Abstract
To probe the diagnostic value of transvaginal color Doppler ultrasonography plus serum β-human chorionic gonadotropin (β-HCG) dynamic monitoring in intrauterine residue after medical abortion. In total, 200 pregnant women undergoing medical abortion in our institution from January 2017 to December 2019 were picked, and assigned to either group A (n = 75, with residue) or group B (n = 125, without residue). We detected serum β-HCG, progesterone (P), follicle stimulating estrogen (FSH) levels and ultrasonic indicators endometrial thickness (ET), peak systolic velocity (PSV), resistance index (RI) values, dissected correlation of indicators using logistic linear regression analysis, and prospected the diagnostic value of relevant indicators in intrauterine residue after medical abortion utilizingreceiver operating characteristic curve. At 7 days after abortion (T3), total vaginal bleeding and visual analogue scalescore in group A were saliently higher in contrast to group B ( P < .05). At 72 hours after abortion (T2) and T3, serum β-HCG, P and FSH levels declined strikingly in both groups, but group B held plainly higher decrease rate than group A ( P HC.05). At T3, ET and PSV levels in both groups considerably waned, whereas RI levels notedly waxed, and group B owned markedly higher decrease/increase than group A ( P wa.05). At T3, serum β-HCG in group A possessed positive association with serum P, FSH, intrauterine ET, PSV levels separately ( P HC.05), whereas negative link with RI levels ( P , .05). The specificity and sensitivity of β-HCG, P, FSH, β-HCG/ET, β-HCG/PSV and β-HCG/RI in the diagnosis of intrauterine residue after medical abortion were high ( P < .05).Serum β-HCG dynamic monitoring plus transvaginal color Doppler ultrasonography is of great value in diagnosing intrauterine residue after medical abortion. Serum β-HCG, P, FSH levels can be combined with the results of intrauterine ET, PSV, RI values, so as to boost the diagnostic accuracy of the intrauterine residue after medical abortion.

Abstract
Color Doppler (CD) imaging is widely used in diagnostics since it allows real-time detection and display of blood flow superimposed on the B-mode image. Nevertheless, to date, a shared worldwide standard on Doppler equipment testing is still lacking. In this context, the study herein proposed would give a contribution focusing on the combination of five test parameters to be included in a novel Quality Assessment (QA) protocol for CD systems testing. A first approach involving the use of the Kiviat diagram was investigated, assuming the diagram area, normalized with respect to one of the gold standards, as an index of the overall Doppler system performance. The QA parameters were obtained from the post-processing of CD data through the implementation of custom-written image analysis methods and procedures, here applied to three brand-new high-technology-level ultrasound systems. Experimental data were collected through phased and convex array probes, in two configuration settings, by means of a Doppler flow phantom set at different flow rate regimes. The outcomes confirmed that the Kiviat diagram might be a promising tool applied to quality controls of Doppler equipment, although further investigations should be performed to assess the sensitivity and specificity of the proposed approach.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the application value of RigiScan monitoring in assisting tadalafil medication. METHODS This self-control study included 89 ED patients (IIEF-5 < 21) treated in our hospital from August 2019 to July 2020. The patients underwent audiovisual sexual stimulation (AVSS), nocturnal penile tumescence and rigidity (NPTR) test, scoring on the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) and Generalized Anxiety Disorder 7-Item Scale (GAD-7), blood routine test, blood biochemical analysis, and hormone secretion examination, which confirmed 21 cases of psychogenic, 28 cases of organic and 40 cases of mixed ED. We treated the patients with tadalafil at 5 mg/d for 30 days, followed by examination of their erectile function by IIEF-5 scoring and AVSS and comparison of their erectile function with the baseline. For some of the patients that responded poorly to tadalafil at 5 mg/d, we increased the dose to 20 mg and detected the efficacy by AVSS at 1 h after medication. For those with organic or mixed ED irreponsive to tadalafil at 20 mg, we performed screening for corpora cavernosal venous leakage (CCVL) by intracavernosal injectionof alprostadil and penile color Doppler duplex ultrasonography or used dynamic infusion cavernosometry and cavernosography (DICC) to confirm the diagnosis of CCVL. RESULTS The effectiveness rates of 5 mg/d tadalafil on mild, moderate and severe ED were 85.4%, 53.1% and 43.8%, respectively, significantly higher on mild than on moderate and severe ED (P = 0.002), and its effectiveness rates on psychogenic, organic and mixed ED were 90.5%, 60.7% and 57.5%, respectively, remarkably higher on psychogenic than on organic and mixed ED (P = 0.026). For those with organic or mixed ED irresponsive to 5 mg/d tadalafil, the increased dose of 20 mg achieved an effectiveness rate of 64.3%. (P = 0.033). The results of DICC did not encourage tadalafil medication for the cases of organic or mixed ED with CCVL irresponsive to both 5 mg and 20 mg tadalafil. CONCLUSION RigiScan monitoring plays a guiding role in tadalafil medication of ED and helps distinguish organic from psychogenic ED. Tadalafil at 5 mg/d produces a better effect on mild than on moderate and severe ED, and so does it on psychogenic than on organic and mixed ED. The dose of medication can be increased to 20 mg for organic and mixed ED irresponsive to 5 mg tadalafil, but tadalafil is not recommended for organic and mixed ED with CCVL irresponsive to both 5 mg and 20 mg tadalafil.

