Search for Rare Decays of D^{0} Mesons into Two Muons. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2023; 131:041804. Abstract
A search for the very rare D^{0}→μ^{+}μ^{-} decay is performed using data collected by the LHCb experiment in proton-proton collisions at sqrt[s]=7, 8, and 13 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9 fb^{-1}. The search is optimized for D^{0} mesons from D^{*+}→D^{0}π^{+} decays but is also sensitive to D^{0} mesons from other sources. No evidence for an excess of events over the expected background is observed. An upper limit on the branching fraction of this decay is set at B(D^{0}→μ^{+}μ^{-})<3.1×10^{-9} at a 90% C.L. This represents the world's most stringent limit, constraining models of physics beyond the standard model.

Abstract
BACKGROUND As an "off-target" effect, cephalosporins can enhance glutamate transporter-1 expression in astrocytes to recycle glutamate from synaptic cleft, and exhibited analgesic properties in animals and humans with chronic pain. METHODS In the present study, we focused on making a side-by-side comparison of the analgesic potentials of cefadroxil and ceftriaxone, using rodent models of peripheral neuropathic pain, inflammatory pain and incisional pain. Microdialysis technique was adopted to validate the in vivo glutamate regulatory properties of these two drugs in central nervous system. RESULTS We have shown that cefadroxil and ceftriaxone are beneficial in a variety of pain scenarios, without inducing observable side effects. The two cephalosporins worked better on neuropathic pain, rather than inflammatory pain or incisional pain, suggesting nociceptive system was differentially affected. Further, microdialysis has confirmed that cephalosporins can effectively reverse the elevated levels of glutamate in brain of animals with neuropathic pain. CONCLUSIONS The outcome of this study may guide us to identify a molecular skeleton derived from cefadroxil, based on which we could possibly develop new non-antibiotic analgesic compounds with glutamate recycling properties.

Abstract
An amplitude analysis of B^{-}→J/ψΛp[over ¯] decays is performed using 4400 signal candidates selected on a data sample of pp collisions recorded at center-of-mass energies of 7, 8, and 13 TeV with the LHCb detector, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9 fb^{-1}. A narrow resonance in the J/ψΛ system, consistent with a pentaquark candidate with strangeness, is observed with high significance. The mass and the width of this new state are measured to be 4338.2±0.7±0.4 MeV and 7.0±1.2±1.3 MeV, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. The spin is determined to be 1/2 and negative parity is preferred. Because of the small Q-value of the reaction, the most precise single measurement of the B^{-} mass to date, 5279.44±0.05±0.07 MeV, is obtained.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the correlation of stress-inducible phosphoprotein 1 (STIP1) expression level with prognosis of different cancers and its potential role in immunotherapy. METHODS TCGA, TARGET and GTEx databases were used for bioinformatic analysis of STIP1 expression level and its prognostic value in different cancers. We also detected STIP1 expression immunohistochemically in 10 pairs of colorectal cancer and adjacent tissues. We further analyzed the correlation of STIP1 expression level with tumor mutational burden, microsatellite instability, immune cell infiltration, immune regulators and outcomes of different cancers. STIP1- related proteins were identified using protein- protein interaction (PPI) network analysis, and functional enrichment analysis was performed to analyze the regulatory pathways involving STIP1. RESULTS Bioinformatics analysis showed that STIP1 was highly expressed in most tumors compared with the normal tissues (P < 0.05), which was confirmed by immunohistochemistry of the 10 pairs of colorectal cancer tissues. STIP1 expression level was correlated with clinical stages of multiple cancers (P < 0.05), and in some cancer types, an upregulated STIP1 expression was correlated with a poor prognosis of the patients in terms of overall survival, disease-specific survival, disease-free survival and progression-free survival (P < 0.05). STIP1 expression was significantly correlated with tumor mutational burden, microsatellite instability, immune cell infiltration and immunomodulatory factors in most tumors (P < 0.05). PPI network analysis indicated that STIP1-related proteins included HSPA4, HSPA8, and HSP90AA1. KEGG enrichment analysis suggested that the high expression of STIP1 in liver cancer was related mainly with valerate metabolism, tryptophan metabolism, and butyrate metabolism pathways; HALLMARK enrichment analysis suggested high STIP1 expression in liver cancer was involved in bile acid and fatty acid metabolism. CONCLUSION STIP1 is up-regulated in multiple cancer types and its expression level is correlated with clinical tumor stage, tumor mutational burden, microsatellite instability, immune cell infiltration and immunomodulatory factors.

