Abstract
BACKGROUND Tea is one of the most popular drinks in the world. The growth of tea plant is inseparable from the control of pesticides on diseases and pests. Pyriproxyfen is used as a pesticide substitute to control insect pests in tea gardens, but little is known about its residue degradation. Here, we performed an integrative study of the degradation and metabolism of pyriproxyfen from the tea garden to the cup. RESULTS The dissipation half-life of pyriproxyfen during tea growth was 2.74 days, and five metabolites PYPAC, PYPA, DPH-Pyr, 5''-OH-Pyr, and 4'-OH-Pyr were generated. The total processing factors for pyriproxyfen in green tea and black tea were 2.41-2.83 and 2.77-3.70, respectively. The residues of pyriproxyfen and its metabolites were affected by different processing steps. The total leaching rates of pyriproxyfen from green tea and black tea into their infusions were 9.8-12.3% and 5.3-13.8%, respectively. The leaching rates of the five metabolites were higher than that of pyriproxyfen and increased the intake risk. CONCLUSION To ensure safe consumption, the recommended maximum residue limit value of pyriproxyfen in tea can be set to 5 mg kg-1 and the pre-harvest interval can be set to 5 days. © 2022 Society of Chemical Industry.

Abstract
Oilfield sewage has a complex composition with large amounts of emulsified oils, polymers and surfactants. Efficient coagulants are required to purify such sewage to meet emissions standards. In this study, oxidized FeSO4·7H2O and NaHCO3were condensed by basic titration and polyferric sulfate phosphate (PPFS) was prepared by the addition of NaH2PO4·2H2O to improve its charge and stability. In addition, by adding modified palygorskite and cationic amylum, a functional polyferric sulfate phosphate, palygorskite and cationic amylum copolymer (PPFS-P-AM) composite coagulant was synthesized through self-assembly, and then used to treat oilfield sewage. The characteristic functional groups and crystal forms of the coagulant were characterized by FTIR and XRD. The zeta potential and radius of gyration (Rh) indicate that the introduction of palygorskite and cationic amylum enhance the charge neutralization and bridging adsorption abilities, respectively. The optimal dosage of cationic amylum is 5% in 80 mg·L-1 PPFS-P-AM, which provides turbidity and oil removal rates of 98% and 94%, respectively. Observation by SEM shows that the micro-morphology of PPFS-P-AM flocs has adendritic distribution with a reticular macromolecular structure that provides good sweeping performance during the sedimentation process. Finally, an analysis of its properties and performance reveals the mechanism by which PPFS-P-AM coagulates oilfield sewage. PPFS-P-AM provides better coagulation than the other studied coagulants via the synergistic effects of reinforced charge neutralization, bridging adsorption and sweeping.

Abstract
Rab7 is a member of the Rab GTPases protein family, and it plays an essential role in regulating trafficking organelles in higher animals. However, recent studies showed that it also participated in the immune response and cytophagy against pathogens in invertebrates. In the present study, the full-length of Rab7 from Procambarus clarkii (PcRab7) was cloned, and its function during pathogen infection and phagocytosis of haemocytes was also explored. The results showed that the full-length of PcRab7 was 3639 bp, containing a 618 bp open reading frame encoding 155 amino acids. The predicted molecular weight and isoelectric point of PcRab7 were 23.2 kDa and 5.77, respectively. PcRab7 was widely expressed in various tissues including haemocytes, intestine, muscle, gill, and hepatopancreas, and the highest expression level was in haemocytes. The mRNA transcripts of PcRab7 in the main organs (gill, intestine, and hepatopancreas, and haemocytes) were significantly affected by white spot syndrome virus (WSSV) and Aeromonas veronii infection. Subsequently, the prokaryotic and eukaryotic expression vectors were successfully constructed, and polyclonal antibodies, which could specifically recognize the endogenous Rab7 protein, were also obtained. Furthermore, the phagocytosis rate of haemocytes against FITC-labeled A. veronii was significantly decreased when the PcRab7 was silenced, while the over-expression of Rab7 increased the phagocytosis rate of haemocytes. The abnormal expression of Rab7 protein could also affect the survival rate of P. clarkii infected with WSSV or A. veronii. These results could provide a basis for further study on the immunological function of PcRab7.

