Abstract
As high-quality substitutes for conventional catalysts, the bifunctional catalytic properties of the coating of transition-metal-based materials are pivotal for improving water-splitting efficiency. Herein, cobalt-molybdenum bimetallic phosphide nanofibers (CoMoP NFs) were synthesized via a series of facile strategies, which are divided into pyrolysis electrospun PAN and metal salts, to obtain one-dimensional morphology and a gas-solid phosphating precursor. The obtained CoMoP NFs catalyst has superior catalytic activity performance in 1M KOH. Serving as an oxygen evolution reaction (OER) catalyst, the electrode of the CoMoP NFs affords different kinds of current densities at 50 mA cm-2 and 100 mA cm-2, with low overpotentials of 362 and 391 mV, respectively. In addition, the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) performance of the CoMoP NFs mainly shows when under a low overpotential of 126 mV, which can deliver a current density of 10 mA cm-2. In order to further detect the stability of the catalyst, we used multiple cyclic voltammetry and chronopotentiometry tests for OERs and HERs, which maintain performance and carry a current density of 10 mA cm-2 for longer. As an integrated high-performance bifunctional electrode for overall water splitting, the CoMoP NFs only require 1.75 V@10 mA cm-2 for 40 h. This work highlights a facile method to create an electrocatalyst with fiber nanostructures which possesses excellent activity as an alkaline electrolyte.

Abstract
Inducible costimulator (ICOS) and its ligand (ICOSL) are critical to regulate the immune response in autoimmune diseases. The participation of B lymphocytes exhibits pathogenic potential in the disease process of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). However, the precise role of ICOSL in RA remains unclear. In this study, we aimed to explore the regulatory effects of CD19+ICOSL+ B cells in the pathogenesis of RA. We demonstrated the increased expression of ICOS and ICOSL in patients with RA and collagen-induced arthritis (CIA) mice. The population of CD19+ICOSL+ B-cell subset was significantly correlated with clinicopathological characteristics of RA patients and CIA mice. Adoptive transfer of CD19+ICOSL+ B cells aggravated arthritic progression in CIA mice. Moreover, microarray analysis revealed that CD19+ICOSL+ cells could exert pivotal effect in pathological process of RA. Further blocking of ICOSL significantly inhibited proinflammatory responses and ameliorated arthritic progression. Therefore, CD19+ICOSL+ B-cell subset could be defined as a specific pathogenic cell subpopulation involved in immunopathological damage of RA. Blockade of ICOSL is promising to be a potential new approach for RA therapy.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE We aimed to summarize the clinicopathological characteristics and prognostic features of various molecular subtypes of diffuse gliomas (DGs) in the Chinese population. METHODS In total, 1,418 patients diagnosed with DG between 2011 and 2017 were classified into 5 molecular subtypes according to the 2016 WHO classification of central nervous system tumors. The IDH mutation status was determined by immunohistochemistry and/or DNA sequencing, and 1p/19q codeletion was detected with fluorescence in situ hybridization. The median clinical follow-up time was 1,076 days. T-tests and chi-square tests were used to compare clinicopathological characteristics. Kaplan-Meier and Cox regression methods were used to evaluate prognostic factors. RESULTS Our cohort included 15.5% lower-grade gliomas, IDH-mutant and 1p/19q-codeleted (LGG-IDHm-1p/19q); 18.1% lower-grade gliomas, IDH-mutant (LGG-IDHm); 13.1% lower-grade gliomas, IDH-wildtype (LGG-IDHwt); 36.1% glioblastoma, IDH-wildtype (GBM-IDHwt); and 17.2% glioblastoma, IDH-mutant (GBM-IDHm). Approximately 63.3% of the enrolled primary gliomas, and the median overall survival times for LGG-IDHm, LGG-IDHwt, GBM-IDHwt, and GBM-IDHm subtypes were 75.97, 34.47, 11.57, and 15.17 months, respectively. The 5-year survival rate of LGG-IDHm-1p/19q was 76.54%. We observed a significant association between high resection rate and favorable survival outcomes across all subtypes of primary tumors. We also observed a significant role of chemotherapy in prolonging overall survival for GBM-IDHwt and GBM-IDHm, and in prolonging post-relapse survival for the 2 recurrent GBM subtypes. CONCLUSIONS By controlling for molecular subtypes, we found that resection rate and chemotherapy were 2 prognostic factors associated with survival outcomes in a Chinese cohort with DG.

