Abstract
Objective: To investigate the efficiency of FibroScan(FS)and FibroTouch(FT)in liver stiffness measurement(LSM)and fat quantification through a comparative analysis. Methods: The outpatients or hospitalized patients who underwent LSM and fat quantification using FS and FT were enrolled. The differences in success rate and detecting parameters between FS and FT were analyzed, as well as the correlation between FS and FT values. The t-test was used for comparison of normally distributed continuous data between groups, and a one-way analysis of variance or the Kruskal-Wallis test was used for comparison between multiple groups. The Mann-Whitney U test was used for comparison of non-normally distributed continuous data between groups. Results: A total of 1621 patients were enrolled. The success rates of FT and FS were 100% and 94.96%, respectively, and the success rate of FS was influenced by sex, age, body mass index, and biochemical markers of liver function. FT has a significantly shorter duration of single detection and a significantly lower number of times of single detection than FS(duration of single detection: 190.21±38.78 s vs 220.89±68.36 s, P < 0.01; number of single detection times: 10.31±1.32 vs 11.81±3.76, P < 0.01), as well as a significantly lower ratio of interquartile range to median of fat quantification in the same patient(5.39%±4.81% vs 17.18%±14.07%, P < 0.01). The LSM and fat quantification of FS were significantly correlated with those of FT(r = 0.645 and 0.620, both Based on the duration and number of times of single detection, success rate, and stability of fat quantification, FT seems to have a better detection efficiency than FS. The detection values of FT and FS can be calculated with regression equations < 0.01). The equations of linear regression were LSM(FT)= 4.435+0.477×LSM(FS); CAP(FT)= 134.71+0.456×CAP(FS). Conclusion: Based on the duration and number of times of single detection, success rate, and stability of fat quantification, FT seems to have a better detection efficiency than FS. The detection values of FT and FS can be calculated with regression equations.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the related factors of anemia during pregnancy and provide scientific evidence for the primary prevention of anemia during pregnancy. Methods: The pregnant women (≤12 pregnant weeks) who received the first pregnancy care in a local medical institution in Hunan province from June 2013 to November 2014 were included in this cohort study, and for them anemia had been excluded by physical examination. Baseline survey and follow up till childbirth were conducted for them. A queue-based nested case-control study (1 ∶ 2) was conducted (380 pregnant women with anemia detected in this study as case group, 760 pregnant women without anemia randomly selected and matched by age, habitual residence during pregnancy as control group. And t test, χ(2) test and logistic regression analysis were conducted to identify related factors of anemia during pregnancy. Results: Multivariate logistic regression analysis indicated that low family annual income level (net income) (OR=2.08, 95%CI: 1.22-3.59), low educational level (OR=2.09, 95%CI: 1.22-3.59), pre-pregnancy perm/hair dye (OR=2.23, 95%CI: 1.63-3.05), early pregnancy vomiting (OR=2.51, 95%CI: 1.56-4.03) were the risk factors for anemia during pregnancy. Intake of vitamin and trace element supplements (OR=0.69, 95%CI: 0.50-0.94), frequent meat, fish, shrimp, egg intakes (OR=0.68, 95%CI: 0.49-0.92), frequent soy milk, milk intakes (OR=0.51, 95%CI: 0.27-0.95) were the protective factors for anemia during pregnancy. Conclusion: A number of factors, such as family annual income level, education level, poisonous and harmful material contact, pregnancy reaction, nutrition, are related to the incidence of anemia during pregnancy, it is necessary to take preventive measures to reduce the incidence of anemia during pregnancy.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the possible mechanism related to the protective effects of salvianolate in H9c2 cells underwent hypoxia/reoxygenation (H/R)-injury. Methods: H9c2 cells were divided into four groups: control group, salvianolate group (S group), H/R group, and salvianolate+ H/R group(S+ H/R group), in which the H9c2 cells were pretreated with salvianolate before H/R-treatment.Apoptotic cells were detected by Tunel assays and AnnexinⅤ-FITC apoptosis detection kit.The intracellular ATP level, the change of mitochondrial membrane potential and the mitochondrial DNA oxidative damage were also determined in these groups. Results: (1) The apoptosis rate of H/R group(26.36±5.14)% was significantly higher compared to control group(2.71±1.66)%(P=0.000 4), which could be significantly reduced in S+ H/R group(17.28±4.75)%(P=0.012 8 vs. H/R group , P=0.003 9 vs. control group). The ratio of AnnexinⅤ and PI double positive cells in H/R group(28.23±6.73)% was significantly higher compared to control group(3.53±2.83)%(P=0.001 1), which