Abstract
Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic, it has spread on a large scale around the world, seriously affecting people's physical and mental health. In China, almost all schools have postponed semesters, suspended offline classes, and implemented closed-off management, which has brought significant challenges to the study and life of college students. The study aimed to explore the relationship between risk perception, perceived stress, perceived control, and mental health among Chinese college students. This cross-sectional study was conducted among 1,856 college students. The results showed that risk perception was positively correlated with mental health. After adding the mediating variable of perceived stress, risk perception still significantly predicted mental health. In addition, the interaction term of perceived stress and perceived control significantly negatively predicted mental health. Specifically, perceived stress significantly affected mental health in the low-perceived control group. In contrast, in the high-perceived control group, the predictive effect of perceived stress on mental health disappeared. The present study showed that perceived stress partially mediated the relationship between risk perception and mental health; perceived control moderated the relationship between perceived stress and mental health, and high perceived control could buffer the effect of perceived stress on mental health.

Abstract
Background The role of serum high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-c) in tumorigenesis are observed in several endocrine-related cancers. However, its role in pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (PNENs) has not been understood. In the current study, the relationship between HDL-c levels and malignant behavior in PNENs was explored. Methods One hundred ninety-seven patients with histopathology confirmed PNENs were included. PNENs were divided into three grades (G1, G2 and G3) as 2017 WHO classification based on ki67 index and mitosis count. The demographic data, clinical information, tumor morphological and pathological features (organs invasion, lymph node metastasis, vascular invasion and perineural invasion), and serum tumor biomarkers were collected. The relationships between HDL-c levels and malignant behaviors in PNENs were analyzed using logistic regression analysis. Models were also developed for the identification of high grade PNENs. Results The levels of serum HDL-c in G2/G3 tumor were significantly lower than that in G1 tumor (P = 0.031). However, no such difference was found between G3 and G1/G2. The proportions of low HDL-c (≤ 0.9 mmol/L) were higher in high-grade PNENs (G2/G3 or G3) than those in low-grade (G1 or G1/G2) (29.0 vs 15.2%, P = 0.032; 37.0 vs 20.5%, P = 0.023). The risk of G2/G3 tumors in patients with high serum HDL-c levels was decreased (odds ratio (OR) = 0.35, 95% confidence interval (CI): 0.12–0.99). Similarly, the risk of G3 PNENs increased in patients with low HDL-c levels (OR = 2.51, 95%CI:1.12–5.60). HDL-c level was also associated with a high ki67 index (> 55%) (OR = 0.10, 95%CI: 0.02–0.51) and neuroendocrine carcinoma G3 (OR = 0.21, 95%CI: 0.06–0.80). The area under the curve (AUC) of HDL-c + tumor size + age was 0.85 (95% CI: 0.79–0.91) in identifying G2/G3 PNENs, and HDL-c (> 0.9 mmol/L) + tumor size + age had an AUC of 0.77 (95% CI: 0.70–0.84) in identifying G3 PNENs. HDL-c level was associated with lymph node metastasis (OR = 0.24, 95%CI:0.08–0.99). Conclusion Serum HDL-c levels were significantly associated with malignant behaviors in PNENs, in particular to tumor grade and lymph node metastasis.