Abstract
Ti3C2-MXene-based composites provide multifunctional interfaces in diagnosis and treatment of tumors. Herein, we proposed a multifunctional nanoplatform based on Ti3C2-MXene-Au nanocomposites, which combines photothermal properties and peroxidase-like activity, accomplishing synergistic photothermal therapy (PTT) and enzyme dynamic therapy (EDT) accompanied by photoacoustic (PA) and thermal dual-mode imaging in vivo. Furthermore, PTT induces immunogenic cell death, and EDT promotes cell apoptosis, facilitating dendritic cell (DC) maturation and T cell infiltration into the tumor. On this basis, the antibody OX40 (αOX40) was utilized to further contribute immune therapy for reversing the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment by activating CD4+ and CD8+ T cells. In summary, a triune of PTT/EDT/antitumor immune therapy is achieved by combining Ti3C2-MXene-Au nanocomposites and αOX40, which possesses several strong features of good biocompatibility, NIR-controlled targeting, significant cancer cell killing, and satisfactory biosafety in vitro and in vivo. Our work might highlight the promising application of MXene-based nanoplatforms for cancer therapy.

Abstract
Birefringent patterning by ultrafast laser nanostructuring in silica glass has been used for space-variant birefringent optics with high durability and high optical damage threshold. We demonstrate that the oblate-shaped birefringent modification (type X) with ultrahigh optical transmission has higher optical damage resistance, comparable to pristine silica glass. The lower damage threshold of nanogratings based modification (type 2) following thermal annealing at 900°C for an hour is improved from 0.96 J/cm2 to 1.62 J/cm2 for 300 fs laser pulses and approaches the optical damage threshold of type X (1.56 J/cm2). This opens the door to utilize these optical elements for high power laser applications where optical transmission and damage threshold are the key parameters. The lower damage threshold of type 2 modification is related to the relatively high concentration of defects, such as E' centers and oxygen-deficiency centers (ODCs).

Abstract
An enantiomerically enriched 3-hydroxymethyl pentenal unit is one of the key structural cores in plenty of natural products and drug candidates with significant biological activities. However, very few synthetic methodologies for the facile construction of the related skeletons have been reported to date. Herein, an elegant iridium-catalyzed asymmetric cascade allylation/retro-Claisen reaction of readily available β-diketones with VEC was successfully developed, and a wide range of functionalized chiral 3-hydroxymethyl pentenal derivatives could be prepared in good yields with excellent enantioselectivities. Various 1,3-diketones and functionalized ketones containing different electron-withdrawing groups on the β-position were well tolerated as outstanding partners with high reactivity and excellent regio-/chemo-/enantioselectivity. The synthetic utility of product chiral 3-hydroxymethyl pentenal derivatives was well shown through gram-scale transformation, hydrogenation, cyclopropanation, hydroboration, and olefin metathesis. Moreover, this elegant protocol demonstrated synthetic applications in the concise synthesis of synthetically useful chiral building block (S)-Taniguchi lactone and the formal synthesis of natural product cytisine. A rational reaction pathway was proposed based on the experimental results and control experiments.

Abstract
Lilium pumilum is an excellent wildflower germplasm resource with high resistance to salinity stress. The gene LpBCP plays an important role in salinity tolerance of L. pumilum. Studying the molecular mechanism of salinity resistance in L. pumilum will provide insights into multiple aspects, including breeding better varieties, environmental protection, improving soil conditions, etc. Conventional methods were used to determine different physiological indicators of Nicotiana benthamiana after NaHCO3 treatment, i.e. chlorophyll content, soluble phenol content and lignin content. RT-qPCR was carried out to find expression of LpBCP in different organs and under abiotic stresses. DAB was used to detect H2 O2 in leaves in situ. A yeast two-hybrid system was used to screen for LpBCP interacting proteins. LpBCP was cloned from bulbs of L. pumilum. The highest expression of LpBCP was in roots and bulbs of transgenic plants. LpBCP-overexpressed plants showed less wilting, compared to WT plants. LpBCP transgenic plants have higher chlorophyll, soluble phenol and lignin content, and lower relative conductivity under 500 mM NaHCO3 stress. In addition, H2 O2 scavenging in transgenic plants was much improved, indicating increased resistance to NaHCO3 stress. Thirteen LpBCP-interacting proteins were screened using the yeast two-hybrid method and five were associated with salt stress. Based on our findings, LPBCP could be a key gene that can be used to improve L. pumilum salt tolerance.

