Abstract
Barremian-Bedoulian flint from the Vaucluse region (western Provence, SE France), is traditionally considered one of the most significant chrono-cultural markers of the Chasséen culture during the Middle Neolithic (end of the 5th and beginning of the 4th millennium BC). Diffusion of Provençal flints became massive during the first half of the 4th millennium BC, penetrating in several neighbouring cultural spheres such as the Sepulcros de Fosa culture in north-eastern Iberia. The integrated study of the lithic assemblages from the variscite mines of Gavà (Barcelona) and its contextualization within the Sepulcros de Fosa culture in north-eastern Iberia have revealed unexpected complexity in the modes of consumption, use and status of imported Barremian-Bedoulian industries in north-eastern Iberia during the 5th to 4th millennia cal. BC transition. Local communities within this region, already controlling extraction and regional diffusion of variscite ornaments, exerted control over the fluxes of Vauclusian flint south of the Pyrenees, where it had a triple status (functional, symbolic and both). In addition, the results provide complementary data to better understand relevant aspects of the nature and organisation of Barremian-Bedoulian flint exploitation and early supply systems at the Provençal producing sites during the later phase of the Chasséen culture.

Abstract
We present a search for subsolar mass ultracompact objects in data obtained during Advanced LIGO's second observing run. In contrast to a previous search of Advanced LIGO data from the first observing run, this search includes the effects of component spin on the gravitational waveform. We identify no viable gravitational-wave candidates consistent with subsolar mass ultracompact binaries with at least one component between 0.2 M_{⊙}-1.0 M_{⊙}. We use the null result to constrain the binary merger rate of (0.2 M_{⊙}, 0.2 M_{⊙}) binaries to be less than 3.7×10^{5} Gpc^{-3} yr^{-1} and the binary merger rate of (1.0 M_{⊙}, 1.0 M_{⊙}) binaries to be less than 5.2×10^{3} Gpc^{-3} yr^{-1}. Subsolar mass ultracompact objects are not expected to form via known stellar evolution channels, though it has been suggested that primordial density fluctuations or particle dark matter with cooling mechanisms and/or nuclear interactions could form black holes with subsolar masses. Assuming a particular primordial black hole (PBH) formation model, we constrain a population of merging 0.2 M_{⊙} black holes to account for less than 16% of the dark matter density and a population of merging 1.0 M_{⊙} black holes to account for less than 2% of the dark matter density. We discuss how constraints on the merger rate and dark matter fraction may be extended to arbitrary black hole population models that predict subsolar mass binaries.

Abstract
Abstract
Background
Many electrocardiographic (ECG) patterns may be present in acute pulmonary embolism (PE), but their prevalence and association with in hospital mortality (IHM) are less well established.
Objective
Assess the correlation between different ECG patterns and IHM in patients (Pts) with PE using a whole country dataset.
Methods
Prospective multicenter registry which included Pts with acute PE hospitalized in 75 academic centers from October 2016 to November 2017. We considered the following ECG patterns: sinus tachycardia, pulmonary P waves, Q waves in DII-aVF leads, negative T waves in V1-V4, ST segment elevation in aVR and V1, atrial fibrillation or atrial flutter (AF/AF), right bundle branch block (RBBB), ST segment depression, S1Q3T3 pattern or Qr in V1. Statistical analysis was carried out using de STATA version 13.1. A value of p<0.0.5 was considered statistically significant.
Results
We included 684 Pts; mean age 63.8±16.7 years (43% male). Global IHM was 12%. The most prevalent ECG patterns were sinus tachycardia (51.7%), S1Q3T3 (24.5%), negative T waves in V1- V4 (16%), RBBB (9.9%), AF/AF (8.6%). Four ECG patterns remained statistically significant predictors of IHM on multivariate analysis: AF/AF (OR: 3.81; CI 95% 1.82–7.95, p<0.01), pulmonary P waves (OR: 3.81; CI 95% 1.2–12, p<0.04), RBBB (OR: 2.71; CI 95% 1.39–5.30, p<0.01) and sinus tachycardia (OR: 2.05; CI 95% 1.18–3.54, p<0.04).
ECG pattern and in-hospital mortality.Multivariate analysis Electrocardiographic pattern OR CI 95% p value AF/AF 3.81 1.82–7.95 <0.01 Pulmonary P waves 3.81 1.20–12.00 <0.04 RBBB 2.71 1.39–5.30 <0.01 Sinus tachycardia 2.05 1.18–3.54 <0.04 Q waves in DII-aVF 0.93 0.32–2.64 0.89 ST segment depression 1.07 0.39–2.96 0.80 Negative T waves in V1-V4 0.93 0.47–1.81 0.83 S1Q3T3 pattern 0.75 0.39–1.41 0.37 Qr in V1 2.07 0.63–6.73 0.22 ST segment elevation in aVR 2.38 0.79–7.15 0.12
Conclusions
We corroborate the usefulness of the ECG as a prognostic tool in acute PE. Four simple ECG patterns (AF/AF, Pulmonary P waves, RBBB and sinus tachycardia) were associated with a higher IHM and therefore should be considered for PE risk stratification.