An analysis of clinical characteristics and prognosis of endometrioid ovarian cancer based on the SEER database and two centers in China. BMC Cancer 2023; 23:608. [PMID: 37391693 DOI: 10.1186/s12885-023-11048-1] [Citation(s) in RCA: 0] [Impact Index Per Article: 0] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [Key Words] [Grants] [Track Full Text] [Journal Information] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Received: 08/21/2022] [Accepted: 06/08/2023] [Indexed: 07/02/2023] Open
Abstract
PURPOSE To assess the clinical characteristics and the risk factors related to the unfavorable prognosis of endometrioid ovarian carcinoma (EOVC) based on data from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database and two clinical centers in China. METHODS Data were extracted from the SEER database and two clinical centers in China (2010 ~ 2021), 884 cases and 87 patients with EOVC were selected, respectively. Overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) were compared among the different groups using Kaplan-Meier analysis. The Cox proportional-hazards model was used to identify independent prognostic factors related to EOVC. A nomogram was constructed based on the risk factors of the SEER database affecting prognosis and the discrimination and calibration of the nomogram were evaluated by C-index and calibration curves. RESULTS The average age at diagnosis of patients with EOVC in the SEER database and two centers in China was 55.77 ± 12.40 years and 47.14 ± 11.50 years, 84.7% and 66.6% of them were diagnosed at FIGO stage I ~ II, respectively. In the SEER database, age over 70 years, advanced FIGO stage, tumor grade 3, only unilateral salpingo-oophorectomy were independent risk factors of unfavorable prognosis. In two clinical centers in China, 27.6% of EOVC patients were diagnosed with synchronous endometriosis. Advanced FIGO stage, HE4 > 179 pmol/L and bilateral ovarian involvement significantly correlated with poor OS and PFS in Kaplan-Meier analysis. Body mass index (BMI) < 19.34 kg/m2 was an independent risk factor relating to OS and PFS. Additionally, C-index of internal and external verification for the nomogram were 0.812 and 0.754 respectively, revealing good accuracy and clinical applicability. CONCLUSIONS Most patients were diagnosed at early stage, low grade and had better prognosis. Asian/Pacific Islander and Chinese diagnosed with EOVC were more likely to be younger than whites and blacks. Age, tumor grade and FIGO stage (SEER database) and BMI (two centers) are independent prognostic factors. HE4 appears to be more valuable in prognostic assessment compared with CA125. The nomogram had good discrimination and calibration for predicting prognosis, providing a convenient and reliable tool for clinical decision-making for patients with EOVC.

Abstract
Na metal anode is one of most promising anode materials for next-generation secondary batteries. However, the practical application of Na anode is limited by dendritic growth, rapid volume change, and serious interface problems in the process of Na electroplating/stripping, resulting in low coulombic efficiency, short life, and safety issues of sodium metal batteries (SMBs). Herein, the cyclic instability mechanisms of the Na anode and the corresponding advanced protection strategies including in situ solid-electrolyte-interphase (SEI), artificial SEI, and three-dimensional conductive frame, are systematically reviewed. Notably, this review summarizes the latest research progress on interface modification and electrode modification of all-solid-state SMBs. Finally, the outlooks of anode interphase in SMBs are summarized and prospected, providing a promising way for high-energy and safe SMBs.

