Abstract
Portal hypertension is the major cause of complications in decompensated liver cirrhosis. Research results showed that non-selective β-blockers, angiotensin receptor antagonists, and statins can improve portal hypertension by reducing portal vein blood flow and intrahepatic resistance, and have certain prevention and treatment effect on hemodynamic disorders and portal hypertensive complications in chronic liver diseases. Herein, we review the mechanism of action, clinical effects and limitations of these three types of drugs on portal hypertension of cirrhosis.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To monitor morphological feature and related osteogenic and bone metabolic change during healing of tibia fracture in a rat model. MATERIALS AND METHODS Tibia density and trabecular thickness were evaluated. Histopathology was examined by HE staining. Serous inflammatory factors IL-4, IL-6, TNF-α and metabolic biomarkers ALP, β-CTX, P1NP, were determined by ELISA. The expression of RUNX2, TGF-β1, VEGF-α, BMP-2, BMP-4, and BMP-7 in callus tissue were qualified by RT-PCR. RESULTS Bone density decreased until week 4 and then increased post-operation. Trabeculae in callus were thickened over time with active osteogenesis. ELISA indicated the most severe inflammation at week 2, with the highest level of TNF-α, IL-6, and the lowest level of IL-4. After 4 weeks, the inflammation was alleviated accompanying with the decline of TNF-α and IL-6, while there was the elevation of IL-4. Bone metabolism showed active osteogenesis and resorption at week 6 with high P1NP and β-CTX. The expression of RUNX2, TGF-β1, VEGF-α, BMP-2, BMP-4, and BMP-7 increased progressively from week 1 to 6. The major lesions at week 2 in sham were tissue necrosis, periosteal reactive hyperplasia, inflammatory cell infiltration, capillary hyperplasia and slight fibro-blast cytopoiesis. At week 4, proliferation was greatly activated, fibrous callus shaped and chondrogenesis and some osteogenesis occurred at week 8. CONCLUSIONS In rat model, bone density started to increase at week 6 after fracture, accompanied with trabeculae thickening, serous inflammatory factors decline, and peaked bone morphogenetic protein/growth factors, which indicated active osteogenesis was conforming to the classical phase of secondary fracture healing.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE We aimed to evaluate the effects of fulvestrant on the glycolysis of prolactinoma GH3 cells, and reveal the potential regulatory mechanisms. MATERIALS AND METHODS Prolactinoma cell line GH3 was treated with different concentrations of fulvestrant (0, 0.12, 0.25, 0.5 and 1 ng/ml) for 4 h. siRNAs XBP1s and XBP1u were constructed to treat GH3 cells. The expression levels of XBP1s, XBP1u, IRE1, PKM2 and GRP78 of GH3 cells were detected by Western blot. Meanwhile, the glycolytic activity of GH3 cells, including the glucose uptake, ATP/ADP, and lactate production were detected. RESULTS The expression levels of XBP1s and XBP1u were significantly inhibited by fulvestrant in a dose-dependent manner. The glucose uptake, ATP/ADP and lactate production of GH3 cells were significantly inhibited by fulvestrant as well as siRNA XBP1s and XBP1u (p < 0.05). Western blot analysis suggested that the expression levels of IRE1, PKM2 and GRP78 were significantly decreased in GH3 cells treated by fulvestrant as well as siRNA XBP1s and XBP1u, compared with those in normal control (p < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS Fulvestrant could inhibit the glycolysis of GH3 cells by downregulating IRE1/XBP1 signaling pathway, and this process was closely related with the downregulation of PKM2.