Abstract
The ensilage of total mixed ration (TMR) is a technology designed to help farmers with limitations to provide a balanced diet for their herds. Our aim was to evaluate the conservation of TMR ensiled in round bales with or without holes in the wrapping plastic film. Eight round bales of a corn silage-based TMR of 1,000 kg (370 kg DM/m3) were prepared. Ten days (d) after ensiling, four bales were randomly punctured with two holes of 25 cm2 each in opposite sides of the bale. The temperature in the center of the bales was recorded during the storage using dataloggers. After 60 d of storage, bales were weighted to assess dry matter (DM) recovery. Silages were sampled for measuring DM content, chemical composition, pH, lactic acid, and microbial counts. The temperature of the sliced bale face was assessed by infrared thermography. The holes in the plastic affected the DM content, DM recovery, and pH, whereas lactic acid, microbial counts, and temperature were not affected by treatments. The holes in the sealing plastic film should be avoided. However, holes of 25 cm2 each were not capable of causing expressive losses in TMR silage stored in 1,000 kg bales.

Abstract
The recent discovery by Advanced LIGO and Advanced Virgo of a gravitational wave signal from a binary neutron star inspiral has enabled tests of general relativity (GR) with this new type of source. This source, for the first time, permits tests of strong-field dynamics of compact binaries in the presence of matter. In this Letter, we place constraints on the dipole radiation and possible deviations from GR in the post-Newtonian coefficients that govern the inspiral regime. Bounds on modified dispersion of gravitational waves are obtained; in combination with information from the observed electromagnetic counterpart we can also constrain effects due to large extra dimensions. Finally, the polarization content of the gravitational wave signal is studied. The results of all tests performed here show good agreement with GR.

Abstract
The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of Lactobacillus inoculants on fermentation, losses, and aerobic stability of a total mixed ration (TMR) silage. A TMR, formulated to meet the requirements of dairy cows producing 25 kg of milk/d, was applied with the following treatments prior to ensiling: 1) Control (CON), 2) Lactobacillus buchneri (105 cfu/g of fresh forage; LB), and 3) Lactobacillus plantarum (105 cfu/g of fresh forage; LP). TMR silages were ensiled for 15 and 60 d in silos equipped with an apparatus for determination of gravimetric DM, gas, and effluent losses. The experiment was performed in a complete randomized design with a 3 × 2 factorial arrangement of the treatments, with 5 replicates per treatment. Chemical changes, microbial counts, fermentation profile, and aerobic stability were measured after opening the silos. Data were submitted to ANOVA, and means were compared by Tukey and T-test and statistical significance was declared at P ≤ 0.05. After 15 d of ensiling, the inclusion of inoculant decreased NDF (P < 0.05) and butyric acid concentrations (P < 0.05) in TMR. LP had the lowest aerobic stability (P < 0.05) and the greatest loss of DM (P < 0.03). Ensiling for 60 d increased ammonia nitrogen (NH3-N), lactic acid bacteria (LAB), aerobic stability, and concentrations of lactic and acetic acid (P < 0.01) and lowered (P < 0.02) total fermentation losses compared to 15 d across all treatments. After 60 d of ensiling, LP lowered pH to the greatest extent. Treatment had no effect on concentrations of DM, CP, ADF, ash, and EE, as well as in vitro DM digestibility. In conclusion, inoculants containing LP or LB did not improve fermentation profile, did not prolong the aerobic stability, nor reduced losses. Furthermore, the 15-d ensiling period was insufficient for adequate bacterial activity.

