pathways during the development of skeletal muscle cells.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Severe peripheral nerve injury significantly affects patients' quality of life and induces neuropathic pain. Neural crest stem cells (NCSCs) exhibit several attractive characteristics for cell-based therapies following peripheral nerve injury. Here, we investigate the therapeutic effect of NCSC therapy and associated changes in the spinal cord in a sciatic nerve transection (SNT) model. METHODS Complex sciatic nerve gap injuries in rats were repaired with cell-free and cell-laden nerve scaffolds for 12 weeks (scaffold and NCSC groups, respectively). Catwalk gait analysis was used to assess the motor function recovery. The mechanical withdrawal threshold and thermal withdrawal latency were used to assess the development of neuropathic pain. Activation of glial cells was examined by immunofluorescence analyses. Spinal levels of extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK), NF-κB P65, brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), growth-associated protein (GAP)-43, calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP), and inflammation factors were calculated by western blot analysis. RESULTS Catwalk gait analysis showed that animals in the NCSC group exhibited a higher stand index and Max intensity At (%) relative to those that received the cell-free scaffold (scaffold group) (p < 0.05). The mechanical and thermal allodynia in the medial-plantar surface of the ipsilateral hind paw were significantly relieved in the NCSC group. Sunitinib (SNT)-induced upregulation of glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) (astrocyte) and ionized calcium-binding adaptor molecule 1 (Iba-1) (microglia) in the ipsilateral L4-5 dorsal and ventral horn relative to the contralateral side. Immunofluorescence analyses revealed decreased astrocyte and microglia activation. Activation of ERK and NF-κB signals and expression of transient receptor potential vanilloid 1 (TRPV1) expression were downregulated. CONCLUSION NCSC-laden nerve scaffolds mitigated SNT-induced neuropathic pain and improved motor function recovery after sciatic nerve repair. NCSCs also protected the spinal cord from SNT-induced glial activation and central sensitization.

Abstract
Background Physical frailty has previously been associated with adverse clinical outcomes in patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD). This study aimed to determine whether impaired physical performance at baseline is associated with the incidence of ESRD, using a nationwide database. Methods The timed up-and-go (TUG) test was used to assess physical frailty in 1,552,781 66-year-old individuals, using health examination database records from the Korean National Health Insurance Service. As a primary endpoint, incident ESRD was defined operationally using healthcare claims data from the Korean Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service. Results Our results showed that baseline kidney function was significantly worse in individuals with TUG results of > 10 s compared to individuals with an intact TUG performance (≤10 s). Kaplan-Meier analysis showed a stepwise dose-response relationship between baseline physical performance and the incidence rate of ESRD (log-rank test P-value of < 0.001). An increasing ESRD incidence rate trend with poor physical performance remained significant after adjusting for characteristics such as baseline glomerular filtration rate and proteinuria. Conclusion Poor baseline physical performance was associated with an increased risk of ESRD, suggesting possible interactions between systemic frailty and vascular aging processes.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To our knowledge, no studies have yet looked at how the risk of developing breast cancer (BC) varies with changes in metabolic syndrome (MetS) status. This study aimed to investigate the association between changes in MetS and subsequent BC occurrence. RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODS We enrolled 930,055 postmenopausal women aged 40-74 years who participated in a biennial National Health Screening Program in 2009-2010 and 2011-2012. Participants were categorized into four groups according to change in MetS status during the two-year interval screening: sustained non-MetS, transition to MetS, transition to non-MetS, and sustained MetS. We calculated multivariable-adjusted hazard ratios (aHRs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) for BC incidence using the Cox proportional hazards models. RESULTS At baseline, MetS was associated with a significantly increased risk of BC (aHR 1.11, 95% CI 1.06-1.17) and so were all of its components. The risk of BC increased as the number of the components increased (aHR 1.46, 95% CI 1.26-1.61 for women with all five components). Compared to the sustained non-MetS group, the aHR (95% CI) for BC was 1.11 (1.04-1.19) in the transition to MetS group, 1.05 (0.96-1.14) in the transition to non-MetS group, and 1.18 (1.12-1.25) in the sustained MetS group. CONCLUSIONS Significantly increased BC risk was observed in the sustained MetS and transition to MetS groups. These findings are clinically meaningful in that efforts to recover from MetS may lead to reduced risk of BC.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Since the diagnosis of post-arthroscopic chondrolysis is very difficult, it can be underdiagnosed and confused with other diseases in clinical practice. PURPOSE To propose imaging features of post-arthroscopic radiocarpal chondrolysis (PRCC) and to compare these with osteoarthritis associated with scapholunate dissociation which are the most common misdiagnoses of PRCC. MATERIAL AND METHODS To identify missed diagnoses of PRCC, 994 magnetic resonance imaging scans performed in 910 patients were retrospectively reviewed. After the identification of 73 patients who exhibited significant radiocarpal cartilage loss, 11 were diagnosed with PRCC. Since scapholunate advanced collapse was the most common incorrect diagnosis of PRCC (4/11), the imaging findings were compared among the 11 patients with PRCC and 14 patients with osteoarthritis caused by scapholunate dissociation who were diagnosed in the same period. The following imaging features were evaluated: scapholunate dissociation; the center of disease and grade of radiocarpal joint destruction; characteristics of bone marrow edema; the presence of radial styloid and distal scaphoid osteophytes; and the extent of joint effusion and synovitis. RESULTS The imaging diagnosis of PRCC was significantly differentiated from osteoarthritis associated with scapholunate dissociation based on occurrence at a younger age, bone marrow edema crossing the joint, center of disease in the proximal radioscaphoid joint, and absence of radial styloid and scaphoid osteophytes (P < 0.05). PRCC occasionally presented with arch-shape bone marrow edema based on the proximal carpal row. CONCLUSION The diagnosis of PRCC can be aided if its characteristic imaging findings are differentiated from other disease entities in patients with a history of arthroscopy.