Abstract
Objective:To investigate the clinical characteristics, imaging features and treatment of neurogenic tumor in chilehood and to improve the experience in diagnosis and treatment for the disease. Method:The twenty-nine inpatients of histopathologically proven neurogenic tumor from January 2015 to December 2018 were retrospectively analyzed. The pathological types, clinical characteristics, imaging findings, and management were analyzed. Result: There were five cases of schwannoma aged from 9 years to 14 years, five cases of neurofibroma aged from 9 months to 9 years, and nineteen cases of neuroblastic tumor aged from 3 months to 5 years in our series. The chief manifestations were soft tissue masses, snore, and Honer syndrome. As the tumors had different components pathologically, on scans they presented as masses with heterogeneous density. Schwannoma showed as oval masses with clear margins, with the characteristic of"tail sign". The imaging findings of neurofibromas showed unclear boundaries and plexiform neurofibromas showed multiple clumps with visible separation. The ultrasonography of neuroblastic tumor was characterized by hypoechoic, heterogeneous and spotty calcification. All the cases underwent surgical resections. In 5 cases of schwannoma, it was confirmed that the tumors originated from the vagus nerve during the operation, which could be completely removed without postoperative complications. Two cases of neurofibromas were completely resected, 2 cases were only partially resected, and 1 case which located at the entrance of the esophagus was resected under supportive laryngoscopic for three times. Thirteen of 19 children with neuroblastogenic tumors underwent resection in our department after chemotherapy, and 2 patients with postoperative recurrence underwent another operation. Conclusion:Neuroblastoma is the most common neurogenic tumor in the head and neck of children. Most neurogenic tumors have their corresponding characteristics on imaging and should be differentiated. Schwannoma has clear boundary and intact capsule, so it is easier to complete resection. The neurofibroma is commonly difficult to remove with safety margin because of its unclear boundaries. Neuroblastoma should be treated according to the lesion range and stage. Most of the lesions are difficult to remove completely due to the wide range, peripheral blood vessels and important nerves. So preoperative chemotherapy is generally required.

Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed in 96 children with GBS meningitis (46 males and 50 females) at Beijing Children's Hospital Affiliated to Capital Medical University from January 2013 to October 2017. The clinical characteristics, prognosis and drug resistance were reviewed and analyzed. According to the onset time, the patients were divided into early onset disease (EOD, 0-6 days), late onset disease (LOD, 7-89 days) and very late onset disease (VLOD, 90 days-16 years), the clinical features were compared. According to the results of cranial imaging examination, the patients were divided into two groups: those with neurological complications and those without neurological complications. The influencing factors of neurological complications were analyzed. According to the outcome of 28 days after discharge, patients were divided into death group and survival group. The risk factors of mortality were analyzed by multivariate Logistic regression analysis. Non-numeric variables were analyzed with χ(2) test or Fisher's exact test. Numeric variable between groups were compared with nonparametric test. Results: A total of 96 patients were enrolled, including 18 (19%) EOD, 71 (74%) LOD and 7 (7%) VLOD cases. The median age of EOD cases was 2 days, with a range from 0 to 6 days. The median age of LOD cases was 31 days, with a range from 7 to 81 days. The median age of VLOD cases was 153 days, with a range from 95 to 214 days. Before the onset of the disease, the mother had mastitis in 6 cases and premature rupture of membranes in 6 cases. The common clinical manifestations of patients were fever (95%, 91/96), anorexia (65%, 62/96), seizure (56%, 54/96), and consciousness changes (36%, 35/96). The differences were statistically significant in gender (13/18 vs. 28/71 vs. 5/7, χ(2)=7.705, P=0.024), the number of cases who was admitted to intensive care unit (ICU) (5/18 vs. 31/71 vs. 0, χ(2)=6.065, P=0.042) and peripheral blood leukocyte (12(4, 18)×10(9)/L vs. 6(3, 11)×10(9)/L vs. 13(6, 17)×10(9)/L, H=9.885, P=0.007) in EOD group, LOD group and VLOD group. Cranial imaging was performed in 94 patients, 60 patients (64%) developed neurological complications, including subdural effusion (31/94, 33%), followed by intracranial hemorrhage (26/94, 28%), cerebral softening (19/94, 20%), cerebral atrophy (15/94, 16%), ependinitis (8/94, 9%) and hydrocephalus (4/94, 4%). By univariate χ(2) test analysis, seizure (63% (38/60) vs.41% (14/34), χ(2)=4.310, P=0.038) was a risk factor of neurological complications. Within 28 days after discharge, 88 patients survived and 8 patients died, with a fatality rate of 8%. The independent risk factors for the death were septic shock (OR: 9.548, 95% CI 1.439-63.356, P=0.019) and respiratory failure (OR: 7.053, 95% CI 1.160-42.888, P=0.034). Abstract
Objective: To investigate the relationship between the previous cesarean scar thickness, previous cesarean scar defect and the occurrence of uterine rupture for pregnancy women after previous cesarean section and to predict the occurrence of uterine rupture in the third trimester for pregnancy women after previous cesarean section by analyzing the lower uterine segment (LUS) situation or quantitatively measure LUS myometrium thickness. Methods: A total of 154 pregnant women who have a prior cesarean from January 2015 to March 2016 were selected, all of them regularly did the prenatal examination in the pregnancy period and finally gave birth in hospital. By the transvaginal sonograph, the LUS myometrium thickness (transverse and longitudinal thickness) and the size of the previous cesarean scar defect were measured in the first trimester, the LUS myometrium thickness (longitudinal thickness) and qualitatively analysis LUS condition were measured in the third trimester. They were divided into two groups according to the pregnancy outcome: uterine rupture group (found in the cesarean operation or during the pregnancy) and without uterine rupture group (including the vaginal delivery women and those without uterine rupture in the cesarean operation period). The sensitivity and specificity of LUS myometrium thickness in the first trimester and the qualitative analysis LUS situation, the quantitative measurement of LUS myometrium thickness in the third trimester were compared in the prediction of occurrence of uterine rupture (dehiscence or complete rupture). Results: The group without uterine rupture included 134 women (6 vaginal delivery and 128 cesarean delivery), and the group with uterine rupture included 20 women (all of them cesarean delivery). The LUS myometrium thickness in the third trimester in the group without uterine rupture was (1.6±0.5) mm, and was (1.1±0.7) mm in the uterine rupture group (P= 0.004). There were no significant difference between two groups in the mean value of age, height, weight, the interdelivery interval, the LUS myometrium thickness (transverse and longitudinal thickness) in the first trimester. Qualitative analysis of LUS condition had higher specificity (99%), higher positive predictive value (92%), higher negative predictive value (94%) and slightly lower sensitivity (60%) than quantitative measure of LUS myometrium thickness in predicting uterine rupture. Conclusions: Measurement of the LUS myometrium thickness in the first trimester is helpful for predicting the occurrence of uterine rupture, so it is not necessary to terminate the pregnancy because of the thin LUS or the little prior cesarean scar defect in the first trimester. However it should be paid close attention to the LUS situation during the whole gestation. Qualitatively analyzing LUS situation is more meaningful than quantitatively measuring LUS myometrium thickness in predicting the uterine rupture in the third trimester.

Abstract
The magnetochiral effect (MCE) of phonons, a nonreciprocal acoustic propagation arising due to symmetry principles, is demonstrated in the chiral-lattice ferrimagnet Cu_{2}OSeO_{3}. Our high-resolution ultrasound experiments reveal that the sound velocity differs for parallel and antiparallel propagation with respect to the external magnetic field. The sign of the nonreciprocity depends on the chirality of the crystal in accordance with the selection rule of the MCE. The nonreciprocity is enhanced below the magnetic ordering temperature and at higher ultrasound frequencies, which is quantitatively explained by a proposed magnon-phonon hybridization mechanism.

Abstract
The aim of present study was to investigate the effect of different times (5 min (UCPP-5), 10 min (UCPP-10), 20 min (UCPP-20), and 30 min (UCPP-30)) of ultrasound treatment on physicochemical, thermal, and antioxidant properties of chicken plasma protein (CPP). UCPP-20 had the highest fluorescence intensity and the lowest particle size. However, no major changes in the subunit compositions and the secondary structure of UCPPs were presented in SDS-PAGE and circular dichroism. The surface hydrophobicity and sulfhydryl content of UCPPs increased significantly (P < 0.05) as compared to those of CPP. With the increasing time of ultrasound treatment, there were more and deeper holes on the protein surfaces. Furthermore, protein modification by ultrasound could improve the thermal properties of UCPPs. Additionally, UCPPs showed a significant increase in antioxidant properties over CPP, especially UCPP-20. These observations indicated that ultrasound treatment was necessary for modification of CPP to meet the requirements for food processing.