Abstract
Despite encouraging results with chimeric antigen receptor T (CART) cells, outcome can still be improved by optimization of the CART cell generation process. The proportion of less-differentiated T cells within the transfused product is linked to enhanced in vivo CART cell expansion and long-term persistence. The clinically approved PI3Kδ inhibitor idelalisib is well established in the treatment of B cell malignancies. Besides B cell receptor pathway inhibition, idelalisib can modulate T cell differentiation and function. Here, detailed longitudinal analysis of idelalisib-induced effects on T cell phenotype and function was performed during CART cell production. A third generation CD19.CAR.CD28.CD137zeta CAR vector system was used. CART cells were generated from peripheral blood mononuclear cells of healthy donors (HDs) and chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) patients. Idelalisib-based CART cell generation resulted in an enrichment of less-differentiated naïve-like T cells (CD45RA+CCR7+), decreased expression of the exhaustion markers PD-1 and Tim-3, as well as upregulation of the lymph node homing marker CD62L. Idelalisib increased transduction efficiency, but did not impair viability and cell expansion. Strikingly, CD4:CD8 ratios that were altered in CART cells from CLL patients were approximated to ratios in HDs by idelalisib. Furthermore, in vivo efficacy of idelalisib-treated CART cells was validated in a xenograft mouse model. Intracellular TNF-α and IFN-γ production decreased in presence of idelalisib. This effect was reversible after resting CART cells without idelalisib. In summary, PI3Kδ inhibition with idelalisib can improve CART cell products, particularly when derived from CLL patients. Further studies with idelalisib-based CART cell generation protocols are warranted.

Abstract
We analyze the impact of a proposed tidal instability coupling p modes and g modes within neutron stars on GW170817. This nonresonant instability transfers energy from the orbit of the binary to internal modes of the stars, accelerating the gravitational-wave driven inspiral. We model the impact of this instability on the phasing of the gravitational wave signal using three parameters per star: an overall amplitude, a saturation frequency, and a spectral index. Incorporating these additional parameters, we compute the Bayes factor (lnB_{!pg}^{pg}) comparing our p-g model to a standard one. We find that the observed signal is consistent with waveform models that neglect p-g effects, with lnB_{!pg}^{pg}=0.03_{-0.58}^{+0.70} (maximum a posteriori and 90% credible region). By injecting simulated signals that do not include p-g effects and recovering them with the p-g model, we show that there is a ≃50% probability of obtaining similar lnB_{!pg}^{pg} even when p-g effects are absent. We find that the p-g amplitude for 1.4 M_{⊙} neutron stars is constrained to less than a few tenths of the theoretical maximum, with maxima a posteriori near one-tenth this maximum and p-g saturation frequency ∼70 Hz. This suggests that there are less than a few hundred excited modes, assuming they all saturate by wave breaking. For comparison, theoretical upper bounds suggest ≲10^{3} modes saturate by wave breaking. Thus, the measured constraints only rule out extreme values of the p-g parameters. They also imply that the instability dissipates ≲10^{51} erg over the entire inspiral, i.e., less than a few percent of the energy radiated as gravitational waves.

