Abstract
BackgroundReactive oxygen species accumulation and iron overload are involved in the pathogenesis of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Ferroptosis, as a non-apoptotic form of programmed cell death, characteristically depends on iron and lipid peroxidation. However, the role of ferroptosis in RA has not been explored.ObjectivesTo explore the role of ferroptosis in immune imbalance of rheumatoid arthritis.MethodsIron content in synovial fluid was determined by colorimetry. Lipid peroxidation was assessed by flow cytometry and immunofluorescence. MDA and GSH were used as markers to assess iferroptosis. K/BxN spontaneous arthritis mice and serum-induced arthritis mice were used as in vivo animal models of ferroptosis.ResultsIron overload and hyperlipid peroxidation of mononuclear-macrophages were found in the synovial fluid of RA patients. Liproxstatin-1, the specific inhibitor of ferroptosis, alleviated the progression of arthritis mice model by increasing M2-like macrophage numbers. Mechanistically, iron overload in arthritis lesion induced anti-inflammatory macrophage ferroptosis by promoting glutathione peroxidase 4 (GPX4, a classical anti-ferroptosis molecule) to undergo P62 - dependent autophagy degradation.ConclusionOur results provide compelling evidence that macrophages ferroptosis plays a major role in RA. M2-like macrophages are more sensitive to ferroptosis than M1-like macrophages under iron overload circulation. This finding heavily contributes to the immune imbalance of rheumatoid arthritis.References[1]Xin Chen, et al. Cellular degradation systems in ferroptosis. Abstract
Quantum simulation of 1D relativistic quantum mechanics has been achieved in well-controlled systems like trapped ions, but properties like spin dynamics and response to external magnetic fields that appear only in higher dimensions remain unexplored. Here we simulate the dynamics of a 2D Weyl particle. We show the linear dispersion relation of the free particle and the discrete Landau levels in a magnetic field, and we explicitly measure the spatial and spin dynamics from which the conservation of helicity and properties of antiparticles can be verified. Our work extends the application of an ion trap quantum simulator in particle physics with the additional spatial and spin degrees of freedom.

Abstract
Objective: To analyze the dynamic changes and influencing factors of HIV-1 DNA load in HIV-1 infected individuals under antiretroviral therapy (ART) in Dehong Dai and Jingpo autonomous prefecture, Yunnan province, and provide information support for the clinical use of HIV-1 DNA quantitative detection. Methods: The HIV infection cases in recent infection cohort from Dehong Center for Disease Control and Prevention during 2009-2018 were selected as study subjects. The dynamic curve of HIV-1 DNA load varrying with time was generated and logistic regression analysis was conducted to identify the risk factors for HIV-1 load in the recent follow up after ART and statistical analysis was performed by using SPSS 17.0. Results: Among the 113 HIV infection cases detected from the recent infection cohort, the recent HIV infection rate were 49.6%(56/113) males, sexual transmission cases and drug injection transmission cases accounted for 53.1% (60/113), 80.5% (91/113) and 19.5% (22/113), respectively. The dynamic changes curve showed that HIV-1 DNA load was relatively high (>800 copies /106 PBMCs) before ART, and droped rapidly (<400 copies /106 PBMCs) after ART for 1 year. However, HIV-1 DNA load decreased insignificantly from the second year of ART, and remained to be 269 copies/106 PBMCs after ART for 6 years. Univariable logistic regression analysis indicated that OR (95%CI) of CD8, CD4/CD8 and HIV-1 DNA load were 1.00 (1.00-1.00), 0.30 (0.09-1.05) and 1.01 (1.00-1.01), respectively. Multivariable logistic regression analysis showed that OR value of HIV-1 DNA load base was 1.00 (1.00-1.01). Conclusions: HIV-1 DNA load decreased significantly in the first year of ART, then remained stable for years. HIV-1 DNA load base was the key factor associated with the decrease of HIV-1 DNA load, the lower the HIV-1 DNA load base, the lower HIV-1 DNA load. Therefore, earlier ART can contribute to the decrease of HIV-1 DNA load.