Abstract
Heat shock proteins (HSPs) participate in diverse physiological processes in insects, and HSP70 is one of the most highly conserved proteins in the HSP family. In this study, full-length cDNAs of three HSP70 genes (Lthsc70, Lthsp701, and Lthsp702) were cloned and characterized from Liriomyza trifolii, an important invasive pest of vegetable crops and horticultural crops worldwide. These three HSP70s exhibited signature sequences and motifs that are typical of the HSP70 family. The expression patterns of the three Lthsp70s during temperature stress and in different insect development stages were studied by real-time quantitative PCR. Lthsp701 was strongly induced by high- and low-temperature stress, but Lthsc70 and Lthsp702 were not very sensitive to temperature changes. All three Lthsp70s were expressed during insect development stages, but the expression patterns were quite different. The expression of Lthsc70 and Lthsp702 showed significant differences in expression during leafminer development; Lthsc70 was most highly expressed in female adults, whereas Lthsp702 was abundantly expressed in larvae and prepupae. Lthsp701 expression was not significantly different among leafminer stages. These results suggest that functional differentiation within the LtHSP70 subfamily has occurred in response to thermal stress and insect development.

Abstract
This study investigated the protein changes in goat milk during the homogenization process using label-free quantification. We quantified 310 and 315 proteins in the control group (CG) and homogenized group (HG), respectively, and 16 proteins were significantly different between the 2 groups. For HG, the goat milk protein particle sizes were smaller and more evenly distributed and exhibited an increase in the regular arrangement of the secondary structures. Proteomics analysis verified that xanthine dehydrogenase and asparaginase-like 1 expression in CG were higher than in HG, whereas the opposite was observed for fructose-bisphosphate aldolase, κ-casein, and β-casein. Significant changes were found in the homogenization-treated goat milk proteome that were related to goat milk glycolysis/gluconeogenesis metabolism. This work provides updated information on the current proteome characteristics of homogenized goat milk, which may be important for applying the protein component of goat milk to human nutrition and health.

Abstract
Objective: To assess the prevalence of HIV infection and related factors in men who have sex with men (MSM) living for ≤5 years in Wenzhou of Zhejiang province. Methods: MSM who were aged ≥16 years, had lived in Wenzhou for ≥3 months and had anal sex and/or oral sex with men in the last 12 months were recruited through respondent-driven sampling (RDS) from February to October in 2015. The MSM recruited completed a questionnaire for the information collection on socio-demographic characteristics, sexual behavior, awareness of HIV and related intervention, mental health status. Blood samples were collected from them for serological detection of HIV and syphilis antibodies. Software SPSS 18.0 was used to analyze HIV infection and related factors. Results: A total of 454 MSM were investigated, 108 of them (23.7%) were HIV positive. There were 267 MSM who lived in Wenzhou for ≤5 years, and 73 of them (27.3%) were HIV positive. Most of them were workers and commercial servants aged ≥25 years with personal monthly income <4 000 yuan and educational level of junior high school or below. According to multiple logistics regression analysis, age of 25-68 years old (OR=12.19, 95%CI: 2.29-65.02), heterosexual behavior in recent 6 months (OR=0.42, 95%CI: 0.18-0.96), believing it was possible to be infected with HIV (OR=0.06, 95%CI: 0.01-0.95), believing it was impossible to be infected with HIV (OR=0.03, 95%CI: 0.01-0.35) and syphilis status (OR=3.32, 95%CI: 1.05-10.52) were the risk factors associated with HIV infection. Conclusion: Compared with MSM who lived in Wenzhou for >5 years, MSM who lived in Wenzhou for ≤5 years had higher HIV infection rate and higher prevalence of risk behavior. It is necessary to conduct targeted intervention among them.

