Abstract
Objective: To investigate the tear film stability after trabeculectomy and its relationship with bleb morphology using Optical Quality Analysis System Ⅱ (OQAS Ⅱ). Methods: A cross-sectional study. Glaucoma patients undergoing trabeculectomy in the Eye Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University from November 2011 to November 2016 were invited by telephone to perform optical quality, bleb photography, and break-up time examinations, and history of surgeries and medications was collected. Bleb morphology was graded according to the Indiana bleb appearance grading scale. The tear film stability was the average objective scatter index value measured using OQAS Ⅱ for 10 seconds after blinking minus the baseline objective scatter index. The higher the tear film stability value, the worse the stability. The difference in the tear film stability between the surgical eyes and non-surgical eyes was compared by the Mann-Whitney U test, and the relationships between the optical quality, bleb height, extent and vascularity were compared by the Kruskal-Wallis H test. Results: Sixty-three patients (76 eyes) were enrolled in the study, including 55 surgical eyes and 21 non-surgical eyes. The mean follow-up time was (39.6±26.2) months. In the surgical and non-surgical eyes, the M(Q(R)) of tear film stability was 0.46 (0.86) and 0.23 (0.41), respectively. The tear film stability in the surgical eyes was reduced compared to the non-surgical eyes (P=0.044). The trabeculectomy group was divided into three subgroups according to the height of the filtering bleb: H0 (17 eyes), H1 (24 eyes) and H2-3 (14 eyes). The M(Q(R)) of tear film stability in the three subgroups was 0.40(0.68), 0.70(1.02) and 0.40(1.24), respectively, with no statistically significant difference detected (P=0.481). According to the bleb extent, the surgical group was divided into two subgroups: E0-1 (36 eyes) and E2-3 (19 eyes). The M(Q(R)) of optical quality in the two subgroups was 0.63 (0.78) and 0.26(1.17), respectively, with no significant difference detected (P=0.261). According to the degree of bleb vascularity, the surgical group was divided into three subgroups: V0 (25 eyes), V1 (14 eyes), and V2-3 (16 eyes). The M(Q(R)) of optical quality in the three subgroups was 0.39 (0.69), 0.55 (1.18) and 0.63 (1.24), respectively, with no significant difference (P=0.401). Conclusion: Although tear film stability decrease after trabeculectomy, the decrease is not associated with the bleb morphology. (Chin J Ophthalmol, 2019, 55:214-219).

Abstract
Abstract
Background: Deregulation of fibroblast growth factor receptor 1 (FGFR1) signalling has been extensively studied in various tumor types, and has been implicated in driving endocrine resistance in breast cancer. Genetic alterations of FGFR1, especially FGFR1 amplification, is one of particularly important mechanisms leading to enhanced FGFR signaling in breast cancer. However, the prevalence of FGFR1/2 genetic variations in Chinese breast cancer patients has not been well explored.
Methods: To investigate the characteristics of FGFR1 and FGFR2 genetic variations in Chinese breast cancer, we employed customized next-generation sequencing panel to screen the somatic mutation or copy number variations of FGFR1/2 in primary breast cancer tissues by using two ongoing breast cancer Cohorts, in which we have recruited 289 of early breast cancer patients (EBC Cohort) and 74 of advanced breast cancer patients (ABC Cohort).
Results: In EBC Cohort, we found FGFR1 amplification in 9.0% (26/289) patients and FGFR2 amplification in 2.1% (6/289) patients, and also found 3 of somatic FGFR1 mutations (FGFR1 p.W4C; p.E334K; p.V396I ) and 2 of FGFR2 mutations (FGFR2 p.S702L; p.Y779*). Unlike the comparable prevalence of FGFR2 genetic variations in 2.8% (8/289) of EBC Cohort and 2.7% (2/74; one amplification event and one FGFR2 p.E499D mutation) of ABC Cohort, there were more FGFR1 genetic alterations in ABC Cohort (27%; 20/74 patients; p<0.001), including 19 events of FGFR1 amplification and 1 of FGFR1 c.2186+20G>A intron mutation. More importantly, we identified 5 novel FGFR1 fusion genes in our cohorts, including TACC1-FGFR1, FGFR1-KCNU1, FGFR1-MIR1268A, FGFR1-LZTS1-AS1 and FGFR1-RNF5P1. Although FGFR1-TACC1 fusion gene has been previously reported in breast cancer and TACC1 is fused to the C-terminal of FGFR1 protein leading to aberrant activation of FGFR1, we found TACC1 was fused to the N-terminal of FGFR1 at exon 6 of FGFR1 in our study. In addition, we identified and verified FGFR1-MIR1268A fusion gene at mRNA level using RNA-seq analysis, and further found this fusion gene might result in the truncation of FGFR1.
Conclusions: Collectively, we characterized the prevalence of FGFR1/2 genetic alterations in Chinese breast cancer, and identified 5 of novel FGFR1 fusion genes. The potential roles for novel FGFR1 fusion genes in regulating breast cancer cellular biology and in affecting the efficacy of endocrine therapy have been under the investigation in our laboratory, and the result from which will help us better elucidate the molecular mechanism of FGFR1 in driving the resistance of endocrine therapy.

