Abstract
Searches for new resonances are performed using an unsupervised anomaly-detection technique. Events with at least one electron or muon are selected from 140 fb^{-1} of pp collisions at sqrt[s]=13 TeV recorded by ATLAS at the Large Hadron Collider. The approach involves training an autoencoder on data, and subsequently defining anomalous regions based on the reconstruction loss of the decoder. Studies focus on nine invariant mass spectra that contain pairs of objects consisting of one light jet or b jet and either one lepton (e,μ), photon, or second light jet or b jet in the anomalous regions. No significant deviations from the background hypotheses are observed. Limits on contributions from generic Gaussian signals with various widths of the resonance mass are obtained for nine invariant masses in the anomalous regions.

Abstract
Deep sternal wound infection (DSWI) is one of the potential and catastrophic complications after cardiac surgery. Despite the use of smaller incisions, routine application of prophylactic antibiotic and optimized blood glucose management, the incidence rate of DSWI still fluctuates between 1% and 5%. The early symptoms and signs of DSWI are not often obvious, making it too late for the clinicians to intervene in the process. Once left untreated, DSWI carries a very high mortality rate. Therefore, early prevention, diagnosis, and appropriate management of DSWI are crucial in preventing its progression to life-threatening outcomes. Considering the clinical severity and treatment complexity of DSWI, this article focuses on preventive experiences in each stage of DSWI, and reconstructive strategies after DSWI happens, raising attention among the medical community regarding DSWI.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Prior to any infectious disease emergence as a public health concern, early occupational preparedness is crucial for protecting employees from novel pathogens- coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is no different. AIMS This study ascertains how occupational safety and health (OSH)/Human Resource (HR) professionals in the Republic of Ireland had managed to prepare their workplaces prior to the advent of COVID-19. METHODS As part of a larger COVID-19 workplace study, online focus groups were conducted with OSH/HR professionals. Collected data were transcribed verbatim and entered into NVivo for thematic analysis incorporating intercoder reliability testing. RESULTS Fifteen focus groups were conducted with OSH/HR professionals (n = 60) from various occupational settings. Three levels of organizational preparedness were identified: 'early awareness and preparation'; 'unaware and not ready' and 'aware, but not ready'. Most organizations were aware of the COVID-19 severity, but not fully prepared for the pandemic, especially stand-alone enterprises that may not have sufficient resources to cope with an unanticipated crisis. The experiences shared by OSH professionals illustrate their agility in applying risk management and control skills to unanticipated public/occupational health crises that arise. CONCLUSIONS General pandemic preparedness such as the availability of work-from-home policies, emergency scenario planning and prior experience in workplace outbreaks of infectious diseases were helpful for workplace-associated COVID-19 prevention. This is the first study conducted with OSH/HR professionals in Ireland regarding COVID-19 preparedness in workplaces, which provides valuable insights into research literature, as well as empirical experience for the preparation of future public health emergencies.

