Abstract
We report the first observation of a_{0}^{0}(980)-f_{0}(980) mixing in the decays of J/ψ→ϕf_{0}(980)→ϕa_{0}^{0}(980)→ϕηπ^{0} and χ_{c1}→a_{0}^{0}(980)π^{0}→f_{0}(980)π^{0}→π^{+}π^{-}π^{0}, using data samples of 1.31×10^{9} J/ψ events and 4.48×10^{8} ψ(3686) events accumulated with the BESIII detector. The signals of f_{0}(980)→a_{0}^{0}(980) and a_{0}^{0}(980)→f_{0}(980) mixing are observed at levels of statistical significance of 7.4σ and 5.5σ, respectively. The corresponding branching fractions and mixing intensities are measured and the constraint regions on the coupling constants, g_{a_{0}K^{+}K^{-}} and g_{f_{0}K^{+}K^{-}}, are estimated. The results improve the understanding of the nature of a_{0}^{0}(980) and f_{0}(980).

Abstract
Using a low background data sample of 9.7×10^{5} J/ψ→γη^{'}, η^{'}→γπ^{+}π^{-} events, which are 2 orders of magnitude larger than those from the previous experiments, recorded with the BESIII detector at BEPCII, the decay dynamics of η^{'}→γπ^{+}π^{-} are studied with both model-dependent and model-independent approaches. The contributions of ω and the ρ(770)-ω interference are observed for the first time in the decays η^{'}→γπ^{+}π^{-} in both approaches. Additionally, a contribution from the box anomaly or the ρ(1450) resonance is required in the model-dependent approach, while the process specific part of the decay amplitude is determined in the model-independent approach.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Severe burn causes acute lung injury in many victims, but the related mechanisms have been barely investigated. microRNAs (miRNAs) important regulators in numerous physiological and pathophysiological process. However, the roles of miRNAs in burn lung injury are untested. METHODS Six healthy male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly assigned into burn and sham groups. Lung injury was evaluated by hematoxylin and eosin (HE) staining at 24 h after injury. Differentially expressed miRNAs were determined by array hybridization and verified by real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR). Bioinformatics analysis was undertaken to predict the target genes. Gene Ontology and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes databases were employed to identify potentially related biological processes and pathways, respectively. Neutrophil infiltration and apoptosis of the lung were confirmed by immunohistochemical staining of myeloperoxidase (MPO) and terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP nick-end labeling (TUNEL). RESULTS HE sections showed obvious lung injury, and 21 upregulated and three downregulated miRNAs were detected. Target genes of these miRNAs were most highly enriched in inflammation and apoptosis related GO biological processes and pathways. Inflammation and apoptosis were confirmed by MPO and TUNEL staining. CONCLUSION The differentially expressed miRNAs most likely participate in burn-induced lung injury by being involved in inflammation and apoptosis.

Abstract
The cross section of the e^{+}e^{-}→Λ_{c}^{+}Λ[over ¯]_{c}^{-} process is measured with unprecedented precision using data collected with the BESIII detector at sqrt[s]=4574.5, 4580.0, 4590.0 and 4599.5 MeV. The nonzero cross section near the Λ_{c}^{+}Λ[over ¯]_{c}^{-} production threshold is cleared. At center-of-mass energies sqrt[s]=4574.5 and 4599.5 MeV, the higher statistics data enable us to measure the Λ_{c} polar angle distributions. From these, the Λ_{c} electric over magnetic form-factor ratios (|G_{E}/G_{M}|) are measured for the first time. They are found to be 1.14±0.14±0.07 and 1.23±0.05±0.03, respectively, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic.

