Abstract
In order to compare the pathogenicity of different Tembusu virus (TMUV) strains from geese, ducks and chickens, 56 5-day-old Cherry Valley ducklings which were divided into 7 groups and infected intramuscularly with 7´105 PFU/ml per duck of six challenge virus stocks. The clinical signs, weight gain, mortality, macroscopic and microscopic lesions, virus loads in sera of 1, 3, 5, 7, 11 and 14 dpi and serum antibody titers were examined. The results showed that these viruses could make the young ducks sick, but the clinical signs differed with the different species-original strains. All the experimental groups lose markedly in weight gain compared to the control, but there were no obvious distinctions in weight gains, as well as macroscopic and microscopic lesions of dead ducks between the infected groups. However, the groups of waterfowl-derived strains (from geese and ducks) showed more serious clinical signs and higher relative expressions of virus loads in sera than those from chicken-derived. The mortality of waterfowl groups was 37.5%, and the greatest mortality of chicken groups was 12.5%. The serum antibodies of the geese-species group JS804 appeared earlier and were higher in the titers than others. Taken toghter, the pathogenicity of waterfowl-derived TMUV was more serious than chicken-derived TMUV and JS804 could be chosen as one TMUV vaccine strain to protect from the infection.

Abstract
In this study, in-situ and laboratory γ-ray spectroscopy techniques were compared to evaluate the activity concentration of natural radionuclides in soil. The activity concentrations of 238U (226Ra), 232Th, and 40K in the soil in 11 sites were simultaneously measured with in-situ portable HPGe and the NaI(Tl) detectors. In parallel, 55 soil samples collected from these sites were analyzed with a laboratory γ-ray spectroscopy technique (HPGe). A strong correlation was observed between the in-situ and laboratory HPGe techniques with a linear correlation coefficient (R2) of 0.99 for 226Ra and 232Th and 0.975 for 40K, respectively. The in-situ HPGe technique shows a strong correlation with the NaI(Tl) detector. γ-Rays cps of 226Ra, 232Th, and 40K of the NaI (Tl) detector were then converted to specific activities (Bq kg-1 unit) in soil using the empirical formulas obtained in this study. The absorbed dose rate in air at 1 m height above ground due to these radionuclides was calculated using the Beck's formula and the results were compared with measured values obtained with an high pressure ionization chamber. The results of the calculated and measured dose rate show a strong correlation of R2 = 0.96. The reliability and precision of analytical spectroscopy techniques of radioactivity and radiation dose were confirmed in this work.

Abstract
Zinc-oxide (ZnO) is widely used as an n-type electron transporting layer (ETL) for quantum dot (QD) light-emitting diode (QLED) because various metal doping can be possible and ZnO nanoparticle can be processed at low temperatures. We report here a Li- and Mg-doped ZnO, MLZO, which is used for ETL of highly efficient and long lifetime QLEDs. Co-doping, Mg and Li, in ZnO increases its band gap and electrical resistivity and thus can enhance charge balance in emission layer (EML). It is found also that the O-H concentration at the oxide surface decreases and exciton decay time of QDs on the metal oxide increases by co-doping in ZnO. The inverted green QLEDs with MLZO ETL exhibits the maximum current efficiency (CEmax) of 69.1 cd/A, power efficiency (PEmax) of 73.8 lm/W, and external quantum efficiency (EQEmax) of 18.4%. This is at least two times higher compared with the efficiencies of the QLEDs with Mg-doped ZnO ETL. The optimum Li and Mg concentrations are found to be 10% each. The deep-red, red, light-blue, and deep-blue QLEDs with MLZO ETLs exhibit the CEmax of 6.0, 22.3, 1.9, and 0.5 cd/A, respectively. The MLZO introduced here can be widely used as ETL of highly efficient QLEDs.

Abstract
UNLABELLED We report a low work function (2.81 eV), Rb2CO3-doped polyethyleneimine ethoxylated (PEIE) which is used for highly efficient and long-lifetime, inverted organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). Doping Rb2CO3 into PEIE decreases the work function of Li-doped ZnO (LZO) by 1.0 eV and thus significantly improves electron injection ability into the emission layer (EML). The inverted OLED with PEIE:Rb2CO3 interfacial layer (IL) exhibits higher efficiency and longer operation lifetime than those of the device with a PEIE IL. It is found also that Mg-doped ZnO (MZO) can be used instead of LZO as electron transporting layer. MZO/PEIE Rb2CO3 shows a low work function of 2.81 eV. The OLED with MZO/PEIE:Rb2CO3 exhibits low operating voltage of 5.0 V at 1000 cd m-2 and low efficiency roll-off of 11.8% at high luminance of 10 000 cd m-2. The results are due to the suppressed exciton quenching at the MZO/organic EML interface.