Abstract
Since its verification in 2019, there have been numerous high-profile papers reporting improved efficiency of lithium-mediated electrochemical nitrogen reduction to make ammonia. However, the literature lacks any coherent investigation systematically linking bulk electrolyte properties to electrochemical performance and Solid Electrolyte Interphase (SEI) properties. In this study, we discover that the salt concentration has a remarkable effect on electrolyte stability: at concentrations of 0.6 M LiClO4 and above the electrode potential is stable for at least 12 hours at an applied current density of -2 mA cm-2 at ambient temperature and pressure. Conversely, at the lower concentrations explored in prior studies, the potential required to maintain a given N2 reduction current increased by 8 V within a period of 1 hour under the same conditions. The behaviour is linked more coordination of the salt anion and cation with increasing salt concentration in the electrolyte observed via Raman spectroscopy. Time of flight secondary ion mass spectrometry and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy reveal a more inorganic, and therefore more stable, SEI layer is formed with increasing salt concentration. A drop in faradaic efficiency for nitrogen reduction is seen at concentrations higher than 0.6 M LiClO4, which is attributed to a combination of a decrease in nitrogen solubility and diffusivity as well as increased SEI conductivity as measured by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy.

Abstract
Chronic pain and drug addiction seriously threaten human health and generate a large loss of labor. Most highly addictive drugs are derived from opioids, which have severe side effects and are difficult to quit completely. On the other hand, opioid analgesics are widely used in detoxification for opioid addiction. These opioids are effective for controlling acute withdrawal symptoms, but can be problematic under long-term usage as maintenance therapy. Both chronic pain and opioid abuse are related to neurotransmitters and central reward pathways in the brain. As to provide new weapons for defending human health, this article summarized the similarities and differences between chronic pain and opioid addiction, based on their common neurobiological basis, and discussed the breakthroughs in targeted therapeutic approaches. Furthermore, we have brought out an innovative and integrative therapeutic scheme by combining drugs, medical devices, and phycological / behavioral therapies, according to the patient's individual situation, aiming at achieving better effects against these two types of diseases.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the efficacy and side effects of additional postoperative steroid therapy for type 3 BA versus the current routine care. SUMMARY BACKGROUND DATA Whether steroid therapy post-Kasai portoen-terostomy improves the outcomes of BA remains controversial. Clinical evidence from 2 randomized trials in the UK and USA do not support the routine use of steroid in the treatment of BA. METHODS In this open-label randomized controlled trial, patients with type 3 BA were randomized to routine postoperative treatment with or without 10 to 12 weeks of adjuvant steroid treatment. The primary outcome was the postoperative jaundice clearance rate with native liver at 6 months. The secondary outcomes included postoperative jaundice clearance rate at 3, 12, and 24 months, survival with native liver at 12 and 24 months, and SAEs within 3 months. RESULTS Overall, 200 participants were randomized and allocated into either steroid or control group (n = 100/group). The proportion of participants that are jaundice free without liver transplantation was significantly higher in the steroid group than in the control group at 6 months (54.1% vs 31.0%, P = 0.0015). The native liver survival rate was higher postoperatively in the steroid group than in the control group at 12 (66.3% vs 50.0%, P = 0.02) and 24 (57.1% vs 40.0%, P = 0.02) months. The survival time with native liver was significantly longer in the steroid group than in the control group (median survival, steroid vs control: not reached vs 1.21 years, P = 0.02). There were no significant differences between the 2 groups in the mean occurrence of SAEs within 3 months (steroid vs control: 0.63 vs 0.45, P = 0.20). CONCLUSIONS Postoperative adjuvant steroid intervention improved bile drainage and survival with native liver in type 3 BA patients, without increasing early-stage SAEs.