Abstract
The authors report two cases of primary non-Hodgkin's malignant lymphoma of the bladder. In contra with secondary site, which are not rare, primary malignant lymphomas of the bladder wall are exceptional. Urinary symptoms are varied and nonspecific. These tumours cannot be distinguished from other bladder tumours on the basis of their radiological or endoscopic appearance. Only histology provides the diagnosis. The pathophysiological hypotheses are discussed. Treatment is mainly based on chemotherapy. Endoscopic drainage procedures are sometimes useful, as in one of the reported cases.

Abstract
PURPOSE To evaluate the clinical, angiographic, and cytopathologic features of ocular and central nervous system (CNS) lymphoma. PATIENTS AND METHODS Retrospective study of 44 patients over a 10-year period. RESULTS A total of 36 women and six men, mean age 54 years (range: 36-90 years), were included. The mean time interval between onset of ocular symptoms and diagnosis was 40 months (range: 1-144 months). Ocular involvement was bilateral in 84% of the cases. Laser flare photometry readings averaged 9.6 photons/ms (2.9-78.3 photons/ms). Vitritis was constant. Funduscopy revealed RPE abnormalities in 60.49% of the cases and punctuate retinal infiltrates in 33.5%. The most common findings with fluorescein angiography were window defects and hypofluorescent round lesions. Patients had CNS involvement in 66% of the cases. Cytologic examination of the vitreous samples showed high-grade B lymphoma in 86% of the cases. Interleukin-10 dosage, when performed, showed elevated levels averaging 2352 pg/ml in all vitreous samples. Molecular biology based on PCR confirmed the diagnosis in 12 patients. Treatment included systemic chemotherapy alone or associated with radiotherapy in various regimens. Fourteen patients died during follow-up. Only 12 patients were in complete remission. CONCLUSION The prognosis of the disease remains poor. However, the new diagnostic tools and therapeutic strategies may improve the diagnostic delay and the survival outcome.

Abstract
A dose-escalation study was realized in order to assess the maximally tolerated dose (MTD) of high-dose mitoxantrone in a single injection combined with cytarabine and etoposide (EMA regimen) in refractory or relapsed acute myelogenous leukemia (AML). Between July 1997 and June 1998, 24 patients with relapsed or refractory AML entered the study. All but one patient had normal left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) at baseline. Performance status according to World Health Organization (WHO) criteria was less than two in all cases. All patients have been previously treated by mitoxantrone or anthracyclines. Four cohort of ten patients were scheduled with the following doses: (1) mitoxantrone 36 mg/m2 on day 1; (2) mitoxantrone 45 mg/m2 on day 1; (3) mitoxantrone 60 mg/m2 on day 1; (4) mitoxantrone 75 mg/m2 on day 1 in combination with cytarabine 500 mg/m2 per day (days 1-3, and days 8-10), and etoposide 200 mg/m2 per day (days 8-10). All patients received the full doses of the three drugs. The limiting toxicity was defined as WHO grade 4 nonhematologic toxicity and for impairment of cardiac function by Alexander's criteria (moderate or severe toxicity). The occurrence of limiting toxicity in at least three patients from the same dose level determined the MDT. No limiting toxicity was observed in mitoxantrone dose level 1. Two limiting toxicities were observed in mitoxantrone dose level 2 (one mucositis, one moderate cardiac toxicity), and three limiting toxicities in mitoxantrone dose level 3 (1 high transaminase levels, two moderate cardiac toxicities) ending the assay. Overall, 16 patients (67%) achieved complete remission (CR). One drug-addict patient died from cerebral hemorrhage due to severe aspergillosis and was not considered as a limiting toxicity. After EMA chemotherapy, 13 patients received subsequent chemotherapy courses involving anthracyclines or their derivatives. Six patients underwent allogeneic bone marrow transplantation. No late toxicity occurred. The median survival of the entire cohort was 41.4 weeks. We conclude that (i) EMA chemotherapy using a single injection of mitoxantrone is effective in the treatment of refractory or relapsing AML; (ii) the recommended phase II dose of mitoxantrone is 45 mg/m2 administered over 30 min as a single dose in combination with cytarabine and etoposide.

