Objective
The aim of this empirical study was to examine the accessibility of pediatric neuropsychological evaluations in the state of Arizona for non-English speaking children. To date, there is very limited research that analyzes the accessibility of neuropsychological evaluations. Diversity variables, such as primary language, can negatively impact assessment scores (Norbury & Sparks, 2013), leaving diverse individuals at risk of misdiagnosis when an assessment is not conducted in one’s primary language, nor normed on similar individuals (Mindt et al., 2008). The Center for Immigration Studies (2017) found 28% of school-age children in Arizona speak a foreign language, warranting a need for culturally-appropriate evaluations.
Method
Arizona pediatric neuropsychologists in non-hospital settings were identified via electronic resources: AzNS, AAPdN, AzPA, CSN, and AACN provider lists; LinkedIn; Google search. Participants met criteria for inclusion if “pediatric neuropsychological” evaluations were provided by a neuropsychologist on staff. “Pediatrics” is defined as 0-17. Neuropsychologists were contacted directly via phone for survey participation; verbal informed consent was obtained.
Results
Seventeen pediatric neuropsychologists were found in the state of Arizona, and 52.9% consented to participate in the survey (n = 9). All participants (100%, n = 9) stated they provide evaluations in English only, and refer-out for non-English evaluations.
Conclusions
There is a severe disparity in the access to care with respect to availability of culturally-appropriate evaluations in Arizona: a state with a large population of non-English speakers. The current study adds to the limited literature in this area, and sets the stage for continued professional advocacy efforts. Goals for future national research is critically discussed.

Objective
Research suggests that cocaine and methamphetamine differ in their impact on executive functions (EF). The Paced Auditory Serial Addition Test (PASAT) is used to assess working memory; a component of EF. The purpose of this meta-analysis was to examine the difference between the effect of these two drugs on PASAT scores.
Data Selection
Three researchers independently searched nine databases (e.g., PsycINFO, Pubmed, ProceedingsFirst), extracted required data, and calculated effect sizes. Inclusion criteria identified studies that had (a) compared cocaine or methamphetamine dependent groups to healthy controls and (b) matched groups on either age, education, or IQ (at least 2 out of 3). Studies were excluded if participants were reported to have Axis I diagnoses (other than cocaine or methamphetamine dependence) or comorbidities known to impact neuropsychological functioning. Six articles were coded and analyzed for the current study.
Data Synthesis
Cocaine studies showed a medium statistically significant effect size (g = 0.370, p = 0.020), while methamphetamine did not (g = 0.198, p = 0.172). There was no heterogeneity in effect sizes for both drugs. Subgroup analysis found no significant difference between the two drugs on the PASAT (Q-between = 0.646, p = 0.421).
Conclusions
In contrast to methamphetamine, cocaine is associated with poorer performance on PASAT. This is in line with previous studies that found that cocaine had more significant impact on EF than methamphetamine. Given the preliminary nature of this meta-analysis and the small number of studies on the topic, future primary studies should directly contrast how these two drugs impact EF.

The Category Test (CT) has consistently been found to be sensitive at detecting the effects of alcohol on the brain. However, this test has not been as widely used in examining the effects of methamphetamine. The current meta-analysis compared effect sizes of studies that have examined performance on the CT in alcohol versus methamphetamine dependent participants.

Alcohol studies showed a large effect size (g = 0.745, p < 0.001) while methamphetamine studies evidenced a moderate effect size (g = 0.406, p = 0.001); both without statistically significant heterogeneity (I2 = 0). Subgroup analysis revealed a statistically significant difference between the effect sizes from alcohol versus methamphetamine studies (Q-between = 5.647, p = 0.017).
Conclusions
The CT is sensitive to the effects of both alcohol and methamphetamine and should be considered when examining dependent patients who might exhibit problem solving, concept formation, and set loss difficulties in everyday living.

