Abstract
The first study of the angular distribution of μ^{+}μ^{-} pairs produced in the forward rapidity region via the Drell-Yan reaction pp→γ^{*}/Z+X→ℓ^{+}ℓ^{-}+X is presented, using data collected with the LHCb detector at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.1 fb^{-1}. The coefficients of the five leading terms in the angular distribution are determined as a function of the dimuon transverse momentum and rapidity. The results are compared to various theoretical predictions of the Z-boson production mechanism and can also be used to probe transverse-momentum-dependent parton distributions within the proton.

Abstract
Gastric cancer (GC) is a major digestive tract malignancy in China, which seriously threatens the health of Chinese population. A large number of researches have demons-trated that screening, early detection and early treatment are effective in reducing the incidence and mortality of GC. The development of the guideline for GC screening, early detection and early treatment in line with epidemic characteristics of GC in China will greatly promote the homogeneity and standardization, and improve the effect of GC screening. This guideline was commissioned by the Bureau of Disease Control and Prevention of the National Health Commission. The National Cancer Center of China initiated and convened a working group comprising multidisciplinary experts. Following the World Health Organization Handbook for Guideline Development, this guideline combined the most up-to-date evidence of GC screening, China's national conditions, and practical experience in cancer screening. This guideline provided evidence-based recommendations with respect to the screening population, technology and procedure management, aiming to improve the effect of GC screening and provide scientific evidence for the GC prevention and control in China.

Abstract
Objective: To describe the characteristics of molecular transmission network of newly diagnosed HIV-1 infected patients, analyze their risk factors related to network access and provide a scientific basis for precise prevention of HIV infection. Methods: For 340 blood samples collected from confirmed HIV-1 infection cases aged ≥50 years in Pengzhou city of Sichuan province from April 2019 to August 2021, nested PCR amplification was used to amplify, clean up and splice clips the pol gene region. The phylogenetic tree was constructed by multi-sequence comparison to distinguish subtypes, and the pairwise genetic distance was calculated. When the genetic distance threshold was 0.90%, the number of clusters was the largest (41), and the molecular transmission network was constructed. The χ2 test and logistic regression analysis were performed. The software SPSS 19.0 was used for statistical analysis. Results: A total of 340 samples were successfully amplified (97.06%, 330/340) in 330 samples. 6 HIV-1 subtypes identified, including:CRF01_AE(56.67%,187/330), CRF07_BC(27.88%,92/330), B(11.21%,37/330), CRF08_BC(3.33%,11/330), CRF55_01B(0.61%,2/330) and C(0.30%,1/330).The network entry rate was 58.79% (194/330).The results of logistic regression analysis of the risk factors of HIV-1 molecular transmission network in the research subjects showed that compared with illiteracy, junior high school (OR=0.35, 95%CI:0.13-0.97) and high school/technical secondary school (OR=0.14, 95%CI: 0.02-0.97) had lower possibility of network entry. Compared with farmers, unknown occupations (OR=0.40,95%CI: 0.17-0.95) are less likely to enter the network .Compared with CRF01_AE, CRF07_BC (OR=0.20, 95%CI: 0.11-0.35) and CRF08_BC subtype (OR=0.09, 95%CI: 0.02-0.45) were less likely to enter the network. Conclusions: The sources of AIDS transmission among middle-aged and elderly people of rural areas are diversified in Pengzhou city of Sichuan province. AIDS intervention should focus on middle-aged and elderly farmers with low educational level, and strengthen detection and traceability investigation.