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Ovarian clear cell carcinoma (OCCC) is a challenging disease due to its intrinsic chemoresistance. Immunotherapy is an emerging treatment option but currently impeded by insufficient understanding of OCCC immunophenotypes and their molecular determinants. METHODS Whole-genome sequencing on 23 pathologically confirmed patients was employed to depict the genomic profile of primary OCCCs. APOBEC3B expression and digital pathology-based Immunoscore were assessed by performing immunohistochemistry and correlated with clinical outcomes. RESULTS An APOBEC-positive (APOBEC+) subtype was identified based on the characteristic mutational signature and prevalent kataegis events. APOBEC + OCCC displayed favourable prognosis across one internal and two external patient cohorts. The improved outcome was ascribable to increased lymphocytic infiltration. Similar phenomena of APOBEC3B expression and T-cell accumulation were observed in endometriotic tissues, suggesting that APOBEC-induced mutagenesis and immunogenicity could occur early during OCCC pathogenesis. Corroborating these results, a case report was presented for an APOBEC + patient demonstrating inflamed tumour microenvironment and clinical response to immune checkpoint blockade. CONCLUSIONS Our findings implicate APOBEC3B as a novel mechanism of OCCC stratification with prognostic value and as a potential predictive biomarker that may inform immunotherapeutic opportunities.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the effects and mechanism of annexin A1 (ANXA1)-overexpressing human adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells (AMSCs) in the treatment of mice with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). Methods: The experimental study method was adopted. After the adult AMSCs were identified by flow cytometry, the 3rd passage cells were selected for the follow-up experiments. According to the random number table (the same grouping method below), the cells were divided into ANXA1-overexpressing group transfected with plasmid containing RNA sequences of ANXA1 gene and no-load control group transfected with the corresponding no-load plasmid. The other cells were divided into ANXA1-knockdown group transfected with plasmid containing small interfering RNA sequences of ANXA1 gene and no-load control group transfected with the corresponding no-load plasmid. At post transfection hour (PTH) 72, the fluorescence expression was observed under a fluorescence microscope imaging system, and the protein and mRNA expressions of ANXA1 were detected by Western blotting and real-time fluorescence quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction respectively (with the sample numbers being 3). Fifty male C57BL/6J mice aged 6-8 weeks were divided into sham injury group, ARDS alone group, normal cell group, ANXA1-overexpressing group, and ANXA1-knockdown group, with 10 mice in each group. Mice in the last 4 groups were treated with endotoxin/lipopolysaccharide to make ARDS lung injury model, and mice in sham injury group were simulated to cause false injury. Immediately after injury, mice in sham injury group and ARDS alone group were injected with normal saline through the tail vein, while mice in normal cell group, ANXA1-overexpressing group, and ANXA1-knockdown group were injected with normal AMSCs, ANXA1-overexpressing AMSCs, and ANXA1-knockdown AMSCs, correspondingly. At post injection hour (PIH) 24, 5 mice in each group were selected, the Evans blue staining was performed to observe the gross staining of the right lung tissue, and the absorbance value of bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) supernatant of left lung was detected by microplate reader to evaluate the pulmonary vascular permeability. Three days after injection, the remaining 5 mice in each group were taken, the right lung tissue was collected for hematoxylin-eosin staining to observe the pathological changes and immunohistochemical staining to observe the CD11b and F4/80 positive macrophages, and the levels of tumor necrosis factor α (TNF-α), interleukin-6 (IL-6), and IL-1β in BALF supernatant of left lung were determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Data were statistically analyzed with paired sample t test, one-way analysis of variance, and least significant difference test. Results: At PTH 72, AMSCs in both ANXA1-overexpressing group and ANXA1-knockdown group expressed higher fluorescence intensity than AMSCs in corresponding no-load control group, respectively. At PTH 72, compared with those in corresponding no-load control group, the protein and mRNA expressions of ANXA1 in ANXA1-overexpressing group were significantly increased (wth t values of 249.80 and 6.56, respectively, P<0.05), while the protein and mRNA expressions of ANXA1 in ANXA1-knockdown group were significantly decreased (wth t values of 176.50 and 18.18, respectively, P<0.05). At PIH 24, compared with those in sham injury group (with the absorbance