Abstract
BACKGROUND Bariatric surgery is an effective treatment for severe obesity. Several studies have been conducted on the effects of bariatric surgery on the reproductive function of women with obesity who do not have polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). OBJECTIVES To evaluate the effects of bariatric surgery on the menstruation and reproductive related hormones of women of childbearing age with who do not have PCOS. SETTING A systematic review and meta-analysis at a university hospital. METHODS Online databases were searched for all studies reporting the efficacy of bariatric surgery for women with obesity until March 2021. The language of publication was limited to English and Chinese. Incidence of abnormal menstruation and reproductive-related hormone levels were the primary outcomes. RESULTS Fifteen studies comprising 725 patients were enrolled in this meta-analysis. Results showed a significantly lower incidence of abnormal menstruation (relative risk: .40, 95% confidence interval [CI]: .20-.79, P = .008) after bariatric surgery. Moreover, bariatric surgery led to a decrease in serum insulin levels (mean difference [MD] = -13.12 mIU/L, 95% CI: -15.03 to -11.22, P < .00001), glucose (MD = -.91 mmol/L, 95% CI: -1.26 to -.56, P < .00001), triglyceride (MD = -.61 g/L, 95% CI: -.76 to -.46, P < .00001), total testosterone (MD = -.22 ng/mL, 95% CI: -.24 to -.20, P < .00001), dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) (MD = -25.34 μg/dL, 95% CI: -31.19 to -19.49, P < .00001), estradiol (MD = -25.13 pg/mL, 95% CI: -34.13 to -16.13, P < .00001), and anti-Mullerian hormone (AMH) (MD = -.40 ng/mL, 95% CI: -.67 to -.13, P = .003). Serum sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG) levels increased after bariatric surgery (MD = 43.99 nmol/L, 95% CI: 34.99-52.99, P < .00001). CONCLUSION Bariatric surgery can lower fasting insulin, glucose, and triglyceride levels, reduce the incidence of abnormal menstruation, decrease total serum testosterone, DHEA, estradiol, and AMH levels, and increase SHBG level for women with obesity of childbearing age who do not have PCOS. This meta-analysis indicated that bariatric surgery could be effective in improving reproductive function for women with severe obesity.

Abstract
Spiders are believed to have enormous potential for indicating heavy metal pollution in ecosystems. The diversity of influencing factors caused significant differences in the toxicities of cadmium (Cd) on spiders. There is limited understanding of the underlying mechanism and response to acute Cd exposure at different concentrations and different poisoning times. We exposed adult female P. subpiraticus to 0.2 mM and 2 mM Cd for 6 and 12 h, respectively, to explore acute Cd toxicities by RNA-seq. We measured the bioaccumulation levels in P. subpiraticus and tested the activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and glutathione S-transferase (GST). There were 187, 292, 101 and 155 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) after exposure to 0.2 mM and 2 mM Cd for 6 and 12 h, respectively. The results revealed that Cd accumulated in P. subpiraticus, changed the SOD and GST activities, and caused significant adverse effects at the molecular level on metabolism and immune and oxidative stress, with time- and concentration-dependent differences. Transcriptome analysis showed that acute Cd exposure depressed lipid metabolism and induced protein metabolism, especially serine metabolism. Genes encoding lipoproteins were depressed when exposed to 0.2 mM Cd, while fatty acid-related genes were downregulated under 2 mM Cd stress. In total, 46 cuticle-related genes were upregulated, and 6 cytoskeleton-related genes changed notably in the immune process. Peroxidase-related genes were further upregulated significantly. Meanwhile, the pathways related to metabolism, immunity and oxidative stress were significantly enriched. This report illustrated that acute Cd exposure exerts toxicities on P. subpiraticus and the spiders against acute Cd toxicities by selective differential expression of the genes associated with the physiological process of metabolism and immune and antioxidant stress. This study provides a comprehensive transcriptional basis for understanding the response of the P. sublimations to heavy metals at different concentrations and different treatment times.