Abstract
Purpose Exophthalmometry is a common examination in ophthalmology. For example it is relevant for diagnosis or follow-up of thyroid eye disease. However, exophthalmometry is affected by several factors such as ethnicity, sex and age. The purpose of this study was to determine the globe position by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and to investigate its correlates among the general Northeast German adult population. Methods A total of 3030 subjects aged between 20 and 89 from the population-based Study of Health in Pomerania (SHIP) underwent a standardised whole-body MRI. Axial length and globe position were determined in axial T1-weighted images of the orbit. The image had to include the corneal apex as well as the optic nerve head. Study participants were excluded from imaging analysis if there was no plane available that included both structures. Further exclusion criterion was a lateral deviation of the subject’s viewing direction. Images with inadequate quality due to motion artefacts or other technical reasons were excluded as well. Globe position was defined as the perpendicular distance between the interzygomatic line and the posterior surface of the cornea (exophthalmometric value). The distance between the posterior surface of the cornea and the posterior pole of the eyeball, at the boundary with orbital fat, was defined as axial length. We used posterior surface of the cornea for our measurements, because it seemed to be less vulnerable for motion artefacts than the anterior one. Moreover body measurements including body mass index (BMI), waist and hip circumferences were determined. Associations between anthropometric measurements with exophthalmometric outcomes were analysed by linear regressions adjusted for age and stratified by sex. P-values <0.05 were considered as statistically significant. To assess intra-reader variability intra-class correlation coefficients (ICC) were computed for repeated measurements of the MRI scans of 25 subjects. Results After considering the exclusion criteria 1926 evaluable subjects remained. There was no significant difference between means of right and left eyes. The mean exophthalmometric value was significantly higher in men (16.5 +/- 2.2 mm) than in women (15.3 +/- 2.1 mm). The mean MRI-axial length was 23.4 +/- 0.8 mm for men and 22.8 +/- 0.9 mm for women. BMI, waist and hip circumferences were positively correlated with exophthalmometric value (p<0.001). Difference of mean MRI-based exophthalmometric value for obese subjects (BMI ≥30 kg/m2) and non-overweight (BMI <25 kg/m2) was 2.1 mm for men and 1.6 mm for women. ICC between 0.97 and 0.99 indicate excellent repeatability of our method. Conclusion We conclude that MRI-based exophthalmometric values are positively correlated with BMI, waist- and hip-circumference among the general Northeast German adult population. This association is independent from age and axial length. Consequently bodyweight of patients should be regarded to interpret exophthalmometric values correctly. MRI-exophthalmometry seems to be a suitable method to determine globe position. Considering the large number of study participants, exophthalmometric values of our study could be used as comparative values for exophthalmometry of people of Western European descent in future.

Evidence for a white matter lesion size threshold to support the diagnosis of relapsing remitting multiple sclerosis. Mult Scler Relat Disord 2019; 29:124-129. Abstract
BACKGROUND The number of white matter lesions (WML) in brain MRI is the most established paraclinical tool to support the diagnosis of multiple sclerosis (MS) and to monitor its course. Diagnostic criteria have stipulated a minimum detectable diameter of 3 mm per WML, although this threshold is not evidence-based. We aimed to provide a rationale for a WML size threshold for three-dimensional MRI sequences at 3 T by comparing patients with relapsing-remitting MS (RRMS) to control subjects (CS). METHODS We analyzed MR images from two cohorts, obtained at scanners from two different vendors, each comprising patients with RRMS and CS. Both cohorts were examined with FLAIR and T1w sequences. In total, 232 patients with RRMS (Expanded Disability Status Scale: mean = 1.6 ± 1.2; age: mean = 36 ± 10) as well as 116 age- and sex-matched CS were studied. We calculated odds ratios across WML volumes. The WML size threshold, which discriminated best between patients and CS, was estimated with receiver operating characteristic curve analysis. RESULTS In both cohorts, odds ratios increased continuously with increasing WML volumes, and discriminative power was highest at a WML size threshold corresponding to a diameter of about 3 mm. CONCLUSION The stipulated WML size threshold of 3 mm in diameter for the diagnostic criteria of MS seems a reasonable choice for three-dimensional MRI sequences at 3 T.