Abstract
The aberrant expression of microRNA-375 (miR-375) has been proved to be associated with carcinogenesis. However, the role of miR-375 in glioblastoma (GBM) remains unknown. The aim of this study was to investigate biological functions and its molecular mechanisms of miR-375 in GBM cells. In this study, real-time PCR results showed that the level of miR-375 expression in GBM tissues and GBM cell lines (U87 and U251) was decreased. Using MTT assay, Transwell migration and invasion assay, we demonstrated that miR-375 overexpression significantly suppress cell proliferation, cell migration and cell invasion capacity in U87 and U251 cells. However, downregulation of miR-375 had reverse effects on cell proliferation, migration and invasion. Targeting association analysis, dual luciferase assay, RT-PCR and western blot analysis results confirmed that miR-375 could target the 3'UTR of Wnt5a mRNA and regulated its protein expression. Further studies also find overexpression of Wnt5a could significantly reverse miR-375-mediated proliferation, migration and invasion on U87 and U251 cells. Therefore, we concluded that miR-375 inhibited the proliferation and invasion of GBM by regulating Wnt5a and might be a possible therapeutic agent for GBM.

Abstract
Bacterial fruit blotch (BFB) of cucurbits, caused by Acidovorax citrulli, is a major threat to commercial watermelon and melon production worldwide. At present, there are at least two genetically distinct sub-populations (group I and II) of A. citrulli that differ in host preference among cucurbit species and copper sensitivity. In this study, we analyzed the pilA gene sequences of 103 A. citrulli strains from China and other countries. Based on these data, we classified all tested A. citrulli strains into three types. The pilA-based type 1 strains in this study coincided with the previously established group I strains; while the type 2 strains coincided with group II strains. Ten strains that did not cluster with group I or II strains were classified into a new type, designated type 3. Based on differences in pilA sequences, we designed a multiplex PCR assay to distinguish the three A. citrulli pilus types. This multiplex PCR assay has proven to be viable for strain typing of 139 A. citrulli strains and for the detection of this pathogen in artificially inoculated seeds and leaves and naturally infected leaves and fruits. This assay proved to be rapid, accurate, reliable and applicable for early distinction of A. citrulli types associated with BFB epidemics. It may also inform the judicious and environmentally sound use of bactericides, especially copper-based compounds.

Abstract
Objective: To improve the clinical recognition of eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis(EGPA) in clinical manifestations, diagnosis and treatment. Methods: The clinical manifestations, pathological characteristic, imaging manifestations, diagnosis and the therapy of three patients with EGPA were presented. Results: These 3 patients had asthma-like symptoms and extrapulmonary manifestations of systemic vasculitis. They were 20, 40 and 44 years old. All of them were female. They denied exposure or contact. Chest radiographic examination showed that the most common features were nodule shadow and tree-in-bud in the lung. The pathological manifestation was characterized by hypereosinophilia, high total IgE(over 300 KU/L) and high CRP(over 14.1mg/L). The FeNO of 2 patients was over 100ppb. The ANCA of these 3 patients was negative. The pulmonary pathology was observed had eosinophil infiltration in the alveolar, interstitial and vessel for 3 cases. The clinical manifestations were nonspecific. All patients were treated by glucocorticoid and immune-inhibitor(alkylating agents or purine synthesis inhibitors) therapy. Because patients were complicated with other organs involved, they needed long-time treatment. Conclusions: This disease is diverse and complex, with a lack of pathognomonic symptoms. We should highly suspect eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis, when the patients present severe asthma and eosinophilia. Early detection, early treatment, and the prognosis could be better.