Abstract
Boiling histotripsy (BH) is a mechanical tissue liquefaction method that uses sequences of millisecond-long high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) pulses with shock fronts. The BH treatment generates bubbles that move within the sonicated volume due to acoustic radiation force. Since the velocity of the bubbles and tissue debris is expected to depend on the lesion size and liquefaction completeness, it could provide a quantitative metric of the treatment progression. In this study, the motion of bubble remnants and tissue debris immediately following BH pulses was investigated using high-pulse repetition frequency (PRF) plane-wave color Doppler ultrasound in ex vivo myocardium tissue. A 256-element 1.5 MHz spiral HIFU array with a coaxially integrated ultrasound imaging probe (ATL P4-2) produced 10 ms BH pulses to form volumetric lesions with electronic beam steering. Prior to performing volumetric BH treatments, the motion of intact myocardium tissue and anticoagulated bovine blood following isolated BH pulses was assessed as two limiting cases. In the liquid blood the velocity of BH-induced streaming at the focus reached over 200 cm/s, whereas the intact tissue was observed to move toward the HIFU array consistent with elastic rebound of tissue. Over the course of volumetric BH treatments tissue motion at the focus locations was dependent on the axial size of the forming lesion relative to the corresponding size of the HIFU focal area. For axially small lesions, the maximum velocity after the BH pulse was directed toward the HIFU transducer and monotonically increased over time from about 20-100 cm/s as liquefaction progressed, then saturated when tissue was fully liquefied. For larger lesions obtained by merging multiple smaller lesions in the axial direction, the high-speed streaming away from the HIFU transducer was observed at the point of full liquefaction. Based on these observations, the maximum directional velocity and its location along the HIFU propagation axis were proposed and evaluated as candidate metrics of BH treatment completeness.

Abstract
Fetal heart rate (FHR) and maternal heart rate (MHR) are important indicators of fetal well-being during pregnancy. A common method in clinical examination is to estimate the FHR using the Doppler shift of echoes from umbilical artery blood flow based on an ultrasound pulsed-wave (PW) Doppler technique. Similarly, a sampling gate can be located at the maternal blood flow to measure MHR using PW Doppler. Ultrasound color Doppler flow imaging (CDFI) is one of the most commonly used imaging modes for clinical fetal examinations. Color coding is employed to display the blood flow velocity and direction in color grades according to the Doppler shift. Continuous CDF images contain dynamic changes characteristics of the blood flow. The periodic characteristics can be used to obtain heart rate information. Therefore, here we propose a novel method to measure FHR and MHR simultaneously using CDF images. The proposed method calculates the histogram of color similarity of CDF images to initially extract the periodic characteristics of the CDF image sequence. The histogram of color similarity function is then processed by a bandpass filter and autocorrelation operation to reduce noise and enhance periodicity. Finally, peak detection is performed on the processed signal to obtain the period and estimate the heart rate. The proposed method can measure the FHR and MHR in parallel after selecting two regions containing the umbilical artery and maternal blood flow, respectively. Thus, the method has high computational efficiency. The proposed method was evaluated on a Doppler flow phantom and clinical CDF images and then compared with the PW Doppler method. The correlation analysis and Bland-Altman plots reveal that the proposed method agrees well with the PW Doppler. It is a sanity check method for real-time clinical FHR and MHR measurements.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To assess the accuracy and value of ultrasonography in the diagnosis of ruptured tunica albuginea (RTA) of the corpus cavernosum penis. Factors affecting prognosis were analyzed. METHODS This retrospective study included 57 cases of RTA of the corpus cavernosum penis ultrasonographically diagnosed and surgically treated in Peking University First Hospital from 2013 to 2021. We analyzed the location, size and number of ruptures and the presence or absence of urethral injury, and compared the intraoperative with the ultrasonographic findings. RESULTS Of the 57 cases of RTA of the corpus cavernosum penis diagnosed by ultrasonography, 54 (94.7%) were confirmed by surgery. Preoperative ultrasonography indicated 2 cases of bilateral RTA and 6 cases of urethral injury, while surgery revealed 7 cases of bilateral RTA and 13 cases of combined urethral injury. Those with urethral injury developed no urethral stricture or urinary fistula after one-stage urethral repair. And no severe or moderate ED was found in any of the patients during the 12-month follow-up. CONCLUSION Ultrasonography has a high accuracy in the diagnosis of ruptured tunica albuginea of the corpus cavernosum penis, and contributes to the determination of the site of surgical incision.