Abstract
The cases of two patients with chronic myelomonocytic leukaemia associated with periarteritis nodosa-like, antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody negative, systemic vasculitis, are reported. A 61 year old man was admitted with fever, diffuse myalgia, and abdominal pain. Blood and bone marrow examination showed chronic myelomonocytic leukaemia. Vasculitis of the gall bladder was responsible for acalculous cholecystitis. A massive spontaneous bilateral perirenal haemorrhage occurred. A 73 year old woman with chronic myelomonocytic leukaemia had been followed up for one year when unexplained fever occurred. Two months after the onset of fever, sudden abdominal pain was ascribed to spontaneous bilateral renal haematoma related to bilateral renal arterial aneurysms. Neuromuscular biopsy showed non-necrotising periarteriolar inflammation. To our knowledge, systemic vasculitis has never been reported in chronic myelomonocytic leukaemia. In our two cases a non-random association is suggested because (a) chronic myelomonocytic leukaemia is a rare myelodysplastic syndrome, (b) spontaneous bilateral perirenal haematoma is not a usual feature of periarteritis nodosa.

Abstract
BACKGROUND B-lymphoproliferative post-transplant disorder (BLPD) is a severe complication of organ and bone marrow transplantation. The reduction of immuno-suppressive therapy or surgery for localized disease may cure some BLPDs. Other therapeutic approaches such as chemotherapy and antiviral drugs are toxic and of limited efficacy. Adoptive immunotherapy with donor T-cell infusions has yielded promising results but is, at the present time, easily applicable only in bone marrow-transplanted patients. Anti-B-cell Murine monoclonal antibodies (MoAbs) have proven effective but are no longer available for human use. We report the activity of a humanized anti CD 20 Mo Ab (Rituximab-MABTHERA Roche) in 32 episodes of BLPD treated in 14 French centers. PATIENTS AND METHODS Between November 1997 and September 1998, 32 patients were diagnosed with BLPD. Twenty-six patients had undergone solid organ transplants (liver 8, kidney 8, heart 4, lung 3, heart lung 1, kidney-pancreas 1, liver-kidney 1) and six patients had received bone marrow transplantations. The median age of the patients was 34 years (3-67 years) and the median delay between graft and tumor 5 months (1-156 months). In organ recipients, tumors were classified as polymorphic and monomorphic in 10 and 15 cases, respectively; 4 of 6 bone marrow transplant recipients were treated without pathology documentation because of a rise in EBV load, fever and lymph node enlargement. Tumors were associated with EBV in 22 of 26 tested cases. Rituximab was used as first-line therapy in 30 patients (after reduction of immunosuppressive treatment in 27 patients) and as salvage therapy in 2 patients (after failure of chemotherapy). The median time from diagnosis of BLPD to treatment with Rituximab was 14 days (1-110 days). Two patients received eight infusions, twenty-six patients four infusions, one patient three infusions and three patients two infusions of 375 mg/m2. RESULTS The tolerance of rituximab was good. The overall response rate was 69%, with 20 complete responses and 2 partial responses. In solid organ transplant the response rate was 65% (15 CR and 2 PR) while it was 83% in bone marrow-transplanted patients (5 CR). With a median follow-up of 8 months (1-16 months) 24 patients are still alive. The one-year projected survival is 73%. Of the 22 patients who achieved response, 15 patients (11 solid organ transplant and 4 bone marrow transplant) are alive with no evidence of disease, 4 patients relapsed a median of 7 months (3-10 months) after treatment and 3 died while in CR of concurrent diseases. Of the 10 patients who did not respond to Rituximab 5 are alive with no evidence of disease after salvage therapy. CONCLUSIONS The use of rituximab appears to be a safe and relatively efficient therapy in BLPDs. The results need to be confirmed in a prospective multicentric trial.

Abstract
We describe the results of autologous haematopoietic stem-cell transplantation in eight patients with HIV-1-associated lymphoma. Collection and grafting of stem cells is feasible and this treatment seems appropriate in chemotherapy-sensitive HIV-1-associated lymphoma.