Acute downregulation of miR-155 leads to a reduced collagen synthesis through attenuating macrophages inflammatory factor secretion by targeting SHIP1. J Mol Histol 2018; 49:165-174. Abstract
Fibrosis, tightly associated with fibroblasts collagen synthesis, is related closely with inflammatory response. Our previously study found that acute downregulation of miR-155 at wound sites leads to a reduced fibrosis, however its particular mechanism is unclear. Herein, we aimed to explore the mechanism of miR-155 in reducing fibrosis. We first found that down-regulation of miR-155 inhibited macrophages transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1) and IL-1β secretion. Next, we found that co-cultured with macrophages increased the proliferation and collagen synthesis of fibroblasts, and downregulation of miR-155 in macrophages could effectively attenuate the accelerative effects. We further identified SH2 domain containing inositol-5-phosphatase 1 (SHIP1) as a direct target of miR-155 in macrophages, and the expression of SHIP1 was negatively correlated with the level of miR-155. We further confirmed that PI3K/Akt pathway was involved in this process. Last, we found that downregulation of miR-155 leads to a reduced fibrosis in sever burn rat. Taken together, these results indicate that down-regulation of miR-155 leads to a reduced fibroblasts proliferation and collagen synthesis through attenuating macrophages TGF-β1 and IL-1β secretion by targeting SHIP1 via PI3K/Akt pathway, suggesting its potential therapeutic effects on the treatment of skin fibrosis.

Abstract
BackgroundExposure to early life adversity (ELA) has been identified as a major risk factor in the development of major depressive disorder (MDD). It is hypothesized that a mediating mechanism may be environmentally induced alterations in gene function. In our REDEEM (Research in depression: endocrinology, epigenetics and neuroimaging) project we are examining possible epigenetic difference in some previously investigated target genes relevant to depression. To this end, methylation of the following genes were measured: NR3C1 (HPA axis), SLC6A4 (serotonin neurotransmitter function), and CD3ɛ (T cell receptor gene). We also looked at possible trans-generational transmission of epigenetic markers in a mother-baby sample.MethodsDNA was isolated from depressed patients and controls and babies and a portion of the above genes, encompassing our regions of interest, were amplified by PCR. Percentage methylation levels were measured by pyrosequencing. mRNA was also measured for some gene products to see if function was related to methylation. HPA axis function was measured with serial saliva samples throughout the day.Resultsto date: Methylation was increased in the CD3ɛ promoter in depressed subjects relative to controls. In the total group, those exposed to ELA had significantly increased methylation at this site. Levels of CD3ɛ mRNA levels were inversely related to methylation. There were some relationships between maternal ELA and baby methylation at the sites examined.ConclusionsConsistent with an allostatic model of ELA damage, our findings suggest an alteration in epigenetic function in acquired immunity and the HPA axis, mediated by ELA. Findings will be discussed.Disclosure of interestThe authors have not supplied their declaration of competing interest.

Abstract
The cross section for the process e^{+}e^{-}→π^{+}π^{-}J/ψ is measured precisely at center-of-mass energies from 3.77 to 4.60 GeV using 9 fb^{-1} of data collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII storage ring. Two resonant structures are observed in a fit to the cross section. The first resonance has a mass of (4222.0±3.1±1.4) MeV/c^{2} and a width of (44.1±4.3±2.0) MeV, while the second one has a mass of (4320.0±10.4±7.0) MeV/c^{2} and a width of (101.4_{-19.7}^{+25.3}±10.2) MeV, where the first errors are statistical and second ones are systematic. The first resonance agrees with the Y(4260) resonance reported by previous experiments. The precision of its resonant parameters is improved significantly. The second resonance is observed in e^{+}e^{-}→π^{+}π^{-}J/ψ for the first time. The statistical significance of this resonance is estimated to be larger than 7.6σ. The mass and width of the second resonance agree with the Y(4360) resonance reported by the BABAR and Belle experiments within errors. Finally, the Y(4008) resonance previously observed by the Belle experiment is not confirmed in the description of the BESIII data.