Abstract
We analyze the impact of a proposed tidal instability coupling p modes and g modes within neutron stars on GW170817. This nonresonant instability transfers energy from the orbit of the binary to internal modes of the stars, accelerating the gravitational-wave driven inspiral. We model the impact of this instability on the phasing of the gravitational wave signal using three parameters per star: an overall amplitude, a saturation frequency, and a spectral index. Incorporating these additional parameters, we compute the Bayes factor (lnB_{!pg}^{pg}) comparing our p-g model to a standard one. We find that the observed signal is consistent with waveform models that neglect p-g effects, with lnB_{!pg}^{pg}=0.03_{-0.58}^{+0.70} (maximum a posteriori and 90% credible region). By injecting simulated signals that do not include p-g effects and recovering them with the p-g model, we show that there is a ≃50% probability of obtaining similar lnB_{!pg}^{pg} even when p-g effects are absent. We find that the p-g amplitude for 1.4 M_{⊙} neutron stars is constrained to less than a few tenths of the theoretical maximum, with maxima a posteriori near one-tenth this maximum and p-g saturation frequency ∼70 Hz. This suggests that there are less than a few hundred excited modes, assuming they all saturate by wave breaking. For comparison, theoretical upper bounds suggest ≲10^{3} modes saturate by wave breaking. Thus, the measured constraints only rule out extreme values of the p-g parameters. They also imply that the instability dissipates ≲10^{51} erg over the entire inspiral, i.e., less than a few percent of the energy radiated as gravitational waves.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To evaluate changes in urethral mobility and configuration after prolapse repair. METHODS This was a retrospective study of 92 patients who were examined between 2005 and 2016 before and after surgery for pelvic organ prolapse (POP) without concomitant anti-incontinence surgery. All patients were assessed with an interview, POP quantification and translabial four-dimensional ultrasound. Urethral mobility was evaluated using semi-automated urethral motion profile software in which x- and y-coordinates of six equidistant points along the length of the urethra were determined both at rest and on Valsalva, relative to the posteroinferior margin of the pubic symphysis. Urethral kinking was measured by placing tangents distal and proximal to any visually identified change in the urethral axis. Imaging data obtained before and after prolapse surgery were compared. RESULTS Mean age was 58 years and mean follow-up was 5.8 months. Prolapse symptoms had resolved in 85% of patients. Highly significant reductions in urethral mobility and urethral kinking were seen after surgery (all P ≤ 0.001). Similar changes were observed after anterior vaginal repair with or without apical repair, without concomitant posterior repair (n = 23; all P < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS POP surgery was associated significantly with 'straightening' of the urethra and reduction in urethral mobility. The effect seems to be due largely to cystocele repair. Abstract
Background Psoriasis (Ps) is a common chronic inflammatory skin disease. The keratinocytes of psoriatic skin defy normal apoptosis and exhibit active cell proliferation. Aberrant DNA methylation (DNAm) has been suggested relevant through regulating the expression of Ps susceptibility genes. However, it is unclear whether the biological age inferred from DNA methylome is affected. Results To address the above issue, we applied a recently developed methylation clock model to our Chinese Han population dataset, which includes DNAm data of 114 involved psoriatic skin tissues (PP) and 41 uninvolved psoriatic skin tissues (PN) from Ps patients, and 62 normal skin tissues (NN) from health controls. We first confirmed the applicability of the clock in PN and NN. We then showed that PP samples have largely unchanged DNAm age, and that no association was observed between available clinical features and DNAm age acceleration. Examination of genome-wide CpGs yielded age-associated CpGs with concordant age-association coefficients among the three groups, which was also supported by an external dataset. We also interestingly observed two clock CpGs differentially methylated between PP and PN. Conclusions Overall, our results suggest no significant alteration in DNAm age in PN and PP. Therefore, the increase in keratinocyte proliferation and alteration in DNAm caused by Ps may not affect the biological age of psoriatic skin tissue. Abstract
We present the first Advanced LIGO and Advanced Virgo search for ultracompact binary systems with component masses between 0.2 M_{⊙}-1.0 M_{⊙} using data taken between September 12, 2015 and January 19, 2016. We find no viable gravitational wave candidates. Our null result constrains the coalescence rate of monochromatic (delta function) distributions of nonspinning (0.2 M_{⊙}, 0.2 M_{⊙}) ultracompact binaries to be less than 1.0×10^{6} Gpc^{-3} yr^{-1} and the coalescence rate of a similar distribution of (1.0 M_{⊙}, 1.0 M_{⊙}) ultracompact binaries to be less than 1.9×10^{4} Gpc^{-3} yr^{-1} (at 90% confidence). Neither black holes nor neutron stars are expected to form below ∼1 M_{⊙} through conventional stellar evolution, though it has been proposed that similarly low mass black holes could be formed primordially through density fluctuations in the early Universe and contribute to the dark matter density. The interpretation of our constraints in the primordial black hole dark matter paradigm is highly model dependent; however, under a particular primordial black hole binary formation scenario we constrain monochromatic primordial black hole populations of 0.2 M_{⊙} to be less than 33% of the total dark matter density and monochromatic populations of 1.0 M_{⊙} to be less than 5% of the dark matter density. The latter strengthens the presently placed bounds from microlensing surveys of massive compact halo objects (MACHOs) provided by the MACHO and EROS Collaborations.