Abstract
Abstract
Adoptive immunotherapy is one of the most encouraging therapeutic strategies for the treatment of a range of cancers. A particularly promising avenue of research is the functional introduction of chimeric antigen receptors (CARs) into naive human T-cells for autologous immunotherapy. Currently, the genetic engineering of these cells is achieved through the use of integrating vector systems such as lentiviruses or the sleeping beauty transposon system, which present a potential risk of genotoxicity associated with their random genomic integration. We have invented a novel DNA vector platform for the safe and efficient generation of genetically engineered T-cells for human immunotherapy. This DNA vector system contains no viral components and comprises only clinically approved sequences; it does not integrate into the target-cell’s genome but it can replicate autonomously and extrachromosomally in the nuclei of dividing human primary cells. These DNA vectors offer several advantages over currently used vector systems; they are not subject to commercial licenses, they are cheaper and easier to produce, and they can more quickly genetically modify human cells without the inherent risk of integrative mutagenesis. In preclinical experiments we have successfully generated genetically engineered human T-cells that sustain the expression of a reporter gene for over a month at persistently high levels without decline. We have also successfully modified these cells with a range of transgenic CAR receptors against several known cancer cell epitopes and we have demonstrated their viability and capability in the targeted killing of these human cancer cells. We showed that CAR-T-cells generated with our technology killed more efficiently target cells when compared to T-cells engineered with current state-of-the-art integrative lentivirus. The expression of functional CARs was detected over a period of two weeks of administration in culture and the anticancer activity of our DNA-CAR-T-cells was evaluated in vivo using xenotransplanted cell lines in immunodeficient mice. We are currently performing analyses in order to determine the molecular behavior of the vector in the cells and its impact on cellular viability. Furthermore, we are developing a protocol for large scale electroporation in order to manufacture a clinical grade CAR-T DNA product. We believe that this novel DNA vector system provides a unique and innovative approach to this exciting therapeutic strategy for cancer therapy. We estimate that this novel methodology will provide a simpler method of CAR T-cell manufacturing, resulting in a 10-fold reduction in the cost of the CAR-T product.

Abstract
We present the first Advanced LIGO and Advanced Virgo search for ultracompact binary systems with component masses between 0.2 M_{⊙}-1.0 M_{⊙} using data taken between September 12, 2015 and January 19, 2016. We find no viable gravitational wave candidates. Our null result constrains the coalescence rate of monochromatic (delta function) distributions of nonspinning (0.2 M_{⊙}, 0.2 M_{⊙}) ultracompact binaries to be less than 1.0×10^{6} Gpc^{-3} yr^{-1} and the coalescence rate of a similar distribution of (1.0 M_{⊙}, 1.0 M_{⊙}) ultracompact binaries to be less than 1.9×10^{4} Gpc^{-3} yr^{-1} (at 90% confidence). Neither black holes nor neutron stars are expected to form below ∼1 M_{⊙} through conventional stellar evolution, though it has been proposed that similarly low mass black holes could be formed primordially through density fluctuations in the early Universe and contribute to the dark matter density. The interpretation of our constraints in the primordial black hole dark matter paradigm is highly model dependent; however, under a particular primordial black hole binary formation scenario we constrain monochromatic primordial black hole populations of 0.2 M_{⊙} to be less than 33% of the total dark matter density and monochromatic populations of 1.0 M_{⊙} to be less than 5% of the dark matter density. The latter strengthens the presently placed bounds from microlensing surveys of massive compact halo objects (MACHOs) provided by the MACHO and EROS Collaborations.

Abstract
On 17 August 2017, the LIGO and Virgo observatories made the first direct detection of gravitational waves from the coalescence of a neutron star binary system. The detection of this gravitational-wave signal, GW170817, offers a novel opportunity to directly probe the properties of matter at the extreme conditions found in the interior of these stars. The initial, minimal-assumption analysis of the LIGO and Virgo data placed constraints on the tidal effects of the coalescing bodies, which were then translated to constraints on neutron star radii. Here, we expand upon previous analyses by working under the hypothesis that both bodies were neutron stars that are described by the same equation of state and have spins within the range observed in Galactic binary neutron stars. Our analysis employs two methods: the use of equation-of-state-insensitive relations between various macroscopic properties of the neutron stars and the use of an efficient parametrization of the defining function p(ρ) of the equation of state itself. From the LIGO and Virgo data alone and the first method, we measure the two neutron star radii as R_{1}=10.8_{-1.7}^{+2.0} km for the heavier star and R_{2}=10.7_{-1.5}^{+2.1} km for the lighter star at the 90% credible level. If we additionally require that the equation of state supports neutron stars with masses larger than 1.97 M_{⊙} as required from electromagnetic observations and employ the equation-of-state parametrization, we further constrain R_{1}=11.9_{-1.4}^{+1.4} km and R_{2}=11.9_{-1.4}^{+1.4} km at the 90% credible level. Finally, we obtain constraints on p(ρ) at supranuclear densities, with pressure at twice nuclear saturation density measured at 3.5_{-1.7}^{+2.7}×10^{34} dyn cm^{-2} at the 90% level.