Abstract
The cross sections of e^{+}e^{-}→π^{+}π^{-}h_{c} at center-of-mass energies from 3.896 to 4.600 GeV are measured using data samples collected with the BESIII detector operating at the Beijing Electron Positron Collider. The cross sections are found to be of the same order of magnitude as those of e^{+}e^{-}→π^{+}π^{-}J/ψ and e^{+}e^{-}→π^{+}π^{-}ψ(2S), but the line shape is inconsistent with the Y states observed in the latter two modes. Two structures are observed in the e^{+}e^{-}→π^{+}π^{-}h_{c} cross sections around 4.22 and 4.39 GeV/c^{2}, which we call Y(4220) and Y(4390), respectively. A fit with a coherent sum of two Breit-Wigner functions results in a mass of (4218.4_{-4.5}^{+5.5}±0.9) MeV/c^{2} and a width of (66.0_{-8.3}^{+12.3}±0.4) MeV for the Y(4220), and a mass of (4391.5_{-6.8}^{+6.3}±1.0) MeV/c^{2} and a width of (139.5_{-20.6}^{+16.2}±0.6) MeV for the Y(4390), where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second ones systematic. The statistical significance of Y(4220) and Y(4390) is 10σ over one structure assumption.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Previous findings have been mixed regarding the relationship between maternal depressive symptoms and child cognitive development. The objective of this study was to systematically review relevant literature and to perform a meta-analysis. METHOD Three electronic databases (PubMed, EMBASE, PsycINFO) were searched. Initial screening was conducted independently by two reviewers. Studies selected for detailed review were read in full and included based on a set of criteria. Data from selected studies were abstracted onto a standardized form. Meta-analysis using the inverse variance approach and random-effects models was conducted. RESULTS The univariate analysis of 14 studies revealed that maternal depressive symptoms are related to lower cognitive scores among children aged ⩽56 months (Cohen's d = -0.25, 95% CI -0.39 to -0.12). The synthesis of studies controlling for confounding variables showed that the mean cognitive score for children 6-8 weeks post-partum whose mothers had high depressive symptoms during the first few weeks postpartum was approximately 4.2 units lower on the Mental Developmental Index (MDI) of the Bayley Scales of Infant and Toddler Development (BSID) compared with children with non-symptomatic mothers (B̂ = -4.17, 95% CI -8.01 to -0.32). CONCLUSIONS The results indicated that maternal depressive symptoms are related to lower cognitive scores in early infancy, after adjusting for confounding factors. An integrated approach for supporting child cognitive development may include program efforts that promote maternal mental health in addition to family economic wellbeing, responsive caregiving, and child nutrition.

Abstract
Using 567 pb^{-1} of data collected with the BESIII detector at a center-of-mass energy of sqrt[s]=4.599 GeV, near the Λ_{c}^{+}Λ[over ¯]_{c}^{-} threshold, we study the singly Cabibbo-suppressed decays Λ_{c}^{+}→pπ^{+}π^{-} and Λ_{c}^{+}→pK^{+}K^{-}. By normalizing with respect to the Cabibbo-favored decay Λ_{c}^{+}→pK^{-}π^{+}, we obtain ratios of branching fractions: [B(Λ_{c}^{+}→pπ^{+}π^{-})/B(Λ_{c}^{+}→pK^{-}π^{+})]=(6.70±0.48±0.25)%, [B(Λ_{c}^{+}→pϕ)/B(Λ_{c}^{+}→pK^{-}π^{+})]=(1.81±0.33±0.13)%, and [B(Λ_{c}^{+}→pK^{+}K_{non-ϕ}^{-})/B(Λ_{c}^{+}→pK^{-}π^{+})]=(9.36±2.22±0.71)×10^{-3}, where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. The absolute branching fractions are also presented. Among these measurements, the decay Λ_{c}^{+}→pπ^{+}π^{-} is observed for the first time, and the precision of the branching fraction for Λ_{c}^{+}→pK^{+}K_{non-ϕ}^{-} and Λ_{c}^{+}→pϕ is significantly improved.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE There are currently no local data on the sperm retrieval and pregnancy rates in in-vitro fertilisation and testicular sperm extraction cycles, especially with regard to the presence of genetic abnormalities. This study aimed to determine the sperm retrieval and pregnancy rates in infertile couples who underwent in-vitro fertilisation and testicular sperm extraction for non-obstructive azoospermia. METHODS This retrospective case series was conducted at a tertiary assisted reproduction unit in Hong Kong. Men with non-obstructive azoospermia who underwent in-vitro fertilisation and testicular sperm extraction between January 2001 and December 2013 were included. The main outcome measures were sperm retrieval and pregnancy rates. RESULTS During the study period, 89 men with non-obstructive azoospermia underwent in-vitro fertilisation and testicular sperm extraction. Sperm was successfully retrieved in 40 (44.9%) men. There was no statistically significant difference in the sperm retrieval rate of those with karyotypic abnormalities (2/5, 40.0% vs 28/61, 45.9%; P=1.000) and AZFc microdeletion (3/6, 50.0% vs 28/61, 45.9%; P=1.000) compared with those without. Sperms were successfully retrieved in patients who had mosaic Klinefelter syndrome (2/3, 66.7%) but not in the patient with non-mosaic Klinefelter syndrome. No sperms were found in men with AZFa or AZFb microdeletions. Pregnancy test was positive in 15 (16.9%) patients and the clinical pregnancy rate was 13.5% (12/89) per cycle. The clinical pregnancy rate per transfer was 34.3% (12/35). CONCLUSIONS The sperm retrieval rate and clinical pregnancy rate per initiated cycle in men undergoing in-vitro fertilisation and testicular sperm extraction in our unit were 44.9% and 13.5%, respectively. No sperms could be retrieved in the presence of AZFa and AZFb microdeletions, but karyotype and AZFc microdeletion abnormalities otherwise did not predict the success of sperm retrieval in couples undergoing in-vitro fertilisation and testicular sperm extraction. Genetic tests are important prior to testicular sperm extraction for patient selection and genetic counselling.