Abstract
The emergence of functional materials, especially energy materials made up of various structures with different properties, requires the development of complementary or integrated characterization technologies. The combination of atomic force microscopy and Raman spectroscopy (AFM-Raman) offers a powerful technique for the in situ characterization of physical properties (AFM) and chemical composition (Raman) of materials simultaneously. To further extend the potential application in the battery's field, we here present an electrochemical AFM-Raman (EC-AFM-Raman) in the reflection mode, developed by designing a novel structure including water-immersion objective lens-based optics for high-sensitivity Raman excitation/collection, optical level detection for AFM imaging in the solution, and a dual-cell for electrochemical reaction. EC-AFM imaging and Raman measurement can be realized simultaneously. Dynamic morphologic evolution and phase transition of the LiMn2O4 particles during cyclic voltammetry measurement were successfully observed. This technique will provide the possibility of probing physicochemical phenomena of the battery materials and other surface/interface processes such as the formation of the solid electrolyte interphase layer.

Abstract
Di-(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) is a widely used plasticizer and has been identified as a male prenatal reproductive toxicant. A high fat diet (HFD) has also been suggested as another potential disruptor of male reproductive function. Despite this potential synergism between DEHP exposure and HFD, little is known about the concomitant effects of prenatal DEHP and a subsequent HFD exposure on male offspring reproductive injury. Here we established a mouse model of prenatal exposure to DEHP (0.2 mg/kg/day) to assess the testicular development and spermatogenesis in offspring subjected to obesogenic diet during the pubertal period. Gross phenotype, hormone profiles and the testicular metabolome were analyzed to determine the underlying mechanism. We found that prenatal exposure to low-dose DEHP resulted in decreased sperm density, decreased testosterone (T) levels, increased luteinizing hormone (LH) levels and testicular germ cell apoptosis. Furthermore, these injury phenotypes were aggravated by pubertal HFD treatment. Testicular riboflavin and biotin metabolites were enriched implying their roles in contributing HFD to exacerbate offspring spermatogenesis disorders due to prenatal low-dose DEHP exposure. Our findings suggest that pubertal HFD exacerbates reproductive dysfunction associated with prenatal exposure to low-dose DEHP in male adult offspring.

Abstract
Background Rapid diagnosis of infectious pathogens at an early stage is crucial to stabilize the patient's condition, reduce medical costs, and shorten hospital stays. Currently, some point‐of‐care tests have their own shortcomings. Therefore, we built a microfluidic chip based on loop‐mediated isothermal amplification to can quickly and sensitively detect infectious pathogens. Methods We extracted the DNA of S. aureus, MRSA, Shigella and Klebsiella pneumoniae. Then, the DNA samples were diluted by 10‐fold and examined by two methods: LAMP‐microfluidic chip and q‐PCR, the sensitivity of whom was also compared. In addition, the specificity of the two was also examined by detecting the target bacteria and other microorganisms using the same methods. Finally, we extracted and tested the DNA of clinically infected humoral samples to determine the coincidence rate between the two methods and the bacterial culture method. Results For S. aureus, MRSA, Shigella, and Klebsiella pneumoniae, the detection limits of the chip were 2.25 × 103 copies/μl, 5.32 × 103 copies/μl, 2.89 × 103 copies/μl, 6.53 × 102 copies/μl, and the detection limits of q‐PCR were 2.25 × 102 copies/μl, 5.32 × 101 copies/μl, 2.89 × 102 copies/μl, 6.53 × 101 copies/μl, respectively. In terms of detection specificity, neither method cross‐reacted with other strains. For the detection of infectious humoral samples, the total coincidence rate between the q‐PCR and bacterial culture method was 85.7%, 95%, 95%, and 95.5%, and the total coincidence rate between the chip and bacterial culture method was 81%, 95%, 90%, and 86.4%, respectively. Conclusion LAMP‐microfluidic chip provides a simple, sensitive, specific, convenient, and rapid pathogen detection method for clinically infected humoral samples without relying on expensive equipment or technical personnels.

Abstract
Infertility is a serious social and public health problem, and the causes of infertility are also the focus of many researchers in recent years. Since the invention of the electric light, people's exposure to night light has increased rapidly, and the adverse effects on human health have also begun to enter the vision of researchers. Studies have shown that artificial lighting at night can affect the circadian rhythm of organisms and the secretion of melatonin (melatonin), and regular circadian rhythms and sufficient melatonin are conducive to successful reproduction. This article reviews the current research status of the effects of artificial lighting at night on infertility in recent years, which provides a new direction for researchers to study the influencing factors of infertility.