Abstract
Background Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) has a high recurrence rate of 20% to 30% after nephrectomy for clinically localized disease, and more than 40% of patients eventually die of the disease, making regular monitoring and constant management of utmost importance. Objective The objective of this study was to develop an algorithm that predicts the probability of recurrence of RCC within 5 and 10 years of surgery. Methods Data from 6849 Korean patients with RCC were collected from eight tertiary care hospitals listed in the KOrean Renal Cell Carcinoma (KORCC) web-based database. To predict RCC recurrence, analytical data from 2814 patients were extracted from the database. Eight machine learning algorithms were used to predict the probability of RCC recurrence, and the results were compared. Results Within 5 years of surgery, the highest area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUROC) was obtained from the naïve Bayes (NB) model, with a value of 0.836. Within 10 years of surgery, the highest AUROC was obtained from the NB model, with a value of 0.784. Conclusions An algorithm was developed that predicts the probability of RCC recurrence within 5 and 10 years using the KORCC database, a large-scale RCC cohort in Korea. It is expected that the developed algorithm will help clinicians manage prognosis and establish customized treatment strategies for patients with RCC after surgery.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Previous evidence has suggested roles for α-synuclein propagation and vitamin B12 (VitB12) deficiency in the pathogenesis of Parkinson's disease (PD). We investigated whether gastric cancer (GC) patients who underwent gastrectomy had a lower risk of PD and whether VitB12 supplementation modified the risk. METHODS GC patients aged ≥50 years who underwent curative gastrectomy between 2007 and 2012 (n = 72,216) and matched comparison groups (n = 211,389) were identified from the Korean National Health Insurance database. The risks of PD were analyzed by Cox regression. RESULTS Compared to their matched comparison groups, GC patients who underwent gastrectomy showed a decreased risk of PD (adjusted HR [aHR] 0.86; 95% confidence interval [CI] 0.75-0.98), but the significance disappeared after further adjustment with smoking and body mass index (BMI). To elaborate, subtotal gastrectomy (STG) was associated with decreased risk of PD (aHR 0.85; 95% CI 0.74-0.99) while total gastrectomy (TG) was not (aHR 0.89; 95% CI 0.66-1.19), although the risk reduction was not significant when further adjusted for smoking and BMI. Among the patients who underwent TG, their risk of PD was markedly lower when they had VitB12 supplementation after surgery (aHR 0.36; 95% CI 0.17-0.76), while the risk was higher when they did not have any (aHR 1.55; 95% CI 1.03-2.32). CONCLUSIONS GC patients who underwent gastrectomy and received uninterrupted VitB12 supplementation had a decreased incidence of PD. This study provides indirect epidemiological evidence for the potential roles of gastrectomy and VitB12 in the pathogenesis of PD.