Abstract
Objective: In order to provide the precise prevention and control strategy of drug resistance TB in Gansu province, we analyzed the status and risk factors of new drug resistance pulmonary tuberculosis patients. Methods: New pulmonary tuberculosis patients were enrolled from 30 tuberculosis-specialized medical institutions (drug resistance monitoring stations) in Gansu province between first September 2014 to 31th August 2017, and filled in the survey questionnaire. The isolated Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) strains were implemented 10 drugs drug- susceptibility tes, including isoniazid (INH), rifampicin (RFP), ethambutol (EMB), streptomycin (Sm), kanamycin (Km), amikacin (Am), ofloxacin (Ofx), capreomycin (Cm), propithio-iso-nicotinamide (Pto). The risk factors were analyzed by logistic regression model. Results: One patient was corresponding one clinical isolates among 1 815 patients. The rate (95%CI) of total drug-resistance, single drugresistance, multiple drug- resistance, multidrug-resistance and extensively drug-resistant were 25.45% (23.45%-27.46%), 11.40% (9.94%-12.87%),6.23% (5.11%-7.34%), 7.82% (6.59%-9.06%) and 0.28% (0.03%-0.52%) respectively. Among 142 multidrug-resistant TB patients, the farmers, young adults aged 20-59 and low-income group were 90.85%, 62.68% and 31.69%, respectively. The results of univariate and multivariate analysis showed that the male, non-Han, treatment less than 1 month group and treatment less than 1 month and withdrawal less than 2 month group were risk factors of new multidrug-resistant pulmonary TB. Conclusions: Compared with the Chinese national baseline level of TB resistance, the total drug resistance rate of new TB patients in Gansu province was low, but the multidrug-resistance rate was high. The health assistance for rural low-income TB patients was still an important strategy to prevent and control multidrug-resistant in Gansu province. And measures must implement to stop irregular treatment and poor compliance, as the risk factors of multidrug-resistance in new PTB patients.

Abstract
Esophageal cancer (EC) is a major digestive tract malignancy in China, which seriously threatens the health of Chinese population. A large number of researches have demonstrated that screening and early detection are effective in reducing the incidence and mortality of EC. The development of the guideline for EC screening and early detection in line with epidemic characteristics of EC in China will greatly promote the homogeneity and standardization, and improve the effect of EC screening. This guideline was commissioned by the Bureau of Disease Control and Prevention of the National Health Commission. The National Cancer Center of China initiated and convened a working group comprising multidisciplinary experts. Following the World Health Organization Handbook for Guideline Development, this guideline combined the most up-to-date evidence of EC screening, China's national conditions, and practical experience in cancer screening. This guideline provided evidence-based recommendations with respect to the screening population, technology and procedure management, aiming to improve the effect of EC screening and provide scientific evidence for the EC prevention and control in China.

Abstract
Quantum chromodynamics, the theory of the strong force, describes interactions of coloured quarks and gluons and the formation of hadronic matter. Conventional hadronic matter consists of baryons and mesons made of three quarks and quark-antiquark pairs, respectively. Particles with an alternative quark content are known as exotic states. Here a study is reported of an exotic narrow state in the D0D0π+ mass spectrum just below the D*+D0 mass threshold produced in proton-proton collisions collected with the LHCb detector at the Large Hadron Collider. The state is consistent with the ground isoscalar [Formula: see text] tetraquark with a quark content of [Formula: see text] and spin-parity quantum numbers JP = 1+. Study of the DD mass spectra disfavours interpretation of the resonance as the isovector state. The decay structure via intermediate off-shell D*+ mesons is consistent with the observed D0π+ mass distribution. To analyse the mass of the resonance and its coupling to the D*D system, a dedicated model is developed under the assumption of an isoscalar axial-vector [Formula: see text] state decaying to the D*D channel. Using this model, resonance parameters including the pole position, scattering length, effective range and compositeness are determined to reveal important information about the nature of the [Formula: see text] state. In addition, an unexpected dependence of the production rate on track multiplicity is observed.

[The relationship between triglyceride glucose index and risk of cardiovascular disease among Kazakh and Uygur population in Xinjiang: a retrospective cohort analysis]. Abstract
Objective: To analyze whether triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index is associated with increased risk of cardiovascular diseases (CVD) and the value of TyG index in predicting CVD risk among Kazakh and Uighur population of Xinjiang. Methods: In this study, 5 375 Kazakh and Uygur people of Xinyuan county and Jiashi county were selected as the research objects. Subjects were divided into four groups based on the quartile of the TyG index level. Cox regression model was used to analyze the association between TyG index with the risk of CVD. The dose-response relationship between TyG index and CVD risk was described by restricted cubic splines. The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve, net reclassification improvement (NRI), and integrated discrimination improvement (IDI) were used to estimate the value of TyG index for predicting CVD. Mediating effect analysis was conducted to analyze the mediating effect of TyG index in the association between body mass index and CVD. Results: The age of subjects was 41.06(30.11,53.00)years old, with 46.30%(2 489/5 375)was male. After multivariate adjustment, there was an increasing trend between the risk of CVD and the higher TyG index Ptrend<0.001, compared with subjects of TyG index in Q1, the HR (95%CI) of Q2, Q3, and Q4 groups was 1.53, 1.23 and 1.73, respectively. Restricted cubic splines showed that TyG index was the linearly associated with the risk of CVD. TyG index could improve the prediction ability of Framingham model for the risk of CVD (NRI=0.106,P=0.010; IDI=0.003,P=0.030). The mediating effect analysis showed that in the relationship between body mass index and CVD, the TyG index had a mediating effect (P<0.001), and the ratio of mediating effect was 12.69%. Conclusion: TyG index is an independent predictor of CVD risk among kazakh and Uygur population in Xinjiang and has a good predictive value for the risk of CVD.