Abstract
Skeletal muscle atrophy is a common clinical feature among patients with severe burns. Previous studies have shown that miRNAs play critical roles in the regulation of stress-induced skeletal muscle atrophy. Our previous study showed that burn-induced skeletal muscle atrophy is mediated by miR-628. In this study, compared with sham rats, rats subjected to burn injury exhibited skeletal muscle atrophy, as well as significantly decreased insulin receptor substrate 1 (IRS1) protein expression and significantly increased skeletal muscle cell apoptosis. An miRNA array showed that the levels of miR-628, a potential regulator of IRS1 protein translation, were also clearly elevated. Second, L6 myocyte cell apoptosis increased after induction of miR-628 expression, and IRS1 and p-Akt protein expression decreased significantly. Expression of the cell apoptosis-related proteins FoxO3a and cleaved caspase 3 also increased after induction of miR-628 expression. Finally, forced miR-628 expression in normal rats resulted in increased cell apoptosis and skeletal muscle atrophy, as well as changes in IRS1/Akt/FoxO3a signaling pathway activity consistent with the changes in protein expression described above. Inhibiting cell apoptosis with Z-VAD-FMK resulted in alleviation of burn-induced skeletal muscle atrophy. In general, our results indicate that miR-628 mediates burn-induced skeletal muscle atrophy by regulating the IRS1/Akt/FoxO3a signaling pathway.

TSG-6 secreted by human umbilical cord-MSCs attenuates severe burn-induced excessive inflammation via inhibiting activations of P38 and JNK signaling. Sci Rep 2016; 6:30121. Abstract
The hMSCs have become a promising approach for inflammation treatment in acute phase. Our previous study has demonstrated that human umbilical cord-MSCs could alleviate the inflammatory reaction of severely burned wound. In this study, we further investigated the potential role and mechanism of the MSCs on severe burn-induced excessive inflammation. Wistar rats were randomly divided into following groups: Sham, Burn, Burn+MSCs, Burn+MAPKs inhibitors, and Burn, Burn+MSCs, Burn+Vehicle, Burn+siTSG-6, Burn+rhTSG-6 in the both experiments. It was found that MSCs could only down-regulate P38 and JNK signaling, but had no effect on ERK in peritoneal macrophages of severe burn rats. Furthermore, suppression of P38 and JNK activations significantly reduced the excessive inflammation induced by severe burn. TSG-6 was secreted by MSCs using different inflammatory mediators. TSG-6 from MSCs and recombinant human (rh)TSG-6 all significantly reduced activations of P38 and JNK signaling induced by severe burn and then attenuated excessive inflammations. On the contrary, knockdown TSG-6 in the cells significantly increased phosphorylation of P38 and JNK signaling and reduced therapeutic effect of the MSCs on excessive inflammation. Taken together, this study suggested TSG-6 from MSCs attenuated severe burn-induced excessive inflammation via inhibiting activation of P38 and JNK signaling.