[PMID: 38286256 DOI: 10.1016/j.yexcr.2024.113945] [Citation(s) in RCA: 0] [Impact Index Per Article: 0] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [Key Words] [MESH Headings] [Track Full Text] [Journal Information] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Received: 07/26/2023] [Revised: 01/15/2024] [Accepted: 01/21/2024] [Indexed: 01/31/2024]
Abstract
Bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) is the most common chronic lung disease among neonates, with increasing morbidity and mortality. This study aims to investigate the effect and mechanism of lysine demethylase 3A (KDM3A) on hyperoxia-induced BPD. Hyperoxia-induced BPD mouse and alveolar epithelial cell models were constructed. The effects of hyperoxia on lung development were evaluated by histological and morphological analysis. The levels of KDM3A, E26 transformation specific-1 (ETS1), H3 lysine 9 dimethylation (H3K9me2), and endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress-related indexes were quantified by RT-qPCR, Western blot, and IF staining. Cell apoptosis was assessed by flow cytometry and TUNEL staining. Transfection of oe-ETS1, oe-KDM3A, and sh-ETS1 was applied in hyperoxia-induced alveolar epithelial cells to explore the mechanism of the KDM3A/ETS1 axis in hyperoxia-induced apoptosis. KDM3A inhibitor IOX1 was applied to validate the in vivo effect of KDM3A in hyperoxia-induced BPD mice. The results displayed that hyperoxia-induced BPD mice showed reduced body weight, severe destruction of alveolar structure, decreased radial alveolar count (RAC), and increased mean linear intercept (MLI) and mean alveolar diameter (MAD). Further, hyperoxia induction down-regulated ETS1 expression, raised ER stress levels, and increased apoptosis rate in BPD mice and alveolar epithelial cells. However, transfection of oe-ETS1 improved the above changes in hyperoxia-induced alveolar epithelial cells. Moreover, transfection of oe-KDM3A up-regulated ETS1 expression, down-regulated H3K9me2 expression, inhibited ER stress, and reduced apoptosis rate in hyperoxia-induced alveolar epithelial cells. In addition, transfection of sh-ETS1 reversed the inhibitory effect of KDM3A on hyperoxia-induced apoptosis by regulating ER stress. In vivo experiments, KDM3A inhibitor IOX1 intervention further aggravated BPD in newborn mice. In a word, KDM3A alleviated hyperoxia-induced BPD in mice by promoting ETS1 expression.

Abstract
Objectives: To determine the effect of glucose-6-phosphate-dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency on patients' complications and prognosis following allogeneic stem cell hematopoietic transplantation (allo-HSCT) . Methods: 7 patients with G6PD deficiency (study group) who underwent allo-HSCT at Peking University People's Hospital from March 2015 to January 2021 were selected as the study group, and thirty-five patients who underwent allo-HSCT during the same period but did not have G6PD deficiency were randomly selected as the control group in a 1∶5 ratio. Gender, age, underlying diseases, and donors were balanced between the two groups. Collect clinical data from two patient groups and perform a retrospective nested case-control study. Results: The study group consisted of six male patients and one female patient, with a median age of 37 (range, 2-45) years old. The underlying hematologic diseases included acute myeloid leukemia (n=3), acute lymphocytic leukemia (n=2), and severe aplastic anemia (n=2). All 7 G6PD deficiency patients achieved engraftment of neutrophils within 28 days of allo-HSCT, while the engraftment rate of neutrophils was 94.5% in the control group. The median days of platelet engraftment were 21 (6-64) d and 14 (7-70) d (P=0.113). The incidence rates of secondary poor graft function in the study group and control group were 42.9% (3/7) and 8.6% (3/35), respectively (P=0.036). The CMV infection rates were 71.4% (5/7) and 31.4% (11/35), respectively (P=0.049). The incidence rates of hemorrhagic cystitis were 57.1% (4/7) and 8.6% (3/35), respectively (P=0.005), while the bacterial infection rates were 100% (7/7) and 77.1% (27/35), respectively (P=0.070). The infection rates of EBV were 14.3% (1/7) and 14.3% (5/35), respectively (P=1.000), while the incidence of fungal infection was 14.3% (1/7) and 25.7% (9/35), respectively (P=0.497). The rates of post-transplant lymphoproliferative disease (PTLD) were 0% and 5.7%, respectively (P=0.387) . Conclusions: The findings of this study indicate that blood disease patients with G6PD deficiency can tolerate conventional allo-HSCT pretreatment regimens, and granulocytes and platelets can be implanted successfully. However, after transplantation, patients should exercise caution to avoid viral infection, complications of hemorrhagic cystitis, and secondary poor graft function.

Abstract
United States commercial beekeepers prepare honey bee colonies for almond pollination in California each year in late January to early February. This represents the largest managed pollination event in the world and involves more than half of all U.S. honey bee colonies. In winter 2023, numerous colonies in Florida, which were graded as suitable for almonds (larger than ten frames of bees), dwindled suddenly or altogether died within several weeks, just prior to movement for almonds. The timing of these losses and the resulting morbidity caused severe economic harm to affected operations. This study reports interviews with affected stakeholders, their economic harm, and analyses of pathogens and parasites found in their colonies.