Abstract
Glycyrrhizin (GL) and Glycyrrhetic Acid 3-O-mono-β-D-glucuronide (GAMG) are the typical triterpenoid glycosides found in the root of licorice, a popular medicinal plant that exhibits diverse physiological effects and pharmacological manifestations. However, only few reports are available on the glycosylation enzymes involved in the biosynthesis of these valuable compounds with low conversion yield so far. In mammals, glycosyltransferases are involved in the phase II metabolism and may provide new solutions for us to engineer microbial strains to produce high valued compounds due to the substrate promiscuity of these glycosyltransferases. In this study, we mined the genomic databases of mammals and evaluated 22 candidate genes of O-glycosyltransferases by analyzing their catalytic potential for O-glycosylation of the native substrate, glycyrrhetinic acid (GA) for its glycodiversification. Out of 22 selected glycosyltransferases, only UGT1A1 exhibited high catalytic performance for biosynthesis of the key licorice compounds GL and GAMG. Molecular docking results proposed that the enzymatic activity of UGT1A1 was likely owing to the stable hydrogen bonding interactions and favorite conformations between the amino acid residues around substrate channels (P82~R85) and substrates. Furthermore, the complete biosynthesis pathway of GL was reconstructed in Saccharomyces cerevisiae for the first time, resulting in the production of 5.98 ± 0.47 mg/L and 2.31 ± 0.21 mg/L of GL and GAMG, respectively.

Abstract
Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the most commonly diagnosed cancers with high mortality worldwide. Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2D), known as a risk factor of CRC, can promote the deterioration of CRC, but the underlying mechanism is elusive. In this study, we aimed to reveal the relationship between CRC and T2D from the perspective of small-molecule metabolism. First, a list of common dysregulated metabolites in CRC and T2D was obtained by retrieving existing metabolomics publications. Among these metabolites, oleic acid (OA) was found to be able to promote the proliferation and migration of colon carcinoma cell HCT116. Further experiments proved that insulin could significantly strengthen this promotion and showed a synergistic effect with OA. Mechanism study found that OA and insulin acted synergistically through the extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK)1/2/c-Myc/cyclin D1 pathway. In addition, the combination of ERK1/2 inhibitor SCH772984 and cyclin-dependent kinase (CDK)4/6 inhibitor palbociclib showed a remarkable inhibitory effect on tumor growth in vivo. Taken together, the current study found that OA plays an important role in CRC development by using a functional metabolomics approach. More importantly, insulin and OA were confirmed to synergistically promote the deterioration of CRC in vitro and in vivo via ERK1/2/c-Myc/cyclin D1 pathway. Our findings may shed light on CRC treatment among the T2D population.