Abstract
Crab-eating frogs (Fejervarya cancrivora) can live in brackish water with a salinity of up to 18‱, although most amphibians are not able to tolerate such high saline environments. To investigate its potential osmoregulation, we conducted experiments in F. cancrivora and F. multistriata. The results showed that F. cancrivora made use of ions (such as Na+ and Cl−) to increase intracellular concentrations via the Na+/K+-ATPase (NKA) enzyme. The mRNA expression of aldose reductase (AR) was significantly higher in F. cancrivora (p < 0.05), indicating that more organic osmolytes were produced and transported to maintain cellular homeosis. The mRNA expressions of Aquaporin 1 (AQP1) and AQP3 in kidney were significantly higher in F. cancrivora, while AQP expression in skin was higher in F. multistriata (p < 0.05). The mRNA level in activating the transcription of the nuclear factor of activated T cells-5 (NFAT5) which is one of the target genes of regulating the cellular response to hypertonicity, was higher in F. cancrivora. The protein expression of CDK5, the upstream protein of the NFAT5 pathway, was 2 times higher in F. cancrivora. Therefore, we can conclude that CDK5/NFAT5-regulated transporters might be involved in osmoregulation in F. cancrivora.

Abstract
Chiral pesticides are unique hazardous materials. Here, we systematically studied the potentially harmful products of enantioselective indoxacarb degradation throughout tea growth, processing, and brewing and tested their toxicity to tea geometrid larvae and honeybees. The half-lives of S-indoxacarb and R-indoxacarb during tea growth were 2.6 d and 3.3 d, respectively. There was a trend toward the production of S-indoxacarb from R-indoxacarb. The degradation products IN-JT333, IN-MK638, IN-MF014, and IN-KG433 were also characterized in tea growth and processing and detected. IN-JT333, previously known as a direct insecticidal compound produced by the enzymatic transformation of indoxacarb in insects, was first found in plant samples. The fixation and rolling of green tea and the rolling of black tea were the most important steps that affected indoxacarb and its degradation products. The leaching rates of R-indoxacarb and S-indoxacarb were slightly higher in green tea than in black tea. The maximum leaching rates of IN-MK638 and IN-MF014 during the brewing process reached 89.9% and 94.1%, respectively. Contact toxicity tests with honeybees and tea geometrid larvae in the lab showed that the relative toxicities of the compounds could be ranked as follows: S-indoxacarb > indoxacarb (3S + 1R) ≫ R-indoxacarb. TEST toxicity predictions showed that relative toxicities were ranked IN-KG433 > indoxacarb > IN-JT333 > IN-MK638 > IN-MF014. The toxicity of the degradation product IN-KG433 is higher than that of indoxacarb itself, and its maximum leaching rate is as high as 88.2%. It therefore transfers readily from processed tea to the tea infusion during the brewing process. These findings indicate the need to pay attention to the risk of metabolites and enantiomeric differences and provide new, comprehensive insight into the risk factors for indoxacarb in tea and are relevant to the study of other chiral pesticides.