was significantly reduced in S+ H/R group(18.10±4.56)%(P=0.037 2 vs. H/R group, P=0.038 3 vs. control group). (2)The ATP level of H9c2 cells in H/R group(49.05±10.12)% was significantly lower than in control group 100%(P=0.000 5), which was significantly increased in S+ H/R group(68.67±13.32)%(P=0.019 9 vs. H/R group). Confocal microscope showed that red fluorescence was dominant in the control group, red fluorescence was significantly reduced, while green fluorescence was significantly increased in H9c2 cells of H/R group and the fluorescence ratio of red to green in H/R group((37.13±8.47)%) was significantly decreased compared to control group (100%, P=0.000 1), fluorescence ratio of red to green was significantly increased in S+ H/R group((63.77±12.32)% vs. H/R group, P=0.007 3). (3)The mitochondrial DNA oxidative damage in different groups: there was only few 8-hydroxyguanine (8-OHdG) expression, which marked as green, in control group, and 8-OHdG expression was significantly upregulated in H/R group, moreover, the 8-OHdG was co-localized with mitochondria.The expression of 8-OHdG was significantly lower in S+ H/R group compared to H/R group. Conclusion: Salvianolate can reduce mitochondrial DNA oxidative damage, and protect mitochondrial function, thus inhibit myocardial cell apoptosis and eventually reduce the myocardial H/R-injury in H9c2 cells.

Abstract
Objective:To study the variation of the electrode impedance in different periods after cochlear implantation performed with round window insertion in steroid deposition, and to provide the basis for the postoperative debugging of the speech processor. Method:Detected the electrode impedance of 47 cochlear receivers after operation in steroid deposition from September 2014 to October 2015, compared the impedance values between different periods, and different groups according to their locations. Result:The average impedance of all the electrodes and the 3 subgroups are low after implantation (period A0), peaked at the first month (period A1), then decreased slowly, and then turned to be stable at the sixth month (period A3); the impedance values were no significantly different between the sixth month (period A3) and the twelfth month (period A4) while were significantly different between each of other two periods (P<0.05); the apical group had the highest impedance and the basal group had the lowest impedance in all the 5 periods. Conclusion:The local use of steroid can decrease the impedance of the electrode after implantation. The impedance value were the low during operation, peaked at the first month, then decreased slowly, and turned to be stable at the sixth month. As a result, the cochlear implant should be debugged at regular intervals in 6 months after operation to obtain the best hearing status.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the association between hepatic controlled attenuation parameter (CAP) and metabolic syndrome (MetS) and the correlation of CAP and its changes with the incidence of MetS. Methods: A total of 2461 subjects who underwent physical examination from July 2013 to September 2015 were enrolled. Spearman correlation analysis was used to investigate the correlation of CAP with the number of MetS components and each MetS component, and the chi-square test was used to investigate the prevalence rates of MetS and each component under different CAP levels. Logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the odds ratio (95% confidence interval (CI)) of MetS under different CAP levels. A total of 230 subjects without baseline MetS were selected; in a prospective cohort study, these subjects were divided into groups according to the baseline CAP, change in CAP, and percent change in CAP, and the chi-square test was performed to compare the incidence of MetS. The Cox regression analysis was used to analyze the values of baseline CAP, change in CAP, and percent change in CAP in predicting MetS. Results: CAP was positively correlated with the number of MetS components (r = 0.309, P < 0.01) and significantly correlated with all components. There were significant differences in the prevalence rates of MetS and its components under different CAP levels (< 238 dB/m, 238-258 dB/m, 259-291 dB/m, and ≥292 dB/m) (P < 0.05). After the adjustment for sex and age, with < 238 dB/m as a reference, the odds ratios (95% CI) of MetS in patients with CAP levels of 238-258 dB/m, 259-291 dB/m, and ≥292 dB/m were 1.784 (1.369-2.325), 2.936 (2.292-3.760), and 4.363 (3.435-5.543), respectively (all P < 0.05). Follow-up data showed that 28 patients (12.2%) developed MetS. After the adjustment for related factors, the hazard ratios (95% CI) of MetS in patients with baseline CAP > 238 dB/m, change in CAP > 30 dB/m, and percent change in CAP > 25.0% were 3.337 (1.163-9.569), 7.732 (2.453-24.366), and 11.656 (3.329-40.813), respectively (all P < 0.05). Conclusion: CAP is closely associated with MetS and its components. CAP and its change can be used to predict the risk of MetS.