Abstract
Dengue fever is an acute mosquito-borne infectious disease caused by dengue virus and widely spread worldwide. Many factors, such as pathogens, vector organisms, climate, and social environment, affect its transmission and prevalence. The local dengue fever epidemic caused by imported cases in China shows a trend of increasing epidemic latitude and more widespread epidemic areas. However, the traditional monitoring and early warning models of dengue fever mainly focus on researching a single factor and a single area. Establishing a multi-factor forecast and early warning system is urgent to strengthen the early warning capability for the dengue fever epidemic. This paper mainly discusses the epidemic characteristics, the influencing factors, and the surveillance and early warning models of dengue fever in China to provide a reference for the effective prevention and control of dengue fever in China.

Abstract
Objective: To assess the effectiveness of a 6-month Ba Duan Jin exercise program in improving the balance of community-dwelling older adults. Methods: A two arms, parallel-group, cluster randomized controlled trial was conducted in 1 028 community residents aged 60-80 years in 40 communities in 5 provinces of China. Participants in the intervention group (20 communities, 523 people) received Ba Duan Jin exercise 5 days/week, 1 hour/day for 6 months, and three times of falls prevention health education, and the control group (20 communities, 505 people) received falls prevention health education same as the intervention group. The Berg balance scale (BBS) score was the leading outcome indicator, and the secondary outcome indicators included the length of time of standing on one foot (with eyes open and closed), standing in a tandem stance (with eyes open and closed), the closed circle test, and the timed up to test. Results: A total of 1 028 participants were included in the final analysis, including 731 women (71.11%) and 297 men (28.89%), and the age was (69.87±5.67) years. After the 3-month intervention, compared with the baseline data, the BBS score of the intervention group was significantly higher than the control group by 3.05 (95%CI: 2.23-3.88) points (P<0.001). After the 6-month intervention, compared with the baseline data, the BBS score of the intervention group was significantly higher than the control group by 4.70 (95%CI: 4.03-5.37) points (P<0.001). Ba Duan Jin showed significant improvement (P<0.05) in all secondary outcomes after 6 months of exercise in the intervention group compared with the control group. Conclusions: This study showed that Ba Duan Jin exercise can improve balance in community-dwelling older adults aged 60-80. The longer the exercise time, the better the improvement.

Abstract
The first search for scalar leptoquarks produced in τ-lepton-quark collisions is presented. It is based on a set of proton-proton collision data recorded with the CMS detector at the LHC at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 138 fb^{-1}. The reconstructed final state consists of a jet, significant missing transverse momentum, and a τ lepton reconstructed through its hadronic or leptonic decays. Limits are set on the product of the leptoquark production cross section and branching fraction and interpreted as exclusions in the plane of the leptoquark mass and the leptoquark-τ-quark coupling strength.

Abstract
Many childhood cancer survivors are suffering serious and long-lasting complications or sequelae, taking a significant toll on their health. Adequate physical activity can be effective in mitigating the negative effects of these complications or sequelae. However, low levels of physical activity are prevalent among childhood cancer survivors. Due to the lack of guidelines on physical activity for childhood cancer survivors, there are many difficulties in correctly guiding childhood cancer survivors to participate in physical activity. Therefore, it is necessary to summarize the relevant studies on the physical activity of childhood cancer survivors. This article provides a review of the concept and measurement of physical activity, recommended amount, and the participation of childhood cancer survivors both domestically and internationally, in order to provide a reference for promoting the physical activity level of Chinese childhood cancer survivors.