value of BALF supernatant being 0.041±0.009), the lung tissue of mice in ARDS alone group was obviously blue-stained and the absorbance value of BALF supernatant (0.126±0.022) was significantly increased (P<0.05). Compared with those in ARDS alone group, the degree of blue-staining in lung tissue of mice was significantly reduced in normal cell group or ANXA1-overexpressing group, and the absorbance values of BALF supernatant (0.095±0.020 and 0.069±0.015) were significantly decreased (P<0.05), but the degree of blue-staining in lung tissue and the absorbance value of BALF supernatant (0.109±0.016, P>0.05) of mice in ANXA1-knockdown group had no significant change. Compared with that in normal cell group, the absorbance value of BALF supernatant of mice in ANXA1-overexpressing group was significantly decreased (P<0.05). Three days after injection, the lung tissue structure of mice in ARDS alone group was significantly damaged compared with that in sham injury group. Compared with those in ARDS alone group, hemorrhage, infiltration of inflammatory cells, alveolar collapse, and interstitial widening in the lung tissue of mice were significantly alleviated in normal cell group and ANXA1-overexpressing group, while no significant improvement of above-mentioned lung tissue manifestation was observed in ANXA1-knockdown group. Three days after injection, the numbers of CD11b and F4/80 positive macrophages in the lung tissue of mice in ARDS alone group were significantly increased compared with those in sham injury group. Compared with those in ARDS alone group, the numbers of CD11b and F4/80 positive macrophages in lung tissue of mice in normal cell group, ANXA1-overexpressing group, and ANXA1-knockdown group reduced, with the most significant reduction in ANXA1-overexpressing group. Three days after injection, compared with those in sham injury group, the levels of TNF-α, IL-6, and IL-1β in BALF supernatant of mice in ARDS alone group were significantly increased (P<0.05). Compared with those in ARDS alone group, the levels of TNF-α, IL-6, and IL-1β in BALF supernatant of mice in normal cell group and ANXA1-overexpressing group, as well as the level of IL-1β in BALF supernatant of mice in ANXA1-knockdown group were significantly decreased (P<0.05). Compared with that in normal cell group, the level of TNF-α in BALF supernatant of mice was significantly decreased in ANXA1-overexpressing group (P<0.05) but significantly increased in ANXA1-knockdown group (P<0.05). Conclusions: Overexpression of ANXA1 can optimize the efficacy of AMSCs in treating ARDS and enhance the effects of these cells in inhibiting inflammatory response and improving pulmonary vascular permeability, thereby alleviating lung injury of mice with ARDS.

Abstract
ETHNOPHARMACOLOGICAL RELEVANCE Yi-Shen-Hua-Shi (YSHS) granule is an effective prescription widely used in traditional Chinese medicine to treat diabetic kidney disease (DKD), its exact efficacy in treating DKD has been confirmed but the underlying regulatory mechanism has not been fully elucidated. AIM OF THE STUDY To explore the mechanism by which YSHS granule regulates intestinal flora and serum metabolites and then regulates renal mRNA expression through the "gut-kidney axis", so as to improve DKD. MATERIALS AND METHODS 40 rats were divided into five groups: Normal group (N) (normal saline), model group (M) (STZ + normal saline), YSHS granule low-dose group (YL) (STZ + 2.27 g kg-1 d-1), YSHS granule high-dose group (YH) (STZ + 5.54g kg-1 d-1) and valsartan group (V) (STZ + 7.38mg kg-1 d-1). After 6 weeks, changes in blood glucose, blood lipids, and renal function related indexes were observed, as well as pathological changes in the kidney and colon. Intestinal microbiota was sequenced by 16S rDNA, serum differential metabolites were identified by LC-MS/MS, and renal differences in mRNA expression were observed by RNA-seq. Further, through the association analysis of intestinal differential microbiota, serum differential metabolites and kidney differential mRNAs, the target flora, target metabolites and target genes of YSHS granule were screened and verified, and the "gut-metabolism-transcription" co-expression network was constructed. RESULTS In group M, blood glucose, blood lipid and proteinuria were increased, inflammation, oxidative stress and renal function were aggravated, with the proliferation of mesangial matrix, vacuolar degeneration of renal tubules, accumulation of collagen and lipid, and increased intestinal permeability, and YSHS granule and valsartan improved these disorders to varying degrees. High dose of YSHS granule improved the diversity and abundance of flora, decreased the F/B value, greatly increased the abundance of Lactobacillus and Lactobacillus_murinus, and decreased the abundance of Prevoella UCG_001. 