Abstract
The first full angular analysis and an updated measurement of the decay-rate CP asymmetry of the D^{0}→π^{+}π^{-}μ^{+}μ^{-} and D^{0}→K^{+}K^{-}μ^{+}μ^{-} decays are reported. The analysis uses proton-proton collision data collected with the LHCb detector at center-of-mass energies of 7, 8, and 13 TeV. The dataset corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 9 fb^{-1}. The full set of CP -averaged angular observables and their CP asymmetries are measured as a function of the dimuon invariant mass. The results are consistent with expectations from the standard model and with CP symmetry.

Robotic distal pancreatectomy, a novel standard of care? First benchmark values for surgical outcomes from 14 international expert centers. Br J Surg 2022. [DOI: 10.1093/bjs/znac178.006] [Citation(s) in RCA: 0] [Impact Index Per Article: 0] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [Track Full Text] [Journal Information] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Indexed: 11/14/2022]
Abstract
Abstract
Objective
Robotic distal pancreatectomy (DP) is emerging as the preferred treatment for body and tail tumors of the pancreas. To enable conclusive comparisons with the standard open or laparoscopic approaches and robotic surgery among centers, novel benchmark outcome values are urgently needed. Therefore, the aim of this study was to identify benchmark values from expert centers beyond the learning curve.
Methods
This multicenter study analyzed outcomes from consecutive patients undergoing robotic DP for resectable malignant or benign lesions from 14 international expert centers. After the learning curve, defined as the first 10 cases of robotic DP, all consecutive patients were included from the start of the program up to June 2020 with a minimum follow-up of 1 year. Benchmark patients were those without significant comorbidities including obesity (BMI >35 kg/m2) cardiac disease, chronic pulmonary disease.
Benchmark cutoff values were derived from the 75th or the 25th percentile of the median values of all benchmark centers.
Results
After reaching the learning curve, 289 (47%) of a total of 614 consecutive patients qualified as benchmark cases. The proportion of benchmark patients varied between 24%-64% per center. Benchmark cut-offs showed a low 6 month- postoperative mortality (<0.6%), but high overall morbidity (<58.3%). Benchmark cutoffs for operative time (<300 min), conversion rate (<3%), clinically relevant pancreatic fistulas (<26.9%), CCI at 90-days (<14.8), hospital stay (<7 days) and readmission rate (<22.9%). Benchmark cut-offs for complications remained unchanged after 3 months follow-up. For ductal adenocarcinoma benchmark cutoffs for number of lymph nodes were > 19 with an R0 resection rate of > 85%, and an overall survival of >86% and >52% after 1- and 5-years, respectively. Centers with a low cohort of benchmark patients (more difficult cases) had less clinically relevant pancreatic fistula (9% vs. 23%) and less overall complications (32% vs. 48%).
Conclusion
This benchmark analysis sets novel reference values for robotic DP, indicating favorable outcomes as compared to laparoscopic and open DP. These references values may serve for quality control of surgery in centers embarking in robotic DP, and include the procedure in the standard of care.