Abstract
Insufficient delivery of therapeutic agents into solid tumors by systemic administration remains a major challenge in cancer treatment. Secreted protein acidic and rich in cysteine (SPARC) has high binding affinity to albumin and has been shown to enhance the penetration and uptake of albumin-based drug carriers in tumors. Here, we developed a strategy to alter the tumor microenvironment (TME) by upregulating SPARC to enhance the delivery efficiency of albumin-based drug carriers into tumors. We prepared albumin nanoparticles encapsulating an NF-κB controllable CRISPR activation system (SP-NPs). SP-NPs achieved tumor-selective SPARC upregulation by responding to the highly activated NF-κB in tumor cells. Whereas a single dose of SP-NPs only modestly upregulated SPARC expression, serial administration of SP-NPs created a positive feedback loop that induced progressive increases in SPARC expression as well as tumor cell uptake and tumor penetration of the nanoparticles in vitro, in organoids, and in subcutaneous tumors in vivo. Additionally, pre-treatment with SP-NPs significantly enhanced the anti-tumor efficacy of Abraxane, a commercialized albumin-bound paclitaxel nanoformulation. Our data provide evidence that modulating SPARC in the TME can enhance the efficiency of albumin-based drug delivery to solid tumors, which may result in new strategies to increase the efficacy of nanoparticle-based cancer drugs.

Abstract
Importance Understanding the long-term axial elongation trajectory in high myopia is important to prevent blindness. Objective To evaluate axial elongation trajectories and related visual outcomes in children and adults with high myopia. Design, Setting, and Participants In this cohort study, participants in the Zhongshan Ophthalmic Centre-Brien Holden Vision Institute high myopia cohort were followed up every other year for 8 years. Participants with axial length measurements at baseline (2011 or 2012) and at least 1 follow-up visit were included. Participants were grouped according to baseline age as children and adolescents (7 to <18 years), young adults (18 to <40 years), and older adults (≥40 to 70 years). Data were analyzed from November 1, 2022, to June 1, 2023. Exposure High myopia (spherical power ≤-6.00 diopters). Main Outcomes and Measures Longitudinal axial elongation trajectories were identified by cluster analysis. Axial elongation rates were calculated by linear mixed-effects models. A 2-sided P < .05 was defined as statistically significant. Results A total of 793 participants (median [range] age, 17.8 [6.8-69.7] years; 418 females [52.7%]) and 1586 eyes were included in the analyses. Mean axial elongation rates were 0.46 mm/y (95% CI, 0.44-0.48 mm/y) for children and adolescents, 0.07 mm/y (95% CI, 0.06-0.09 mm/y) for young adults, and 0.13 mm/y (95% CI, 0.07-0.19 mm/y) for older adults. Cluster analysis identified 3 axial elongation trajectories, with the stable, moderate, and rapid progression trajectories having mean axial elongation rates of 0.02 mm/y (95% CI, 0.01-0.02 mm/y), 0.12 mm/y (95% CI, 0.11-0.13 mm/y), and 0.38 mm/y (95% CI, 0.35-0.42 mm/y), respectively. At 8 years of follow-up, compared with the stable progression trajectory, the rapid progression trajectory was associated with a 6.92 times higher risk of developing pathological myopic macular degeneration (defined as diffuse or patchy chorioretinal atrophy or macular atrophy; odds ratio, 6.92 [95% CI, 1.07-44.60]; P = .04), and it was associated with a 0.032 logMAR decrease in best-corrected visual acuity (β = 0.032 [95% CI, 0.001-0.063]; P = .04). Conclusions and Relevance The findings of this 8-year follow-up study suggest that axial length in high myopia continues to increase from childhood to late adulthood following 3 distinct trajectories. At 8 years of follow-up, the rapid progression trajectory was associated with a higher risk of developing pathological myopic macular degeneration and poorer best-corrected visual acuity compared with the stable progression trajectory. These distinct axial elongation trajectories could prove valuable for early identification and intervention for high-risk individuals.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to compare the difference between proximal femoral bionic nail (PFBN) and hip replacement (HR) for femoral intertrochanteric fracture. MATERIALS AND METHODS A retrospective analysis of the differences in operative time, length of stay, postoperative Harris score, and postoperative mortality between patients with femoral intertrochanteric fracture treated by PFBN and HR admitted to Jinzhai County People's Hospital from October 2020 to September 2022 was performed. RESULTS A total of 56 patients with femoral intertrochanteric fracture, 26 with PFBN and 30 with HR, were included in the study. There were no differences in the length of surgery, pre- and post-operative hemoglobin, or post-operative Harris score at 3 months between the two groups. Compared to the HR group, the PFBN group had a lower total cost, shorter hospital stays, and lower mortality but a longer ambulation time, with a difference of 3.36 weeks. CONCLUSIONS PFBN may be a promising new treatment for femoral intertrochanteric fracture.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Esophageal tuberculosis (ET) is a rare form of infectious esophagitis. Here, we present a case of primary ET in an immunocompetent patient with dysphagia. CASE PRESENTATION Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) revealed a submucosal tumor (SMT)-like lesion in the distal esophagus. Subsequent endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) showed ulceration, esophageal wall discontinuities, thickening, and hypoechoic masses. Histopathological analysis confirmed a tuberculoid granuloma within the lesion. Imaging studies ruled out pulmonary tuberculosis and lymph node involvement. The patient received six months of antituberculosis treatment, resulting in significant improvement on follow-up EGD. DISCUSSION ET is often misdiagnosed due to its rarity and nonspecific symptoms. In this case, the clinical presentation of dysphagia, combined with the characteristic findings on EGD and EUS, led to the diagnosis of primary esophageal tuberculosis. CONCLUSION Prompt consideration of ET in dysphagia patients with SMT-like lesions and timely initiation of appropriate antituberculosis treatment can improve clinical outcomes and help avoid unnecessary surgeries.