Abstract
Hypothyroidism is a common endocrine disease caused by a deficiency of thyroid hormones, which could affect the hypothalamus-pituitary-gonadal (HPG) axis and cause additional severe fertility problems. However, the pathogenesis of abnormal reproductive capacity caused by hypothyroidism and whether there are differences between females and males need more study. Here, we constructed a prolonged neonatal hypothyroid rat model using 6-propyl-2-thiouracil (PTU). H&E staining and RNA-sequencing were performed to detect histopathological and transcriptome changes. Our results indicated that the numbers of ventromedial hypothalamus nuclei were increased, and the number of pituitary chromophobes was sharply increased, whereas the proportion of pituitary acidophils and pituitary basophils were obviously reduced. The differentially expressed genes of the HPG axis organs were identified, and different tissues shared similar steroid hormone and oxidative stress-related terms in gene ontology analysis. Weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA) and differential expression analysis indicated oxidative stress, and apoptosis-related genes were more enriched in male hypothyroid pituitaries, whereas the serum levels of growth hormone, follicle-stimulating hormone, and luteinizing hormone that were detected by ELISA were also reduced more in male hypothyroid rats, suggesting that prolonged neonatal hypothyroidism may have a more significant impact on male pituitaries. Moreover, the multi-organ oxidative stress in hypothyroid rats was confirmed by the higher expression of oxidative stress-related genes, such as the Txnip. The increased level of oxidative stress may have contributed to the histopathological and transcriptome changes of HPG axis organs in the prolonged neonatal hypothyroidism rats, especially in male pituitaries.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Arthroscopic debridement is a mature treatment for knee osteoarthritis (KOA). Due to the differences in the research subjects, methods, and efficacy evaluation indexes, there are great differences in the surgical efficacy reported in the literature.
AIM To compare the medium-term efficacy of arthroscopic debridement and conservative treatment for KOA of Kellgren-Lawrence grades I-III.
METHODS Patients with KOA of Kellgren-Lawrence grades I-III who were admitted to the orthopedic clinic of our hospital from July 2018 to December 2018 and agreed to undergo arthroscopic surgery were included in an arthroscopic debridement group, and those who refused surgical treatment were included in a conservative treatment group. Gender, age, body mass index (BMI), side of KOA, American hospital for special surgery knee score (HSS score) before treatment, visual analogue scale (VAS) score during walking and rest before treatment, conservative treatment content, and surgical procedure were recorded. Outpatient visits were conducted at the 1st, 3rd, 6th, 12th, and 24th mo after treatment in the two groups. The changes of HSS score and VAS score in each group before and after treatment were statistically analyzed, and the differences of HSS score and VAS score in different treatment stages between the two groups were also compared.
RESULTS In the conservative treatment group, there were 80 patients with complete follow-up data, including 20 males and 60 females, aged 58.75 ± 14.66 years old. And in the knee arthroscopic debridement group, there were 98 patients with complete follow-up data, including 24 males and 74 females, aged 59.27 ± 14.48 years old. There was no statistically significant difference in the general data (gender, age, BMI, side of KOA, Kellgren-Lawrence grade distribution, HSS score, and VAS score) between the two groups before treatment. The HSS scores of the conservative treatment group at the 1st, 3rd, 6th, 12th, and 24th mo after treatment were significantly higher than that before treatment (P < 0.05). There was no statistical difference in HSS score of the conservative treatment group among the 1st, 3rd, 6th, 12th, and 24th mo (P > 0.05). The HSS score of the knee arthroscopic debridement group at the 1st mo after surgery was significantly higher than that before surgery (P < 0.05). HSS scores of the knee arthroscopic debridement group at the 3rd, 6th, 12th, and 24th mo were significantly higher than those before surgery and at the 1st mo after surgery (P < 0.05). There were no statistically significant differences in HSS scores at the 3rd, 6th, 12th, and 24th mo after surgery (P > 0.05). HSS scores at the 3rd, 6th, 12th, and 24th mo were significantly higher in the arthroscopic debridement group than in the conservative treatment group (P < 0.05). There was no statistical difference in HSS scores between the two groups before treatment and at the 1st mo of follow-up (P > 0.05). VAS scores during walking and rest were significantly decreased in both groups, and the VAS score during rest was significantly lower in the arthroscopic debridement group than in the conservative treatment group, but there was no significant difference in the VAS score during walking between the two groups after treatment.
CONCLUSION Compared with conservative treatment, arthroscopic debridement can significantly improve the knee resting pain and knee functional status of patients with KOA of Kellgren-Lawrence grades I-III within 2 years after treatment.

Abstract
Weyl points (WPs), nodal degenerate points in three-dimensional (3D) momentum space, are said to be 'ideal' if they are symmetry-related and well-separated, and reside at the same energy and far from nontopological bands. Although type-II WPs have unique spectral characteristics compared with type-I counterparts, ideal type-II WPs have not yet been reported because of a lack of an experimental platform with enough flexibility to produce strongly tilted dispersion bands. Here, we experimentally realize a topological circuit that hosts only topological bands with a minimal number of four ideal type-II WPs. By stacking two-dimensional (2D) layers of inductor-capacitor (LC) resonator dimers with the broken parity inversion symmetry (P), we achieve a strongly tilted band structure with two group velocities in the same direction, and topological surface states in an incomplete bandgap. Our results establish an ideal system for the further study of Weyl physics and other exotic topological phenomena.

Abstract
Cadmium (Cd) is a widely distributed heavy metal in south of China. Growing evidence indicates that systemic exposure to Cd, particularly the long-term exposure, may cause neurotoxic effects. Nevertheless, mechanisms underlying Cd neurotoxicity remain not completely understood. In this report, we investigated the neural alterations in the spider Pardosa pseudoannulata (Bösenberg and Strand, 1906) exposed to long-term Cd (LCd) and short-term Cd (SCd) pressure. Cd stress lowered foraging ability and prey consuming time in the spiders. In addition, enzymatic analysis results indicated that Cd exposure reduced the level of acetylcholinesterase at subcellular level. We then identified differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in the Cd exposed spiders using pairwise comparisons and found that a large number of DEGs were related to neurotransmitter receptors and ion transport and binding proteins. Notably, LCd exposure harbored more altered genes in ion transporter activity comparing with SCd exposure. From six K-means clusters, 53 putative transcriptional factors (TFs) belonging to 21 families were characterized, and ZBTB subfamily displayed the most distinctive alterations in the characterized genes, which is assumed to play a key role in the regulation of ion transmembrane process under Cd stress. A protein-to-protein interaction network constructed by the yielded DEGs also showed that ion and receptor binding activities were affected under long-term Cd exposure. Four key modules from the network indicated that Cd may further down-regulate energy metabolism pathway in spiders. Collectively, this comprehensive analysis provides multi-dimensional insights to understand the molecular response of spiders to Cd exposure.