EUROPEAN REVIEW FOR MEDICAL AND PHARMACOLOGICAL SCIENCES 2022; 26:3827-3831. Abstract
BACKGROUND Extranodal NK/T-cell lymphoma (ENKTL) is a subtype of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma that accounts for approximately 3-8% of all malignant lymphomas. So far, ENKTL has no standard treatment guidelines, and the current treatment methods pose adverse effects. The combination of programmed death receptors (PD-1) and programmed death receptors' ligands (PD-L1) downregulates effector T cells; hence, it may be an effective treatment for NK/T-cell lymphoma. Here, we report a patient diagnosed with ENKTL whose health was significantly improved after PD-1 immunotherapy. At the same time, the patient suffered from related renal toxic side effects. Immunotherapy is an emerging treatment method for tumors, and the early diagnosis and identification of its side effects are vital for the diagnosis and treatment of tumors. CASE REPORT Laboratory tests, pathological examinations, and the patient's history were performed to estimate the severity and the cause of renal insufficiency. The patient with ENKTL developed transient renal damage during immunotherapy. During the next treatment and examination, renal insufficiency was irrelevant to PD-1 inhibitors and avoided unnecessary drug withdrawal. CONCLUSIONS In the present case report, we discuss a patient who developed a severe transient renal impairment during immunotherapy and review published studies regarding immunotherapy and its renal-related side effects. We also outline how to critically distinguish whether a patient's kidney injury is anti-PD-1 treatment. We also provide insights to oncologists to develop an effective follow-up treatment plan for early detection and management of any anti-PD-1 treatment side effects.

Abstract
The nutritional components of fermented soybean meal (FSBM) vary because of the complex process of microbial fermentation. The objective of this study was to investigate the nutritional value of FSBM from two sources and explore the mode of actions of FSBM on the improvement of nutrient digestibility with the measurements of digestive enzymes and serum biomarkers. Eight weaned barrows (initial BW: 14.12 ± 0.24 kg) equipped with T-cannula in the distal ileum were allotted to a duplicated 4 × 4 Latin-square design with four experimental diets and four periods. Four experimental diets included a soybean meal control diet, two FSBM diets, and a nitrogen-free diet. The two sources of FSBM increased the contents of CP, amino acid and lactic acid, while decreased the levels of anti-nutritional factors, including glycinin, β-conglycinin and trypsin inhibitors. Compared to soybean meal control diet, both FSBM diets significantly increased the apparent and standardised ileal digestibility of CP and amino acids (P < 0.05), increased the activities of lipase, maltase and invertase in digesta (P < 0.05), increased total antioxidant capacity, activities of glutathione peroxidase and superoxide dismutase, the levels of interleukin-4, IgA, IgG and IgM in serum (P < 0.05), while decreased the levels of diamine oxidase, malondialdehyde, interleukin-6, and interleukin-2 in serum (P < 0.05). Additionally, the standardised ileal digestibility of amino acids were highly correlated with the aforementioned digestive enzymes and health-related serum biomarkers. In summary, FSBM diets showed an improved nutritional value evidenced by the higher nutrient digestibility, which may be partially derived from its beneficial effects on intestinal integrity, anti-oxidative capacity and immune function.

Efficacy and Safety of Reirradiation with Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy for Locally Recurrent Pancreatic Adenocarcinoma. Clin Oncol (R Coll Radiol) 2022; 34:386-394. [PMID: 34974972 DOI: 10.1016/j.clon.2021.12.014] [Citation(s) in RCA: 0] [Impact Index Per Article: 0] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [Key Words] [MESH Headings] [Track Full Text] [Journal Information] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Received: 07/19/2021] [Revised: 10/07/2021] [Accepted: 12/17/2021] [Indexed: 11/03/2022]
Abstract
AIMS The purpose of this study was to report on outcomes of a cohort of patients who were treated with reirradiation with stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) for locally recurrent pancreatic adenocarcinoma. MATERIALS AND METHODS Patients treated with SBRT reirradiation for locally recurrent pancreatic adenocarcinoma from December 2009 to April 2020 were included in the study. Descriptive statistics were used to record patient demographics, tumour and treatment characteristics. Kaplan-Meier analysis was used to evaluate overall survival, local progression-free survival (LPFS), distant metastasis-free survival and progression-free survival (PFS). RESULTS In total, 27 patients were included in the study. The median follow-up time from local recurrence was 19.7 months (range 4.2-43.1 months). Most patients received five-fraction SBRT (26/27, 96%). The median overall survival after local recurrence treatment was 18.3 months (range 3.0-42.6 months), with 6-month, 1-year and 2-year overall survival rates of 88.5%, 73.1% and 33.6%. The median LPFS after local recurrence treatment was 16.2 months (range 2.3-33.6 months), with 6-month, 1-year and 2-year LPFS rates of 95.8%, 62.9% and 27.2%. Peri-SBRT chemotherapy improved LPFS (median 17.5 versus 8.5 months; P = 0.010) and overall survival (median 19.3 versus 5.5 months; P = 0.049). Tumours ≤ 3 cm in the greatest dimension showed better local control (median LPFS 19.2 versus 10.2 months; P = 0.130). There was one case (4%) of acute grade 3 pain and one case (4%) of late grade 3 gastrointestinal toxicity. CONCLUSIONS Reirradiation with five-fraction SBRT is safe, but local control remains suboptimal. Patients with smaller tumours experienced improved outcomes, as did patients whose treatment plan included the administration of peri-SBRT chemotherapy.