Abstract
Low hemoglobin (Hb) level or anemia is associated with osteoporosis and bone fracture. Cadmium (Cd) and lead (Pb) exposure are also risk factors of osteoporosis and anemia. However, the role of anemia in Cd/Pb related bone loss remains unclear. The aim of present study was to investigate the association between Hb level and bone loss in a population with environmental lead and cadmium exposure. One hundred and ninety-four women and 108 men with different levels of Cd/Pb exposure were included in our study. The Cd/Pb exposure was determined using graphite-furnace atomic absorption spectrometry. Forearm bone mineral density (BMD) was determined by peripheral dual-energy X-ray absortiometry. Hb concentration was determined using an automatic blood cellcounter. A logistic model was established to predict the risk of osteoporosis. The BMDs of women that had the highest quartile BCd and BPb were markedly lower than that with the lowest quartile (p < 0.05). The BMD and the prevalence of osteoporosis in men with anemia were lower and higher than that with normal Hb (p < 0.05), respectively. In men, age, BPb and anemia were independent risk factors for osteoporosis. The odds ratio (OR) of men with anemia was 11.28 (95%confidence interval (CI):1.94-65.54) and 19.56 (95%CI: 2.98-128.78) compared to those with normal Hb after adjusting for potential cofounders. No such association was found in women. The area under the curve was 0.88 (95%CI: 0.82-0.96) in predicting osteoporosis using the logistic model in men. Linear discriminant analysis also showed that 90.7% of osteoporosis was correctly classified. Our data show that anemia is associated with incident of osteoporosis in men but not in women that environmentally exposed to Pb and Cd.

Abstract
A generic theory about skyrmion crystal (SkX) formation in chiral magnetic thin films and its fascinating thermodynamic behaviours is presented. A chiral magnetic film can have many metastable states with an arbitrary skyrmion density up to a maximal value when the parameter κ, which measures the relative Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction (DMI) strength, is large enough. The lowest energy state of an infinite film is a long zig-zag ramified stripe skyrmion occupying the whole film in the absence of a magnetic field. Under an intermediate field perpendicular to the film, the lowest energy state has a finite skyrmion density. This is why a chiral magnetic film is often in a stripy state at a low field and a SkX only around an optimal field when κ is above a critical value. The lowest energy state is still a stripy helical state no matter with or without a field when κ is below the critical value. The multi-metastable states explain the thermodynamic path dependences of the various metastable states of a film. The decrease of the κ value with the temperature explains why SkXs become metastable at low temperatures in many skyrmion systems. These findings open a new avenue for SkX manipulation and skyrmion-based applications.

Abstract
The origin of 9, 10-anthraquinone (AQ) contamination in tea remains unclear at present. The objective of this study was to test the hypothesis that AQ could be produced from the precursor anthracene in tea plantations. To test this hypothesis, the uptake, translocation, and transformation of anthracene in tea (Camellia sinensis) seedlings using hydroponic experimentation was investigated. Anthracene concentrations in tea tissues rose with increased anthracene exposure, which in the roots were significantly (p < 0.05) higher than those in aboveground parts at the end of the exposure. These results indicated that anthracene tended to be adsorbed into tea seedling via the roots and accumulated largely within roots. The three main pathways of anthracene degradation in tea seedlings were suggested: oxygen was incorporated in the 9th and 10th positions of anthracene resulting in AQ (I) and anthrone (II), and naphthalene was formed by ring fission of anthracene via methylanthracene (III). The principal anthracene metabolites were AQ and anthrone. The concentrations of AQ, like anthrone, were markedly elevated in the roots than those in stems throughout the entire exposure period. Moreover, the translocation factors for anthracene and its primary metabolites AQ and anthrone from roots to stems were persistently lower than 0.1, demonstrating a poor translocation from roots to the aboveground regions. However, tea seedlings could take anthracene up from water and translocate it to the leaves. It was a possible risk for AQ contamination in tea leaves continuously exposed to anthracene for long periods of time because tea plants were perennial crops.