Abstract
Doppler ultrasonography is a type of medical ultrasonography that uses the Doppler effect to provide images of the movement of tissues and bodily fluids (typically blood) relative to the probe. To determine the potential of curcumin loaded nanoparticles in ovarian cancer which was diagnosed by using the gynecological color doppler ultrasound technique. Curcumin (CRMN) loaded chitosan nanoparticles were formulated using the ionotropic gelation method and characterized for particle size, zeta potential and polydispersity index (PDI). Clinical parameters like serum creatinine, blood serum urea nitrogen, resistance index and peak systolic velocity were evaluated. The drug loading efficiency was found between 11.38 to 17.45% with a particle size of 140-220nm. The zeta potential ranged between 19.12 to 23.14mV. Clinical parameters were found significantly changed when compared with before injection of CRMN-loaded nanoparticles. BUN was increased from 7.11±0.25to 28.27±6.65 mmol/L while SCr was also found to be increased from 52.71±3.14 µmol/L to 312.20±40.41 µmol/L. Collectively, these images of color doppler in animal model demonstrated efficient use in the diagnosis of ovarian cancer. This study confirms the potential of color doppler as an efficient medical imaging tool for ovarian cancer.

Abstract
PURPOSE Benign essential blepharospasm (EB) is a focal facial dyskinesia that occurs with the involuntary contraction of muscles around the eyes. In the literature, studies on blepharospasm focus on elucidating the pathophysiology of this condition in the brain. To the best of our knowledge, there is no research evaluating the orbital imaging findings of patients with EB. Therefore, the current study aimed to determine whether there was any change in the blood supply of muscles around the eye or ocular blood flow in patients with blepharospasm and investigate flow changes that may be caused by spasm. METHODS Thirty patients with EB and 30 controls were included in the study. Orbital Doppler ultrasound was performed in all cases to measure ophthalmic and temporal artery peak systolic velocity and end diastolic velocity and calculate resistive index values. Superior ophthalmic vein blood flow velocity (SOVBFV) was also measured. RESULTS There was no significant difference between the groups in terms of age and gender distribution (P = 0.345 and 0.870, respectively). SOVBFV was found to be significantly higher in the EB group (P = 0.001). No significant difference was observed in the remaining investigated parameters. CONCLUSIONS In conclusion, our study suggested that ocular spasm in patients with EB had no effect on blood flow other than SOVBFV. When SOVBFV was compared between the EB and control groups, it was found to be increased in the EB group. We consider that this statistical difference may be clinically and pathophysiologically significant.

Abstract
In order to improve the diagnostic value of color Doppler ultrasonography in placenta accreta and make the diagnosis more accurate, a method to detect placenta accreta by combining color Doppler ultrasonography and magnetic resonance is proposed. The patients with placenta accreta were selected for color Doppler ultrasonography and MRI examination. Kappa test was used to analyze the consistency between the results of ultrasound and MRI examination alone and combined diagnosis and pathological examination results, and the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) was drawn. Price compliance, sensitivity, specificity, good estimate rate, negative bid success rate, and Youden index were chosen as the basis for measuring the value of our tests. The results showed that the Kappa combined test rate was 0.609, the equivalent efficiency was 80.90%, and the correlation was good; ROC curve analysis showed that the sensitivity and specificity of articular placenta accreta were 91.75% and 89.26%. The sensitivity, uniqueness, good estimate, negative predictive value, and Youden index of color Doppler ultrasound combined with magnetic resonance imaging>magnetic resonance imaging>color Doppler ultrasound in our laboratory were compared, and the difference was significant (P < 0.05). The experimental results show that color Doppler ultrasound and MRI are effective in the diagnosis of placenta accreta, and each has advantages and disadvantages. Therefore, it has been improved in the diagnosis of placenta accreta, is helpful for the diagnosis of placenta accreta, and is suitable for popularization and use.

