Abstract
Canine ehrlichiosis is a very important emerging disease in India. This study is the first attempt screening a large number of canines in India for the detection of canine monocytic ehrlichiosis. In the present study, 510 blood samples of dogs were screened for the presence of Ehrlichia canis and other variants of Anaplasmataceae family by serological and molecular methods.Out of the 510 serum samples, 293 (57.5%) cases were found positive for the presence of E. canis antibodies through enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Furthermore, and 45 (8.8%) and 1 (0.2%) specimens were positive for E. canis and A. platys, respectively, based on the polymerase chain reaction (PCR). In the clinical samples of E. canis, the minimum detection limit for PCR was9 ng. In the immunofluorescence assay (IFA), the positive blood samples showed comparable results with those obtained from the commercially available dot ELISA kit (giving equivalent IFA titer). The results of sequencing were compared with other reported isolates in various regions of the world, and a phylogenetic relationship was established. The 16S rRNA region that was amplified and sequenced for E. canis and A. platys was highly conserved and so was another Vir B9 region.

Abstract
Objectives The single‐tablet regimen rilpivirine, emtricitabine and tenofovir alafenamide (RPV/FTC/TAF) for treatment of HIV‐1‐infected adults was approved based on bioequivalence. We assessed the clinical efficacy, safety and tolerability of switching to RPV/FTC/TAF from either RPV/FTC/tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (TDF) or efavirenz (EFV)/FTC/TDF. Methods We conducted two distinct randomized, double‐blind, active‐controlled, noninferiority trials in participants taking RPV/FTC/TDF (Study 1216) and EFV/FTC/TDF (Study 1160). Each study randomized virologically suppressed (HIV‐1 RNA < 50 copies/mL) adults (1:1) to switch to RPV/FTC/TAF or continue their current regimen for 96 weeks. We evaluated efficacy as the proportion with HIV‐1 RNA < 50 copies/mL using the Food and Drug Administration snapshot algorithm and prespecified bone and renal endpoints at week 96. Results We randomized and treated 630 participants in Study 1216 (RPV/FTC/TAF, n = 316; RPV/FTC/TDF, n = 314) and 875 in Study 1160 (RPV/FTC/TAF, n = 438; EFV/FTC/TDF, n = 437). In both studies, the efficacy of switching to RPV/FTC/TAF was noninferior to that of continuing baseline therapy at week 96, with respective percentages of patients with HIV RNA < 50 copies/mL being 89.2% versus 88.5% in Study 1216 [difference 0.7%; 95% confidence interval (CI) −4.3 to +5.8%] and 85.2% versus 85.1% in Study 1160 (difference 0%; 95% CI −4.8 to +4.8%). No participant on RPV/FTC/TAF developed treatment‐emergent resistance versus two on EFV/FTC/TDF and one on RPV/FTC/TDF. Compared with continuing baseline therapy, significant improvements in bone mineral density and renal tubular markers were observed in the RPV/FTC/TAF groups (P < 0.001). Conclusions Switching to RPV/FTC/TAF from RPV/FTC/TDF or EFV/FTC/TDF was safe and effective and improved bone mineral density and renal biomarkers up to 96 weeks with no cases of treatment‐emergent resistance.

Abstract
Plasma high-density lipoproteins (HDLs) are protein-lipid nanoparticles that transport lipids and protect against atherosclerosis. Human apolipoprotein A-I (apoA-I) is the principal HDL protein whose mutations can cause either aberrant lipid metabolism or amyloid disease. Hydrogen-deuterium exchange (HDX) mass spectrometry (MS) was used to study the apoA-I conformation in model discoidal lipoproteins similar in size to large plasma HDL. We examined how point mutations associated with hereditary amyloidosis (F71Y and L170P) or atherosclerosis (L159R) influence the local apoA-I conformation in model lipoproteins. Unlike other apoA-I forms, the large particles showed minimal conformational heterogeneity, suggesting a fully extended protein conformation. Mutation-induced structural perturbations in lipid-bound protein were attenuated compared to the free protein and indicated close coupling between the two belt-forming apoA-I molecules. These perturbations propagated to distant lipoprotein sites, either increasing or decreasing their protection. This HDX MS study of large model HDL, compared with previous studies of smaller particles, ascertained that apoA-I's central region helps accommodate the protein conformation to lipoproteins of various sizes. This study also reveals that the effects of mutations on lipoprotein conformational dynamics are much weaker than those in a lipid-free protein. Interestingly, the mutation-induced perturbations propagate to distant sites nearly 10 nm away and alter their protection in ways that cannot be predicted from the lipoprotein structure and stability. We propose that long-range mutational effects are mediated by both protein and lipid and can influence lipoprotein functionality.