Abstract
A search for dark matter in events with a displaced nonresonant muon pair and missing transverse momentum is presented. The analysis is performed using an integrated luminosity of 138 fb^{-1} of proton-proton (pp) collision data at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV produced by the LHC in 2016-2018. No significant excess over the predicted backgrounds is observed. Upper limits are set on the product of the inelastic dark matter production cross section σ(pp→A^{'}→χ_{1}χ_{2}) and the decay branching fraction B(χ_{2}→χ_{1}μ^{+}μ^{-}), where A^{'} is a dark photon and χ_{1} and χ_{2} are states in the dark sector with near mass degeneracy. This is the first dedicated collider search for inelastic dark matter.

Abstract
We present the first search for heavy neutral leptons (HNLs) decaying into νe^{+}e^{-} or νπ^{0} final states in a liquid-argon time projection chamber using data collected with the MicroBooNE detector. The data were recorded synchronously with the NuMI neutrino beam from Fermilab's main injector corresponding to a total exposure of 7.01×10^{20} protons on target. We set upper limits at the 90% confidence level on the mixing parameter |U_{μ4}|^{2} in the mass ranges 10≤m_{HNL}≤150 MeV for the νe^{+}e^{-} channel and 150≤m_{HNL}≤245 MeV for the νπ^{0} channel, assuming |U_{e4}|^{2}=|U_{τ4}|^{2}=0. These limits represent the most stringent constraints in the mass range 35