Abstract
Morphea, a localized form of scleroderma, is a chronic inflammatory autoimmune disease of the skin. Color Doppler Ultrasound has been reported as a reliable tool to assess the activity of the disease. With histologically confirmed cases, this case series describes a new ultrasound sign consisting of a hyperechoic halo surrounding superficial subcutaneous veins of the extremities in transverse view, named the sun sign. This sign can help diagnose morphea in the inflammatory phase and correlate in pathology with perivascular infiltrates surrounding superficial subcutaneous veins.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Gastrointestinal (GI) manifestations are frequent in systemic sclerosis (SSc) with an impact on quality of life and morbidity. Bowel vasculopathy is a key pathogenetic factor responsible for GI involvement. OBJECTIVES To compare abdominal ultrasound (US) and Color Doppler Ultrasonography (CDU) features of splanchnic vessels of SSc patients with healthy controls. METHODS The charts of SSc patients who underwent an abdominal US and CDU study were retrospectively analyzed. For Superior Mesenteric Artery (SMA) and Inferior Mesenteric Artery (IMA) caliber, Peak Systolic Velocity (PSV), Reverse Velocity (RV), End-Diastolic Velocity (EDV), Mean Velocity (mV), Blood-flow, Resistive Index (RI) and Pulsatility Index (PI) were recorded. RESULTS 28 SSc patients and 28 controls were enrolled. In SSc, caliber of SMA was significantly smaller than in controls (5.75 ± 0.62 mm vs. 6.45 ± 0.60 mm, p < 0.0001 - p adj =0.0002). The flow study of SMA and IMA showed a significant reduction of RV (SMA: 7.25 ± 6.37 cm/s vs. 18.52 ± 6.16 cm/s, p < 0.0001 - p adj <0.0001; IMA: 2.69 ± 6.10 cm/s vs. 17.06 ± 5.75 cm/s, p < 0.0001 - p adj <0.0001) and PI (SMA: 3.33 ± 0.75 vs. 4.53 ± 1.03, p < 0.0001 - p adj =0.0002; IMA: 3.54 ± 0.95 vs. 6.08 ± 1.53, p < 0.0001 - p adj <0.0001) in SSc patients than controls. CONCLUSION involvement of splanchnic vessels in SSc may be non-invasively investigated with abdominal US and CDU. Morphological and functional changes of Doppler parameters observed in SMA and IMA clearly demonstrate that these vessels are affected by SSc vasculopathy.

Retinal nerve fiber layer and ganglion cell complex were evaluated using optical coherence tomography (OCT). Blood flow was characterized in ophthalmic artery (OA) and central retinal artery (CRA) using color Doppler ultrasonography (CDU), and resistivity index (RI) was calculated. Measurements from CDU and OCT were statistically correlated and the degree of the association was examined. Receiver operating characteristics was produced based on RI and optimal threshold was determined. RESULTS In POAG patients, OCT revealed neuronal damage and CDU indicated increased resistance to arterial flow. Flow dynamics correlated negatively with the ocular tissue dimensions, sufficiently establishing an association between the ocular structure and its hemodynamic response. Based on the possibility of indirect POAG diagnosis with CDU, threshold 0.7 for RI of OA yielded 73.9% sensitivity and 77.4% specificity in distinguishing the cases of POAG from the controls. Threshold of 0.66 for RI of CRA, had higher specificity of 83%, but lower sensitivity of 52.1%. CONCLUSIONS Ocular flow exhibits different characteristics in individuals with POAG than normal. The changes associated with the underlying neuronal structure, suggesting the possibility of a potential new diagnostic biomarker for POAG. This justifies further studies with a larger cohort, examining the ocular flow with CDU in POAG and comparing it against OCT findings for establishing the power of CDU in differential diagnosis or glaucoma progression.