Abstract
The paper presents analysis of our template-based and free docking predictions in the joint CASP12/CAPRI37 round. A new scoring function for template-based docking was developed, benchmarked on the Dockground resource, and applied to the targets. The results showed that the function successfully discriminates the incorrect docking predictions. In correctly predicted targets, the scoring function was complemented by other considerations, such as consistency of the oligomeric states among templates, similarity of the biological functions, biological interface relevance, etc. The scoring function still does not distinguish well biological from crystal packing interfaces, and needs further development for the docking of bundles of α-helices. In the case of the trimeric targets, sequence-based methods did not find common templates, despite similarity of the structures, suggesting complementary use of structure- and sequence-based alignments in comparative docking. The results showed that if a good docking template is found, an accurate model of the interface can be built even from largely inaccurate models of individual subunits. Free docking however is very sensitive to the quality of the individual models. However, our newly developed contact potential detected approximate locations of the binding sites.

Abstract
Introduction The aim of this study was to determine the epidemiological characteristics of suicide attempt cases who were admitted to the emergency departments and to determine their level of social support and related factors by using multidimensional scale of perceived social support (MSPSS). Methods This study was conducted simultaneously in two different centres between February 23 and June 31, 2009. Totally 260 suicidal cases who were admitted to the emergency departments were included in the study after obtaining the consents. Related derived data were collected with a questionnaire. The questionnaire determined epidemiological characteristics of suicide attempters by using MSPSS derived data. The data were analysed with percentage, mean, t test, ANOVA, and Scheffe test. Results About 70% of all cases were female and 63.1% of them were between 16 and 25 years of age. The main causes leading to suicide attempts were family problems (41.9%), financial problems (11.2%), and peer suicide attempts (5.4%). Drug use was the most common suicide method both in males and females. The MSPSS score was 52.47±17.81 (mean±SD, range=12-84). While being a member of a broken family, being widow/divorced, previously diagnosed mental disorder affected social support scores negatively, being a student or having a high level of education affected scores positively. Conclusion Family problems, financial problems, 16-25 age group, female sex, being divorced/widowed, being a member of broken family, chronic physical and psychological problems, and lower level of perceived social support are main characteristics associated with suicide attempts. Abstract
BACKGROUND Ramucirumab, the human immunoglobulin G1 monoclonal antibody receptor antagonist of vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2, has been approved for treating gastric/gastroesophageal junction, non-small-cell lung, and metastatic colorectal cancers. With the completion of six global, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, phase III trials across multiple tumor types, an opportunity now exists to further establish the safety parameters of ramucirumab across a large patient population. MATERIALS AND METHODS An individual patient meta-analysis across the six completed phase III trials was conducted and the relative risk (RR) and associated 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were derived using fixed-effects or mixed-effects models for all-grade and high-grade adverse events (AEs) possibly related to vascular endothelial growth factor pathway inhibition. The number needed to harm was also calculable due to the placebo-controlled nature of all six registration standard trials. RESULTS A total of 4996 treated patients (N = 2748 in the ramucirumab arm and N = 2248 in the control, placebo arm) were included in this meta-analysis. Arterial thromboembolic events [ATE; all-grade, RR: 0.8, 95% CI 0.5-1.3; high-grade (grade ≥3), RR: 0.9, 95% CI 0.5-1.7], venous thromboembolic events (VTE; all-grade, RR: 0.7, 95% CI 0.5-1.1; high-grade, RR: 0.7, 95% CI 0.4-1.2), high-grade bleeding (RR: 1.1, 95% CI 0.8-1.5), and high-grade gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding (RR: 1.1, 95% CI 0.7-1.7) did not demonstrate a definite increased risk with ramucirumab. A higher percentage of hypertension, proteinuria, low-grade (grade 1-2) bleeding, GI perforation, infusion-related reaction, and wound-healing complications were observed in the ramucirumab arm compared with the control arm. CONCLUSIONS Ramucirumab may be distinct among antiangiogenic agents in terms of ATE, VTE, high-grade bleeding, or high-grade GI bleeding by showing no clear evidence for an increased risk of these AEs in this meta-analysis of a large and diverse patient population. Ramucirumab is consistent with other angiogenic inhibitors in the risk of developing certain AEs. Abstract
In venous disease, acute thromboses and chronic venous insufficiency have the highest health economics relevance. Duplex sonography is the first line diagnostic assessment tool, while cross-sectional imaging is employed as a supplementary method. Due to the availability and examination times computed tomography is preferred in the emergency setting and is supplemented by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for specific questions. Endovascular treatment procedures are increasingly becoming available in addition to classical conservative treatment methods.