14 target metabolites of YSHS granule were identified, which were mainly enriched in 20 KEGG pathways, such as Glycerophospholipid metabolism, Sphingolipid metabolism and Phenylalanine, tyrosine and tryptophan biosynthesis. 96 target mRNAs of YSHS granule were also identified. The enriched top 20 pathways were closely related to glucose and lipid metabolism, of which a total of 21 differential mRNAs were expressed. Further correlation analysis revealed that Lactobacillus, Lactobacillus_murinus and Prevotella UCG_001 were highly correlated with Glycerophospholipid metabolism, Sphingolipid metabolism and Phenylalanine, tyrosine and tryptophan biosynthesis pathways. At the same time, 6 pathways including Glycerophospholipid metabolism, Arachidonic acid metabolism, Purine metabolism, Primary bile acid biosynthesis, Ascorbate and aldarate metabolism and Galactose metabolism were co-enriched by the target metabolites and the target mRNAs of YSHS granule, including 7 differential metabolites such as phosphatidylethanolamine and 7 differential genes such as Adcy3. The 7 differential metabolites had high predictive value of AUC, and the validation of 7 differential genes were highly consistent with the sequencing results. CONCLUSION YSHS granule could improve DKD through the "gut-kidney axis". Lactobacillus and Lactobacillus_murinus were the main driving forces. 6 pathways related to glucose and lipid metabolism, especially Glycerophospholipid metabolism, may be an important follow-up response and regulatory mechanism.

Abstract
Metal anodes with the merits of high theoretical capacity and low electrochemical potential are promising candidates for the construction of high-energy-density rechargeable secondary batteries. However, metal anodes with high chemical reactivity are likely to react with traditional liquid electrolytes, leading to the growth of dendrites, side reactions, and even safety issues. In this case, metal plating/stripping electrochemistry is associated with an enhanced ion transfer rate and homogeneous ion distribution on the metal surface. Herein, functional organic material (FOM)-based interfacial engineering on metal anodes is systematically presented, focusing on the effects of forming uniform solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) layer, homogenizing ion flux, accelerating ion transport, etc. This main content addresses the advances of FOMs in terms of SEI modification, 3D skeleton construction, and gel/solid-state electrolytes in multiple metal batteries, providing in-depth insights into the exploration of high-performance metal batteries. Moreover, other applications and outlooks for FOMs are further summarized, paying potential ways for the practical applications of FOM-based rechargeable secondary batteries.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The aim was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of duloxetine for postoperative recovery after total knee arthroplasty. METHODS The following electronic databases were searched for eligible trials: PubMed, EMBASE, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, VIP, Wanfang Data, and China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI). The search was performed from the inception dates to 10 August 2022. Data extraction and quality assessment were performed by two independent reviewers. Standard mean differences or mean differences with 95% CIs for pooled data were calculated. The primary outcomes were pain, physical function, and analgesic consumption. Secondary outcomes included range of motion (ROM) of the knee, depression, and mental health. RESULTS This meta-analysis included 11 studies, reporting on a total of 1019 patients. Results of analyses indicated that duloxetine showed a statistically significant reduction in pain at rest at 3 days, 1 week, 2, and 6 weeks and pain on movement at 5 days, 1 week, 2, 4, 6, and 8 weeks. However, there was no statistical significance in pain at rest and on movement at 24 h, 12 weeks, 6 months, and 12 months. Additionally, duloxetine had a significant improvement in physical function, ROM of the knee at 6 weeks, and emotional function (depression and mental health). Moreover, the cumulative opioid consumption at 24 h in the duloxetine groups was lower than in the control groups. But there was no statistical significance for the cumulative opioid consumption over 7 days between the duloxetine groups and controls. CONCLUSIONS In conclusion, duloxetine might reduce pain mainly over a time span of 3 days-8 weeks and lower cumulative opioid consumption within 24 h. In addition, it improved physical function, ROM of the knee with a time span of 1-6 weeks and emotional function (depression and mental health).