Abstract
Objectives Deliberate self-poisoning (DSP) is the most common suicide method and can be life-threatening. The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors related to the lethality of DSP and the characteristics of the adolescent group. Methods A retrospective study was conducted on patients who had visited an academic hospital’s regional emergency medical center between 2015 and 2018. The data reviewed through their medical records included sociodemographic factors, clinical variables, and psychiatric treatment. Four groups (Q1–Q4) were categorized by descriptive analysis using the risk-rescue rating scale. Results A total of 491 patients were enrolled in this study. This study showed that high lethality had statistically significant associa-tions with male sex, older age, admitting suicidal intentions, and the use of herbicides for suicide. Logistic regression analyses showed a significant association between high-lethality and female [odds ratio (OR)=0.50, 95% confidence interval (CI)=0.30–0.81, p=0.01], non-psychiatric drugs (over-the-counter drug: OR=2.49, 95% CI=1.08–5.74, p=0.03; herbicide: OR=8.65, 95% CI=3.91–19.13, p<0.01), and denial of suicide intent (OR=0.28, 95% CI=0.15–0.55, p<0.01). Conclusion This study showed the clinical factors associated with the high lethality of DSP and suggested that efforts were needed to care for and thoroughly examine patients with DSP.

Abstract
FGF21 (Fibroblast Growth Factor 21), which is expressed in the liver, adipose tissue, and pancreas, has been widely known as a therapeutic candidate for metabolic diseases. Though FGF21 is crucial to glucose, lipid, and energy homeostasis, it is not straightforward to develop a new drug with FGF21 due to its short half-life in serum. Here, we derived a novel long-acting FGF21 (LAPS-FGF21), which is chemically conjugated to the human IgG4 Fc fragment for longer half-life in serum. The recombinant human IgG4 Fc fragment and FGF21 were prepared by the refolding of inclusion body and periplasmic expression in Escherichia coli overexpression systems, respectively. The efficacy study of LAPS-FGF21 in a Diet-Induced Obesity (DIO) mouse model revealed that LAPS-FGF21 reduced body weight effectively accompanied by improved glucose tolerance in a dose-dependent manner. The administration of LAPS-FGF21 also improved the blood profiles with a significant reduction in cholesterol and triglyceride levels. Additionally, the pharmacokinetic (PK) studies of LAPS-FGF21 using normal ICR mice demonstrated that the half-life of LAPS-FGF21 was approximately 64-fold longer than FGF21. Taken together, the LAPS-FGF21 could be a feasible drug candidate with excellent bodyweight loss efficacy and longer dosing interval by half-life increase in serum.

Abstract
The purpose of this study was aimed to isolate a Salmonella
Typhimurium-specific phage (KFS-ST) from washing water in a poultry processing
facility and to investigate the feasibility of the KFS-ST as a novel
bio-receptor for the magnetoelastic (ME) biosensor method. KFS-ST against
S. Typhimurium was isolated, propagated, and purified using
a CsCl-gradient ultracentrifugation. Morphological characteristics of KFS-ST
were analyzed using transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Its specificity and
efficiency of plating analysis were conducted against 39 foodborne pathogens.
The temperature and pH stabilities of KFS-ST were investigated by the exposure
of the phage to various temperatures (−70°C–70°C)
and pHs (1–12) for 1 h. A one-step growth curve analysis was performed to
determine the eclipse time, latent time and burst size of phage. The storage
stability of KFS-ST was studied by exposing KFS-ST to various storage
temperatures (−70°C, −20°C, 4°C, and
22°C) for 12 weeks. KFS-ST was isolated and purified with a high
concentration of (11.47 ± 0.25) Log PFU/mL. It had an icosahedral head
(56.91 ± 2.90 nm) and a non-contractile tail (225.49 ± 2.67 nm),
which was classified into the family of Siphoviridae in the
order of Caudovirales. KFS-ST exhibited an excellent
specificity against only S. Typhimurium and S.
Enteritidis, which are considered two of the most problematic
Salmonella strains in the meat and poultry. However, KFS-ST
did not exhibit any specificity against six other Salmonella
and 27 non-Salmonella strains. KFS-ST was stable at temperature
of 4°C to 50°C and at pH of 4 to 12. The eclipse time, latent
time, and burst size of KFS-ST were determined to be 10 min, 25 min and 26 PFU/
infected cell, respectively. KFS-ST was relatively stable during the 12-week
storage period at all tested temperatures. Therefore, this study demonstrated
the feasibility of KFS-ST as a novel bio-receptor for the detection of
S. Typhimurium and S. Enteritidis in meat
and poultry products using the ME biosensor method.