Abstract
Objective: The magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) features of intestinal-type periampullary carcinoma (IPAC) and pancreatobiliary-type periampullary carcinoma (PPAC) were compared and analyzed to discuss the optimal diagnosis scheme. Method: Preoperative MRI images of 59 patients (32 males, 27 females, aged 37-80 years) diagnosed with periampullary carcinoma (PAC) confirmed by surgery and pathology in Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital from January 2017 to July 2020 were retrospectively analyzed. The patients were divided into 21 cases in the IPAC group (11 males, 10 females) and 38 cases in the PPAC group (21 males, 17 females) according to histopathological results. The conventional MRI plain scan signs included in the analysis include lesion morphology, the largest diameter of the lesion, lesion location, duodenal papilla morphology, plain scan lesion signal (with the normal pancreatic signal as reference), diffusion weighted imaging (DWI) signal. Magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP) image signs include the dilatation of common bile duct and main pancreatic duct and quantitative analysis of their diameter, the presence of a round filling defect in the distal end of the common bile duct, the morphology of common bile duct stenosis, the dilatation of lateral branches around the obstructed pancreatic duct, the ductal sign, the distance from the end of the obstructed common bile duct to the duodenal papilla, the distance from the end of the obstructed pancreatic duct to the duodenal papilla, and the angle of the pancreaticobiliary duct. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was used to evaluate the diagnostic efficacy of single meaningful factors. The MRI features of PAC were summarized according to the significant single factor indicators and were classified into 5 image types. And the diagnostic efficacy of the classification criteria for pathological subtypes of PAC was evaluated by the ROC curve. The DeLong test was used to compare the area under the ROC curve (AUC) of multiple diagnostic methods. Results: In univariate analysis, there were statistically significant differences between IPAC and PPAC in lesion location, duodenal papilla morphology, the circular filling defect in the distal end of the common bile duct, the distance from the obstructed pancreatic duct to the duodenal papilla, the angle of the pancreaticobiliary duct, and lesion signal characteristics on plain T2WI fat suppressant images (all P<0.05). Among the 5 types of MRI images, IPAC is mostly manifested as duodenal papillary nodules(15/21,71.4%), while PPAC is more manifested as pancreatic mass type(18/38,47.4%), thickened common bile duct wall type(9/38,23.7%) or ampullary mass type(9/38,23.7%). Both IPAC(2/21,9.5%) and PPAC(0,0) rarely showed the nodular type of common bile duct lumen. In the DeLong test of the significant univariate index(lesion location, duodenal papilla morphology, the circular filling defect in the distal end of the common bile duct, the distance from obstructed pancreatic duct to duodenal papilla, the angle of the pancreaticobiliary duct, and lesion signal characteristics on plain T2WI fat suppressant images) and the 5 classification of MRI images, the AUC of the 5 classifications of MRI images was 0.932(95%CI:0.867-0.997), which was higher than that of any of the significant univariate indexes (all P<0.05). In addition, the 5 classifications of MRI images have the same high diagnostic power as the logistic regression analysis model(P>0.05). Conclusions: The 5 classification of MRI images can improve the accuracy of differential diagnosis of IPAC and PPAC before surgery, and the diagnostic efficiency is better than any single factor meaningful index and comparable to that of the logistic regression analysis model.