Abstract
Triclosan (TCS) is a broad-spectrum antibacterial agent and widely exists in environmental media and organisms. TCS exposure was reported to have adverse effects on reproduction including embryo implantation disorder. During the embryo implantation window, it is vital that the endometrium develops into a receptive state under the influence of ovarian hormones. However, the effect of TCS on embryo implantation and endometrial receptivity remains unclear. In current study, we found decreased embryo implantation rate, serum estrogen (E2) and progesterone (P4) levels in mice exposed to TCS from gestation day (GD) 0.5 to 5.5. Through RNA-seq, we identified nearly 800 differentially expressed genes (DEGs), which were enriched in pathways including uterus development, inflammatory response and immune system process. Among those enriched pathways, the tight junction pathway is essential for the establishment of receptive state of endometrium. Then, genes involved in tight junction pathway including Cldn7, Cldn10 and Crb3 were validated by RT-qPCR and the results were consistent with the RNA-seq. Through immunofluorescence staining and western blotting, we confirmed that the tight junction protein levels of CLDN7 and CRB3 were increased. All these findings suggest that pre-implantation TCS exposure reduces the rate of embryo implantation through up-regulating the expression of tight junction genes and affecting the receptivity of endometrium. Our data could be used to determine the sensitive time frame for TCS exposure and offer new strategy to prevent implantation failure.

Abstract
Some studies have examined the association between air pollution and semen quality. While it is less of evidence on the sperm quality after long-term air pollution exposure, especially the co-exposure of different air pollution components. Additionally, the role of DNA methylation in it hasn't been confirmed. This study aimed to investigate whether long-term exposure to air pollution was associated with semen quality, as well as to explore the effect of sperm DNA methylation in such association. From 2014 to 2016, 1607 fertile men were enrolled to evaluate 14 parameters of semen quality. Exposure window was defined as one-year before semen sampling. Multivariable linear regression and weighted quantile sum (WQS) regression model were used to investigate the association between six air pollutants co-exposure and semen quality. Sensitivity analysis regarding at the normal semen quality group was also conducted. Semen samples were randomly selected from 200 participants to detect the genomic 5-methylcytosine (5 mC) and 5-hydroxymethylcytosine (5-hmC) levels in sperm. In the total population, PM10, PM2.5, SO2, and NO2 were negatively associated with sperm total motility (PM10: β = -2.67, P = 0.009; PM2.5: β = -2.86, P = 0.004; SO2: β = -2.32, P = 0.011; NO2: β = -2.21, P = 0.012). Results of the normal semen quality group were consistent with those from the whole population. WQS regression results indicated significant decreasing sperm total motility after the co-exposure of the six air pollutants (β = -1.64, P = 0.003) in whole participants. Wherein, PM10 accounted for largest proportion (43.4%). The 5-hmC level was positively associated with PM10 exposure (β = 0.002, P < 0.001). Long-term exposure to PM10, PM2.5, SO2, and NO2, as well as co-exposure to six air pollutants, reduced semen quality in fertile men. As the most significant contributor of air pollutant, PM10 exposure decreased sperm DNA methylation.

Abstract
Recent years have witnessed the growing literature in empirical evaluation of explainable AI (XAI) methods. This study contributes to this ongoing conversation by presenting a comparison on the effects of a set of established XAI methods in AI-assisted decision making. Based on our review of previous literature, we highlight three desirable properties that ideal AI explanations should satisfy — improve people’s understanding of the AI model, help people recognize the model uncertainty, and support people’s calibrated trust in the model. Through three randomized controlled experiments, we evaluate whether four types of common model-agnostic explainable AI methods satisfy these properties on two types of AI models of varying levels of complexity, and in two kinds of decision making contexts where people perceive themselves as having different levels of domain expertise. Our results demonstrate that many AI explanations do not satisfy any of the desirable properties when used on decision making tasks that people have little domain expertise in. On decision making tasks that people are more knowledgeable, the feature contribution explanation is shown to satisfy more desiderata of AI explanations, even when the AI model is inherently complex. We conclude by discussing the implications of our study for improving the design of XAI methods to better support human decision making, and for advancing more rigorous empirical evaluation of XAI methods.

