Abstract
Computed tomography (CT) is used less often than other techniques on neonatal units. However, in the acute setting, CT can be invaluable in diagnosing or excluding potentially life-threatening conditions and guiding initial management in neonates. Common indications for scanning include trauma, suspected non-accidental injury, infection, or an acute hypoxic or metabolic event. The aim of this review is to provide an overview of the normal neonatal head at CT and compare this to the common pathological abnormalities. Several key features of each condition will be highlighted. It is important to note that some pathological conditions can have overlapping features at CT and, therefore, the clinical history and additional investigations are also of key importance in determining the diagnosis.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Clostridium difficile infection (CDI) is a common cause of nosocomial antibiotic-associated diarrhea with an increased incidence reported in solid organ transplant recipients. We sought to determine if kidney and/or pancreas transplant recipients possess unique risk factors for CDI. METHODS Between January 2009 and February 2011, 942 kidney and 56 pancreas transplants were performed at the 2 centers. Of these, 28 recipients (kidney, n = 24; pancreas, n = 4) developed CDI. Cases were matched to controls (n = 56) in a 1:2 ratio. RESULTS Those with CDI were mostly male patients (82% vs. 48%, P = 0.003), deceased-donor organ recipients (86% vs. 64%, P = 0.045), more likely to have leukopenia (18% vs. 4%, P = 0.038), and had undergone a gastrointestinal procedure within 3 months preceding CDI diagnosis (18% vs. 4%, P = 0.038). Cases had higher cumulative and restricted antimicrobial exposure in days (37 ± 79 vs. 8 ± 12, P = 0.009 and 27 ± 69 vs. 7 ± 10, P = 0.032). Cephalosporin use was more common among cases (43% vs. 16%, P = 0.008). CONCLUSION Careful antimicrobial selection and assurance of optimal treatment duration in the kidney and pancreas transplant population is prudent. Clinicians should have a heightened awareness of CDI risk particularly during periods of leukopenia and in the setting of gastrointestinal procedures.

Abstract
We use extensive molecular dynamics simulations employing different state-of-the-art force fields to find a common framework for comparing structural orders and density anomalies as obtained from different water models. It is found that the average number of hydrogen bonds correlates well with various order parameters as well as the temperature of maximum densities across the different models, unifying apparently disparate results from different models and emphasizing the importance of hydrogen bonding in determining anomalous properties and the structure of water. A deeper insight into the hydrogen bond network of water reveals that the solvation shell of a water molecule can be defined by considering only those neighbors that are hydrogen-bonded to it. On the basis of this view, the origin of the appearance of a non-tetrahedral peak at a higher temperature in the distribution of tetrahedral order parameters has been explained. It is found that a neighbor that is hydrogen-bonded to the central molecule is tetrahedrally coordinated even at higher temperatures. The non-tetrahedral peak at a higher temperature arises due to the strained orientation of the neighbors that are non-hydrogen-bonded to the central molecule. With the new definition of the solvation shell, liquid water can be viewed as an instantaneously changing random hydrogen-bonded network consisting of differently coordinated hydrogen-bonded molecules with their distinct solvation shells. The variation of the composition of these hydrogen-bonded molecules against temperature accounts for the density anomaly without introducing the concept of large-scale structural polyamorphism in water.

Abstract
The FTIR and FT-Raman spectra of 1,2,4-benzenetricarboxylic-1,2-anhydride (BTCA) have been recorded in the range 4000-400 and 4000-100 cm(-1), respectively. The complete vibrational assignments and analysis of BTCA have been performed. More support on the experimental findings was added from the quantum chemical studies performed with DFT (B3LYP, MP2, B3PW91) method using 6-311++G(**), 6-31G(**) and cc-pVTZ basis sets. The structural parameters, energies, thermodynamic parameters, vibrational frequencies and the NBO charges of BTCA were determined by the DFT method. The (1)H and (13)C isotropic chemical shifts (δ ppm) of BTCA with respect to TMS were also calculated using the gauge independent atomic orbital (GIAO) method and compared with the experimental data. The delocalization energies of different types of interactions were determined.