Abstract
Trachyspermum ammi L. commonly known as Ajwain is an annual herb belonging to the family Apiaceae. It is enormously grown in Egypt, Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and India as well as European region. Seeds of Ajwain were highly administered by traditional healers and usually employed for different ailments. Nanomaterials are known to have plant growth promoting effects, which could find applications in agriculture. In this study, the nanoparticles (NPs) showed the potential to enhance the primary metabolites when administered during germination. Therefore, nanoparticles elicitation can be used to increase the productivity, nutritional values and metabolite contents in Trachyspermum ammi L. This study aimed to provide new insight of the potential growth promoting effects of the nanoparticles () on plant system. Different concentrations of two nanoparticles, that is, iron pyrite (FeS2) and molybdenum disulphide (MoS2) at three different concentrations of 25ug/ml, 50ug/ml and 75ug/ml were tested on the seeds of Trachyspermum ammi L. The data indicated that nanoparticles enhanced the seedling growth as greener leafs and increased lengths of epicotyl and hypocotyls were seen. These nanoparticles also showed the potential to increase the contents of primary metabolites during germination and the total soluble protein content in seed was increased in nanoparticles-treated seeds as compared to control. The total protein profiling by SDS-PAGE indicated significant differences in number and molecular weights of protein bands upon exposure to nanoparticles.

Abstract
New results are reported from the operation of the PICO-60 dark matter detector, a bubble chamber filled with 52 kg of C_{3}F_{8} located in the SNOLAB underground laboratory. As in previous PICO bubble chambers, PICO-60 C_{3}F_{8} exhibits excellent electron recoil and alpha decay rejection, and the observed multiple-scattering neutron rate indicates a single-scatter neutron background of less than one event per month. A blind analysis of an efficiency-corrected 1167-kg day exposure at a 3.3-keV thermodynamic threshold reveals no single-scattering nuclear recoil candidates, consistent with the predicted background. These results set the most stringent direct-detection constraint to date on the weakly interacting massive particle (WIMP)-proton spin-dependent cross section at 3.4×10^{-41} cm^{2} for a 30-GeV c^{-2} WIMP, more than 1 order of magnitude improvement from previous PICO results.

Abstract
Background In syncope patients, presence of coronary artery disease (CAD) is associated with poor prognosis. However, data concerning CAD prevalence in syncope patients without known cardiovascular disease are lacking. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate presence and extent of CAD in syncope patients. Methods We included 142 consecutive patients presenting with syncope at the outpatient cardiology clinic who underwent coronary computed tomography (CT) angiography. Syncope type was ascertained by two reviewers, blinded for coronary CT angiography results. Of the patients, 49 had cardiac syncope (arrhythmia or structural cardiopulmonary disease) and 93 had non-cardiac syncope (reflex [neurally-mediated], orthostatic or of unknown cause). Cardiac syncope patients were compared with matched stable chest pain patients regarding age, gender, smoking status, diabetes mellitus type 2 and systolic blood pressure. Results Distribution of CAD presence and extent in cardiac and non-cardiac syncope patients was as follows: 72% versus 48% any CAD; 31% versus 26% mild, 8% versus 14% moderate and 33% versus 7% severe CAD. Compared with non-cardiac syncope, patients with cardiac syncope had a significantly higher CAD presence and extent (p = 0.001). Coronary calcium score, segment involvement and stenosis score were also higher in cardiac syncope patients (p-values ≤0.004). Compared to the chest pain control group, patients with cardiac syncope showed a higher, however, non-significant, prevalence of any CAD (72% versus 63%) and severe CAD (33% versus 19%). Conclusion Patients with cardiac syncope show a high presence and extent of CAD in contrast to non-cardiac syncope patients. These results suggest that CAD may play an important role in the occurrence of cardiac syncope.