Abstract
In order to explore the value of color Doppler ultrasonography (TVCDS) in the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of adenomyosis. A total of 150 patients with adenomyosis admitted to a hospital from January 2020 to December 2021 were selected, taking transvaginal three-dimensional color Doppler ultrasound and abdominal ultrasound for examination, all results were compared with patient pathology or surgical results, in order to compare the accuracy of the two inspection methods. The positive predictive value of three-dimensional color Doppler ultrasonography was higher than that of abdominal ultrasonography, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). The coincidence rate, sensitivity, and specificity of three-dimensional color Doppler ultrasonography were higher than those of abdominal ultrasonography, while the misdiagnosis rate was lower than that of abdominal ultrasonography, and the differences were statistically significant (all P < 0.05). The imaging features of vaginal three-dimensional color Doppler ultrasound in patients with adenomyosis are mainly enlarged uterus, slightly stronger echoes in the myometrium with enhanced echogenic spots, and short or short branch blood flow signals in the lesions. After statistical analysis, there was a significant difference in the blood flow changes between benign and malignant endometrial echoes and abnormal echoes in the uterine cavity, P < 0.05. Normal endometrium and benign intrauterine lesions mainly showed no blood flow signal, while malignant lesions in the uterine cavity mostly showed changes in blood flow signal. Compared with abdominal examination, transvaginal color Doppler ultrasonography has obvious advantages in the diagnosis of adenomyosis. According to the characteristics of ultrasound images, blood flow distribution, frequency spectrum, etc., it can provide a more accurate basis for clinical timely, provide the identification points of uterine fibroids, and provide help for clinicians to choose a treatment plan.

Abstract
Objective To explore the application value of color Doppler ultrasonography combined with thyroid autoantibody tests in the early diagnosis of thyroid cancer. Methods The medical data of 100 patients with thyroid nodules treated in our hospital from June 2019 to June 2021 were retrospectively analyzed; all patients received color Doppler ultrasonography and thyroid autoantibody tests before surgery and were divided into the benign lesion group (n = 45) and the malignant lesion group (n = 55) according to the postoperative pathological findings (the gold standard), so as to compare and analyze the application value of color Doppler ultrasonography, thyroid autoantibody tests, and their combination in the early diagnosis of thyroid cancer. Results Compared with the pathological findings, the accuracy rate, sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, and negative predictive value of the combined diagnosis were significantly higher than those in the single diagnosis of color Doppler ultrasonography, TgAb test, TPOAb test, and TRAb test (P < 0.05), and by plotting the ROC curves to analyze the effect of these modalities in diagnosing early thyroid diseases, the results showed that the areas under the curve from large to small were combined diagnosis, color Doppler ultrasonography, TgAb test, TPOAb test, and TRAb test. Conclusion Color Doppler ultrasonography has many advantages in the diagnosis of thyroid nodules, such as easy operation, painlessness, noninvasiveness, high efficiency, and repeatable detection, and the high-definition probe is able to show tiny lesions, echogenicity, blood flow signal, and other characteristics of foci. Combining color Doppler ultrasonography with testing thyroid autoantibodies such as TgAb, TPOAb, and TRAb can effectively improve the detection rate of early thyroid cancer, presenting significant reference value and meaning to clinical diagnosis and treatment of thyroid cancer.

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the value of color Doppler ultrasound and digital subtraction angiography (DSA) in evaluating the level of carotid bifurcation and the morphology of extracranial internal carotid artery in patients with atherosclerotic carotid stenosis. Methods: The carotid artery examination data of 186 patients with atherosclerotic carotid stenosis who underwent carotid DSA and color Doppler ultrasound in Shanghai Changzheng Hospital from July 2017 to June 2019 were retrospectively analyzed, including 154 males and 32 females, with ages ranging from 36 to 84 (66±8) years old. The correlation between the position of carotid bifurcation and the level of cervical spine, the distance from the position of carotid bifurcation to mandibular angle, the correlation of the level of bifurcation with the length of neck, and the incidence of carotid distortion were analyzed. Results: DSA showed that the most common position of carotid bifurcation was at C3 level on the left [37.3% (56/150)], and at C3-C4 level on the right [33.6% (42/125)], and the highest position was at C2 level on the left, and at C2-C3 levels on the right, while the lowest level on both sides was at C5 level. The incidence of high bifurcation of left carotid artery (C3 and above) was 46% (69/150), which was higher than that of right carotid artery [21.6% (27/125), P<0.001]. The incidence of high carotid bifurcation in men and women was 33.2% (76/229) and 43.5% (20/46), respectively, with no significant difference (P = 0.182). Carotid ultrasound showed that the distance between the left carotid bifurcation and the mandibular angle was (3.0±1.3) cm, which was shorter than that on the right [(3.4±1.2) cm] (P<0.001). The distance between carotid bifurcation and mandibular angle in men and women was (3.2±1.2) cm and (3.3±1.0) cm, respectively, with no significant difference (P = 0.093). There was no significant correlation between carotid bifurcation level and carotid length (right: r = 0.02, P = 0.091; left: r = 0.01, P = 0.927). The incidence of carotid artery distortion was 28.1% (9/32) in women and 15.6% (24/154) in men, with no significant difference (P = 0.091). The incidence of right carotid artery distortion in high bifurcation group was 59.3% (16/27), which was higher than that in non-high bifurcation group [3.1% (3/98)] (P<0.001). Likewise, the incidence of left carotid artery distortion in high bifurcation group was 30.4% (21/69), which was higher than that in non-high bifurcation group [2.5% (2/81)] (P<0.001). Conclusions: The bifurcation position of left carotid artery in patients with atherosclerotic carotid stenosis is higher than that of the right. Patients with high bifurcation of carotid artery are more likely to be complicated with carotid distortion. Preoperative color doppler ultrasound combined with DSA can evaluate the distortion of extracranial carotid artery, thereby providing reference for the selection of surgical methods.