Abstract
MicroRNA 26a (Mir-26a) has been reported to play functions in cellular differentiation, cell growth, cell apoptosis, and metastasis. However, the role of Mir-26a in transplant rejection has never been investigated. Full-thickness skin grafts 1-2 cm in diameter were obtained from the tail-skin CBA/J donor mice and transplanted onto the back of wild-type C57Bl/6 recipient mice. Vectors encoding pre-Mir-26a (LV-26a) and an empty lentiviral vector (LV-Con) delivered approximately 2 × 10(7) transforming units of recombinant lentivirus were injected to mice once through the tail vein. Mir-26a overexpression results in prolonged skin allograft survival (MST = 9.5 days in LV-Con mice; MST = 22 days in LV-26a mice. P < 0.01) and promoted regulatory T cells (Tregs) expansion. The prolonged skin allograft survival induced by LV-26a was abrogated by depletion of Tregs with anti-CD25 antibodies. Mir-26a significantly promoted IL-10 expression and suppressed the expression of IL-6, IL-17, and IFN-γ. Furthermore, IL-6 overexpression led to complete suppression of the Mir-26a-induced upregulation of Foxp3. The prolonged allograft survival induced by LV-Mir-26a was also completely abrogated by IL-6 overexpression. In conclusion, Mir-26a prolongs skin allograft survival and promotes Tregs expansion in part through inhibition of IL-6 expression.

Abstract
Facial traumatic events are commonly encountered in plastic and reconstructive surgery. Primary reconstruction is a reliable procedure with function and aesthetic considerations. We conduct a retrospective study of the experience of reconstructing facial traumatic defects in the first stage. One hundred and thirty-two cases (aged 18-65) with facial traumatic events were recruited in the study from 2008 to 2014. Facial traumatic events included injured soft tissue, maxillofacial fractures and facial nerve rupture, which were repaired primarily. After primary reconstruction, encouraging functional and aesthetic outcomes were attained. Ten cases were re-operated to reconstruct partial nasal defect. Four patients who had trouble with disabled occluding relations sought help from dentists. Inconspicuous scar and function restoration were presented. Facial wounds should be reconstructed in the first stage as far as possible. Then, satisfactory functional and aesthetic results can be achieved. However, combined injury should be carefully considered in those traumatic cases before we carry out the reconstructive surgery on the face.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Respiratory dysfunction is a frequent complication after severe burn injury. Respiratory muscle atrophy may induce respiratory dysfunction due to insufficient inspiratory motive power. Accumulated evidence suggests that apoptosis is very important in skeletal muscle atrophy in multiple pathologic conditions. Therefore, we hypothesize that myonuclear apoptosis contributes to diaphragm atrophy induced by burn injury, and death receptor signaling activation plays a role in this process. METHODS Wistar rats in the burn-injured group were subjected to a full-thickness scald injury around 40% of total body surface area. Diaphragm samples were examined for myonuclear apoptosis by transmission electron microscope, terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated nick end labeling assay, and immunohistochemistry for caspase-3. Serum level of apoptotic ligands were assessed by ELISA. Activation of death receptor signaling was examined by Western blotting. RESULTS Burn injury resulted in significant reductions of diaphragm muscle mass and myofiber cross-section area. Apoptosis in diaphragm appeared from day 1 and peaked on day 4 after injury. The level of soluble TNF-related apoptosis-inducing ligand and the ratio of Fas ligand to soluble Fas in serum significantly increased after burn injury. In diaphragm of burnt animals, the expressions of proapoptotic proteins, such as cleaved caspase-8, cleaved caspase-3, and Bax-to-Bcl-2 ratio were upregulated, whereas expression of pAkt, an antiapoptotic protein, was downregulated. Immunohistochemistry revealed that the most of the caspase-3 was expressed in myofiber nuclei and their surrounding cytoplasm area in tissue sections. CONCLUSIONS Severe burn injury induces myonuclear apoptosis in diaphragm, which could be a contributor to diaphragm muscle atrophy. Activation of death receptor signaling may be a mechanism of apoptosis in diaphragm.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To explore the phenotypic changes of epidermal stem cells (ESCs) differentiating into sweat glands cells (SGCs) in vitro and its mechanisms. METHODS ESCs and SGCs were isolated and cultured in vitro, which were identified using immunofluorescence staining. ESCs at passage 2 were divided into 4 groups: ESCs and SGCs co-cultured by Transwell plates in group A, ESCs cultured by simply adding sweat supernatant in group B, ESCs and SGCs co-cultured on Transwell plate adding epidermal growth factor (EGF) (60 ng/mL) in group C, and ESCs and SGCs co-cultured on transwell plate adding PD98059 (10 mmol/L) in group D. The inverted microscope was used for observing the morphology of ESCs, flow cytometry for detecting ESCs positive phenotype, and Western blot for exploring mitogen-activated protein kinase/extracellular signal regulated kinase (MAPK/ERK) pathway. RESULTS The morphology observation and immunofluorescence staining suggested that cultured cells were ESCs and SGCs. The inverted phase contrast microscope observation showed that cells had similar morphological changes, with flat polygonal shape at 9 days in groups A, C, and D; cells had slow morphological change in group B, and had similar change to that of other groups at 12 days. Significant decreasing of beta1-integrin expression and increasing of carcino-embryonic antigen (CEA) expression of ESCs were observed in group A when compared with group B, which was inhibited by EGF (group C) and enhanced by PD98059 (group D), and there were significant differences among groups A, C, and D (P<0.05). High level of ERK expression was displayed in 4 groups, but it was significantly lower in group B than the other 3 groups (P<0.05). The expression of phosphorylation ERK was the highest in group A and was the lowest in group C, showing significant difference among 4 groups (P<0.05). CONCLUSION ESCs can be induced to differentiate into SGCs with the phenotypic changes under the condition of co-cultured by Transwell plates. The MAPK/ERK pathway plays a key role in the diffrentation of ESCs into GCCs

