Abstract
We report on the nuclear dependence of transverse single-spin asymmetries (TSSAs) in the production of positively charged hadrons in polarized p^{↑}+p, p^{↑}+Al, and p^{↑}+Au collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=200 GeV. The measurements have been performed at forward rapidity (1.4<η<2.4) over the range of transverse momentum (1.8<p_{T}<7.0 GeV/c) and Feynman x (0.1<x_{F}<0.2). We observed positive asymmetries for positively charged hadrons in p^{↑}+p collisions, and significantly reduced asymmetries in p^{↑}+A collisions. These results reveal a nuclear dependence of TSSAs for charged-hadron production in a regime where perturbative techniques are applicable. These results provide new opportunities to use p^{↑}+A collisions as a tool to investigate the rich phenomena behind TSSAs in hadronic collisions and to use TSSAs as a new handle in studying small-system collisions.

Abstract
Ethylene (C2H4) and propylene (C3H6) are important energy sources and raw materials in the chemical industry. Storage and separation of C2H4 and C3H6 are vital to their practical application. Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) having adjustable structures and pore environments are promising candidates for C3H6/C2H4 separation. Herein, we obtained a Cu-based MOF synthesized by H3TTCA and pyrazine ligands. By adding different functional groups on the ligands within the MOFs, their pore environments are adjusted, and thus, the C3H6 storage capacity and C3H6/C2H4 separation efficiency are improved. Eventually, the fluoro- and methyl-functionalized iso-MOF-4 exhibits a better gas storage and C3H6/C2H4 separation performance compared with iso-MOF-1 (nonfunctionalized), iso-MOF-2 (fluoro-functionalized), and iso-MOF-3 (methyl-functionalized). A record-high C3H6 uptake of 293.6 ± 2.3 cm3 g-1 (273 K, 1 atm) is achieved using iso-MOF-4. Moreover, iso-MOF-4 shows excellent repeatability, and only 3.5% of C3H6 storage capacities decrease after nine cycles. Employing Grand Canonical Monte Carlo (GCMC) simulations, it is indicated that iso-MOF-4 preferentially adsorbs C3H6 rather than C2H4 at low pressure. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction on C3H6-adsorbed iso-MOF-4 crystals precisely demonstrates the adsorption positions and arrangement of C3H6 molecules in the framework, which is consistent with the theoretical simulations. Remarkably, gas sorption isotherms, molecular simulations, and breakthrough experiments comprehensively demonstrate that this unique MOF material exhibits highly efficient C3H6/C2H4 separation. Additionally, iso-MOF-4 also possesses efficient separation of C3H8/CH4 and C2H6/CH4, indicating its promising potential in storage/separation of light hydrocarbons in industry.

Abstract
The PHENIX collaboration presents first measurements of low-momentum (0.4<p_{T}<3 GeV/c) direct-photon yields from Au+Au collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=39 and 62.4 GeV. For both beam energies the direct-photon yields are substantially enhanced with respect to expectations from prompt processes, similar to the yields observed in Au+Au collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=200. Analyzing the photon yield as a function of the experimental observable dN_{ch}/dη reveals that the low-momentum (>1 GeV/c) direct-photon yield dN_{γ}^{dir}/dη is a smooth function of dN_{ch}/dη and can be well described as proportional to (dN_{ch}/dη)^{α} with α≈1.25. This scaling behavior holds for a wide range of beam energies at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider and the Large Hadron Collider, for centrality selected samples, as well as for different A+A collision systems. At a given beam energy, the scaling also holds for high p_{T} (>5 GeV/c), but when results from different collision energies are compared, an additional sqrt[s_{NN}]-dependent multiplicative factor is needed to describe the integrated-direct-photon yield.