Abstract
Depression has become one of the severe mental disorders threatening global human health. In this study, we first used the proteomics approach to obtain the differentially expressed proteins in the liver between naive control and chronic social defeat stress (CSDS) induced depressed mice. We have identified the upregulation of iron binding protein transferrin (TF) in the liver, the peripheral blood, and the brain in CSDS-exposed mice. Furthermore, bioinformatics analysis of the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database from various mouse models of depression revealed the significantly upregulated transcripts of TF and its receptor TfR1 in multiple brain regions in depressed mice. We also used the recombinant TF administration via the tail vein to detect its permeability through the blood-brain barrier (BBB). We demonstrated the permeability of peripheral TF into the brain through the BBB. Together, these results identified the elevated expression of TF and its receptor TfR1 in both peripheral liver and the central brain in CSDS-induced depressed mice, and peripheral administration of TF can be transported into the brain through the BBB. Therefore, our data provide a compelling information for understanding the potential role and mechanisms of the cross-talk between the liver and the brain in stress-induced depression.

Abstract
The evaluation or metrology of commercial bank management efficiency is the core of its effective management. The existing management efficiency of commercial banks adopts evaluation scheme rather than metrology. There are four shortcomings with the evaluation scheme, the evaluation is a ranking of advantages and/or disadvantages, all objects should participate in the evaluation, the evaluation results are valid only for the evaluated objects, and the evaluation results lack the metrology benchmark of the object domain. To address this issue, the paper presents a method to determine the benchmark of management efficiency, which is similar to the unit "meter" in the metrology of "length" and the unit "scale" in the metrology of "management efficiency". Firstly, the method of cluster analysis is used to solve the problem of attribute metrology base of management efficiency metrology. Based on the master of certain attribute data of commercial bank management efficiency metrology, cluster analysis is carried out onto the attribute data, and its characteristics and patterns are mined to determine the candidate benchmark set. Secondly, in the candidate datum set, k-means method is used to determine the metrology attribute datum to obtain the general metrology attributes. Finally, the absolute metrology of management efficiency is carried out for any commercial bank according to the benchmark, and the validity and feasibility of the benchmark are verified with an example. In such a way, the deficiencies of four aspects of evaluation are solved. Such a strategy can be adapted to different banks at any different time for their respective measurement, which extends the clustering statistical methods for attribute datum determination. The results can be applied to some other fields wherein object metrology is the basic task.

Abstract
Schizophrenia is a serious mental illness characterized by a disconnection between brain regions. Transcranial magnetic stimulation is a non-invasive brain intervention technique that can be used as a new and safe treatment option for patients with schizophrenia with drug-refractory symptoms, such as negative symptoms and cognitive impairment. However, the therapeutic effects of transcranial magnetic stimulation remain unclear and would be investigated using non-invasive tools, such as functional connectivity (FC). A longitudinal design was adopted to investigate the alteration in FC dynamics using a dynamic functional connectivity (dFC) approach in patients with schizophrenia following high-frequency repeated transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) with the target at the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC). Two groups of schizophrenia inpatients were recruited. One group received a 4-week high-frequency rTMS together with antipsychotic drugs (TSZ, n = 27), while the other group only received antipsychotic drugs (DSZ, n = 26). Resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) and psychiatric symptoms were obtained from the patients with schizophrenia twice at baseline (t1) and after 4-week treatment (t2). The dynamics was evaluated using voxel- and region-wise FC temporal variability resulting from fMRI data. The pattern classification technique was used to verify the clinical application value of FC temporal variability. For the voxel-wise FC temporary variability, the repeated measures ANCOVA analysis showed significant treatment × time interaction effects on the FC temporary variability between the left DLPFC and several regions, including the thalamus, cerebellum, precuneus, and precentral gyrus, which are mainly located within the cortico-thalamo-cerebellar circuit (CTCC). For the ROI-wise FC temporary variability, our results found a significant interaction effect on the FC among CTCC. rTMS intervention led to a reduced FC temporary variability. In addition, higher alteration in FC temporal variability between left DLPFC and right posterior parietal thalamus predicted a higher remission ratio of negative symptom scores, indicating that the decrease of FC temporal variability between the brain regions was associated with the remission of schizophrenia severity. The support vector regression (SVR) results suggested that the baseline pattern of FC temporary variability between the regions in CTCC could predict the efficacy of high-frequency rTMS intervention on negative symptoms in schizophrenia. These findings confirm the potential relationship between the reduction in whole-brain functional dynamics induced by high-frequency rTMS and the improvement in psychiatric scores, suggesting that high-frequency rTMS affects psychiatric symptoms by coordinating the heterogeneity of activity between the brain regions. Future studies would examine the clinical utility of using functional dynamics patterns between specific brain regions as a biomarker to predict the treatment response of high-frequency rTMS.