Abstract
Cell-extracellular matrix interactions, regulated in part by beta1-integrins, play a key role in the recirculation of T lymphocytes and tissue infiltration in inflammatory and immune responses. HIV infection may affect CD4+ T cell adhesion, and the trafficking and migration of these cells, which are crucial for foreign antigen recognition. We investigated this by studying the expression of the beta1-integrin chains CD29 and CD49c, -d, -e, and -f, on in vitro HIV-infected primary T cells. We also assessed fibronectin binding and production by CD4+ lymphocytes. X4 (HIV-1/LAI), R5 (HIV-1/Ba-L), and X4R5 (HIV-2/ROD) strains, and X4R5 primary isolates (HIV-1/DAS, HIV-1/THI), with different cytopathogenicity and replication kinetics, were used. Beta1-integrin expression on CD4+ and CD4- T cell subpopulations was regulated by cell activation with phytohemagglutinin-P and interleukin 2, but was unaffected by HIV infection, even at the peak of viral replication and CD4+ cell depletion. Similarly, fibronectin binding to CD4+ lymphocytes was not affected by HIV infection. This suggests that infected lymphocytes may be able to extravasate, migrate, and recirculate within the body until their death.

Abstract
BACKGROUND/AIMS Post-transplant lymphoproliferative disorders (PT-LPD) are a well-known complication of organ transplantation. Their incidence after liver transplantation in adults ranges from 1.8 to 4%. Reduction of immunosuppression led to remission in a few cases. Other treatments include chemotherapy, interferon alpha therapy and/or intravenous-immunoglobulins, or antiviral drugs. However, monoclonal antibodies directed against B-cell specific antigens have rarely been used in those patients. Our aim was to study the feasibility and efficacy of Rituximab, a new, promising human chimeric antibody that recognizes the CD20 antigen, for the treatment of patients with clonal lymphoproliferative disorders after orthotopic liver transplantation. METHODS Rituximab (IDEC-C2HB8; Roche Laboratories, Neuilly-sur-Seine, France) was administered at a 375 mg/m2 dose on days 1, 8, 15, and 22, in an outpatient setting, in three patients with PT-LPD. The tumor was classified as polymorphic PT-LPD in two cases and PT-LPD with features of large cell lymphoma in one case. All the tumors expressed the CD20 antigen and were EBV-related, and the clonality was confirmed in all three cases. The 4 injections of the anti-CD20 monoclonal antibody were associated with reduced immunosuppression in the three patient. RESULTS The treatment with Rituximab was well tolerated without any side effects. The two patients with polymorphic PT-LPDs underwent rapid complete remission, whereas the treatment modalities were ineffective in the patient with the large-cell non-Hodgkin-lymphoma. CONCLUSION These results must be confirmed in a larger cohort of liver transplant recipients suffering from lymphoproliferation. However, they indicate rapid efficiency of Rituximab in association with reduced immunosuppression in these disorders.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Despite high-dose therapy and ASCT some patients with aggressive HD fail to achieve long-term survival. PATIENTS AND METHODS Forty-three patients with induction failure (n = 19) or very unfavorable (UF) relapse (n = 24) from HD were included in a multicentric study of tandem ASCT. They planned to receive two course of IVA75 with GCSF and blood stem cell collection. ASCT1 was conditioned with CBV + mitoxantrone (30 mg/m2) and ASCT2 (cytarabine 6 g/m2 melphalan 140 mg/m2 and total body irradiation at 12 Gy or busulfan 16 (n = 4) than 12 mg/kg). After salvage therapy, response > 50% was observed in 63% of the patients (six patients were included for refractory relapse). Four patients had no ASCT for disease progression; seven patients had only ASCT1 (disease progression, n = 3) and thirty-two patients (74%) received the two ASCT. RESULTS Hematologic recovery was normal after ASCT1 but delayed platelet recovery was observed after ASCT2 with busulfan in the conditioning regimen. Two VOD with one fatal occurred with busulfan at 16 mg/kg and one hemorrhagic cystic, no further grade 4 toxicity was observed with the reduced doses of busulfan (12 mg/kg). After ASCT2, 83% of these UF patients were in remission and 20% relapsed within the first year. On an intent-to-treat analysis, 22 of 43 patients are in continuous CR (including 8 patients with induction failure). For the whole population (n = 43) and for patients receiving the two ASCT (n = 32), the two-year survival from the date of progression were respectively at 65% and at 74%. CONCLUSION Double ASCT is feasible in very UF relapse from HD and may lead to some prolonged remission.