Abstract
3-Acetylcoumarin (3AC) was synthesised by a Knoevenagel reaction. Conformational analysis using the B3LYP method was also carried out to determine the most stable conformation of the compound. FTIR and FT-Raman spectra of 3AC have been recorded in the range 4000-400 and 4000-100 cm(-1), respectively. (1)H and (13)C NMR spectra have also been recorded. The complete vibrational assignment and analysis of the fundamental modes of the compound were carried out using the experimental FTIR and FT-Raman data and quantum mechanical studies. The experimental vibrational frequencies were compared with the wavenumbers obtained theoretically from the DFT-B3LYP/B3PW91 gradient calculations employing the standard 6-31G(**), high level 6-311++G(**) and cc-pVTZ basis sets for optimised geometry of the compound. The frontier molecular orbital energies of the compound are determined by DFT method.

Abstract
The solid phase FTIR and FT-Raman spectra of primidone were recorded in the regions 4000-400 cm(-1) and 4000-100 cm(-1), respectively. The vibrational spectra were analysed and the observed fundamentals were assigned and analysed. The experimental wavenumbers were compared with the theoretical scaled vibrational wavenumbers determined by DFT methods. The Raman intensities were also determined with B3LYP/6-31G(d,p) method. The total electron density and molecular electrostatic potential surface of the molecule were constructed by using B3LYP/6-311++G(d,p) method to display electrostatic potential (electron+nuclei) distribution. The HOMO and LUMO energies were measured. Natural bond orbital analysis of primidone has been performed to indicate the presence of intramolecular charge transfer. The (1)H and (13)C NMR spectra were recorded and the chemical shifts of the molecule were calculated.

Abstract
Experimental and theoretical quantum chemical studies were carried out on 4-hydroxybenzohydrazide (4HBH) and 4-aminobenzohydrazide (4ABH) using FTIR and FT-Raman spectral data. The structural characteristics and vibrational spectroscopic analysis were carried performed by quantum chemical methods with the hybrid exchange-correlation functional B3LYP using 6-31G(**), 6-311++G(**) and aug-cc-pVDZ basis sets. The most stable conformer of the title compounds have been determined from the analysis of potential energy surface. The stable molecular geometries, electronic and thermodynamic parameters, IR intensities, harmonic vibrational frequencies, depolarisation ratio and Raman intensities have been computed. Molecular electrostatic potential and frontier molecular orbitals were constructed to understand the electronic properties. The potential energy distributions (PEDs) were calculated to explain the mixing of fundamental modes. The theoretical geometrical parameters and the fundamental frequencies were compared with the experimental. The interactions of hydroxy and amino group substitutions on the characteristic vibrations of the ring and hydrazide group have been analysed.

Abstract
The structural investigations of the molecular complex of melamine with maleic acid, namely melaminium maleate monohydrate have been carried out by quantum chemical methods in addition to FTIR, FT-Raman and far-infrared spectral studies. The quantum chemical studies were performed with DFT (B3LYP) method using 6-31G(**), cc-pVDZ and 6-311++G(**) basis sets to determine the energy, structural and thermodynamic parameters of melaminium maleate monohydrate. The hydrogen atom from maleic acid was transferred to the melamine molecule giving the singly protonated melaminium cation. The ability of ions to form spontaneous three-dimensional structure through weak OH···O and NH···O hydrogen bonds shows notable vibrational effects.

Abstract
Quantum chemical calculations of energy, structural parameters and vibrational wavenumbers of 4-bromoisoquinoline (4BIQ) were carried out by using B3LYP method using 6-311++G(**), cc-pVTZ and LANL2DZ basis sets. The optimised geometrical parameters obtained by DFT calculations are in good agreement with electron diffraction data. Interpretations of the experimental FTIR and FT-Raman spectra have been reported with the aid of the theoretical wavenumbers. The differences between the observed and scaled wavenumber values of most of the fundamentals are very small. The thermodynamic parameters have also been computed. Electronic properties of the molecule were discussed through the molecular electrostatic potential surface, HOMO-LUMO energy gap and NBO analysis. To provide precise assignments of (1)H and (13)CNMR spectra, isotropic shielding and chemical shifts were calculated with the Gauge-Invariant Atomic Orbital (GIAO) method.