Abstract
Foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) is a major livestock disease with direct clinical impacts as well as indirect trade implications. Control through vaccination and stamping-out has successfully reduced or eradicated the disease from Europe and large parts of South America. However, sub-Saharan Africa remains endemically affected with 5/7 serotypes currently known to be circulating across the continent. This has significant implications both locally for livestock production and poverty reduction but also globally as it represents a major reservoir of viruses, which could spark new epidemics in disease free countries or vaccination zones. This paper describes the phylodynamics of serotypes A and SAT2 in Africa including recent isolates from Cameroon in Central Africa. We estimated the most recent common ancestor for serotype A was an East African virus from the 1930s (median 1937; HPD 1922-1950) compared to SAT2 which has a much older common ancestor from the early 1700s (median 1709; HPD 1502-1814). Detailed analysis of the different clades shows clearly that different clades are evolving and diffusing across the landscape at different rates with both serotypes having a particularly recent clade that is evolving and spreading more rapidly than other clades within their serotype. However, the lack of detailed sequence data available for Africa seriously limits our understanding of FMD epidemiology across the continent. A comprehensive view of the evolutionary history and dynamics of FMD viruses is essential to understand many basic epidemiological aspects of FMD in Africa such as the scale of persistence and the role of wildlife and thus the opportunities and scale at which vaccination and other controls could be applied. Finally we ask endemic countries to join the OIE/FAO supported regional networks and take advantage of new cheap technologies being rolled out to collect isolates and submit them to the World Reference Laboratory.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To establish "normal" ranges for synovial thickness and effusion detected by ultrasound (US) and to determine cut-offs associated with knee pain (KP) and radiographic knee osteoarthritis (RKOA) in the community. METHODS 147 women and 152 men ≥40 years old were randomly selected from the Nottingham KP and Related Health in the Community (KPIC) cohort (n = 9506). The "normal" range was established using the percentile method in 163 participants who had no KP and no RKOA. Optimal (maximum sensitivity and specificity) and high specificity (90%) cut-offs were established using receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis in a comparison between people with both KP and RKOA and normal controls. RESULTS Effusion and synovial hypertrophy differed by gender but not by age or laterality, therefore gender-specific reference limits were estimated. However, the "normal" ranges between men and women were similar for effusion (0-10.3 mm vs 0-9.8 mm), but different for synovial hypertrophy (0-6.8 mm vs 0-5.4 mm). Power Doppler Signal (PDS) in the healthy controls was uncommon (1.2% in men and 0.0% in women). The optimal cut-off was 7.4 mm for men and 5.3 mm for women for effusion, and 3.7 and 1.6 for hypertrophy respectively. The high specificity cut-off was 8.9 for men and 7.8 for women for effusion, and 5.8 and 4.2 for hypertrophy respectively. CONCLUSIONS US effusion and synovial hypertrophy but not PDS are common, but differ by gender, in community-derived people without painful knee OA. Currently used cut-offs for abnormality need reappraisal.

Abstract
Pediatric integrative therapy programs are essential to the treatment and well-being of patients. Identifying an effective integrative therapy model within conventional pediatric medical settings, however, often proves difficult. Our goal in this article is to explore varied solutions to increase access and inclusion of integrative therapies in an effort to promote best practice and holistic care. The main methods applied in this article are vignettes that illustrate how the integrative therapies in a metropolitan academic hospital successfully treat the patient by complementing conventional medicine. This leads to comprehensive care. The central finding of the article proposes viable solutions to increase interdisciplinary collaboration both internally within the institution and externally. Integrative therapists detail how they were able to increase visibility and yield best practice through increased educational initiatives and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE This systematic review and meta-analysis investigated surrogate measures of hip joint loading during walking in people with hip osteoarthritis (OA). METHODS Five databases were searched up to January 14th, 2018. Studies that measured hip joint moments in the frontal or sagittal plane during walking in people with hip OA and used either a healthy control group or the unaffected leg to compare hip joint moments were included. Standardised mean differences (SMD) in sagittal and frontal plane moments were pooled as appropriate, using a random effect approach. Methodological quality was assessed using the Downs and Black checklist. RESULTS Thirteen studies with 1,141 participants were eligible and suitable for meta-analyses. Overall, people with hip OA had lower sagittal (SMD -0.55 (95% confidence interval (CI) -1.00 to -0.10) and frontal plane moments (SMD -0.63 (95% CI -0.92, -0.34) compared to controls. However, substantial heterogeneity was observed (I2 ≤ 89%). Results by disease stage suggest that people with end-stage hip OA have lower sagittal (SMD -0.96; -1.30, -0.61; I2 = 69%) and frontal (SMD -1.17; 95% CI -1.71, -0.64; I2 = 85%) plane moments compared to controls. People with less severe hip OA than end-stage disease have comparable sagittal (SMD 0.37; 95% CI -0.17, 0.90; I2 = 69%) and frontal (SMD -0.24; 95% CI -0.76, 0.27; I2 = 51%) plane moments compared to controls. CONCLUSION Hip joint loading may be dependent on disease stage. People with end-stage hip OA under-loaded compared to controls, while those who were not awaiting hip joint replacement had comparable hip joint loads to controls.