Abstract
Objective: To systematically evaluate the influencing factors on quality of sleep among community elderly population aged ≥60 years in China. Methods: Literature review was conducted using databases of PubMed, EMbase, CBM, CNKI and Wanfang to collect data regarding influencing factors on quality of sleep. Both qualitative and quantitative analysis were performed to pool the eligible studies. Results: Sixteen cross-sectional studies were included. Data from both qualitative and quantitative analysis showed that the elderly population who had ever married (OR=0.72, 95%CI: 0.52-0.98) or lived with other people (OR=0.78, 95%CI: 0.70-0.87) had better quality of sleep but it was worse when with chronic diseases (OR=2.24, 95%CI: 1.39-3.61). The effects of age and sex on the quality of sleep in the elderly was not yet conclusive. Studies on life style, social support and psychological factors appeared scarce. Conclusion: The protective factors on quality of sleep among community elderly population aged ≥60 years in China appeared as: ever had married or lived with others while chronic diseases were risk factors in reducing the quality of sleep.

Abstract
Laryngeal cancer is the major malignant tumor affecting the upper respiratory tract. Previous studies have reported on the association between XRCC1 genetic polymorphisms and risk of laryngeal cancer, but with conflicting results. In this study, we attempted to assess the association between XRCC1 Arg194Trp, Arg280His and Arg399Gln polymorphisms and risk of laryngeal cancer in a Chinese population. A total of 126 laryngeal cancer patients and 254 control subjects were recruited to this study from the Second Medical College of Jinan University between December 2013 and May 2015. The XRCC1 Arg194Trp, Arg280His, and Arg399Gln polymorphic sites were genotyped by polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism. Our results revealed a significant association between the AA genotype of XRCC1 Arg280His [odds ratio (OR) = 2.51, 95% confidence interval (CI) = 1.29-4.87, P = 0.01] and an increased risk of laryngeal cancer susceptibility compared to the GG genotype. Moreover, the A allele showed a higher risk of laryngeal cancer susceptibility compared to the G allele (OR = 1.63, 95%CI = 1.19-2.50, P = 0.002). In conclusion, the results of our study suggest that the AA genotype and A allele of the XRCC1 Arg280His polymorphism are associated with an increased laryngeal cancer risk in a Chinese population.