Abstract
A detailed conformational, vibrational, NMR and DFT studies of N-methylacetanilide have been carried out. In DFT, B3LYP method have been used with 6-31G(**), 6-311++G(**) and cc-pVTZ basis sets. The vibrational frequencies were calculated resulting in IR and Raman frequencies together with intensities and Raman depolarisation ratios. The dipole moment derivatives were computed analytically. Owing to the complexity of the molecule, the potential energy distributions of the vibrational modes of the compound are also calculated. Isoelectronic molecular electrostatic potential surface (MEP) and electron density surface were examined. (1)H and (13)C NMR isotropic chemical shifts were calculated and the assignments made are compared with the experimental values. The energies of important MO's of the compound were also determined from TD-DFT method.

Abstract
Extensive vibrational investigations of 2-amino-4-methoxybenzothiazole have been carried out with FTIR and FT-Raman spectral techniques. The electronic structure of the molecule has been analysed by UV-Visible and NMR spectroscopies. The DFT studies were carried out with B3LYP and HF methods utilising 6-31G(d,p), 6-311++G(d,p) and cc-pVDZ basis sets to determine the structural, thermodynamical, vibrational, electronic characteristics of the compound and also to understand the electronic and steric influence of the methoxy amino groups on the skeletal frequencies. The mixing of the fundamental modes was determined with the help of total energy distribution (TED). The energies of the frontier molecular orbitals have also been determined. The kinetic and thermodynamic stability and chemical hardness of the molecule have been determined. Complete NBO analysis was also carried out to find out the intramolecular electronic interactions and their stabilisation energy. (1)H and (13)C NMR chemical shifts and the electronic transitions of the molecule are also discussed.

The complete vibrational assignment and analysis of the fundamental modes of the most stable geometry of the compounds were carried out using the experimental FTIR and FT-Raman data on the basis of peak positions, relative intensities and quantum chemical studies. The observed vibrational frequencies were compared with the theoretical wavenumbers of the optimised geometry of the compounds obtained from the DFT-B3LYP gradient calculations employing the standard 6-31G**, high level 6-311++G** and cc-pVDZ basis sets. The structural parameters and vibrational wavenumbers obtained from the DFT methods are in good agreement with the experimental data. With hope of providing more and effective information on the fundamental vibrations, total energy distributions of the fundamental modes have been performed by assuming C(s) point group symmetry. The effect of substituents -COCH(3), -CHO and -OH in the benzonitrile moiety have been analysed and compared. The kinetic and thermodynamic stability and chemical hardness of the molecule have been determined.

Abstract
The FTIR and FT-Raman spectra of 1,2-dimethyl-5-nitroimidazole and 2-methyl-5-nitroimidazole have been recorded in the regions 4000-400 and 4000-100 cm(-1), respectively. The conformational analyses were performed and the energies of the different possible conformers were determined. The geometry of different conformers of the compounds were optimised with B3LYP and B3PW91 methods using 6-311++G and aug-cc-pVTZ basis sets to characterise all stationary points as minima. The optimised structural parameters of the most stable conformer were used in the vibrational frequency calculations. The Raman activities were also determined with B3LYP method using 6-311++G basis sets. The force constants obtained from the B3LYP/6-311++G method have been utilised in the normal coordinate analysis. The temperature dependence of the thermodynamic properties heat capacity at constant pressure (C(p)), entropy (S) and enthalpy change (ΔH(0→T)) for both the compounds were also determined by B3LYP/6-311++G method. The total electron density and MESP surfaces of the molecules were constructed by NBO analysis using B3LYP/6-311++G method to display electrostatic potential (electron+nuclei) distribution, molecular shape, size, and dipole moments of the molecule. The electronic properties HOMO and LUMO energies were measured. The influences of nitro and methyl groups on the skeletal modes have been investigated.

Abstract
A 56-year-old man with diabetes, hypertension, and chronic kidney disease presented to the emergency room with a complaint of pain in his right foot. He was found to have tremors. Gabapentin toxicity was suspected and the patient was found to have high gabapentin level (6.3 mcg/ml). Patient was commenced on continuous venovenous hemodiafiltration (CVVHD) and the pharmacokinetics of gabapentin was studied. The patient improved symptomatically and his tremors subsided. In this case report, we describe the successful management of gabapentin toxicity with continuous renal replacement therapy and calculate the clearance of gabapentin which will enable future treatment of gabapentin toxicity by CVVHD.