Abstract
The Hedgehog pathway, critical to vertebrate development, is organized in primary cilia. Activation of signaling causes the Hedgehog receptor Ptch1 to exit cilia, allowing a second receptor, Smo, to accumulate in cilia and activate the downstream steps of the pathway. Mechanisms regulating the dynamics of these receptors are unknown, but the ubiquitination of Smo regulates its interaction with the intraflagellar transport system to control ciliary levels. A focused screen of ubiquitin-related genes identified nine required for maintaining low ciliary Smo at the basal state. These included cytoplasmic E3s (Arih2, Mgrn1, and Maea), a ciliary localized E3 (Wwp1), a ciliary localized E2 (Ube2l3), a deubiquitinase (Bap1), and three adaptors (Kctd5, Skp1a, and Skp2). The ciliary E3, Wwp1, binds Ptch1 and localizes to cilia at the basal state. Activation of signaling removes both Ptch1 and Wwp1 from cilia, thus providing an elegant mechanism for Ptch1 to regulate ciliary Smo levels.

Abstract
Background Metoclopramide is frequently prescribed as an adjuvant for the postpyloric placement of nasoenteric tubes (NETs). However, a recent meta‐analysis showed that metoclopramide was not beneficial in adults. Thus, this study aimed to reevaluate the effect of metoclopramide on the postpyloric placement of NETs. Methods A systematic search of PubMed, Embase, the Cochrane Library, Web of Science, Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), and Wanfang data was conducted up to August 2020 for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) comparing metoclopramide with placebo or no intervention. Trial sequential analysis (TSA) was used for the primary outcomes (the success rate of the postpyloric placement of NETs). Results Seven eligible RCTs that included 520 participants were identified. The results of the pooled effect sizes showed that metoclopramide significantly facilitated the postpyloric placement of NETs (relative risk [RR], 1.48; 95% CI, 1.11–1.97; P = .007; I2 = 37%). However, the risk‐of‐bias assessment and the TSA results indicated that the qualities of the RCTs and the sample sizes were insufficient to confirm the efficacy of metoclopramide. Further subgroup analysis revealed that successful postpyloric placement was more pronounced in studies in which spiral NETs were employed (RR, 1.85; 95% CI, 1.41–2.43; P < .001; I2 = 0%). Additionally, overall adverse events were minimal. Conclusions The evidence accumulated so far was not strong enough to demonstrate metoclopramide's beneficial effects on the postpyloric placement of NETs. Further high‐quality, large‐sample RCTs are required to elucidate the effects of metoclopramide.

Abstract
Background: This study was designed to explore the levels of serum moleculartumor markers carbohydrate antigen 125 (CA125), human epididymis protein 4 (HE4), and carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) in patients with primary epithelial ovarian cancer, and their correlation with the progression of the cancer. Methods: A total of 222 people were enrolled in this study admitted to Jining Maternal and Child Health and Family Planning Service Center from January 2016 to December 2017. There were 122 patients with primary epithelial ovarian cancer (ovarian cancer group), 50 patients with benign ovarian diseases (benign control group), and 50 healthy individuals (normal control group). The levels of serum CA125, CEA, and HE4 were detected by the electrochemical luminescence method and ELISA. Results: The levels of serum CA125, HE4, and CEA in the ovarian cancer group were significantly higher than those in patients with the benign control group and the normal control group (P<0.01). The levels of serum CA125, HE4, and CEA in the high clinical staging group (stage III and stage II), low differentiation group, comorbid ascites group, metastasis group, and recurrence group were significantly higher than those in the low clinical staging group (stage I and stage II), high + moderate differentiation group, non-ascites group, non-metastasis group, and non-recurrence group, respectively (all P<0.05), and the levels of serum CA125, HE4, and CEA decreased significantly after treatment (P<0.01). Conclusion: The levels of serum CA125, HE4, and CEA are closely related to the development and progression of epithelial ovarian cancer, and combined detection of CA125, HE4 and CEA is of great significance for early diagnosis, disease development monitoring, and prognosis evaluation of epithelial ovarian cancer.