Abstract
Objective: To elucidate the epidemiological characteristics and changing trends of liver failure in order to provide evidence-based strategies for prevention and treatment. Methods: The epidemiological information of inpatients with liver failure admitted and treated at Beijing You'an Hospital from 2012 to 2021 was retrospectively collected. The trend test was used to analyze age, gender, as well as the year-by-year changes in the underlying acute and chronic etiology of acute liver failure (ALF), sub-acute liver failure (SALF), acute-on-chronic liver failure (ACLF), and chronic liver failure (CLF). Results: During the study period, information on a total of 8512 inpatients, aged 51.3±13.5 years and mainly male (71.9%) with liver failure, was collected. The highest to lowest proportions of liver failure types were ACLF 4 023 (47.3%), CLF 3 571(42.0%), SALF 670 (7.9%), and ALF 248 (2.9%). The top five causes of liver failure in the overall population, accounting for 87.6% of the total, were hepatitis B 3 199 (37.58%), alcoholic liver disease 2 237 (26.28%), cryptogenic liver disease 906(10.61%), hepatitis B + alcoholic liver disease 603 (7.08%), drugs 488 (5.73%), The top three etiologies of patients with different types of liver failure were acute etiologies for acute liver failure (ALF), followed by drugs 107 (43.1%), hepatitis B 47(19.0%), and unknown etiology 36 (14.5%); sub-acute liver failure (SALF), followed by drugs 381(56.9%), unknown etiology 106 (15.8%), and sepsis 56 (8.4%); and acute-on-chronic liver failure (ACLF), followed by drugs 2 092(52.0%), alcoholic liver disease 813(20.2%), and cryptogenic liver disease 398(9.9%); and chronic etiologies for chronic liver failure (CLF), followed by alcoholic liver disease 1 410(39.5%), hepatitis B 1 028(28.8%), and cryptogenic liver disease 364(10.2%). Longitudinal analysis showed that the average age of patients with liver failure increased year by year, but the sex ratio trend did not change significantly, with male patients predominating throughout. The proportion of drug-induced liver failure in patients with ALF and SALF increased year by year, and the difference in the trend test was statistically significant (P < 0.05). The proportion of patients with chronic etiologies of ACLF and CLF decreased year by year among hepatitis B, while the proportion of alcoholic liver disease, autoimmune liver disease, and cryptogenic liver disease increased year by year (the difference was statistically significant, P < 0.05). Conclusion: The etiological spectrum of liver failure is changing in our country. Although hepatitis B is still the main cause of liver failure, its proportion shows a decreasing trend year by year, with the exception of ACLF, which is no longer the primary etiology of other types of liver failure, while drug-induced liver disease, alcoholic liver disease, autoimmune liver disease, and cryptogenic liver disease are increasing year by year and will become the focus of liver disease prevention and treatment in the future.

Abstract
USDA-ARS Bee Research Laboratory received symptomatic honey bee (Apis mellifera L.) samples across the United States for disease diagnosis. Here, we present a retrospective study and cartography of ectoparasite Varroa destructor and intracellular microsporidia parasite Nosema spp. These two major parasites were identified in the diseased honey bee samples between 2015 and 2022. Varroa infestation level (VIL) was examined by a wash technique (Mites/100 bees) and calculated as a percentage, while Nosema infection was quantified by microscopical spore count (Million Spores/Bee). Data were analyzed by month, year, state, and by nine geographical climate regions described in the U.S. Of adult bee samples (n = 4039) that were analyzed for Varroa mite infestation, the overall VIL in the U.S. ranged between 0.4 and 30.85%, with an overall national VIL and Varroa prevalence of 8.21% and 85.14%, respectively. Overall monthly data showed VIL constantly exceeded the critical level of 4% except from June to September and reached a maximum of 15% in January and December. Nationwide, VIL significantly (p < 0.001) increased from 2015 to 2018 (1.1-4.7%), plateaued from 2018 to 2021 (4.7-4.5%), followed by a significant decrease in 2022 (3.6%). Significant VIL differences (p < 0.001) were recorded among climate regions, with the highest mite infestation levels in the Upper Midwest region (13.9%) and the lowest in the West region (5.1%). Of adult bee samples (n = 2,994) that were analyzed for Nosema infection, Nosema spore count ranged between (1-16.8) million spores per bee among states, with a national average of 6.8 and a prevalence of 99.7%. The lowest and highest Nosema loads were respectively recorded in the South region (3.1) and Upper Midwest (10.5), a significant difference (p < 0.001). No statistical differences were recorded among the six other climate regions. Overall, VIL and Nosema infection correlated significantly (p < 0.001) with a regression coefficient of (R2 = 0.6). Our data, which originated from ailing bee colonies, showed significantly higher rates of maladies compared to data from healthy colonies obtained by the USDA-APHIS National Honey Bee Survey, demonstrating the role of bee diseases caused by Varroa mite and Nosema in honey bee population declines.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Acute lung injury (ALI) is a serious complication that may accompany severe pneumonia in children. Derived from exosomes of human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell exosome (HucMSC-Exo) can contribute to the regeneration of damaged lung tissue. This study aims to investigate the impact of HucMSC-Exo on ALI and its potential mechanisms. METHODS Firstly, RT-qPCR was performed to assess the expression of miR-335-5p. Subsequently, Pearson correlation analysis was performed to examine the correlation between METTL14 and miR-335-5p, as well as the correlation between METTL14 and ITGB4., while RNA immunoprecipitation (RIP) was used to determine the m6A modification level of ITGβ4. Additionally, molecular biology techniques were employed to evaluate the expression of glycolysis-related factors. Definitively, an LPS-induced ALI model was established to investigate the effect of miR-335-5p on mice lung tissue. RESULTS miR-335-5p was found to be highly expressed in HucMSC-Exo. Transfection with miR-335-5p mimics resulted in increased glucose uptake. Pearson correlation analysis revealed a negative correlation between METTL14 and miR-335-5p, as well as between METTL14 and ITGβ4. The m6A level of ITGβ4 was elevated in ALI. Overexpression of METTL14 was found to reduce the expression and glucose uptake of ITGβ4, while overexpression of ITGβ4 reversed the effects of METTL14 overexpression. in vivo, results demonstrated that miR-335-5p can improve the extent of lung tissue lesions and reduce glycolytic levels. CONCLUSION This study reveals the mechanism by which miR-335-5p derived from HucMSC-Exo could alleviate LPS-induced ALI by regulating the m6A modification of ITGβ4, providing a new direction for the treatment of ALI.