The spectra were interpreted in terms of fundamentals modes, combination and overtone bands. The normal coordinate analysis was carried out to confirm the precision of the assignments. The structure of the conformers H bond inner and H bond outer1 were optimised and the structural characteristics were determined by density functional theory (DFT) using B3LYP and MP2 methods with 6-31G** and 6-311++G** basis sets. The vibrational frequencies were calculated in all these methods and were compared with the experimental frequencies which yield good agreement between observed and calculated frequencies. The electronic properties HOMO and LUMO energies were measured by time-dependent TD-DFT approach.

UV-Visible spectrum of the compound was recorded and the electronic properties HOMO and LUMO energies were measured by time-dependent TD-DFT approach. The influences of the nitro and hydroxy groups on the skeletal modes and on the proton chemical shifts have been investigated.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To report the use of trypan blue staining of the filtering bleb to assess its functional status in eyes undergoing phacoemulsification after trabeculectomy. SUBJECTS AND METHODS This retrospective study was conducted at a tertiary eye care centre in North India and studied 33 eyes of 33 patients ( with previously operated trabeculectomy), who underwent phacoemulsification. Trypan blue dye (0.06%) was used to stain the anterior capsule. After completion of phacoemulsification, the staining of the trabeculectomy bleb was noted as diffuse, patchy, minimal or no staining. RESULTS Of the 33 eyes, 13 had diffuse staining (39.4%, mean IOP = 9.3 ± 2.2 mm Hg), 7 (21.2%, mean IOP= 15.5 ± 1.8 mm Hg) had patchy staining, 4 had minimal staining (12.1%, mean IOP= 17.5 ± 0.5mm Hg) and nine (27.3%, mean IOP= 19.3 ± 1.6 mm Hg) had no staining. These staining patterns were labeled as groups 1 - 4 respectively. Statistical analysis showed that the difference between the IOPs in Group 1 - 2 and between Group 2 - 3 was not significant statistically (p=0.682 and 0.665 respectively). However the differences between the IOPs between Groups 1 - 3, 1 - 4, 2 - 4, and 3 - 4 were found to be highly significant statistically (p less than 0.0005). CONCLUSIONS Trypan blue dye can be used to test the amount of sub conjunctival filtration in eyes undergoing phacoemulsification cataract surgery.

Abstract
Experimental FTIR and FT-Raman spectroscopic analysis of 2-chloro-4-methyl-3-nitropyridine (2C4M3NP) and 2-chloro-6-methylpyridine (2C6MP) have been performed. A detailed quantum chemical calculations have been carried out using B3LYP and B3PW91 methods with 6-311++G** and cc-pVTZ basis sets. Conformation analysis was carried for 2C4M3NP and 2C6MP. The temperature dependence of thermodynamic properties has been analysed. The atomic charges, electronic exchange interaction and charge delocalisation of the molecule have been performed by natural bond orbital (NBO) analysis. Molecular electrostatic surface potential (MESP), total electron density distribution and frontier molecular orbitals (FMOs) are constructed at B3LYP/6-311++G** level to understand the electronic properties. The charge density distribution and site of chemical reactivity of the molecules have been obtained by mapping electron density isosurface with electrostatic potential surfaces (ESP). The electronic properties, HOMO and LUMO energies were measured by time-dependent TD-DFT approach.

The Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) and FT-Raman spectra of α,α'-diol-o-xylene (DOLOX), α,α'-diol-m-xylene (DOLMX) and α,α'-diol-p-xylene (DOLPX) of the configuration HOCH(2)-C(6)H(4)-CH(2)OH have been recorded in the range 4000-400 and 4000-100 cm(-1), respectively. The most stable geometry of the compounds was determined by conformational analysis. The complete vibrational assignment and analysis of the fundamental modes of the most stable conformer of the compounds were carried out using the experimental FTIR and FT-Raman data and quantum chemical studies. The observed vibrational frequencies were compared with the wavenumbers derived theoretically for the optimised geometry of the compounds from the DFT-B3LYP gradient calculations employing the standard 6-31G** and high level and 6-311++G** basis sets. The structural parameters and vibrational wavenumbers obtained from the DFT method are in good agreement with the experimental data. The potential energy distributions of the fundamental modes were also calculated by Wilson's FG matrix method. The effect of -CH(2)OH groups on the skeletal vibrations have been discussed. The intra molecular n→σ* and π→π* interactions were discussed with NBO analysis.