Identification and tissue expression profiling of candidate UDP-glycosyltransferase genes expressed in Holotrichia parallela motschulsky antennae. Abstract
It is difficult to control Holotrichia parallela Motschulsky with chemical insecticides due to the larvae's soil-living habit, thus the pest has caused great economic losses in agriculture. In addition, uridine diphosphate-glycosyltransferases (UGTs) catalyze the glycosylation process of a variety of small lipophilic molecules with sugars to produce water-soluble glycosides, and play multiple roles in detoxification, endobiotic modulation, and sequestration in an insect. Some UGTs were found specifically expressed in antennae of Drosophila melanogaster and Spodoptera littoralis, and glucurono-conjugated odorants could not elicit any olfactory signals, suggesting that the UGTs may play roles in odorant inactivation by biotransformation. In the current study, we performed a genome-wide analysis of the candidate UGT family in the dark black chafer, H. parallela. Based on a UGT gene signature and the similarity of these genes to UGT homologs from other organisms, 20 putative H. parallela UGT genes were identified. Bioinformatics analysis was used to predict sequence and structural features of H. parallela UGT proteins, and revealed important domains and residues involved in sugar donor binding and catalysis by comparison with human UGT2B7. Phylogenetic analysis of these 20 UGT protein sequences revealed eight major groups, including both order-specific and conserved groups, which are common to more than one order. Of these 20 UGT genes, HparUGT1265-1, HparUGT3119, and HparUGT8312 were highly (>100-fold change) expressed in antennae, suggesting a possible role in olfactory tissue, and most likely in odorant inactivation and olfactory processing. The remaining UGT genes were expressed in all tissues (head, thorax, abdomen, leg, and wing), indicating that these UGTs likely have different biological functions. This study provides the fundamental basis for determining the function of UGTs in a highly specialized olfactory organ, the H. parallela antenna.

Abstract
Objective: To observe the clinical course of children with juvenile-onset recurrent respiratory papillomatosis (JORRP) until 14 years old. Methods: The clinical data of one hundred and twenty cases treated between Januray 1, 2002 and September 30, 2017 in Beijing Tongren Hospital were analyzed retrospectively. Excluding the deaths and the lost, patients who could be ≥ 5 years without recurrence, were defined as the cured group, and < 5 years with recurrence defined as the recurrent group. Furthermore, using statistical methods to analyze the differences of the age of initial operation, total number of operations, invasive lesion, HPV infection, tracheotomy, airway dissemination after tracheotomy and time of tube wear between the two groups. Results: One hundred and three cases were followed up, except for the six deaths.Numbers of operations in eight cases were ≤2, and ≥3 in eighty nine cases.Peak of the primary surgical age were about 4.5 years old, while the self-healing trend occurred at nine years old. In the cured group, forty three cases were cured, with a curative rate of 41.7% (43/103), and there were all fifty four survivors in the recurrent group. The total number of operations, invasive cases, HPV positive cases and the G score of hoarseness in the recurrent group were higher than those in the cured group (F=13.02, χ(2)=13.04, χ(2)=17.37, Z=-4.59, P<0.05). The number of tracheal dissemination caused by tracheotomy in the recurrent group (66.7%, 27.8%)was more than that in the cured group (χ(2)=16.01, P<0.05). Compared with the time of wearing a tracheostomy tube in cured group, the recurrent group was longer ((3.4±3.1) years vs (8.3±6.7) years, χ(2)=7.19, P<0.05). Conclusions: 41.7% of the patients had no relapse for at least five years. There exsisted differences between the cured and recurrent group in the following aspects: the total numbers of surgery, the agression of the lesions, tracheal intratracheal dissemination after tracheotomy, the time of tracheotomy, the HPV typing and the G grading of hoarseness.