Tests of Lepton Universality Using B^{0}→K_{S}^{0}ℓ^{+}ℓ^{-} and B^{+}→K^{*+}ℓ^{+}ℓ^{-} Decays. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2022; 128:191802. Abstract
Tests of lepton universality in B^{0}→K_{S}^{0}ℓ^{+}ℓ^{-} and B^{+}→K^{*+}ℓ^{+}ℓ^{-} decays where ℓ is either an electron or a muon are presented. The differential branching fractions of B^{0}→K_{S}^{0}e^{+}e^{-} and B^{+}→K^{*+}e^{+}e^{-} decays are measured in intervals of the dilepton invariant mass squared. The measurements are performed using proton-proton collision data recorded by the LHCb experiment, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9 fb^{-1} . The results are consistent with the standard model and previous tests of lepton universality in related decay modes. The first observation of B^{0}→K_{S}^{0}e^{+}e^{-} and B^{+}→K^{*+}e^{+}e^{-} decays is reported.

Observation of the Decay Λ_{b}^{0}→Λ_{c}^{+}τ^{-}ν[over ¯]_{τ}. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2022; 128:191803. Abstract
The first observation of the semileptonic b-baryon decay Λ_{b}^{0}→Λ_{c}^{+}τ^{-}ν[over ¯]_{τ}, with a significance of 6.1σ, is reported using a data sample corresponding to 3 fb^{-1} of integrated luminosity, collected by the LHCb experiment at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV at the LHC. The τ^{-} lepton is reconstructed in the hadronic decay to three charged pions. The ratio K=B(Λ_{b}^{0}→Λ_{c}^{+}τ^{-}ν[over ¯]_{τ})/B(Λ_{b}^{0}→Λ_{c}^{+}π^{-}π^{+}π^{-}) is measured to be 2.46±0.27±0.40, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. The branching fraction B(Λ_{b}^{0}→Λ_{c}^{+}τ^{-}ν[over ¯]_{τ})=(1.50±0.16±0.25±0.23)% is obtained, where the third uncertainty is from the external branching fraction of the normalization channel Λ_{b}^{0}→Λ_{c}^{+}π^{-}π^{+}π^{-}. The ratio of semileptonic branching fractions R(Λ_{c}^{+})≡B(Λ_{b}^{0}→Λ_{c}^{+}τ^{-}ν[over ¯]_{τ})/B(Λ_{b}^{0}→Λ_{c}^{+}μ^{-}ν[over ¯]_{μ}) is derived to be 0.242±0.026±0.040±0.059, where the external branching fraction uncertainty from the channel Λ_{b}^{0}→Λ_{c}^{+}μ^{-}ν[over ¯]_{μ} contributes to the last term. This result is in agreement with the standard model prediction.

Abstract
UNLABELLED People with cystic fibrosis (CF) are at increased risk of fractures. Our study found that low trabecular bone score (TBS) (a measure of bone strength) may help identify people with CF at risk of fractures especially when combined with bone density measured by DXA, age, hemoglobin A1c, and transplant status. INTRODUCTION People with cystic fibrosis (CF) are at increased risk of fractures. This study aims to evaluate the association of trabecular bone score (TBS) with fractures in CF. METHODS A cross-sectional study of adults with CF who completed bone density between 2009 and 2019. TBS was applied to lumbar spine studies. RESULTS A total of 202 people with CF were included. A history of fracture was present in 36 (17.8%) subjects. Patients with history of fractures had higher hemoglobin A1c (A1C) (7.8 ± 2.7% vs. 6.7 ± 1.7%, p = 0.024), lower femoral neck (FN) Z/T-score (- 1.05 ± 1.08 vs. - 0.44 ± 1.08, p = 0.012), and lower TBS (1.36 ± 0.13 vs. 1.40 ± 0.11, p = 0.05) compared to those without. Lung transplant recipients had a higher prevalence of fractures (50% vs. 14.1%, p < 0.001). The odds ratio (95%CI) of having a fracture for subjects with TBS (≤ 1.2 vs. > 1.2) stratified by FN Z/T-score (≤ - 2.0 or > - 2.0) was 3.88 (0.92, 16.35), p = 0.07. ROC analysis showed TBS was significantly associated with fractures (p < 0.05); however, FN BMD was superior. A model combining FN BMD, age, A1c, transplant, and TBS improved ROC compared to FN BMD + age (0.837 vs. 0.779, p = 0.031). CONCLUSIONS TBS ≤ 1.2 may identify people with CF at high risk of fractures. A model combining FN BMD, age, A1c, transplant, and TBS was significantly associated with fractures compared to FN BMD + age. Future studies are needed to evaluate the prediction of fractures in people with CF using clinical and bone parameters.