Abstract
The South African Middle Stone Age (MSA) has in recent years become increasingly important for our understanding of the emergence of ‘modern human behaviours’. Several key innovations appeared in this context for the first time, significantly pre-dating their re-invention in the European Upper Palaeolithic. One of these innovations was heat treatment of stone to improve its quality for the production of stone tools. Heat treatment may even be the oldest well-documented technique used to intentionally alter the properties of materials in general. It is commonly thought of as requiring the skilled use of fire, a high degree of planning depth and complex cognitive abilities. However, to work on these fundamental concepts we need to analyse the techniques and procedures used to heat-treat and we need to understand what they imply. In this paper, we present a direct and expedient comparison between the technical complexities of four alternative heat treatment procedures by coding the behaviours required for their set-up in so-called cognigrams, a relatively new method for understanding complexity based on the problem-solution distance. Our results show that although the techniques significantly differ in complexity, the techniques used in the MSA fall within the range of complexities known from other MSA techniques. Heat treatment in above-ground fires, as it was practised during this period in South Africa, was even one of the most complex techniques at the time of its invention. Early heat treatment can therefore be considered an important behavioural proxy that may shed light on the behaviour and socioeconomic structure of past groups. The implications of this are highlighted by the ongoing debate about ‘modernity’, ‘behavioural flexibility’ and ‘complex cognition’ of early anatomically modern humans in Africa.

Abstract
The LIGO and the Virgo collaborations have recently announced the first detections of Gravitational Waves. Due to their weak amplitude, Gravitational Waves are expected to produce a very small effect on free-falling masses, which undergo a displacement of the order of 10-18 m for a Km-scale mutual distance. This discovery showed that interferometric detectors are suitable to reveal such a feeble effect, and therefore represent a new tool for astronomy, astrophysics and cosmology in the understanding of the Universe. To better reconstruct the position of the Gravitational Wave source and increase the signal-to-noise ratio of the events by means of multiple coincidence, a network of detectors is necessary. In the USA, the LIGO project has recently concluded its second Observation Run (O2) with a couple of twin 4 kilometer-long arms detectors which are placed in Washington State and Louisiana. Advanced VIRGO (AdV) is a 3 kilometer-long arms second generation interferometer situated in Cascina, near Pisa in Italy. The installation of AdV has been completed in 2016, and the first commissioning phase allowed to get to the target early-stage sensitivity, which was sufficient to join LIGO in the O2 scientific run. In this paper, the challenges of the commissioning of AdV will be presented, together with its current performances and future perspectives. Finally, in the last paragraph the latest discoveries that occurred after the ICNFP 2017 conference will be also described.

Abstract
SummaryIn patients with severe nephrotic syndrome determinations of plasma protein C : Ag levels (8 patients: 5 adults, 3 children) and protein C activity (3 out of 8 patients) revealed significantly elevated plasma protein C concentrations. Furthermore we observed a significant inverse correlation of protein C : Ag to AT III : Ag levels. No protein C : Ag could be detected in the urine of two patients studied. We conclude from our data, that changes of plasma protein C do not contribute to the high thrombotic tendency in nephrotic syndrome.