Abstract
Heterogeneously structured materials with supported precious metals, such as Pd, Pt, and Ru, as co-catalysts are important catalysts for efficient photocatalytic water splitting. However, the high costs and low reserves of precious metals have been an obstacle to their application in hydrogen production. In this work, the noble-metal-free Cd0.3Zn0.7S solid solution was designed and synthesized with an optimized molar ratio of Cd/Zn for the best visible light photocatalytic performance. In addition, a heterojunction hybrid material formed between the Cd0.3Zn0.7S and Ni(OH)2 nanosheet was engineered to improve the utilization of light and to inhibit the recombination of holes and electrons. Ni(OH)2 nanosheets assisted the transfer of the photoexcited electrons to participate in the reduction reactions which is critical for efficient and rapid catalytic hydrogen production. The photoelectrochemical property of the hybrid material was investigated with UV-vis absorption, photoluminance (PL) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy measurements. The mechanism of the high-efficiency and low-cost photocatalytic hydrogen production was established by analyzing the hydrogen evolution kinetics. With the success of replacing precious metal with nickel-based surface heterostructure, this work is expected to provide a new type of photocatalyst for the application of photocatalytic hydrogen production.

Abstract
Gradient metasurfaces have attracted much attention due to intriguing wavefront and polarization manipulation. Here, a bilayer gradient metasurface is constructed by use of a rectangular nanorod layer and its complementary nanoaperture. It reveals asymmetric anomalous reflection and symmetric anomalous transmission for two counter-propagating directions. The dependence of the anomalous reflection and transmission phenomena on nanostructure thickness are numerically studied in optical frequencies. The increasing metallic layer thickness of the gradient metasurface greatly enhances anomalous reflection of the left-handed circularly polarized wave (LCP) for the nanorod side and suppresses anomalous reflection for the other side. Both resonant frequencies of anomalous reflection and transmission linearly shift with the refractive index. The bilayer gradient metasurface is important for realizing wavefront modulation and optical sensing.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The aim of the present study was to assess the effectiveness of 4 different remote ischaemic preconditioning (RIPC) protocols varying in duration and frequency for preventing acute mountain sickness (AMS). Methods: The participants in the four RIPC groups received different RIPC treatments in the arms at a low altitude; the control group did not receive a specific sham treatment. The participants were then flown to a High Altitude (3650 m). The primary outcome was the incidence and severity of AMS evaluated by the Lake Louise score (LLS) after arrival; vital signs were collected simultaneously. We performed an intention-to-treat analysis. Results: A total of 250 participants were included with 50 participants in each group. The total AMS incidence in all participants was 26.4%. A total of 20 AMS cases (40%) occurred in the control group, whereas 15 AMS cases (30%) occurred both in the RIPC A and RIPC B groups (relative risk 1.3; 95% confidence interval 0.8 - 2.3; χ2 = 1.099; p = 0.29), and 8 AMS cases (16%) occurred both in the RIPC C and D groups (RR 2.5; 95% CI 1.2 - 5.2; χ2 = 7.143, p < 0.01), with significantly lower LLSs in the RIPC C and D groups (F = 6.51, p <0.001). Conclusion: This study demonstrated that a four-week RIPC intervention but not a one-week regimen reduced AMS incidence and severity; however, a placebo effect might have contributed to the results of this study. Abstract
Purpose Osteosarcoma is the most common malignant bone cancer affecting adolescents and young adults. This study aimed to screen potential diagnostic and therapeutic markers for osteosarcoma. Methods Differential expression analysis between osteosarcoma and control was performed in GSE99671, the differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were subjected to co-expression analysis. Enrichment analysis was employed to identify the biological functions and KEGG signaling pathways of module genes. In addition, a differential analysis was also performed between recurrent and non-recurrent osteosarcoma samples in GSE39055, and enrichment analysis was performed for DEGs. Further, Kaplan–Meier curve analysis was performed on the module genes, and receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was drawn. Comparison of the module with the highest correlation to osteosarcoma identified key genes. Cox regression model was utilized to identify the predictive ability of key genes for the prognosis of osteosarcoma. Results A total of 13 co-expression modules were identified from 4871 DEGs of GSE99671, module 1 had the highest positive correlation with osteosarcoma. Module genes were mainly enriched in autophagy and macrophage migration functions. A total of 1126 DEGs were obtained from GSE39055, significantly involved in neutrophil mediated immunity. Screening of genes with area under the ROC curve (AUC) values greater than 0.73 in both GSE99671 and GSE39055 identified 5 key genes when compared with genes from module 1. The nomogram results showed that ATF5, CHCHD8, ENOPH1, and LOC286367 might predict 5-year or 8-year survival time of osteosarcoma patients. The Cox model results confirmed that the signals of ATF5, CHCHD8, and LOC286367 were robust, and it may be used in the diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of osteosarcoma. Conclusion We found that ATF5, CHCHD8, and LOC286367 can effectively identify osteosarcoma tumorigenesis and even recurrence status. This is helpful for early diagnosis and treatment, improving the clinical treatment of patients with osteosarcoma.