Abstract
Incorporation of rubidium (Rb) into mixed lead halide perovskites has recently achieved record power conversion efficiency and excellent stability in perovskite solar cells. Inspired by these tremendous advances in photovoltaics, this study demonstrates the impact of Rb incorporation into MAPbBr3-based light emitters. Rb partially substitutes MA (methyl ammonium), resulting in a mixed cation perovskite with the formula MA(1- x)Rb xPbBr3. Pure MAPbBr3 crystallizes into a polycrystalline layer with highly defective sub-micrometer grains. However, the addition of a small amount of Rb forms MA(1- x)Rb xPbBr3 nanocrystals (10 nm) embedded in an amorphous matrix of MA/Rb Br. These nanocrystals grow into defect-free sub-micrometer-sized crystallites with further addition of Rb, resulting in a 3-fold increase in exciton lifetime when the molar ratio of MABr/RbBr is 1:1. A thin film fabricated with a 1:1 molar ratio of MABr/RbBr showed the best electroluminescent properties with a current efficiency (CE) of 9.45 cd/A and a luminance of 7694 cd/m2. These values of CE and luminance are, respectively, 19 and 10 times larger than those achieved by pure MAPbBr3 devices (0.5 cd/A and 790 cd/m2). We believe this work provides important information on the future compositional optimization of Rb+-based mixed cation perovskites for obtaining high-performance light-emitting diodes.

Abstract
Perovskite quantum dots have recently emerged as a promising light source for optoelectronic applications. However, integrating them into devices while preserving their outstanding optical properties remains challenging. Due to their ionic nature, perovskite quantum dots are extremely sensitive and degrade on applying the simplest processes. To maintain their colloidal stability, they are surrounded by organic ligands; these prevent efficient charge carrier injection in devices and have to be removed. Here we report on a simple method, where a moderate thermal process followed by exposure to UV in air can efficiently remove ligands and increase the photo-luminescence of the room temperature synthesized perovskite quantum dot thin films. Annealing is accompanied by a red shift of the emission wavelength, usually attributed to the coalescence and irreversible degradation of the quantum dots. We show that it is actually related to the relaxation of the quantum dots upon the ligand removal, without the creation of non-radiative recombining defects. The quantum dot surface, as devoid of ligands, is subsequently photo-oxidized and smoothened upon exposure to UV in air, which drastically enhances their photo-luminescence. This adequate combination of treatments improves by more than an order of magnitude the performances of perovskite quantum dot light emitting diodes.

Abstract
Herein, we report all solution-processed green quantum-dot light-emitting diodes (G-QLEDs) by introducing a perfluorinated ionomer (PFI, Nafion 117) into quantum dots (QDs) to improve hole injection. To reduce the energy level mismatch between the hole transporting layer (HTL) and QDs and exciton quenching on the metal-oxide surface, a PFI-mixed copper-doped nickel oxide (Cu-NiO) HTL was introduced for G-QLEDs. Mixing Cu-NiO with a PFI increases the work function and induces phase separation between Cu-NiO and PFI; thus, energy band bending occurs on the surface such that effective hole injection can be possible. The phase-separated PFI molecules on HTL affect the thickness and compactness of G-QDs and make a smooth interface between G-QDs and HTL. The G-QLED with a PFI and Cu-NiO mixture HTL exhibits the maximum current efficiency (CEmax), power efficiency (PEmax), and external quantum efficiency (EQEmax) of 7.3 cd A-1, 2.1 lm W-1, and 2.14%, respectively, which are about 4 times those of the QLED with a Cu-NiO HTL.

Abstract
Nano-structured silicon is an attractive alternative anode material to conventional graphite in lithium-ion batteries. However, the anode designs with higher silicon concentrations remain to be commercialized despite recent remarkable progress. One of the most critical issues is the fundamental understanding of the lithium-silicon Coulombic efficiency. Particularly, this is the key to resolve subtle yet accumulatively significant alterations of Coulombic efficiency by various paths of lithium-silicon processes over cycles. Here, we provide quantitative and qualitative insight into how the irreversible behaviors are altered by the processes under amorphous volume changes and hysteretic amorphous-crystalline phase transformations. Repeated latter transformations over cycles, typically featured as a degradation factor, can govern the reversibility behaviors, improving the irreversibility and eventually minimizing cumulative irreversible lithium consumption. This is clearly different from repeated amorphous volume changes with different lithiation depths. The mechanism behind the correlations is elucidated by electrochemical and structural probing.

Abstract
We report solution-processed metal-oxide p-n junction, Li-doped CuO (Li:CuO) and Li-doped ZnO (Li:ZnO), as a charge generation junction (CGJ) in quantum-dot light-emitting diode (QLED) at reverse bias. Efficient charge generation is demonstrated in a stack of air-annealed Li:CuO and Li:ZnO layers in QLEDs. Air annealing of Li:ZnO on Li:CuO turns out to be a key process to decrease oxygen vacancy (Vo) and increase the copper (II) oxide (CuO) fraction at the Li:CuO/Li:ZnO interface for efficient charge generation. Green QLEDs incorporating Li:CuO/Li:ZnO CGJ show the maximum current and power efficiencies of 35.4 cd/A and 33.5 lm/W, respectively.

Abstract
The ITER vacuum ultra-violet (VUV) core survey spectrometer has been designed as a 5-channel spectral system so that the high spectral resolving power of 200-500 could be achieved in the wavelength range of 2.4-160 nm. To verify the design of the ITER VUV core survey spectrometer, a two-channel prototype spectrometer was developed. As a subsequent step of the prototype test, the prototype VUV spectrometer has been operated at KSTAR since the 2012 experimental campaign. From impurity injection experiments in the years 2015 and 2016, strong emission lines, such as Kr xxv 15.8 nm, Kr xxvi 17.9 nm, Ne vii 46.5 nm, Ne vi 40.2 nm, and an array of largely unresolved tungsten lines (14-32 nm) could be measured successfully, showing the typical photon number of 1013-1015 photons/cm2 s.