Abstract
Eflapegrastim (Rolontis) is a long-acting granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) with an IgG4 Fc fragment and short polyethylene glycol linker. Current G-CSF products are administered 24 hours after chemotherapy. The present study compares the duration of neutropenia (DN) with eflapegrastim or pegfilgrastim at 0, 2, 5, or 24 hours post chemotherapy. Eflapegrastim was evaluated by G-CSF receptor binding and bone marrow cell proliferation assays in vitro. Eflapegrastim-Fc component binding to Fcγ receptors C1q and FcRn was assessed by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Neutropenia was induced in rats via intraperitoneal cyclophosphamide or docetaxel/cyclophosphamide. Rats received chemotherapy followed by vehicle, pegfilgrastim, or eflapegrastim at 2, 5, or 24 hours. The difference in DN after treatment was assessed. In vitro binding to G-CSF receptor of both agents was similar. Binding to FcRn and no binding to Fcγ receptors or C1q were observed with eflapegrastim. Studies in chemotherapy-induced neutropenic rats revealed shorter DN with eflapegrastim versus pegfilgrastim. Increased levels of G-CSF in serum and marrow were observed in groups treated with eflapegrastim versus those treated with pegfilgrastim. Although eflapegrastim and pegfilgrastim have similar in vitro binding affinity, the Fc fragment in eflapegrastim increases the uptake into bone marrow, resulting in increased therapeutic potential for chemotherapy-induced neutropenia. Eflapegrastim's greater marrow resident time provided a pharmacodynamic advantage over pegfilgrastim, translating into shortened duration of neutropenia. Our findings support eflapegrastim same-day administration with chemotherapy, warranting further evaluation in patients undergoing myelosuppressive chemotherapy.

Abstract
Background Smartphone overuse can harm individual health and well-being. Although several studies have explored the relationship between problematic or excessive smartphone use and mental health, much less is known about effects on self-esteem, which is essential in having a healthy life, among adults with mental health disorders, including internet gaming disorder. Furthermore, given that smartphone usage differs by gender, little is known about gender differences in the relationship between smartphone overuse and self-esteem. Objective The objective of this study was to assess self-esteem among individuals with mental health disorders and explore the relationship with excessive smartphone use. Methods Participants were selected based on their responses to the internet gaming disorder assessment, which includes 9 items developed based on Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (Fifth Edition) criteria, from among a Korean cohort of smartphone users aged 20-40 years, resulting in a sample of 189 participants (men:120, women: 69). The Rosenberg self-esteem scale and the Korean smartphone addiction proneness scale were utilized to assess the outcome self-esteem with excessive smartphone use as the primary independent variable. Guided by the Bowlby attachment theory and prior studies, we selected several covariates. Generalized linear regression analyses, as well as subgroup analyses by gender, were performed. Results Among adults with internet gaming disorder, the average Korean smartphone addiction proneness scale score was significantly higher in women than that in men (41.30 vs. 37.94; P=.001), and excessive smartphone use was significantly more prevalent in women than it was in men (30.43% vs. 20.83%; P=.02). Our findings from the generalized linear regression analyses indicated that an increase in Korean smartphone addiction proneness scale score had a negative relationship with self-esteem among those with internet gaming disorder (β=–0.18, P=.001). Furthermore, our interaction models showed that, among those with internet gaming disorder, more men than women had lower self-esteem associated with an increase in Korean smartphone addiction proneness scale score and a high degree of smartphone overuse (β=–0.19, P=.004; β=–3.73, P<.001). Conclusions Excessive smartphone use was found to be adversely associated with self-esteem among young and middle-aged adults with internet gaming disorder; notably, more men than women were negatively influenced (regarding self-esteem) by smartphone overuse. Based on our findings, more efforts should be made to reduce excessive or problematic smartphone use by considering developing public health interventions or policy, particularly among those with mental health disorders such as internet gaming disorder.