Abstract

Ab initio and DFT calculations have been performed and the structural parameters of the compound were determined from the optimised geometry with 6-31G(d,p), 6-311++G(d,p) and cc-pVDZ basis sets and giving energies, harmonic vibrational frequencies, depolarisation ratios, IR intensities and Raman activities. (1)H and (13)C NMR spectra were recorded and (1)H and (13)C nuclear magnetic resonance chemical shifts of the molecule were calculated using the gauge independent atomic orbital (GIAO) method. UV-visible spectrum of the compound was also recorded and the electronic properties, such as HOMO, LUMO and band gap energies were measured by time-dependent DFT (TD-DFT) approach. The geometric parameters, energies, harmonic vibrational frequencies, IR intensities, Raman activities chemical shifts and absorption wavelengths were compared with the available experimental data of the molecule. The influences of methyl and amino groups on the skeletal modes and on the proton chemical shifts have been investigated.

Abstract
N-(2,4-Dimethylphenyl)-2,2-dichloroacetamide (24DMPA) and N-(3,5-dimethylphenyl)-2,2-dichloroacetamide (35DMPA) of the configuration X(y)C(6)H(5-y)NHCO-CHCl(2) (where, X=CH(3) and y=2) were synthesised and an extensive spectroscopic investigations have been carried out. The ab initio and DFT studies were carried out with 6-31G** and cc-pVDZ basis sets to determine the structural, thermodynamical and vibrational characteristics of the compounds and also to understand the steric influence of methyl groups on the characteristic frequencies of amide (-CONH-) group. The most stable conformer has been determined by PES scan. Normal co-ordinate analysis has been carried out in an effort to provide mixing of the fundamental modes with the help of potential energy distribution (PED). The energies of the frontier molecular orbitals have been determined. Complete NBO analysis was also carried out to find out the intramolecular electronic interactions and their stabilisation energy. All the computed values are well agreed with the experimental data.

Abstract
Corticosteroid use after kidney transplantation results in severe bone loss and high fracture risk. Although corticosteroid withdrawal in the early posttransplant period has been associated with bone mass preservation, there are no published data regarding corticosteroid withdrawal and risk of fracture. We hypothesized lower fracture incidence in patients discharged from the hospital without than with corticosteroids after transplantation. From the United States Renal Data System (USRDS), 77, 430 patients were identified who received their first kidney transplant from 2000 to 2006. Fracture incidence leading to hospitalization was determined from 2000 to 2007; discharge immunosuppression was determined from United Networks for Organ Sharing forms. Time-to-event analyses were used to evaluate fracture risk. Median (interquartile range) follow-up was 1448 (808-2061) days. There were 2395 fractures during follow-up; fracture incidence rates were 0.008 and 0.0058 per patient-year for recipients discharged with and without corticosteroid, respectively. Corticosteroid withdrawal was associated with a 31% fracture risk reduction (HR 0.69; 95% CI 0.59-0.81). Fractures associated with hospitalization are significantly lower with regimens that withdraw corticosteroid. As this study likely underestimates overall fracture incidence, prospective studies are needed to determine differences in overall fracture risk in patients managed with and without corticosteroids after kidney transplantation.

Abstract
The current in vitro study was designed to investigate the anti-inflammatory, cytotoxic and antioxidant activities of boesenbergin A (BA), a chalcone derivative of known structure isolated from Boesenbergia rotunda. Human hepatocellular carcinoma (HepG2), colon adenocarcinoma (HT-29), non-small cell lung cancer (A549), prostate adenocarcinoma (PC3), and normal hepatic cells (WRL-68) were used to evaluate the cytotoxicity of BA using the MTT assay. The antioxidant activity of BA was assessed by the ORAC assay and compared to quercetin as a standard reference antioxidant. ORAC results are reported as the equivalent concentration of Trolox that produces the same level of antioxidant activity as the sample tested at 20 µg/mL. The toxic effect of BA on different cell types, reported as IC50, yielded 20.22 ± 3.15, 10.69 ± 2.64, 20.31 ± 1.34, 94.10 ± 1.19, and 9.324 ± 0.24 µg/mL for A549, PC3, HepG2, HT-29, and WRL-68, respectively. BA displayed considerable antioxidant activity, when the results of ORAC assay were reported as Trolox equivalents. BA (20 µg/mL) and quercetin (5 µg/mL) were equivalent to a Trolox concentration of 11.91 ± 0.23 and 160.32 ± 2.75 µM, respectively. Moreover, the anti-inflammatory activity of BA was significant at 12.5 to 50 µg/mL and without any significant cytotoxicity for the murine macrophage cell line RAW 264.7 at 50 µg/mL. The significant biological activities observed in this study indicated that BA may be one of the agents responsible for the reported biological activities of B. rotunda crude extract.