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the efficacy and prognostic factors of allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) in patients with secondary acute myeloid leukemia (sAML) . Methods: In this multicenter, retrospective clinical study, adult patients aged ≥18 years who underwent allo-HSCT for sAML at four centers of the Zhejiang Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation Collaborative Group from January 2014 to November 2022 were included, and the efficacy and prognostic factors of allo-HSCT were analyzed. Results: A total of 95 patients were enrolled; 66 (69.5%) had myelodysplastic syndrome-acute myeloid leukemia (MDS-AML) , 4 (4.2%) had MDS/MPN-AML, and 25 (26.3%) had therapy-related AML (tAML) . The 3-year CIR, LFS, and overall survival (OS) rates were 18.6% (95% CI 10.2%-27.0%) , 70.6% (95% CI 60.8%-80.4%) , and 73.3% (95% CI 63.9%-82.7%) , respectively. The 3-year CIRs of the M-AML group (including MDS-AML and MDS/MPN-AML) and the tAML group were 20.0% and 16.4%, respectively (P=0.430) . The 3-year LFSs were 68.3% and 75.4%, respectively (P=0.176) . The 3-year OS rates were 69.7% and 75.4%, respectively (P=0.233) . The 3-year CIRs of the groups with and without TP53 mutations were 60.0% and 13.7%, respectively (P=0.003) ; the 3-year LFSs were 20.0% and 76.5%, respectively (P=0.002) ; and the 3-year OS rates were 40.0% and 77.6%, respectively (P=0.002) . According to European LeukmiaNet 2022 (ELN2022) risk stratification, the 3-year CIRs of patients in the low-, intermediate-, and high-risk groups were 8.3%, 17.8%, and 22.6%, respectively (P=0.639) . The three-year LFSs were 91.7%, 69.5%, and 65.6%, respectively (P=0.268) . The 3-year OS rates were 91.7%, 71.4%, and 70.1%, respectively (P=0.314) . Multivariate analysis revealed that advanced disease at allo-HSCT and TP53 mutations were independent risk factors for CIR, LFS, and OS. Conclusion: There was no significant difference in the prognosis of patients who underwent allo-HSCT among the MDS-AML, MDS/MPN-AML, and tAML groups. Advanced disease at transplantation and TP53 mutations were poor prognostic factors. ELN2022 risk stratification had limited value for predicting the prognosis of patients with sAML following allo-HSCT.