Abstract
Anemia is a frequent complication of chronic kidney disease (CKD) that causes an increase in morbidity and mortality and accelerates the rate of disease progression. Treatment with recombinant human erythropoietin (rhEPO) is a major breakthrough in the therapy of renal anemia. HM10760A, a long-acting EPO, has been developed as a treatment for anemia in CKD patients. A series of preclinical toxicology studies, such as acute, 4 week repeat-dose, and 13 week repeat-dose, was completed to support the safety of human exposure to HM10760A for up to 13 weeks. The rodent and non-rodent species used in the pivotal preclinical general toxicity studies were rats and monkeys, respectively. A once-a-week or once-every-two-week i.v dosing regimen was applied for 4 week and 13 week repeat-dose toxicity studies, respectively, in consideration of the expected administration frequency in humans. Based on the 13 week repeat-dose toxicity studies, 2.61 μg/kg and 22.03 μg/kg can be considered as the NOAELs (no observed adverse effect levels) in rats and monkeys, respectively. Almost all observations recorded at the low- and mid-dose levels are typical pharmacological effects of EPO and not uniquely attributed HM10760A toxicity. To account for the differences between human being and animal physiologies, the safety of HM10760A needs to be further confirmed in future clinical studies.

Abstract
Stem cell fate is largely determined by cellular signaling networks and is heavily dependent on the supplementation of exogenous recombinant proteins into culture media; however, uneven distribution and inconsistent stability of recombinant proteins are closely associated with the spontaneous differentiation of pluripotent stem cells (PSCs) and result in significant costs in large-scale manufacturing. Here, we report a novel PSC culture system via wirelessly controllable optical activation of the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) signaling pathway without the need for supplementation of recombinant FGF2 protein, a key molecule for maintaining pluripotency of PSCs. Using a fusion protein between the cytoplasmic region of the FGF receptor-1 and a light-oxygen-voltage domain, we achieved tunable, blue light-dependent activation of FGF signaling in human and porcine PSCs. Our data demonstrate that a highly controllable optical stimulation of the FGF signaling pathway is sufficient for long-term maintenance of PSCs, without the loss of differentiation potential into three germ layers. This culture system will be a cost-effective platform for a large-scale stem cell culture.

Abstract
PURPOSE To evaluate feasibility of computer tomography texture analysis (CTTA) at different energy level using dual-energy spectral detector CT for liver fibrosis. MATERIALS AND METHODS Eighty-seven patients who underwent a spectral CT examination and had a reference standard of liver fibrosis (histopathologic findings, n = 61, or clinical findings for normal, n = 26) were included. Mean gray-level intensity, mean number of positive pixels (MPP), entropy, skewness, and kurtosis using commercially available software (TexRAD) were compared at different energy levels. Optimal CTTA parameter cutoffs to diagnose liver fibrosis were evaluated. CTTA parameters at different energy levels correlated with liver fibrosis. The association of CTTA parameters with energy level was evaluated. RESULTS Mean gray-level intensity, skewness, kurtosis, and entropy showed significant differences between patients with and without clinically significant hepatic fibrosis (P < 0.05). Mean gray-level intensity at 50 keV was significantly positively correlated with liver fibrosis (ρ = 0.502, P < 0.001). To diagnose stages F2-F4, entropy and mean gray-level intensity at low keV level showed the largest area under the curve (AUC; 0.79 and 0.79). Estimated marginal means (EMMs) of mean gray-level intensity showed prominent differences at low energy levels. CONCLUSION CTTA parameters from different keV levels demonstrated meaningful accuracy for diagnosis of liver fibrosis or clinically significant hepatic fibrosis.