Abstract
The pandemic of COVID-19 threatens the health and safety of the people all over the world. COVID-19 vaccine is the key public product to establish population immune barrier and achieve the global contain of the pandemic. The World Health Organization, the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization and the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations established COVID-19 Vaccines Global Access Facility (COVAX) in 2020, aiming to enable the fair access to COVID-19 vaccine by all countries in the world, especially the low- and middle-income countries. Although COVAX has facilitated the production and research of COVID-19 vaccine by coordinating the global supply chain, the implementation of COVAX is still facing many difficulties in financing, implementation and the awareness of public, revealing the problems of global health governance. Taking COVAX as an example, this paper analyzes the difficulties faced by global health governance and explore the underlying causes, so as to suggest feasible short and long-term paths for China's participation in global governance.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the association between prealbumin and the long-term prognosis of patients with hilar cholangiocarcinoma(HCCA) following radical surgery. Methods: The clinical data of 262 HCCA patients who underwent radical surgery admitted from January 2010 to January 2017 at the First Affiliated Hospital of Army Medical University were collected, retrospectively. There were 158 males and 104 females; aged (57.6±9.9)years old(range:32 to 78 years). According to the preoperative serum prealbumin level(170 mg/L),the patients were divided into low prealbumin group(n=143) and normal prealbumin group(n=119). Follow-up until September 2020,the main research indicator was overall survival(OS), and the secondary research indicator was recurrence-free survival(RFS). The measurement data conforming to the normal distribution adopted the t test, the measurement data not conforming to the normal distribution adopted the Mann-Whitney U test, and the count data adopted the χ2 test. The Kaplan-Meier method was used to calculate the cumulative survival rate. The Log-rank test was used for univariate analysis of the cumulative survival rate. Variables with P<0.10 in univariate analysis were included in the Cox proportional hazards model for multivariate analysis. Results: The 1-, 3-, and 5-year OS rate of the 262 patients was 73.4%, 32.1%, and 24.0%, respectively, and the 1-, 3-, and 5-year RFS rate was 54.6%, 25.2%, and 16.2%, respectively. Median OS and RFS were 21 months and 12 months for patients with low prealbumin and 25 months and 19 months for patients with normal prealbumin. The OS rate and RFS rate of patients in the low prealbumin group were lower than those in the normal prealbumin group, and the difference was statistically significant (both P<0.05). The results of univariate analysis indicated that low prealbumin, CA19-9>150 U/L, tumor infiltration length>3 cm, preoperative jaundice, macrovascular invasion, microvascular invasion, lymph node metastasis, and poor differentiation maybe the risk factors of OS,and low prealbumin, tumor invasion length>3 cm,macrovascular invasion, microvascular invasion, lymph node metastasis, and poor differentiation maybe the risk factors of RFS for postoperative for radical resection in patients with HCCA (all P<0.10). Multivariate results suggested that low prealbumin, tumor invasion length>3 cm,microvascular invasion, lymph node metastasis, and poor differentiation were independent risk factors affecting OS and RFS in patients with HCCA after radical operation (all P<0.05). Conclusion: Preoperative prealbumin level can predict the long-term prognosis of patients with hilar cholangiocarcinoma following radical surgery.