Abstract
Poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET)-based composite fibers were prepared by melt spinning three types of PET/polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (POSS) composites. These composites were made by either melt blending POSS with PET at 5 wt% loading level (non-reactive POSS and silanol POSS) or by in-situ polymerization with 2.5 wt% reactive POSS. Significant increases in tensile modulus and tensile strengths were achieved in PET fibers with non-reactive POSS at room temperature. The hightemperature modulus retention was found to be much better for PET/silanol POSS fiber when compared to that of control PET. Although other PET/POSS nancomposite fibers tested did not show this high retention of modulus at elevated temperatures, PET/isooctylPOSS nanocomposite fibers did show increased modulus at elevated temperature compared to that of PET. Higher compressive strengths, compared to PET fibers, were observed for all three nanocomposite fibers. Gel permeation chromatography measurement suggested that there is no significant change in molecular weight during preparation of PET/POSS nanocomposites. SEM observations suggest that there is no obvious phase separation in any of the three PET/POSS systems. Crystallization behavior and thermal stability of the composite were also studied. The fiber spinning and mechanical performance with 10 and 20 wt% of trisilanolisooctyl POSS2 were also investigated1 the composites with higher concentrations of this nanofiller can be spun without any difficulty. At room temperature, the fiber tensile modulus increased steadily with the POSS concentration while fiber tensile strength showed no significant change. The elongation at break decreased significantly with increasing of POSS concentration. The high-temperature moduli of PET/POSS nanocomposite fibers were found to be rather variable, likely due to the modest compatibility between filler and polymers, which can lead to structural anisotropy within the composite.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the reliability and validity of a comprehensive geriatric assessment tool set for community elderly. METHODS A sample of 574 community elderly (231 males, 343 females) aged 60 to 94 years, were included in the study. Split-half reliability and Chronbach' s α coefficient were used to test the reliability, with Face validity tested by Delphi method. Construct validity was tested, using the Factor Reliability. RESULTS The split-half reliability coefficient appeared as 0.706. The Chronbach' s α coefficient was 0.652 for the whole questionnaire. The authority coefficient was 0.876, and the Kendall coefficient was 0.408 (P<0.001). Six factors were identified through factor analysis and the factor loading matrix showed that the construct validity was good. CONCLUSION The tool was recognized as a reliable and validated measure for the comprehensive assessment on community elderly.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES By combining the metabolomics and computational biology, to explore the relationship between metabolic phenotype and pathological stage in esophageal cancer patients, to find the mechanism of metabolic network disturbance and develop a new method for fast preoperative clinical staging. METHODS A prospective cohort study (from April 2013 to January 2016) was conducted. The preoperative patients from Sichuan Provincial People's Hospital, who were diagnosed with esophageal cancer from May 2013 to April 2014 were included, and their serum samples were collected to detect (1)H-nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) metabolomics for the purpose of drawing the metabolic fingerprinting in different stages of patients with esophageal cancer. The data were processed with these methods-principal components analysis: partial least squares regression and support vector machine, for the exploration of the enzyme-gene network regulatory mechanism in abnormal esophageal cancer metabolic network regulation and to build the quantitative prediction model of esophageal cancer staging in the end. All data were processed on high-performance computing platforms Matalab. The comparison of data had used Wilcoxon test, variance analysis, χ(2) test and Fisher exact test. RESULTS Twenty patients with different stages of esophageal cancer were included; and their serum metabolic fingerprinting could differentiate different tumor stages. There were no difference among the five teams in the age (F=1.086, P>0.05), the body mass index (F=1.035, P>0.05), the distance from the incisors to tumor (F=1.078, P>0.05). Among the patients with different TNM stages, there was a significant difference in plasma metabolome. Compared to ⅡB, ⅢA, Ⅳstage patients, increased levels of butanone, ethanol amine, homocysteine, hydroxy acids and estriol, together with decreased levels of glycoprotein, creatine, choline, isobutyricacid, alanine, leucine, valine, were observed inⅠB, ⅡA stage patients. Four metabolic markers (ethanol amine, hydroxy-propionic acid, homocysteine and estriol) were eventually selected. gene ontology analysis showed that 54 enzymes and genes regulated the 4 key metabolic markers. The quantitative prediction model of esophageal cancer staging based on esophageal cancer NMR spectrum were established. Cross-validation results showed that the predicted effect was good (root mean square error=5.3, R(2)=0.47, P=0.036). CONCLUSIONS The systems biology approaches based on metabolomics and enzyme-gene regulatory network analysis can be used to quantify the metabolic network disturbance of patients with advanced esophageal cancer, and to predict preoperative clinical staging of esophageal cancer patients by plasma NMR metabolomics.