Abstract
Klebsiella pneumoniae is one of the leading pathogens contributing to antimicrobial resistance. The emergence of carbapenem-resistant K. pneumoniae (CRKP) has put the use of clinical antimicrobial agents in a dilemma. In particular, CRKP exhibiting resistance to ceftazidime/avibactam, tigecycline and colistin have raised great clinical concern, as these are the last-resort antibiotics for the treatment of CRKP infections. Within-host evolution is a survival strategy closely related to the emergence of antimicrobial resistance, while little attention has been paid to the in vivo genetic process of conversion from antibiotic-susceptible to resistant K. pneumoniae. Here we have a literature review regarding the in vivo evolution of resistance to carbapenems, ceftazidime/avibactam, tigecycline, and colistin in K. pneumoniae during antibacterial therapy, and summarized the detailed resistance mechanisms. In general, acquiring blaKPC and blaNDM harboring-plasmid, specific mutations in blaKPC, and porin genes, such as ompK35 and ompK36, upregulation of blaKPC, contribute to the development of carbapenem and ceftazidime/avibactam resistance in vivo. Overexpression of efflux pumps, acquiring plasmid-carrying tet (A) variants, and ribosomal protein change can lead to the adaptive evolution of tigecycline resistance. Specific mutations in chromosomes result in the cationic substitution of the phosphate groups of lipid A, thus contributing to colistin resistance. The resistant plasmid might be acquired from the co-infecting or co-colonizing strains, and the internal environment and antibiotic selection pressure contribute to the emergence of resistant mutants. The internal environment within the human host could serve as an important source of resistant K. pneumoniae strains.

Abstract
1ReH•Cl, a highly robust and antiaromatic rhenium(I) complex of triarylrosarin, is synthesized. The 1H NMR spectrum of 1ReH•Cl shows upfield-shifted pyrrole protons and highly downfield-shifted inner protons that confirm its antiaromatic nature, with density functional theory calculations strongly supporting this interpretation. Antiaromatic 1ReH•Cl absorbs from the UV to near-IR region of the optical spectrum; cyclic voltammetry, thin-layer UV-vis spectroelectrochemistry, and spin-density distributions clearly reveal that the rosarin backbone of 1ReH•Cl undergoes redox chemistry. The X-ray structure of 1ReH•Cl shows a fully coordinated and protonated inner cavity that effectively prevents proton-coupled electron transfer when treated with an acid. A remarkably negative NICS(0) value, clockwise anisotropy of the induced current density ring current, and the aromatic shielded inner cavity in the 2D ICSS(0) map reveal that the T1 state of 1ReH•Cl is aromatic based on Baird's rule.

Abstract
Electroreduction of nitrate to ammonia, instead of N2, is beneficial toward pollution control and value-added chemical production. Metallic catalysts have been developed for enhancing ammonia evolution efficiency from nitrate based on the crystalline state of the catalyst. However, the development of amorphous metallic catalysts with more active sites is still unexplored. Herein, a highly distributed amorphous Cu catalyst exhibiting an outstanding ammonia yield rate of 1.42 mol h-1 g-1 and Faradaic efficiency of 95.7%, much superior to crystallized Cu, is demonstrated for nitrate-reduction to ammonia. Experimental and computational results reveal that amorphizing Cu increases the number of catalytic sites, enhances the NO3- adsorption strength with flat adsorption configurations, and facilitates the potential determining step of *NO protonation to *NHO. The amorphous Cu catalyst shows good electrochemical stability at - 0.3 V, while crystallization weakens the activity at a more negative potential. This study confirms the crystallinity-activity relationship of amorphous catalysts and unveils their potential-limited electrochemical stability.