Abstract
Objective:Observing the effect of maintain tension across suture between cartilages to fix new nasal structure on balance the asymmetric strength of the two sides of the cartilage and the recurrence of the postoperative crooked nose.Method:A L-shaped struct made of the nasal septum cartilage were fixed to maintain tension across structure between cartilage during rhinoplasty in 39 patients with crooked nasal deformity. Of 21 cases were type I deviation, of 12 cases were C-shaped deviation, and of 6 cases were S-shaped deviation.Result:A 1-5 years follow-up were performed. The effects were divided into three degrees: 30 cases excellent (76.92%), 6 cases good (15.38%) and 3 cases acceptable (7.69%).The rate of excellent and good was 92.31%(36/39). The type I improvement rate was 80.3%,the rate of type C was 83.6% and the improvement rate of type S was 84.1%,the overall improvement rate was about 81.9%.Conclusion:Suture under tension across cartilage can fix reconstruction of nasal structure effectively, improve the postoperative effect, reduce recurrence of crooked nose. The operation is simple and is an essential part of the nasal deformity correction technique.

GW170817: Measurements of Neutron Star Radii and Equation of State. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2018; 121:161101. Abstract
On 17 August 2017, the LIGO and Virgo observatories made the first direct detection of gravitational waves from the coalescence of a neutron star binary system. The detection of this gravitational-wave signal, GW170817, offers a novel opportunity to directly probe the properties of matter at the extreme conditions found in the interior of these stars. The initial, minimal-assumption analysis of the LIGO and Virgo data placed constraints on the tidal effects of the coalescing bodies, which were then translated to constraints on neutron star radii. Here, we expand upon previous analyses by working under the hypothesis that both bodies were neutron stars that are described by the same equation of state and have spins within the range observed in Galactic binary neutron stars. Our analysis employs two methods: the use of equation-of-state-insensitive relations between various macroscopic properties of the neutron stars and the use of an efficient parametrization of the defining function p(ρ) of the equation of state itself. From the LIGO and Virgo data alone and the first method, we measure the two neutron star radii as R_{1}=10.8_{-1.7}^{+2.0} km for the heavier star and R_{2}=10.7_{-1.5}^{+2.1} km for the lighter star at the 90% credible level. If we additionally require that the equation of state supports neutron stars with masses larger than 1.97 M_{⊙} as required from electromagnetic observations and employ the equation-of-state parametrization, we further constrain R_{1}=11.9_{-1.4}^{+1.4} km and R_{2}=11.9_{-1.4}^{+1.4} km at the 90% credible level. Finally, we obtain constraints on p(ρ) at supranuclear densities, with pressure at twice nuclear saturation density measured at 3.5_{-1.7}^{+2.7}×10^{34} dyn cm^{-2} at the 90% level.