Abstract
While anatomic imaging (CT and MR imaging) of HNC is focused on diagnosing and/or characterizing the disease, defining its local extent, and evaluating distant spread, accurate assessment of the biologic status of the cancer (cellularity, growth rate, response to nonsurgical chemoradiation therapy, and so forth) can be invaluable for prognostication, planning therapy, and follow-up of lesions after therapy. The combination of anatomic and biologic imaging techniques can thus provide a more comprehensive evaluation of the patient. The purpose of this work was to review the present and future clinical applications of advanced biologic imaging techniques in HNC evaluation and management. As part of the biologic imaging array, we discuss MR spectroscopy, diffusion and perfusion MR imaging, CTP, and FDG-PET scanning and conclude with exciting developments that hold promise in assessment of tumor hypoxia and neoangiogenesis.

Abstract
Experimental FTIR, FT-Raman and FT-NMR spectroscopic studies of o-fluoronitrobenzene and p-fluoronitrobenzene have been carried out. A detailed quantum chemical calculations have been performed using DFT/B3LYP method with 6-311++G** and 6-31G** basis sets. Complete vibrational analyses of the compounds were performed. The temperature dependence of thermodynamic properties has been analysed. The atomic charges, electronic exchange interaction and charge delocalisation of the molecule have been performed by natural bond orbital (NBO) analysis. Molecular electrostatic surface potential (MESP), total electron density distribution and frontier molecular orbitals (FMOs) are constructed at B3LYP/6-311++G** level to understand the electronic properties. The charge density distribution and site of chemical reactivity of the molecules have been obtained by mapping electron density isosurface with electrostatic potential surfaces (ESP). The electronic properties, HOMO and LUMO energies were measured by time-dependent TD-DFT approach. (1)H and (13)C NMR spectra were recorded and (1)H and (13)C nuclear magnetic resonance chemical shifts of the molecule were calculated. The (1)H and (13)C nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) chemical shifts of the molecules in chloroform solvent and in gas phase were calculated by using the Gauge-Independent Atomic Orbital (GIAO) method and are found to be in good agreement with experimental values. The theoretical parameters obtained at B3LYP levels have been compared with the experimental values.

Abstract
Corticosteroid use after kidney transplantation results in severe bone loss and high fracture risk. Although corticosteroid withdrawal in the early posttransplant period has been associated with bone mass preservation, there are no published data regarding corticosteroid withdrawal and risk of fracture. We hypothesized lower fracture incidence in patients discharged from the hospital without than with corticosteroids after transplantation. From the United States Renal Data System (USRDS), 77, 430 patients were identified who received their first kidney transplant from 2000 to 2006. Fracture incidence leading to hospitalization was determined from 2000 to 2007; discharge immunosuppression was determined from United Networks for Organ Sharing forms. Time-to-event analyses were used to evaluate fracture risk. Median (interquartile range) follow-up was 1448 (808-2061) days. There were 2395 fractures during follow-up; fracture incidence rates were 0.008 and 0.0058 per patient-year for recipients discharged with and without corticosteroid, respectively. Corticosteroid withdrawal was associated with a 31% fracture risk reduction (HR 0.69; 95% CI 0.59-0.81). Fractures associated with hospitalization are significantly lower with regimens that withdraw corticosteroid. As this study likely underestimates overall fracture incidence, prospective studies are needed to determine differences in overall fracture risk in patients managed with and without corticosteroids after kidney transplantation.