Abstract
Our study aims to explore the active components and mechanisms of the Danshen-Guizhi drug pair in treating ovarian cancer by network pharmacology and in vitro experiment. The "component-target-pathway" diagram of the Danshen-Guizhi drug pair was established by network pharmacology, and the effective active components, important targets as well as potential mechanisms of the Danshen-Guizhi drug pair were analyzed. The predicted results were verified by molecular docking and in vitro experiments. The main active components of the Danshen-Guizhi drug pair in the treatment of ovarian cancer are salviolone, luteolin, β-sitosterol and tanshinone IIA. The main core target is PTGS2. The pathways involved mainly include the cancer pathway, PI3K-Akt signaling pathway, and IL-17 signaling pathway. The molecular docking results showed that salviolone and tanshinone IIA had good binding ability to the target. The expression of PTGS2 mRNA and PGE2 in ovarian cells were significantly inhibited by salviolone. The mechanism of the Danshen-Guizhi drug pair in the treatment of ovarian cancer may be regulating cell proliferation, apoptosis and tumor immunity. This provides a theoretical basis for the clinical development and application of the Danshen-Guizhi drug pair.

Abstract
Benzophenone-3 (BP-3) is widely used in a variety of cosmetics and is prevalent in drinking water or food, and women were under notable high exposure burden of BP-3. Reports show the associations between prenatal exposure to BP-3 and the risk of fetal loss, but its underlying mechanism remains largely unknown. Pregnant ICR mice were gavaged with BP-3 from gestational day (GD) 0 to GD 6 at doses of 0.1, 10 and 1000 mg/kg/day. The samples were collected on GD 12. Ultra-performance liquid chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry-based metabolomics was used to detect metabolome changes in fetal mice, the uterus and the placenta to identify the underlying mechanism. The results showed that the body weight and relative organ weights of the liver, brain and uterus of pregnant mice were not significantly changed between the control group and the treatment group. BP-3 increased fetal loss, and induced placental thrombosis and tissue necrosis with enhancement of platelet aggregation. Metabolomic analysis revealed that fructose and mannose metabolism, the TCA cycle, arginine and proline metabolism in the fetus, arginine and proline metabolism and biotin metabolism in the uterus, and arginine biosynthesis and pyrimidine metabolism in the placenta were the key changed pathways involved in the above changes. Our study indicates that exposure to BP-3 can induce placental thrombosis and fetal loss via the disruption of maternal and fetal metabolism in mice, providing novel insights into the influence of BP-3 toxicity on the female reproductive system.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Maternal exposure to environmental chemicals during pregnancy can influence various maternal and offspring health parameters. Modification of maternal metabolism by environmental exposure may be an important pathway for these impacts. However, there is limited evidence regarding exposure to a wide array of chemicals and the metabolome during pregnancy. OBJECTIVES We investigated the relationship between the urinary exposome and metabolome during pregnancy. METHODS Urine samples were collected in the first and third trimesters from 1,024 pregnant women recruited in prenatal clinics in Jiangsu Province, China. The exposome was analyzed using the first trimester sample with ultra-high performance liquid chromatography-high resolution accurate mass spectrometry (UHPLC-HRMS) and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry. The metabolome was analyzed using the third trimester sample with UHPLC-HRMS. We evaluated associations between each of 106 exposures in the first trimester with 139 metabolites in the third trimester. RESULTS We identified 1,245 significant associations (p<3.39×10-6, Bonferroni correction) between chemical exposures and maternal metabolism during pregnancy. Among elements, the largest number of the significant metabolic associations were observed for magnesium, and among organic compounds, for 4-tert-octylphenol. We used exposome-metabolome associations to explore mechanisms underlying published associations between prenatal chemical exposures and offspring health outcomes. This integration of the literature with our results suggests that reported associations between 10 analytes and birth weight, gestational age, fat deposition, neurobehavioral development, immunological disorders, and hypertension may be partially mediated by metabolites associated with these exposures. DISCUSSION This high-dimensional analysis of the urinary exposome and metabolome identified many associations between chemical exposures and maternal metabolism during pregnancy. Integration of these associations with the literature on health outcomes of exposure suggests that environmental modulation of the maternal metabolome may play a role in the association between prenatal exposure on pregnancy and child health outcomes. https://doi.org/10.1289/EHP9745.