Abstract
We report first measurements of e^{+}e^{-} pair production in the mass region 0.4<M_{ee}<2.6 GeV/c^{2} at low transverse momentum (p_{T}<0.15 GeV/c) in noncentral Au+Au collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=200 GeV and U+U collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=193 GeV. Significant enhancement factors, expressed as ratios of data over known hadronic contributions, are observed in the 40%-80% centrality of these collisions. The excess yields peak distinctly at low p_{T} with a width (sqrt[⟨p_{T}^{2}⟩]) between 40 and 60 MeV/c. The absolute cross section of the excess depends weakly on centrality, while those from a theoretical model calculation incorporating an in-medium broadened ρ spectral function and radiation from a quark gluon plasma or hadronic cocktail contributions increase dramatically with an increasing number of participant nucleons. Model calculations of photon-photon interactions generated by the initial projectile and target nuclei describe the observed excess yields but fail to reproduce the p_{T}^{2} distributions.

Abstract
Sepsis, a systemic inflammatory response syndrome induced by infection, has high rates of morbidity and mortality. Pneumonia is a major cause for sepsis; however, pneumonia complicated by sepsis is a difficult clinical diagnosis. To assess the clinical relevance of serum procalcitonin (PCT) and hypersensitive C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) in early diagnosis of pneumonia complicated by sepsis, 220 patients with pneumonia who were admitted to hospital from July 2015 to July 2016 were enrolled in this study. The patients were divided into non-sepsis (N=82), mild sepsis (N=97), severe sepsis (N=23), and septic shock (N=18) groups. The patients were also divided into a survival group (N=186) and a death group (N=34) according to their prognosis at 2 weeks. The PCT and hs-CRP levels and Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation-II (APACHE-II) scores of the two groups were evaluated. The PCT level and APACHE-II score showed a progressively increasing tendency in the non-sepsis, mild sepsis, severe sepsis, and septic shock group; the differences between all pairs of groups were significant (P less than 0.05). The hs-CRP level was significantly lower in the non-sepsis group than in the other groups (P less than 0.05), but differences among the other groups were not significant (P>0.05). The areas under the receiver operating characteristic curves of PCT and hs-CRP for diagnosis of pneumonia complicated by mild and severe sepsis were 0.841 and 0.817, respectively. The optimal cut-off points for pneumonia and sepsis were ≥0.5 ng/mL and ≥55 mg/L, respectively; the sensitivity and specificity were 71.42% and 82.13%, and 75.04% and 53.61%, respectively. The sensitivity and specificity of diagnosis based on PCT and hs-CRP were 89.32% and 85.68%, respectively. PCT and hs-CRP are used to assess the severity of pneumonia in combination with sepsis in new-borns, but PCT is more strongly related to the severity of sepsis than is hs-CRP. Detection of PCT in combination with hs-CRP facilitates the early diagnosis of pneumonia and sepsis in new-borns, as well as monitoring of the treatment response and prediction of the prognosis.

Abstract
We report measurements of the nuclear modification factor R_{CP} for charged hadrons as well as identified π^{+(-)}, K^{+(-)}, and p(p[over ¯]) for Au+Au collision energies of sqrt[s_{NN}]=7.7, 11.5, 14.5, 19.6, 27, 39, and 62.4 GeV. We observe a clear high-p_{T} net suppression in central collisions at 62.4 GeV for charged hadrons which evolves smoothly to a large net enhancement at lower energies. This trend is driven by the evolution of the pion spectra but is also very similar for the kaon spectra. While the magnitude of the proton R_{CP} at high p_{T} does depend on the collision energy, neither the proton nor the antiproton R_{CP} at high p_{T} exhibit net suppression at any energy. A study of how the binary collision-scaled high-p_{T} yield evolves with centrality reveals a nonmonotonic shape that is consistent with the idea that jet quenching is increasing faster than the combined phenomena that lead to enhancement.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The compromise of blood brain barrier (BBB) integrity is often associated with human hemorrhage stroke and neurodegeneration diseases, including retina diseases, such as age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. Brain pericytes play pivotal roles in regulation and maintenance of BBB integrity. However, the mechanisms underlying brain pericyte development to establish BBB integrity remain unclear. METHODS Zebrafish transgenic lines Tg(flk1:GFP; gata1:dsRed), Tg(flk1:GFP), Tg(fli1:GFP) and Tg(BRE:GFP) were used in this work. The functional studies of bmp3 were performed by mopholino oligonucleotide (MO) injection, dye-based permeability assay, RT-PCR, in vivo imaging, immunofluorescence staining and statics analysis. RESULTS Here we report that bmp3 regulates BBB integrity in zebrafish brain by promoting pericyte development. Knockdown of bmp3 with injection of bmp3-MO causes intracerebral hemorrhage in zebrafish embryos. Meanwhile, disruption of bmp3 function by bmp3-MO injection impairs cerebral pericyte coverage in zebrafish embryos. Mechanistically, knockdown of bmp3 disrupts the pattern and activities of BMP signaling in zebrafish brain, thus probably disrupting the balance of TGFβ/BMP signaling in zebrafish embryos. CONCLUSION In summary, our data shows that bmp3 regulates BBB integrity potentially by promoting pericyte development.