Abstract
Huang-Qin Decoction (HQD) is a classic prescription for diarrhea in Chinese medicine treatment. Recent studies have demonstrated that HQD and its modified formulation PHY906 could ameliorate irinotecan (CPT-11) induced gastrointestinal (GI) toxicity and enhance its anticancer therapeutic efficacy. Nevertheless, which constituents in HQD are effective is still unclear so far. The study aims to screen out the key bioactive components combination from HQD that could enhance the anticancer effect of CPT-11. First, the potential bioactive constituents were obtained through system pharmacology strategy. Then the bioactivity of each constituent was investigated synthetically from the aspects of NCM460 cell migration, TNF-α release of THP-1-derived macrophage and MTT assay in HCT116 cell. The contribution of each constituent in HQD was evaluated using the bioactive index Ei, which taken the content and bioactivity into comprehensive consideration. And then, the most contributing constituents were selected out to form a key-component combination. At last, the bioefficacy of the key-component combination was validated in vitro and in vivo. As a result, a key-component combination (HB4) consisting of four compounds baicalin, baicalein, glycyrrhizic acid and wogonin was screened out. In vitro assessment indicated that HB4 could enhance the effect of CPT-11 on inhibiting cell proliferation and inducing apoptosis in HCT116. Furthermore, the in vivo study confirmed that HB4 and HQD have similar pharmacological activity and could both enhance the antitumor effect of CPT-11 in HCT116 xenograft model. Meanwhile, HB4 could also reduce the CPT-11 induced GI toxicity.

Abstract
Proper training is essential to achieve reliable pattern recognition (PR) based myoelectric control. The amount of training is commonly determined by experience. The purpose of this study is to provide an offline validation method that makes the offline performance transferable to online control and find the proper amount of training that achieves good online performance. In the offline experiment, eight able-bodied subjects and three amputees participated in a ten-day training. Repeatability index (RI) and classification error (CE) were used to evaluate user learning and machine learning, respectively. The performance of cross-validation (CV) and time serial related validation (TSV) was compared. Learning curves were established with different training trials by TSV. In the online experiment, sixteen able-bodied subjects were randomly divided into two groups with one- or five-trial training, respectively, followed by participating in the test with and without classifier-output feedback. The correlation between offline and online tests was analyzed. Results indicated that five-trial training was proper to train the user and the classifier. The long-term retention of skills could not shorten the learning process. The correlation between CEs of TSV and the online test was strong ( r=0.87 ) with five-trial training, while the correlation between CEs of CV and the online test was weak ( r=0.30 ). Outcomes demonstrate that offline performance evaluated by TSV is transferable to online performance and the learning process can guide the user to achieve good online myoelectric control with minimum training.

Abstract
Atmospheric extinction is impacted by the chemical composition of particles. To better understand the chemical composition of PM2.5 (particles with diameters of less than 2.5 μm) and its relationship with extinction, one-month sampling campaigns were carried out in four different seasons from 2013 to 2014 in Jinan, China. The seasonal average concentrations of PM2.5 were 120.9 (autumn), 156.6 (winter), 102.5 (spring), and 111.8 μg/m3 (summer). The reconstructed PM2.5 chemical composition showed that sulfate, nitrate, chlorine salt, organic matter (OM), mineral dust, elemental carbon (EC) and others accounted for 25%, 14%, 2%, 24%, 22%, 3% and 10%, respectively. The relationship between the chemical composition of PM2.5 and visibility was reconstructed by the IMPROVE method, and ammonium sulfate, ammonium nitrate, OM and EC dominated the visibility. Seven main sources were resolved for PM2.5, including secondary particles, coal combustion, biomass burning, industry, motor vehicle exhaust, soil dust and cooking, which accounted for 37%, 21%, 13%, 13%, 12%, 3% and 1%, respectively. The contributions of different sources to visibility were similar to those to PM2.5. With increasing severity of air pollution, the contributions of secondary particles and coal combustion increased, while the contribution of motor vehicle exhaust decreased. The results showed that coal combustion and biomass burning were still the main sources of air pollution in Jinan.