Abstract
Objective: To compare the efficacy and safety of anatomic hepatectomy and non-anatomic hepatectomy in the treatment of single small Hepatocellular carcinoma with MVI. Methods: The clinical data of 84 patients with single small Hepatocellular carcinoma with MVI in Beijing Chaoyang Hospital between January 2008 and December 2013 were retrospectively analyzed. Patients undergoing anatomical hepatectomy were enrolled in the AR group, and the patients undergoing non-anatomic hepatectomy were enrolled in the NR group. The efficacy and survival rate of the two groups were compared. Results: (1) Operation time, numbers of patients with volume of intraoperative blood loss ≥300 ml and number of patients with blood transfusion were (170±41)minutes, 8, 7 in the AR group and (148±35)minutes, 19, 18 in the NR group, respectively, with statistically significant differences between the 2 groups (P<0.05). (2) The 1-year, 2-year and 3-year overall survival rate were 85.7%, 68.6%, 57.1% in the AR group and 79.6%, 53.1%, 42.9% in the NR group, respectively. The 1-year, 2-year and 3-year progression-free survival rate were 80.0%, 62.9%, 51.4% in the AR group and 71.4%, 49.0%, 38.8%, in the NR group, respectively. There were statistically significant differences between the 2 groups both in the overall survival rate and the progression-free survival rate (P<0.05). (3) Prognostic factors analysis of HCC patients with MVI: result of univariate analysis showed that maximum diameter of tumor and surgical procedures were relative factors affecting overall survival and progression-free survival of HCC patients with MVI, AFP level was relative factors affecting progression-free survival of HCC patients with MVI, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). Result of multivariate analysis showed that maximum diameter of tumor between 3.0 and 5.0 cm and non-anatomic liver resection were independent factors affecting poor overall survival and progression-free survival of HCC patients with MVI, and AFP≥20 μg/L and total bilirubin ≥20 μmol/L were independent factors affecting poor progression-free survival of HCC patients with MVI, with a statistically significant differences (P< 0.05). Conclusion: Anatomic hepatectomy for patients with single small hepatocellular carcinoma with microvascular invasion has better clinical efficacy and safety.

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the clinicopathological characteristics of foot and ankle soft tissue and bone tumor, and to analyze the prognosis and the related factors of malignant tumors in this site. Methods: 74 patients with soft tissue and bone tumors of foot and ankle from January 2006 to February 2017 were retrospectively analyzed. The clinicopathological characteristics, the treatment and survival status of malignant tumors were followed up, and the clinical and therapeutic factors related to prognosis were analyzed. Results: Of the 74 patients, 34 were males and 40 were females. The male to female ratio was 1∶1.18; the age ranged from 12 to 64 years and the median age was 42 years. Tumors located in forefoot of 22 cases, 22 in midfoot, 10 in hind foot, 14 in ankle joint and 6 in multiple sites. 14 cases were bone tumors, including 7 benign and 7 malignant, and 60 cases were soft tissue tumors, including 14 benign and 46 malignant. The most common malignant soft tissue tumors were synovial sarcomas (13 cases), and the most common benign soft tissue tumors were hemangiomas (4 cases). 44 cases of malignant tumors underwent surgery were followed up, of which were 7 bone and 37 soft tissue malignant tumors. Limb salvage surgeries were performed in 33 cases and amputation in 11 cases. The median follow-up time was 69.8 months, and the median survival time was 40.7 months. The 1-year, 3-year and 5-year survival rate of soft tissue malignant tumors was 88.0%, 73.0%, and 63.0%, respectively. The 1-year, 3-year and 5-year survival rate of bone malignant tumors was 86.0%, 57.0% and 57.0%, respectively. Univariate analysis showed that the prognostic factors affecting 5-year survival rate were tumor size and adjuvant therapy (P<0.05). Patient's gender, age, tumor location, histological type and surgical procedure had no effect on overall survival(P>0.05). Multivariate analysis showed that tumor size was an independent prognostic factor (RR=7.262, P=0.005). Conclusions: Forefoot and midfoot are more common in foot and ankle soft tissue and bone tumors. Synovial sarcoma is the most common diagnosis in malignant soft tissue tumors, and hemangioma is the most common diagnosis in benign soft tissue tumors. The prognostic factor of malignant soft tissue and bone tumors in foot and ankle is tumor size. Patients with the tumor size of 5 cm or more have a worse prognosis.