Abstract
Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) is the most common muscular dystrophy. In the present study, when human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs) were differentiated into myoblasts, the myoblasts derived from DMD patient hiPSCs (DMD hiPSC-derived myoblasts) exhibited an identifiable DMD-relevant phenotype: myogenic fusion deficiency. Based on this model, we developed a DMD hiPSC-derived myoblast screening platform employing a high-content imaging (BD Pathway 855) approach to generate parameters describing morphological as well as myogenic marker protein expression. Following treatment of the cells with 1524 compounds from the Johns Hopkins Clinical Compound Library, compounds that enhanced myogenic fusion of DMD hiPSC-derived myoblasts were identified. The final hits were ginsenoside Rd and fenofibrate. Transcriptional profiling revealed that ginsenoside Rd is functionally related to FLT3 signaling, while fenofibrate is linked to TGF-β signaling. Preclinical tests in mdx mice showed that treatment with these 2 hit compounds can significantly ameliorate some of the skeletal muscle phenotypes caused by dystrophin deficiency, supporting their therapeutic potential. Further study revealed that fenofibrate could inhibit mitochondrion-induced apoptosis in DMD hiPSC-derived cardiomyocytes. We have developed a platform based on DMD hiPSC-derived myoblasts for drug screening and identified 2 promising small molecules with in vivo efficacy.

Abstract
PURPOSE Escherichia coli O157:H7 is one of the major foodborne pathogens of global public concern. Bacteriophages (phages) have emerged as a promising alternative to antibiotics for controlling pathogenic bacteria. Here, a lytic E. coli O157:H7-specific phage (KFS-EC) was isolated, identified, and characterized to evaluate its potential as a biocontrol agent for E. coli O157:H7. METHODS KFS-EC was isolated from slaughterhouse in Korea. Morphological analysis, genomic analysis and several physiological tests were performed to identify and characterize the KFS-EC. RESULTS A specificity test indicated KFS-EC was strictly specific to E. coli O157:H7 strains among 60 bacterial strains tested. Morphological and phylogenetic analyses confirmed that KFS-EC belongs to the Rb49virus genus, Tevenvirinae subfamily, and the Myoviridae family of phages. KFS-EC genome consists of 164,725 bp and a total of 270 coding sequence features, of which 114 open reading frames (ORFs) were identified as phage functional genes. KFS-EC does not contain genes encoding lysogenic property and pathogenicity, which ensure its safe application. KFS-EC was relatively stable (~1 log decrease) under stressed conditions such as temperatures (20 °C-50 °C), pHs (3-11), organic solvents (ethanol and chloroform), and biocides (0.1% citric acid, 1% citric acid, and 0.1% peracetic acid). KFS-EC was able to inhibit E. coli O157:H7 efficiently at a multiplicity of infection (MOI) of 0.01 for 8 h with greater inhibitory effect and durability and was stable at 4 °C and 22 °C over a 12-week storage period. CONCLUSIONS Our results suggest that KFS-EC could be used as a biocontrol agent to E. coli O157:H7.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND AIMS Although the Internet has provided convenience and efficiency in many areas of everyday life, problems stemming from Internet use have also been identified, such as Internet gaming disorder (IGD). Internet addiction, which includes IGD, can be viewed as a behavioral addiction or impulse control disorder. This study investigated the altered functional and effective connectivity of the core brain networks in individuals with IGD compared to healthy controls (HCs). METHODS Forty-five adults with IGD and 45 HCs were included in this study. To examine the brain networks related to personality traits that influence problematic online gaming, the left and right central executive network (CEN) and the salience network (SN) were included in the analysis. Also, to examine changes in major brain network topographies, we analyzed the default mode network (DMN). RESULTS IGD participants showed lower functional connectivity between the dorsal lateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) and other regions in the CEN than HC participants during resting state. Also, IGD participants revealed reduced functional connectivity between the dorsal anterior cingulate cortex and other regions in the SN and lower functional connectivity in the medial prefrontal cortex of the anterior DMN. Notably, in IGD individuals but not HC individuals, there was a positive correlation between IGD severity and effective connectivity and a positive correlation between reward sensitivity and effective connectivity within the ventral striatum of the SN. CONCLUSIONS Problematic online gaming was associated with neurofunctional alterations, impairing the capacity of core brain networks.