Abstract
BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES Respiratory dysfunction and/or failure from acute lung injury (ALI) are common in acute pancreatitis (AP), but assessment of ALI in experimental AP has lacked standardisation. METHODS A range of experimental AP models induced in C57BL/6 mice with corresponding controls (n = 6/group). Full double lung or right lung specimens were taken for histopathological assessment and slides analysed by a pre-set pipeline using Aperio Scanner (Leica), ImageJ software and CellProfiler software. Findings were compared to other routinely assessed parameters. RESULTS Overall histopathological changes were similar between both lungs. Mean lung field occupancy was significantly different between moderate and severe CER-AP (21.9% v 27.5%, p < 0.05) and corresponded with lung MPO and local injury severity parameters and was mirrored for all models tested. CONCLUSION We have developed a novel, simple method for assessment of ALI to improve measurement of systemic organ injury in experimental AP and contribute to preclinical drug development.

Abstract
The detection of gravitational waves with Advanced LIGO and Advanced Virgo has enabled novel tests of general relativity, including direct study of the polarization of gravitational waves. While general relativity allows for only two tensor gravitational-wave polarizations, general metric theories can additionally predict two vector and two scalar polarizations. The polarization of gravitational waves is encoded in the spectral shape of the stochastic gravitational-wave background, formed by the superposition of cosmological and individually unresolved astrophysical sources. Using data recorded by Advanced LIGO during its first observing run, we search for a stochastic background of generically polarized gravitational waves. We find no evidence for a background of any polarization, and place the first direct bounds on the contributions of vector and scalar polarizations to the stochastic background. Under log-uniform priors for the energy in each polarization, we limit the energy densities of tensor, vector, and scalar modes at 95% credibility to Ω_{0}^{T}<5.58×10^{-8}, Ω_{0}^{V}<6.35×10^{-8}, and Ω_{0}^{S}<1.08×10^{-7} at a reference frequency f_{0}=25 Hz.

Abstract
Porcine circovirus-like virus P1 is a novel unclassified circovirus that was first detected in China and may be associated with post-weaning multisystemic wasting syndrome (PMWS) and congenital tremor. In this study, we detected P1 infection in pigs in Hebei Province, China, in 2017. One hundred and forty of 500 (28.0%) serum samples from 25 pig farms with different PMWS status in seven cities were P1 positive on PCR. Twelve P1 strains were sequenced, and the complete genomes of 11 P1 strains were 648 nucleotides (nt) in length, whereas that of strain ZJK02 was 647 nt, with a G deletion at position of 183 in its genome. The complete genomic and capsid protein sequences of the 12 P1 strains analysed in this study shared 98.8%-100.0% and 86.5%-100.0% identity, respectively. A phylogenetic analysis based on the complete genomic and capsid sequences of 26 P1 strains showed that the 12 P1 sequences from Hebei Province clustered on two small branches. Further studies of the evolution and pathogenesis of P1 are required.

Abstract
This article has been retracted: please see Elsevier Policy on Article Withdrawal (http://www.elsevier.com/locate/withdrawalpolicy). The article has been retracted at the request of the Editor-in-Chief and the authors. The journal is retracting this paper after the authors reached out to the journal with a statement that several images contained duplications from another published paper. Part of the panels in Figure 1D and Figure 4D are duplications of panels in Figure 7 of Wang et al., Int J Mol Sci (2016), DOI: 10.3390/ijms17060969. The β-actin panel in Figure 2E is same as the α-tubulin panel in Figure 4B. In addition, the corresponding author informed the journal that “there were serious conflicts of personal interest, part of co-authors of this paper were not involved in the study and not aware of the submission, and they did not authorize their names to appear in the article”.