Abstract
The energy, geometrical parameters and vibrational wavenumbers of crotonaldehyde were calculated by using ab initio and B3LYP with 6-31G(d,p) and 6-311G(d,p) basis sets. The FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra for liquid state crotonaldehyde have been recorded in the region 3400-400 cm(-1) and 3400-100 cm(-1), respectively and compared with the theoretical spectrographs constructed from the scaled harmonic vibrational frequencies calculated at HF and DFT levels. The difference between the observed and scaled wavenumber values of most of the fundamentals is very small. Detailed interpretations on vibrational modes have been made on the observed and theoretical spectra and PED for each mode was also reported more precisely. HOMO and LUMO energy levels are constructed and the corresponding theoretical frontier energy gaps are calculated to realise the charge transfer occurring in the molecule. The thermodynamic properties of the title compound have been calculated at different temperatures and the results reveals the standard heat capacities (C(0)(p)), standard entropies (S(0)) and standard enthalpy changes (ΔH(0)) increases with rise in temperature.

Abstract
FT-IR and FT-Raman (4000-100 cm(-1)) spectral measurements of 3-methyl-1,2-butadiene (3M12B) have been attempted in the present work. Ab-initio HF and DFT (LSDA/B3LYP/B3PW91) calculations have been performed giving energies, optimized structures, harmonic vibrational frequencies, IR intensities and Raman activities. Complete vibrational assignments on the observed spectra are made with vibrational frequencies obtained by HF and DFT (LSDA/B3LYP/B3PW91) at 6-31G(d,p) and 6-311G(d,p) basis sets. The results of the calculations have been used to simulate IR and Raman spectra for the molecule that showed good agreement with the observed spectra. The potential energy distribution (PED) corresponding to each of the observed frequencies are calculated which confirms the reliability and precision of the assignment and analysis of the vibrational fundamentals modes. The oscillation of vibrational frequencies of butadiene due to the couple of methyl group is also discussed. A study on the electronic properties such as HOMO and LUMO energies, were performed by time-dependent DFT (TD-DFT) approach. The calculated HOMO and LUMO energies show that charge transfer occurs within the molecule. The thermodynamic properties of the title compound at different temperatures reveal the correlations between standard heat capacities (C) standard entropies (S), and standard enthalpy changes (H).

Abstract
In the title compound, C11H9ClN4OS2, the thiadiazole and chlorophenyl rings are oriented at an angle of 43.1 (1)°. The sum of the bond angles around the amide N atom (359.8°) of the acetohydrazide group is in accordance with a model of sp2 hybridization. In the crystal, inversion dimers linked by pairs of N—H⋯O hydrogen bonds generate R22(8) loops. Weak C—H⋯π interactions also occur.

Abstract
The Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) and Fourier transform Raman (FT-Raman) spectra of 2,3-hexadiene have been recorded in the regions 3400-400 and 3400-100 cm(-1), respectively. A complete assignment and analysis of the fundamental vibrational modes of the molecule were carried out. The observed fundamental modes have been compared with the harmonic vibrational frequencies computed using HF and DFT (B3LYP, B3PW91) methods by employing 6-31G(d,p) and 6-311++G(d,p) basis sets. The scaled vibrational frequencies are found to coincide with the experimentally observed values. Theoretical infrared and Raman spectra at HF and DFT levels have been constructed and compared with the experimental spectra. A comparative study of computed optimised geometrical parameters, infrared and Raman intensities, thermodynamic values and frequencies obtained by different quantum mechanical methods were presented. Molecular electrostatic potential, total density distribution and frontier orbital energy levels are constructed to understand the electronic properties. The most stable geometry of the compound under investigation has been determined from the potential energy surface scan.

Abstract
The Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) and FT-Raman spectra of 5-chloro-2-hydroxybenzamide (5CBA) and 5-chloro-2-hydroxybenzoic acid (5C2HBA) have been recorded in the range 4000-400 and 4000-100 cm(-1), respectively. The complete vibrational fundamental modes of the compounds were assigned and analysed using the observed FTIR and FT-Raman data. The vibrational frequencies determined experimentally were compared with the theoretical wavenumbers calculated from ab initio HF and DFT-B3LYP gradient methods employing 6-31G** and 6-311++G** basis sets. The effect of halogen, hydroxyl groups and hydrogen bonding on the characteristic frequencies of the -COOH and -CONH2 group frequencies have been investigated. In 5CBA and 5C2HBA intramolecular hydrogen bond between a hydroxyl group and CO group makes a six membered ring, which causes the O⋯H interaction onto the resonance of the benzene ring. Comparison of the positions of the ν(OH) bands shows the ν(OH) band of 5CBA is located at considerably higher frequency which confirms a weaker hydrogen bond than in 5C2HBA.