Abstract
The EMA86 study showed efficacy of intensive sequential chemotherapy with mitoxantrone, 12 mg/m2 day on days 1-3, etoposide, 200 mg/m2/day as a continuous infusion on days 8-10 and cytarabine (araC), 500 mg/m2/day as continuous infusion on days 1-3 and 8-10 (EMA regimen) in previously treated patients with AML. The goal of the EMA91 study was to determine whether administration of GM-CSF between the two sequences of EMA chemotherapy and during the second sequence could increase therapeutic efficacy by potentially increasing leukemic cell recruitment into the S phase of cell cycle before the second sequence. One hundred and ninety-two patients aged less than 65 years with previously treated AML received GM-CSF, 5 microg/kg/day or placebo from day 4 to day 8 of EMA chemotherapy. One hundred and twenty were refractory and 72 were in first relapse after a complete remission (CR) of more than 6 months duration. CR rates after one course of chemotherapy were 65% in the GM-CSF group (refractory: 51%; first relapse: 89%), not significantly different from the 59% CR rate (refractory: 46%; first relapse: 81%) in the placebo group. Median time to recovery of neutrophils was 38 and 37 days and median time to last platelet transfusion 32 and 32 days respectively in the GM-CSF and placebo groups. WHO grade > or = 3 non-hematologic toxicities were mainly sepsis (45% and 51%, respectively) and mucositis (34% and 31%) and did not differ between the two groups. Toxic death rate was 5% and 8%, respectively, in the GM-CSF and placebo groups. Patients achieving CR were scheduled to receive six courses of maintenance with reduced-dose EMA. Time to progression tended to be longer in the GM-CSF group (median 154 vs 115 days, progression-free rate at 18 months 33% vs 19%, P = 0.08), particularly in refractory patients (P = 0.06). However, at the current follow-up, this did not translate into a significantly longer disease-free survival and survival. Cell cycle studies showed increased recruitment of cells in the S phase between day 4 and day 8 in the GM-CSF group compared to placebo (P = 0.006). However, this did not significantly relate to prognosis in this cohort of patients. GM-CSF might marginally increase efficacy of sequential chemotherapy without increasing its toxicity in the absence of any detected relationship between this effect and observed leukemic cell recruitment into the cell cycle.

Abstract
Since 1990 we have treated 60 patients with standard-dose fludarabine for chronic lymphocytic leukemia (B-CLL), on a compassionate basis. Three patients developed grade IV neurologic complications after treatment, with demyelination of white matter on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in patient # 1, diffuse demyelination, abnormal oligodendroglia and enlarged astrocytes at brain biopsy in patient no 2, and progressive multifocal leukoencephalitis (PML) with JC virus on brain biopsy in patient # 3. The neurotoxicity of fludarabine was often observed after administration of high doses (90-120 mg/m2). At standard doses (18-25 mg/m2) neurologic complications were observed in very few cases (0.2%). PML was observed in only 0.52% of patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), particularly those with advanced CLL. Our findings are consistent with the results of published studies and show an increase in neurologic complications in patients with advanced CLL treated with fludarabine. This increased vulnerability is probably multifactorial, but may be secondary to the immunodeficiency.

Abstract
This study was designed to assess the results of protracted courses of ESHAP (etoposide, cytarabine, cisplatin, methylprednisolone) therapy followed by intensive chemotherapy and hematopoietic cell transplantation (IC+HCT) for relapsed or refractory non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL). Treatment consisted of 3 cycles of ESHAP; responsive patients (pts) then received 3 more cycles, and IC+HCT was used for pts in maintained partial (PR) or complete (CR) remission after the sixth ESHAP. Sixty-five pts entered the study. At enrollment, 27 pts had bone marrow (BM) and/or central nervous system (CNS) lymphomatous infiltration. Disease status was primary refractory lymphoma in 41 pts (63 %), and relapse in 24 pts (37 %). Results showed that two pts were not evaluable for the therapeutic response because of early treatment-related death. Thirty-nine (62 %) pts entered PR or CR after 3 cycles of ESHAP. Eleven pts subsequently had disease progression. Twenty-eight pts were in persistent CR or PR after 6 cycles of ESHAP. Refractory pts did not show a different response rate to relapsing pts (chi2= 1.73). Five pts were excluded from IC+HCT because of an inadequate graft or treatment-related toxicity. Twenty-three (35 %) pts completed the procedure. Five pts (22 %) relapsed after IC+HCT. The overall survival rate of the 39 responsive pts is 45 % at 60 months, with a median survival time of 30 months. Median survival among the 35 pts in whom second-line chemotherapy failed is 7.1 months, with a 4-year survival rate of 3 %. Despite the poor prognostic features of this group, 45% of pts responding to the first 3 cycles of chemotherapy are in prolonged remission, suggesting that rather than to transplant after just 2 cycles of salvage therapy, pursuing second-line chemotherapy may better discriminate between patients more likely to benefit from a subsequent transplant.