Abstract
A major goal of metal-organic framework (MOF) research is to control the structures and functions of materials in accordance with their specific applications. However, due to the flexible coordination modes between metal ions and organic linkers in MOFs, it is still challenging to rationally assemble a framework with deliberate structures and desired functional groups. Sometimes, two or more phases coexist in a one-pot reaction, making them difficult to separate. To this end, sieving and purification of MOF mixtures become vital for the following application. Herein, we demonstrate that the formation of zirconium-based MOFs (Zr-MOFs) can be regulated in a wider two-dimensional scale by thermodynamics using auxiliary linkers. The auxiliary linkers favor the formation of the targeted Zr-MOF by selectively binding to its coordination vacancies and therefore increasing its formation enthalpy to achieve the sieving of MOF mixture. Furthermore, the resulting mixed-linkers MOFs not only maintain porosities but also contain the installed auxiliary linkers as chemical handles to further incorporate functional groups, providing the possibility of introduction of active sites through post-modification. Finally, this synthetic strategy was applied to assemble a cooperative catalytic system in a MOF platform for CO2 cycloaddition with epoxides. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first example of sieving and functionalization of MOFs through insertion and post-modification of auxiliary linkers.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Slow freezing has been widely applied to preserve human ovarian tissue. OBJECTIVE The aim of this study is to determine whether human ovarian cortex pretreated with hyaluronidase can improve the protective effect of cryopreservation. MATERIALS AND METHODS Human ovarian biopsies from seven patients were cryopreserved using slow freezing. The samples in the experimental group were incubated in culture medium with hyaluronidase for a short time before cryopreservation. The histology of the thawed ovarian tissue was investigated; the levels of steroid hormone in the culture media were then used to evaluate the development and function of thawed ovarian tissue. RESULTS The result showed that the percentage of morphologically abnormal primordial follicles was higher in the freezing control than in the experimental group (P<0.05). 17β-estradiol (E2) and progesterone (P4) concentrations were significantly higher in the experimental group than in the freezing control group (P<0.05). CONCLUSION Our study showed that human ovarian cortex pretreatment with hyaluronidase can improve the protective effect of cryopreservation by improving the penetration of cryoprotectant.

Abstract
A coral-like NiSe@NC nanohybrid as an effective electrocatalyst for the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) at all pH values, constructed via the in situ selenation of a Ni-MOFs precursor, is reported. The electrocatalyst shows overpotentials of 123 mV, 250 mV and 300 mV in 0.5 M H2SO4, 1.0 M KOH and 1.0 M PBS, respectively, to afford a current density of 10 mA cm-2. Meanwhile, NiSe@NC also exhibits a small Tafel slope and superior long-term stability over a wide pH range. The excellent electrocatalytic performance should be ascribed to the unique coral-like structure with a large BET specific surface area (125.4 m2 g-1) and mesoporous features, as well as synergistic effects between NiSe nanocrystals and highly conductive N-doped porous carbon.

Abstract
Asymmetric nuclear collisions of p+Al, p+Au, d+Au, and ^{3}He+Au at sqrt[s_{NN}]=200 GeV provide an excellent laboratory for understanding particle production, as well as exploring interactions among these particles after their initial creation in the collision. We present measurements of charged hadron production dN_{ch}/dη in all such collision systems over a broad pseudorapidity range and as a function of collision multiplicity. A simple wounded quark model is remarkably successful at describing the full data set. We also measure the elliptic flow v_{2} over a similarly broad pseudorapidity range. These measurements provide key constraints on models of particle emission and their translation into flow.

Abstract
Computed Tomography (CT) is a powerful method for non-destructive testing (NDT) and metrology awakes with expanding application fields. To improve the spatial resolution of high energy CT, a micro-spot gamma-ray source based on bremsstrahlung from a laser wakefield accelerator was developed. A high energy CT using the source was performed, which shows that the resolution of reconstruction can reach 100 μm at 10% contrast. Our proof-of-principle demonstration indicates that laser driven micro-spot gamma-ray sources provide a prospective way to increase the spatial resolution and toward to high energy micro CT. Due to the advantage in spatial resolution, laser based high energy CT represents a large potential for many NDT applications.