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION MicroRNAs have been shown to play a role in the pathogenesis of apical periodontitis. Upregulation of miR-10a-5p and downregulation of miR-891a-5p were previously reported in apical periodontitis samples. This study aims to perform a functional characterization of miR-10a-5p, investigating its capacity to regulate the expression of inflammatory cytokines and growth factors, as well as a possible co-regulation mechanism with miR-891a-5p in the development of apical periodontitis. METHODS miR-10a-5p mimics/controls and miR-891a-5p inhibitors/controls were introduced to human K-562 cells in the presence or absence of lipopolysaccharide. Total RNA was extracted from cell lysates, and target genes were examined via quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction. Cell lysates were also subjected to proteomics analysis. Furthermore, mimics of miR-10a-5p and inhibitors of miR-891a-5p were co-transfected into K-562 cells. RNA sequencing and quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction were carried out to examine their target genes. RESULTS Overexpression of miR-10a-5p led to downregulation of tumor necrosis factor-alpha and interleukin-1 beta mRNA and upregulation of transforming growth factor-beta 1 (TGFB1) mRNA expression, whereas interleukin 3 and TGF-β1 proteins were upregulated. Simultaneous overexpression of miR-10a-5p and inhibition of miR-891a-5p further increased TGFB1 mRNA transcript levels. RNA sequencing revealed that genes co-regulated by miR-10a-5p and miR-891a-5p may be involved in apical periodontitis-related pathways such as tumor necrosis factor, transient receptor potential, and vascular endothelial growth factor signaling pathways. CONCLUSIONS miR-10a-5p may modulate the expression of multiple inflammatory cytokines and growth factors such as tumor necrosis factor-alpha, IL-1β, interleukin 3, and TGF-β1. In addition, miR-10a-5p and miR-891a-5p cooperatively regulate TGFB1 gene expression, and the gene network of this co-regulation is integrated with many pathways in apical periodontitis.

Abstract
It is essential to create organic compounds that exhibit circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) in the near-infrared (NIR) range. Helicene-type emitters possess appealing chiroptical features, however, such NIR molecules are scarce due to a paucity of synthetic strategies. Herein, we developed a series of helical β-isoindigo-based B-O-B bridged aza-BODIPY analogs that were synthesized conveniently. The reaction of diimino-β-isoindigo with a heteroaromatic amine produced a restricted ligand cavity, which triggered off the generation of a B-O-B bridge. The B-O-B bridge led to distorted conformations that satisfy the helical requirements, resulting in excellent spectroscopic and chiroptical properties. Tunable CPL with the highest luminescence dissymmetry factor (glum ) of 1.3×10-3 and a CPL brightness (BCPL =11.5 M-1 cm-1 ) in the NIR region was achieved. This synthetic approach is expected to offer a new opportunity to chiral chemistry and increase flexibility for chiroptical tuning.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Thyroid carcinoma (THCA) is a malignant endocrine tumor all around the world, which is influenced by genetic and environmental factors. OBJECTIVE To explore the association between TPO rs2048722, PTCSC2 rs925489, SEMA4G rs4919510 polymorphisms and THCA susceptibility in Chinese population. METHODS We recruited 365 THCA patients and 498 normal controls for the study. Logistic regression analysis was used to evaluate the association between TPO rs2048722, PTCSC2 rs925489, SEMA4G rs4919510 polymorphisms and THCA susceptibility. MDR was used to assess the genetic interactions among the three SNPs. RESULTS Overall analysis demonstrated that rs925489 of PTCSC2 was evidently associated with increased risk of THCA in multiple genetic models (OR = 1.59, 95%CI = 1.12-2.24, p = 0.009). The results of stratified analysis illustrated that rs2048722 of TPO can significantly increase the THCA susceptibility of participants less than or equal to 44 years old and smokers. Similarly, rs925489 of PTCSC2 obviously improved the risk of THCA among participants older than 44 years, males, smokers and drinkers. However, rs4919510 of SEMA4G has a protective effect on the development of THCA among participants with less than or equal to 44 years old and non-drinkers. Interestingly, there was a strong genetic interaction among the three SNPs in the occurrence of THCA risk. CONCLUSION TPO rs2048722, PTCSC2 rs925489 and SEMA4G rs4919510 polymorphisms were evidently associated with the risk of THCA in the Chinese population, which was affected by age, gender, smoking and drinking consumption.