Abstract
Leukemic T-LGL (large granular lymphocyte) composed of clonal CD3+ TCR alphabeta+ CD8+ CD57+ cells were compared with oligoclonally CD3+ CD8hi+ CD57- lymphocytes expanded after BMT. Leukemic CD3+ CD8hi+ CD57+ LGL showed several phenotypic differences such as an upregulation of CD16 and adhesion molecules (mainly CD11c, CD58 and CD54), activation markers and an exclusive CD45RA isoform expression. Unstimulated CD3+ CD8+ CD57+ LGL from both leukemic and BMT donors spontaneously developed an ex vivo CTL-like CD3-redirected cytotoxicity but no NK cell activity. Different stimuli (PHA, PMA or rhIL-2) induced similar cytotoxic profiles after a 6-day culture involving a CD3-redirected lysis predominating over a low NK cell activity. However, culture of leukemic LGL with these stimuli allowed either a 2 week persistence (PMA or rhIL-2) of CD8+ CD57+ LGL or their disappearance after 3 days (PHA). Furthermore, leukemic CD8hi+ CD57+ T lymphocytes produced an inhibitor of cytotoxic functions as previously described for BMT recipients' CD8+ CD57+ cells. Thus, despite some phenotypic differences between both cell sources, leukemic CD57+ T-LGL display the same functional characteristics of cytotoxic effector and immunoregulatory T cells as CD8+ CD57+ T cells from BMT recipients which might represent their normal counterpart.

Abstract
To determine the incidence and outcome of hepatic veno-occlusive disease (VOD) after blood or marrow transplantation (BMT), we prospectively evaluated all consecutive patients receiving a BMT during a 6-month period in participating EBMT centers. All of them were evaluated for occurrence of VOD according to previously defined clinical criteria. The clinical course, outcome, value of prophylactic and therapeutic interventions, and the influence of previously described risk factors were analyzed. During the study period, 1,652 BMT were performed in 73 centers. VOD was diagnosed in 87 patients (5.3%; 95% confidence interval [CI], 4.2% to 6.4%). Fifty-six of 631 allogeneic BMT (8.9%) and 31 of 1,010 autologous BMT (3.1%) developed this complication (P <.0001). VOD was classified as mild in 7 (8%), moderate in 56 (64.4%), and severe in 24 (27.6%) cases. Sixteen patients died of VOD (corresponding to 1% of the whole series, 18.4% of VOD patients, and 66.7% of severe VOD). The use of unfractionated heparin did not significantly decrease the incidence of VOD. Independent variables associated with an increased risk of VOD were allogeneic BMT (relative risk [RR], 2.8; P <.001), pre-BMT elevation of serum aspartate aminotransferase (RR, 2.4; P =.001), high-dose cytoreductive therapy (RR, 2.3; P =.003), Karnofsky performance score less than 90% (RR, 2.7; P =.006), and prior abdominal radiation (RR, 2.9; P =.03). In conclusion, this prospective study shows that (1) the incidence of VOD is lower than that reported in smaller studies from single centers, (2) about one fourth of cases of VOD progress to severe disease, (3) main risk factors have a major impact on incidence of VOD, and (4) the use of prophylactic unfractionated heparin does not seem to reduce the incidence of VOD.