A one-pot Cu-mediated H-D exchange with inexpensive heavy water as the deuterium source, followed by Cu- and Ir-catalyzed stereodivergent allylic alkylation, has been developed, providing efficient access to enantioenriched α-deuterium-labeled α-amino acids from readily available glycine imine esters in a high yield with excellent stereoselectivity. High deuterium enrichment, exquisite regioselectivity, precise stereoselectivity control, and operationally convenient procedures make this protocol appealing for the preparation of highly synthetically useful α-deuterated α-amino acids.

Abstract
Purpose: Heart failure (HF) is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide, and it is characterized by cardiac hypertrophy and fibrosis. However, effective treatments are not available to block cardiac fibrosis after cardiac hypertrophy. The QiShenYiQi pill (QSYQ) is an effective treatment for chronic HF. However, the underlying mechanism remains unclear. Methods: In the present study, a pressure overload-induced cardiac hypertrophy model was established in rats by inducing ascending aortic stenosis for 4 weeks. QSYQ was administered for 6 weeks, and its effects on cardiac fibrosis, myocardial apoptosis, RP S19 release, macrophage polarization, TGF-β1 production, and TGF-β1/Smad signaling were analyzed. In vitro studies using H9C2, Raw264.7, and RDF cell models were performed to confirm the in vivo study findings and evaluate the contribution to the observed effects of the main ingredients of QSYQ, namely, astragaloside IV, notoginsenoside R1, 3,4-dihydroxyl-phenyl lactic acid, and Dalbergia odorifera T. C. Chen oil. The role of four-and-a-half LIM domains protein 2 (FHL2) in cardiac fibrosis and QSYQ’s effects were assessed by small interfering RNAs (siRNAs).Results: QSYQ ameliorated cardiac fibrosis after pressure overload-induced cardiac hypertrophy and attenuated cardiomyocyte apoptosis, low FHL2 expression, and TGF-β1 release by the injured myocardium. QSYQ also inhibited the following: release of RP S19 from the injured myocardium, activation of C5a receptors in monocytes, polarization of macrophages, and release of TGF-β1. Moreover, QSYQ downregulated TGF-βR-II expression induced by TGF-β1 in fibroblasts and inhibited Smad protein activation and collagen release and deposition. Conclusion: The results showed that QSYQ inhibited myocardial fibrosis after pressure overload, which was mediated by RP S19-TGF-β1 signaling and decreased FHL2, thus providing support for QSYQ as a promising therapy for blocking myocardial fibrosis.

Evaluation of the Transverse Carpal Ligament in Carpal Tunnel Syndrome by Shear Wave Elastography: A Non-Invasive Approach of Diagnosis and Management. Front Neurol 2022; 13:901104. Abstract
ObjectivesThe goal of this work is to determine the clinical value of the transverse carpal ligament (TCL) in carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) for guiding subsequent treatment.MethodsThis study analyzed patients who underwent median nerve (MN) ultrasound (US) examination of the wrist from April 2020 to April 2021. The cross-sectional area and anteroposterior diameter of the MN, as well as the TCL thickness and stiffness, were measured from images. The intra-group and intra-patient subgroup differences were compared using a t-test and a rank test. We also utilized receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves to diagnose CTS and evaluate the severity.ResultsThe final cohort consisted of 120 wrists (bilateral) from 60 samples, evenly balanced across the patient and control groups according to their CTS diagnosis. In the unilateral positive patient subgroup, the MN and TCL of the positive hand were significantly thicker and stiffer than the negative counterparts (both, p < 0.05). The values from the right were also thicker and stiffer than the left (both, p < 0.05) in patients with bilateral CTS. The MN and TCL of the patient group were also significantly thicker and stiffer than those of the control group (both, p < 0.001). For diagnosing CTS, the area under the curve (AUC) of TCL thickness and stiffness at the distal carpal tunnel (DCT) ranged between 0.925 and 0.967. For evaluating CTS severity, we found that the optimal TCL stiffness is sufficient for diagnosing mild and non-mild patient cases (AUC: Emean = 0.757, Emax = 0.779).ConclusionsShear wave elastography is therefore an effective method for CTS diagnosis and management.