Abstract
ABSTRACT Ultrasonography (US) has recently been used more frequently during interventions involving the lumbar spine. However, physicians who are more familiar with musculoskeletal US targeting muscles, tendons, and nerves may find it challenging to perform US-guided lumbar spine interventions using only bony landmarks. This study described the use of color Doppler US for the visualization of the lumbar spinal blood supply to identify vascular landmarks in addition to bony landmarks and thus more easily and accurately perform lumbar spine interventions.

Abstract
UNLABELLED Giant cell arteritis (GCA) is a type of large and middle arteries vasculitis that occurs in patients aged over 50 years. The typical symptoms include pain and tenderness in the temporal region, sudden vision impairment or loss and jaw claudication. If left untreated the disease may lead to permanent blindness. The diagnosis is based on the ACR criteria and the treatment of choice are glicocorticosteroids. The ultrasonography with color Doppler is characterized by high sensitivity and specificity which makes it a valuable diagnostic tool, especially in questionable cases. A CASE REPORT 86-year-old woman, with a history of sudden left eye vision loss that occurred one month ago, reported to the hospital due to right eye vision impairment progression. The symptoms and characteristic of patient's complaints suggested GCA, however patient didn't meet the diagnostic criteria. The ultrasonography examination was used, which revealed features typical for GCA ("halo" sign and non-compressible arteries - compression sign), which contributed to the decision of the immediate treatment initiation with corticosteroids which stopped the progression of the disease and led to the slight right eye vision improvement. CONCLUSIONS The ultrasonography examination is a useful and valuable diagnostic tool for patients with suspected GCA and its use is especially significant in the questionable cases diagnosis.

Abstract
In this study, we compared the measurement of carotid stenosis by computed tomography angiography (CTA) based on the narrowest diameter versus cross sectional area (CSA) with the measurement by color Doppler ultrasonography (CDUS) as a reference standard, and analyzed how the application of different statistical methods affected the result. On 113 carotid arteries with ≥50% stenosis, we quantified the level of correlation among the three measurements, sensitivity, specificity, and differences in the estimated stenosis level. Correlation between both CTA measurements was good with Pearson’s ρ between 0.87 and 0.91 (p<0.001). Correlation between CDUS and CTA measurements was only modest with Pearson’s ρ between 0.2 (p=0.075) and 0.4 (p=0,007) for CDUS CTA (CSA), and between 0.23 (p=0.062) and 0.39 (p=0.008) for CDUS CTA (diameter). Differences in stenosis between CTA (CSA) and CDUS were centered around 0%, and between CTA (diameter) and CDUS around 20%. Sensitivity and specificity for CTA (CSA) method were 81% and 77%, and for CTA (diameter) 23% and 100%, respectively. A good correlation between CSA and diameter measurement just means that these are two related features of stenosis, it does not mean good agreement. CTA (CSA) method better detected surgical stenoses, whereas CTA (diameter) systematically underestimated stenosis level. The study of differences between the measurements indicated agreement better than the calculation of correlation coefficients.

Abstract
Despite the use of two- and three- dimensional color Doppler ultrasonography, the prenatal sonographic evaluation of precordial venous system remains difficult. Spatiotemporal image correlation (STIC) technology has been well described for the assessment of the fetal heart, but not of precordial venous system. As demonstrated in this report, it is feasible to use four-dimensional ultrasound with STIC rendered volume in glass-body mode and tomographic ultrasound imaging to image this system including the connection and drainage of the ductus venosus, hepatic veins and inferior vena cava to the fetal heart. This novel approach can increase the understanding of this venous system.