Abstract
Results to date indicate that high-dose therapy (HDT) with autologous stem cell support improves survival of patients with symptomatic multiple myeloma (MM). We performed a multicenter, sequential, randomized trial designed to assess the optimal timing of HDT and autotransplantation. Among 202 enrolled patients who were up to 56 years old, 185 were randomly assigned to receive HDT and peripheral blood stem cell (PBSC) autotransplantation (early HDT group, n = 91) or a conventional-dose chemotherapy (CCT) regimen (late HDT group, n = 94). In the late HDT group, HDT and transplantation were performed as rescue treament, in case of primary resistance to CCT or at relapse in responders. PBSC were collected before randomization, after mobilization by chemotherapy, and, in the two groups, HDT was preceded by three or four treatments with vincristine, doxorubicin, and methylprednisolone. Data were analyzed on an intent-to-treat basis using a sequential design. Within a median follow-up of 58 months, estimated median overall survival (OS) was 64.6 months in the early HDT group and 64 months in the late group. Survival curves were not different (P = .92, log-rank test). Median event-free survival (EFS) was 39 months in the early HDT group whereas median time between randomization and CCT failure was 13 months in the late group. Average time without symptoms, treatment, and treatment toxicity (TWiSTT) were 27.8 months (95% confidence interval [CI]; range, 23.8 to 31.8) and 22.3 months (range, 16.0 to 28.6) in the two groups, respectively. HDT with PBSC transplantation obtained a median OS exceeding 5 years in young patients with symptomatic MM, whether performed early, as first-line therapy, or late, as rescue treatment. Early HDT may be preferred because it is associated with a shorter period of chemotherapy.

Abstract
Given the generally poor outcome of advanced B cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia, experimental approaches are warranted, especially for younger patients in whom classical treatments have failed. We therefore conducted a prospective single-center study, using polychemotherapy (ESHAP) to prepare patients for hematopoietic stem cell collection and autologous stem cell transplantation as consolidation therapy. Twenty patients entered the study. An adequate response to ESHAP was obtained in 13 patients, and sufficient stem cells for grafting were obtained in eight of the 12 patients who underwent the collection procedure. Six of these grafted patients are alive in complete clinical remission a median of 30 months after transplantation. It should be noted that we were only able to graft 40% of the patients enrolled in this study, either because a new remission could not be obtained or because not enough hematopoietic stem cells could be collected. This argues for stem cell collection as soon as a first remission is obtained, even if the autograft is done later in the course of the disease.

Abstract
B-lymphoproliferative disorder (BLPD) is a rare but severe complication of organ and bone marrow transplantation (BMT). Profound cytotoxic T-cell deficiency is thought to allow the outgrowth of Epstein-Barr virus-transformed B cells. When possible, reduction of immunosuppressive treatment or surgery for localized disease may cure BLPD. Therapeutic approaches using chemotherapy or antiviral drugs have limited effects on survival. Adoptive immunotherapy with donor T-cell infusions has given promising results in BMT recipients. We previously reported that administration of two monoclonal anti-B-cell antibodies (anti-CD21 and anti-CD24) could contribute to the control of oligoclonal BLPD. Here we report the long-term results of treatment with these monoclonal anti-B-cell antibodies for cases of severe BLPD. In an open multicenter trial, 58 patients in whom aggressive B-cell lymphoproliferative disorder developed after BMT (n = 27) or organ (n = 31) transplantation received 0.2 mg/kg/d of specific anti-CD21 and anti-CD24 murine monoclonal antibodies (MoAbs) for 10 days. The treatment was well tolerated. Thirty-six of the 59 episodes of BLPD in the 58 patients presented complete remission (61%). The relapse rate was low (3 of 36, 8%). Multivariate analysis identified the following risk factors for partial or no response to anti-B-cell MoAb therapy: multivisceral disease (P </= .005), central nervous system involvement (P </= .05), and late onset of BLPD (P </= .005). The overall long-term survival was 46% (median follow-up, 61 months); it was lower among BMT patients (35%) than organ transplant patients (55%). None of the patients who had received BMT for hematological malignancy survived for 1 year. Eight of these 11 patients presented monoclonal BLPD. Tumor burden was the only other variable that contributed significantly to poor survival. Thus, as assessed from this long-term study, the use of anti-B-cell MoAbs therefore appears to be a safe and relatively effective therapy for severe posttransplant BLPD.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Neutrophilic eccrine hidradentitis is a recently described clinical entity. Most reported cases have occurred in patients given chemotherapy for acute myelogenous leukemia, suggesting a drug induced mechanism. Some authors have considered however that neutrophilic eccrine hidradenitis belongs to the group of neutrophilic dermatoses. CASE REPORT We observed neutrophilic eccrine hidradentitis in a 48-year-old man which developed when he suffered a relapse of acute leukemia. He had not been given chemotherapy in the preceding months. DISCUSSION This case favors the hypothesis that neutrophilic eccrine hidradenitis is associated with myeloid hemotology disorders and not a complications secondary to treatment.