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the association of the ultrasonographic optic nerve sheath diameter (ONSD) and intracranial pressure (ICP), and the feasibility of ultrasonographic ONSD in predicting high ICP. Methods: A prospective study. The outpatients who planned to measure ICP by lumbar puncture in Department of Neurology, Xuanwu Hospital, Capital Medical University were selected from January 2011 to May 2012. All the retrobulbar ONSD measurement with B-scan ultrasound was performed just before lumbar puncture. When high ICP was defined as ICP more than 200 mmH2O(1 mmH2O=0.009 8 kPa), the participants were divided into the high ICP group and the normal ICP group. The Pearson correlation coefficient analysis was used to analyze the correlation between ICP and postbulbar ONSD measurements. The difference in ONSD was compared between the high ICP and normal ICP groups with the t test. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was used to calculate the cutoff value of mean ONSD and evaluate the sensitivity and specificity of the method. Results: A total of 130 participants were involved in this study. There were 71 males and 59 females, aged (38±14) years. The mean ICP was (209.84±79.99) mmH2O. The mean ONSD was (5.68±0.78) mm in the right eyes, (5.78±0.78) mm in the left eyes, and (5.73±0.71) mm in both eyes. The ICP had a significant correlation with ONSD in the right eyes (r=0.54, P<0.001), ONSD in the left eyes (r=0.56, P<0.001) and ONSD in both eyes (r=0.60, P<0.001), but no correlation with age (r=-0.14, P=0.114) and gender (r=0.20, P=0.817). The ONSD in the high ICP group (n=65) was (6.11±0.66) mm, (6.22±0.56) mm and (6.17±0.50) mm in the right eyes, left eyes, and both eyes, respectively. Compared with the ONSD in the normal ICP group (n=65), which was (5.26±0.64) mm in the right eyes, (5.34±0.72) mm in the left eyes and (5.30±0.62) mm in both eyes, there was a significantly enlarged ONSD in the high ICP group (t=-7.507, -7.778, -8.779, all P<0.001). The ROC analysis showed the ONSD of 5.6 mm was the best cutoff value with a sensitivity of 86% and a specificity of 71% for identifying high ICP. Conclusions: There is a significantly positive correlation between ICP and postbulbar ONSD measured by ultrasound. This non-invasive method may be an alternative approach to predicting the ICP value of patients whose ICP measurement via lumbar puncture is at high risk. However, it can not replace the direct ICP measurement with the invasive method. (Chin J Ophthalmol, 2018, 54: 683-687).

Abstract
Objective: To improve the accuracy of diagnosis and to reduce the misdiagnosis rate of nasopharyngeal carcinoma by analyzing the characteristics of such masses. Methods: Clinical data from 55 patients with suspicion of nasopharyngeal carcinoma diagnosed and treated between March 2016 and September 2017 were analyzed. All patients were followed up regularly. Results: With following-up of 12 to 25 months, 6 (10.9%) of 55 cases were identified as nasopharyngeal malignant tumors, including 4 cases of nasopharyngeal carcinoma and 2 cases of lymphoma, and 49 cases (89.1%) were diagnosed with nasopharyngeal benign masses, including 29 (59.2%) cases for nasopharyngeal lymphoid proliferation, 15 (30.6%) for adenoid hypertrophy, 2 (4.1%) for nasopharyngeal cyst, 1 (2.0%) for polyp, 1 for papilloma and 1 for nasopharyngeal pharyngeal cyst. Small nasopharyngeal malignant tumor and masses with benign hyperplasia showed the overlap of images on the enhanced MRI/CT and Fibro-nasopharyngoscopy, but all 6 patients with nasopharyngeal malignant tumors presented with moderately enhanced multiple enlarged lymph nodes. Conclusions: Fibro-nasopharyngoscopy and enhanced MRI/CT have some value on evaluation of nasopharyngeal masses, but biopsy is a golden standard for diagnosis. Follow-up is necessary for the patients with negative biopsy and benign nasopharyngeal hyperplasia indicated by fibro-nasopharyngoscopy and enhanced MRI/CT.
