Abstract
An 18-year-old man underwent surgery for correction of idiopathic scoliosis. Due to the requirement for intra-operative spinal cord monitoring, propofol and remifentanil total intravenous anaesthesia was chosen as the anaesthetic technique. Clonidine was given intra-operatively as part of his analgesic regimen. No long-acting opioids were administered. There was delayed emergence after switching off total intravenous anaesthesia and he remained sedated with a bispectral index of approximately 60 for 90 min. The common causes of delayed emergence were excluded. Shortly after administering naloxone, there was an increase in bispectral index and emergence from anaesthesia. We describe the successful use of naloxone to reverse the sedation effects of clonidine.

Abstract
Older people are more prone to memory distortions and errors than young people, but do not always show greater false recognition in the Deese-Roediger-McDermott (DRM) task. We report two preregistered experiments investigating whether recent findings of age-invariant false recognition extend to designs in which studied items are blocked. According to (Tun, P. A., Wingfield, A., Rosen, M. J., & Blanchard, L. (1998). Response latencies for false memories: Gist-based processes in normal aging. Psychology and Aging, 13(2), 230-241.), age effects on false recognition in the DRM task are due to a greater reliance on gist processing which is enhanced under blocked study conditions. Experiment 1 assessed false recognition in an online variant of the DRM task where words were presented visually, with incidental encoding. The results showed Bayesian evidence against greater false recognition by older adults, whether lures were semantically associated with studied lists, or perceptually related (presented in the same distinctive font as studied lists) or both. Experiment 2 used a typical DRM procedure with auditory lists and intentional encoding, closely reproducing (Tun, P. A., Wingfield, A., Rosen, M. J., & Blanchard, L. (1998). Response latencies for false memories: Gist-based processes in normal aging. Psychology and Aging, 13(2), 230-241.) Experiment 2 but omitting an initial test of recall. The results showed evidence against an age-related increase in critical lure false recognition under these conditions. Together, the data suggest that older people do not make more associative memory errors in recognition tests than young people.

Abstract
Abstract
A collaborative study was conducted to compare a new enrichment procedure for the TECRA® Salmonella Visual Immunoassay (TSVIA) with the reference method given in the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's Bacteriological Analytical Manual (7th Ed.). Three food types (milk powder, pepper, and soy flour) were analyzed in Australia and 3 food types (milk chocolate, dried egg, and raw turkey) were analyzed in the United States. Thirty-eight collaborators participated in the study. The TECRA method was evaluated using both Rappaport-Vassiliadis R10 (RV(R10)) and tetrathionate (TT) broths for selective enrichment. M broth cultures arising from each of the 2 selective enrichment broths were tested in the TSVIA using 2 individual wells, one for each selective broth, and a single well to test the pooled selective enrichment broths. The results for the pooled enrichment broths were reported elsewhere. This study presents the results for the use of single enrichment broths, i.e., RV(R10) only or TT only, with the TSVIA. No significant differences (p > 0.05) were observed for the pairwise comparison of the proportion of positive samples for either RV(R10) or TT used as a single enrichment broth for the TSVIA with that for the reference method.

Abstract
An analysis of daily water samples collected from an index site on Big Soos Creek, Washington indicated intra-annual differences in the concentrations of waterborne Nanophyetus salmincola. Waterborne concentrations, quantified as gene copies/L, peaked during the fall (October-November 2016), decreased to very low concentrations over the winter (January-March 2017), and then increased in the spring and throughout the summer. High waterborne concentrations of N. salmincola DNA (2 × 106 gene copies/L) corresponded with live N. salmincola cercariae (mean = 3 cercariae/L) that were detected in companion water samples. Spikes in waterborne N. salmincola concentrations in October and November typically coincided with increases in streamflow; this combination resulted in elevated infection pressures during high water events in the fall. The peak in waterborne N. salmincola concentrations corresponded with an accompanying peak in tissue parasite density (metacercariae/posterior kidney) in Coho Salmon Oncorhynchus kisutch that were reared in the untreated water.

Abstract
We introduce a new high-energy X-ray diffraction tomography technique for volumetric materials characterization. In this method, a conical shell beam is raster scanned through the samples. A central aperture optically couples the diffracted flux from the samples onto a pixelated energy-resolving detector. Snapshot measurements taken during the scan enable the construction of depth-resolved dark-field section images. The calculation of d-spacing values enables the mapping of material phase in a volumetric image. We demonstrate our technique using five ~15 mm thick, axially separated samples placed within a polymer tray of the type used routinely in airport security stations. Our method has broad analytical utility due to scalability in both scan size and X-ray energy. Additional application areas include medical diagnostics, materials science, and process control.