Abstract
In the absence of Hedgehog ligand, patched-1 (Ptch1) localizes to cilia and prevents ciliary accumulation and activation of smoothened (Smo). Upon ligand binding, Ptch1 is removed from cilia, and Smo is derepressed and accumulates in cilia where it activates signaling. The mechanisms regulating these dynamic movements are not well understood, but defects in intraflagellar transport components, including Ift27 and the BBSome, cause Smo to accumulate in cilia without pathway activation. We find that in the absence of ligand-induced pathway activation, Smo is ubiquitinated and removed from cilia, and this process is dependent on Ift27 and BBSome components. Activation of Hedgehog signaling decreases Smo ubiquitination and ciliary removal, resulting in its accumulation. Blocking ubiquitination of Smo by an E1 ligase inhibitor or by mutating two lysine residues in intracellular loop three causes Smo to aberrantly accumulate in cilia without pathway activation. These data provide a mechanism to control Smo's ciliary level during Hedgehog signaling by regulating the ubiquitination state of the receptor.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between von Willebrand factor (vWF) expression and lymph node metastasis or hemodynamics parameters in PTC. This work will provide a novel biomarker for the diagnosis of papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC). PATIENTS AND METHODS A total of 156 PTC patients were divided into metastatic and non-metastatic groups based on the presence or absence of lymph node metastasis. The Adler blood flow grading, color doppler flow imaging (CDFI), and blood flow index (PSV, PI, RI, AT) were measured and analyzed between the two groups. The expression of vWF was examined by immunocytochemical assay and quantitative Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (qRT-PCR). The function of vWF was investigated by methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium (MTT) and the transwell assays. RESULTS Both metastatic and non-metastatic groups with the major Adler grades as 0-1 had abundant blood flows. There was a significant difference in the rate of lymph node metastasis between Adler 2-3 and Adler 0-1. Moreover, the expression of vWF was found to be associated with lymph node metastasis or Adler blood flow grade in PTC. Significant differences in peak systolic velocity (PSV), systolic acceleration time (AT), and resistance index (RI) were detected in metastatic and non-metastatic groups. In addition, the upregulation of vWF was positively correlated with PSV, RI, and PI in PTC. Functionally, the knockdown of vWF inhibited the development of PTC by suppressing cell proliferation, migration, and invasion. CONCLUSIONS Abnormal expression of vWF is closely related to lymph node metastasis and hemodynamics parameters in PTC patients. Furthermore, vWF plays an oncogene role in PTC progression.

Abstract
The stereoselective fates of chiral pesticides in the environment has been reported in many studies. However, there is little data focused on the fate of chiral fosthiazate in the soil and aquatic ecosystems at chiral view. This study investigated the stereoselective fate of fosthiazate in the soil and aquatic ecosystems using ultra-performance liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS) and liquid chromatography tandem time-of-flight mass spectrometry (LC-TOF/MS/MS). Significant stereoselective degradation among four fosthiazate stereoisomers were found in both greenhouse soil and water-sediment microcosms. In greenhouse soil, (1R,3S)-fosthiazate degraded faster than other three stereoisomers with the half-life of 2.7 d. The fosthiazate stereisomers in the seawater-sediment microcosm degraded more rapidly than in the river water-sediment microcosm. However, (1S,3R)-fosthiazate and (1S,3S)-fosthiazate possessed shorter degradation half-lives than their enantiomers in both microcosms, with the half-lives ranging from 3.4 d to 15.8 d. Ten degradation products were identified in the water-sediment microcosms, and, six of them were reported for the first time. Oxidation and hydrolysis were confirmed as the main degradation pathways of fosthiazate in the water-sediment microcosms. Our results revealed that the (1R,3S)-fosthiazate and (1R,3R)-fosthiazate may cause more serious ecotoxicity due to the longer half-lives than the other two stereoisomers in environment.