Abstract
Objective: To analyze the clinical characteristics and outcomes of patients with invasive fungal sinusitis (invasive fungal rhinosinusitis, IFR) after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) and explored the risk factors for IFR after allo-HSCT. Methods: Nineteen patients with IFR after allo-HSCT at Peking University People's Hospital from January 2012 to December 2021 were selected as the study group, and 95 patients without IFR after allo-HSCT during this period were randomly selected as the control group (1:5 ratio) . Results: Nineteen patients, including 10 males and 9 females, had IFR after allo-HSCT. The median age was 36 (10-59) years. The median IFR onset time was 68 (9-880) days after allo-HSCT. There were seven patients with acute myeloid leukemia, five with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, two with myelodysplastic syndrome, two with chronic myeloid leukemia, one with acute mixed-cell leukemia, one with multiple myeloma, and one with T-lymphoblastic lymph node tumor. There were 13 confirmed cases and 6 clinically diagnosed cases. The responsible fungus was Mucor in two cases, Rhizopus in four, Aspergillus in four, and Candida in three. Five patients received combined treatment comprising amphotericin B and posaconazole, one patient received combined treatment comprising voriconazole and posaconazole, nine patients received voriconazole, and four patients received amphotericin B. In addition to antifungal treatment, 10 patients underwent surgery. After antifungal treatment and surgery, 15 patients achieved a response, including 13 patients with a complete response and 2 patients with a partial response. Multivariate analysis revealed that neutropenia before transplantation (P=0.021) , hemorrhagic cystitis after transplantation (P=0.012) , delayed platelet engraftment (P=0.008) , and lower transplant mononuclear cell count (P=0.012) were independent risk factors for IFR after allo-HSCT. The 5-year overall survival rates in the IFR and control groups after transplantation were 29.00%±0.12% and 91.00%±0.03%, respectively (P<0.01) . Conclusion: Although IFR is rare, it is associated with poor outcomes in patients undergoing allo-HSCT. The combination of antifungal treatment and surgery might be effective.

Abstract
This Letter reports the observation of WZγ production and a measurement of its cross section using 140.1±1.2 fb^{-1} of proton-proton collision data recorded at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV by the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. The WZγ production cross section, with both the W and Z bosons decaying leptonically, pp→WZγ→ℓ^{'}^{±}νℓ^{+}ℓ^{-}γ (ℓ^{(^{'})}=e, μ), is measured in a fiducial phase-space region defined such that the leptons and the photon have high transverse momentum and the photon is isolated. The cross section is found to be 2.01±0.30(stat)±0.16(syst) fb. The corresponding standard model predicted cross section calculated at next-to-leading order in perturbative quantum chromodynamics and at leading order in the electroweak coupling constant is 1.50±0.06 fb. The observed significance of the WZγ signal is 6.3σ, compared with an expected significance of 5.0σ.

Abstract
Fe2O3-loaded NiFe2O4 nanoblocks were successfully developed under a straightforward one-step hydrothermal synthesis method, aiming to detect trace amounts of n-butanol at the parts per billion (ppb) concentration range. The synthesized samples were comprehensively characterized using various techniques, including XRD, SEM, XPS, TEM and SAED. At a tantalizingly low temperature of 130 °C, the Ni/Fe-2 gas sensor demonstrated the optimum response (Ra/Rg = 29.747 @ 10 ppm) to n-butanol. Furthermore, Ni/Fe-2 sensor exhibited remarkable stability and reproducibility and an ultra-low detection limit. The enhanced gas sensitivity was primarily due to the assembly of Ni/Fe-2 nanoblocks from differently sized nanospheres, which exhibited a rich surface porosity conducive to gas adsorption. Besides, the formation of heterojunctions and the augmentation of oxygen vacancy content are also conducive to enhancing gas sensing capabilities. The Ni/Fe-2 sensor is expected to successfully detect trace amounts of n-butanol.