Abstract
Abstract
Adoptive immunotherapy is one of the most encouraging therapeutic strategies for the treatment of a range of cancers. One particularly promising avenue of research is the functional introduction of Chimeric Antigen Receptors (CARs) into naive Human T-Cells for autologous-immunotherapy. Currently, the genetic engineering of these cells is achieved through the use of proprietary integrating vector systems such as lentiviruses or the sleeping beauty transposon system which present a risk of genotoxicity associated with their random genomic integration.
We have invented a novel DNA Vector platform for the safe and efficient generation of genetically engineered T-Cells for Human Immunotherapy. This DNA vector system contains no viral components and comprises only clinically approved sequences, it does not integrate into the target cell's genome but it can replicate autonomously and extrachromosomally in the nucleus of dividing human primary cells. These DNA Vectors offer several advantages over currently used vector systems; they are not subject to commercial licences, they are cheaper and easier to produce, and they can more quickly genetically modify human cells without the inherent risk of integrative mutagenesis.
In preclinical experiments we have successfully generated genetically engineered human T-Cells expressing the CAR receptor against several epitopes and have demonstrated their viability and capability in targeting and killing human cancer cells which express these epitopes. The long term anti-tumor activity of our DNA-CAR-T cells has been confirmed in vivo using xenotransplanted cell lines in immunodeficient mice.
We believe that this novel DNA Vector system provides a unique and innovative approach to this exciting therapeutic strategy for cancer therapy. We estimate that this novel methodology will provide a simpler method of CAR T-cell manufacturing, resulting in a 10-fold reduction in the cost of the CART-product.

OBJECTIVES To evaluate early quality of composite restorations with a universal adhesive in different application modes clinically and with optical coherence tomography (OCT). METHODS 22 patients with four non-carious cervical lesions each received composite restorations (Filtek Supreme™ XTE, 3 M). The universal adhesive Scotchbond Universal™(SBU, 3 M) was applied with three etching protocols: self-etch (SE), selective-enamel-etch (SEE) and etch-and-rinse (ER). The etch-and-rinse adhesive OptiBond™ FL (OFL, Kerr) served as a control. Restorations were imaged by OCT (Thorlabs) directly after application (t0). After 14 days (t1) and 6 month (t2) OCT imaging (interfacial adhesive defects) was repeated combined with clinical assessment (FDI criteria). Groups were compared by Friedman-/Wilcoxon- and McNemar-Test. RESULTS No differences were seen clinically between groups (pi ≥ 0.500). OCT assessment revealed more adhesive defects at the enamel interface with SBU/SE at t0-t2 compared to all groups (pi ≤ 0.016). OFL showed more defects than SBU/ER (t1: p = 0.01; t2: p = 0.083). At dentin/cementum interface OFL exhibited more adhesive defects than SBU with all conditioning modes (t0, t1, pi ≤ 0.003) and at t2 to SBU/SE and SBU/ER (p < 0.001). Since t1 defects with SBU were detected more frequently in the SE and SEE modes compared to ER (pi ≤ 0.037). In contrast to SBU defects increased with OFL up to t2 (pi ≤ 0.007). CONCLUSIONS In contrast to clinical evaluation, OCT revealed subtle adhesive defects directly after application that might interfere with clinical success. It was demonstrated that ER does not decrease initial adhesion of SBU to dentin.

Abstract
The detection of gravitational waves with Advanced LIGO and Advanced Virgo has enabled novel tests of general relativity, including direct study of the polarization of gravitational waves. While general relativity allows for only two tensor gravitational-wave polarizations, general metric theories can additionally predict two vector and two scalar polarizations. The polarization of gravitational waves is encoded in the spectral shape of the stochastic gravitational-wave background, formed by the superposition of cosmological and individually unresolved astrophysical sources. Using data recorded by Advanced LIGO during its first observing run, we search for a stochastic background of generically polarized gravitational waves. We find no evidence for a background of any polarization, and place the first direct bounds on the contributions of vector and scalar polarizations to the stochastic background. Under log-uniform priors for the energy in each polarization, we limit the energy densities of tensor, vector, and scalar modes at 95% credibility to Ω_{0}^{T}<5.58×10^{-8}, Ω_{0}^{V}<6.35×10^{-8}, and Ω_{0}^{S}<1.08×10^{-7} at a reference frequency f_{0}=25 Hz.