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the predictive values of the modified Baux score, Belgian Outcome in Burn Injury score, and Ryan score on the death risk of severe burn patients. Methods: A retrospective case series study was conducted. From February 2018 to November 2019, 260 severe burn patients who met the inclusion criteria were admitted to the Department of Burns of the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University, including 158 males and 102 females, aged 36 (3, 53) years. According to the final outcome, the patients were divided into survival group (n=229) and death group (n=31). Data of patients were compared and statistically analyzed with chi-square test or Mann-Whitney U test between the two groups, including the gender, age, cause of burn, site of burn, total burn area, depth of burn, combined inhalation injury, and combined underlying diseases on admission, and the modified Baux score, Belgian Outcome in Burn Injury score, and Ryan score calculated based on part of the aforementioned data. The Kendall tau-b coefficient method was used to analyze the consistency of the above-mentioned three scores in 260 severe burn patients. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves of the above-mentioned three scores predicting the death risk of 260 severe burn patients were drawn, and the area under the curve (AUC), the optimal threshold, and the sensitivity and specificity under the optimal threshold were calculated. The quality of AUC of the above-mentioned three scores was compared by Delong test. Results: The gender, site of burn, and depth of burn of patients between the two groups were all similar (P>0.05). The age, total burn area, proportion of flame burn, proportion of combined inhalation injury, and proportion of combined underlying diseases of patients in death group were significantly higher than those in survival group (with Z values of 5.53 and 17.78, respectively, χ2 values of 16.23, 15.89, and 17.78, respectively, P<0.01); the modified Baux score, Belgian Outcome in Burn Injury score, and Ryan score of patients in death group were 142 (115, 155), 7 (5, 7), 2 (2, 3), all significantly higher than 64 (27, 87), 1 (0, 3), 0 (0, 1) in survival group (with Z values of 7.91, 7.64, and 7.61, respectively, P<0.01). In 260 severe burn patients, the results between the modified Baux score and Ryan score, modified Baux score and Belgian Outcome in Burn Injury score, Ryan score and Belgian Outcome in Burn Injury score were significantly consistent (with Kendall tau-b coefficients of 0.75, 0.71, and 0.86, respectively, P<0.01). The AUCs of ROC curves of the modified Baux score, Belgian Outcome in Burn Injury score, and Ryan score for predicting the death risk of 260 severe burn patients were 0.92, 0.89, and 0.85, respectively (with 95% confidence intervals of 0.86-0.98, 0.83-0.95, and 0.78-0.93, respectively, P<0.01); the optimal thresholds were 106.5, 4.5, and 1.5 points, respectively; the sensitivity under the optimal threshold were 88.5%, 76.9%, and 73.1%, respectively, and the specificity under the optimal threshold were 88.5%, 87.2%, and 86.3%, respectively. The modified Baux score was similar to Belgian Outcome in Burn Injury score in the AUC quality (z=1.25, P>0.05), which were both significantly better than the AUC quality of Ryan score (with z values of 2.35 and 2.11, respectively, P<0.05). Conclusions: The modified Baux score, Belgian Outcome in Burn Injury score, and Ryan score have good ability in predicting the death risk of severe burn patients. From the perspective of clinical practice, the modified Baux score is more suitable as a predictive tool for the prognosis of severe burn patients.

Abstract
We built a Cu-MoTe2-Cu device model and used first-principles density functional theory to study the transport properties of the Td-MoTe2 heterojunction. We obtained the effect of strain on the energy band structure of the bulk Td-MoTe2, the transport properties, and photocurrent of the Cu-MoTe2-Cu device. The strain-induced photocurrent shows an anisotropy that reflects the modulation of the energy bands, including the Weyl point, by strain. The photocurrent can be suppressed to almost zero when the strain is applied along the vacuum direction. In contrast, the photocurrent can be significantly increased when the strain is applied along the transport direction. The transport properties and magnitude of the photocurrent in the MoTe2-based device can be effectively modulated by adjusting the strength and direction of the strain.