A double-blind randomised controlled trial on the effect of dehydroepiandrosterone on ovarian reserve markers, ovarian response and number of oocytes in anticipated normal ovarian responders. BJOG 2015; 123:1097-105. Abstract
OBJECTIVE To assess the effect of dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) on antral follicle count (AFC), ovarian response to a standard low dose of gonadotrophin stimulation and number of oocytes in anticipated normal responders undergoing in vitro fertilisation (IVF). DESIGN Randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled study. SETTING Tertiary reproductive unit. POPULATION Seventy-two subfertile women with AFC of 5-15 scheduled for IVF. METHODS Eligible women were randomised into the DHEA group (n = 36), who received DHEA (GNC(®) , 25 mg three times a day), or the placebo group (n = 36), who received placebo, starting from 12 weeks before the scheduled IVF treatment according to a computer-generated randomisation list. Monthly assessment of AFC, serum anti-Mullerian hormone (AMH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) levels, ovarian response to a standard dose of gonadotrophin stimulation at week 8 and the number of oocytes obtained were compared. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES The primary outcome was AFC after 12 weeks of DHEA or placebo. RESULTS DHEA for 12 weeks prior to IVF treatment in anticipated normal responders leads to significantly higher serum and follicular DHEA-S and testosterone relative to placebo. However, no significant differences in AFC, AMH and FSH, ovarian response to standard-dose ovarian stimulation and IVF cycle outcomes can be detected. CONCLUSION No significant differences in AFC, ovarian response to a standard low dose of gonadotrophin stimulation and number of oocytes obtained were detected in anticipated normal responders receiving 12 weeks of DHEA prior to IVF treatment relative to placebo. TWEETABLE ABSTRACT No difference in ovarian response markers in normal responders receiving 12 weeks of DHEA.

Abstract
Quality of life and functional recovery after burn injury is the final goal of burn care, especially as most of burn patients survive the injury due to advanced medical science. However, dysfunction, disfigurement, contractures, psychological problems and other discomforts due to burns and the consequent scars are common, and physical therapy and occupational therapy provide alternative treatments for these problems of burn patients. This guideline, organized by the Chinese Burn Association and Chinese Association of Burn Surgeons aims to emphasize the importance of team work in burn care and provide a brief introduction of the outlines of physical and occupational therapies during burn treatment, which is suitable for the current medical circumstances of China. It can be used as the start of the tools for burn rehabilitation.