Abstract
Objective: To dynamically observe the clinical efficacy of entecavir and the changes of PD-1+CXCR5+CD4+T lymphocytes and sPD-1 levels in peripheral blood of HBeAg-positive chronic hepatitis B virus carriers treated with entecavir, and further explore its clinical significance. Methods: There were 31 cases of chronic hepatitis B virus carriers in the treatment group (A), 32 cases of chronic hepatitis B virus carriers in the treatment group (B), and 15 cases of chronic hepatitis B virus carriers in the non-treatment group (C).Three groups peripheral blood samples and clinical data at 0, 24 and 48 weeks were collected and compared. PD-1+CXCR5+CD4+T lymphocytes were detected by flow cytometry, and the level of sPD-1 was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. ANOVA and Spearman correlation analysis were performed on the measurement data among the three groups. Results: At week 0, the serum levels of HBsAg, HBeAg and HBV DNA were significantly higher in groups A and C than group B. PD-1+CXCR5+CD4+T lymphocytes in peripheral blood were significantly higher in group B (4.70%±1.58%) than group A (3.25%±1.01%) and group C (2.77%±0.67%) (F=16.65, P<0.05). There was no significant difference between group A and group C (P>0.05). Peripheral blood sPD-1 in group B [(1 866.62±1 472.70) pg/ml] was significantly higher than group A [(824.86±538.66) pg/ml] and group C [(618.19±602.62) pg/ml] (F=10.95, P<0.05). There was no significant difference between group A and group C (P>0.05). At 48 weeks, the serum HBsAg did not decrease significantly in groups A and C than baseline (P>0.05), but were significantly higher than group B (P<0.05). Serum HBeAg levels were decreased significantly in groups A and B than baseline (P<0.05). <0.05), but group A was significantly higher than group B (P<0.05), and there was no significant difference between group A and group C (P>0.05). Serum HBV DNA level was significantly lower in groups A and B than group C (P<0.05), and there was no significant difference between group A and group B (P>0.05). Peripheral blood PD-1+CXCR5+CD4+T lymphocytes were significantly lower in Group A (1.56%±0.73%) and group B (1.32%±0.43%) than group C (2.64%±0.85%) (P<0.05). Peripheral blood sPD-1 were significantly lower in group A [(289.05±215.86) pg/ml] and group B [(236.01±173.92) pg/ml] than group C [(650.34±598.46) pg/ml] (P<0.05). There was no significant difference between group A and group B. Correlation analysis results: In group A at 48 weeks, the decreased level of PD-1+CXCR5+CD4+T lymphocyte ratio had no correlation with the decreased level of HBsAg and HBV DNA, but was positively correlated with the decreased level of HBeAg (r=0.376, P<0.05). The decreased level of sPD-1 had no correlation with the changes of HBsAg, but was positively correlated with the decreased levels of HBeAg and HBV DNA (r=0.598 and 0.384, P<0.05). In group B at 48 weeks, the decreased levels of PD-1+CXCR5+CD4+T lymphocytes and sPD-1 were positively correlated with the decreased levels of HBsAg, HBeAg, and HBV DNA (P<0.05). Conclusion: Hepatitis B virus replication and expressions in HBeAg-positive chronic hepatitis B virus carriers were significantly inhibited after 48 weeks of antiviral treatment, which is related not only to entecavir treatment, but also to the immunological mechanism involved in sPD-1. Moreover, the inhibition of HBeAg expression is associated with a decrease in the number and/or activity of PD-1+CXCR5+CD4+T lymphocytes.

Abstract
Identifying drug-protein interactions (DPIs) is crucial in drug discovery, and a number of machine learning methods have been developed to predict DPIs. Existing methods usually use unrealistic data sets with hidden bias, which will limit the accuracy of virtual screening methods. Meanwhile, most DPI prediction methods pay more attention to molecular representation but lack effective research on protein representation and high-level associations between different instances. To this end, we present the novel structure-aware multimodal deep DPI prediction model, STAMP-DPI, which was trained on a curated industry-scale benchmark data set. We built a high-quality benchmark data set named GalaxyDB for DPI prediction. This industry-scale data set along with an unbiased training procedure resulted in a more robust benchmark study. For informative protein representation, we constructed a structure-aware graph neural network method from the protein sequence by combining predicted contact maps and graph neural networks. Through further integration of structure-based representation and high-level pretrained embeddings for molecules and proteins, our model effectively captures the feature representation of the interactions between them. As a result, STAMP-DPI outperformed state-of-the-art DPI prediction methods by decreasing 7.00% mean square error (MSE) in the Davis data set and improving 8.89% area under the curve (AUC) in the GalaxyDB data set. Moreover, our model is an interpretable model with the transformer-based interaction mechanism, which can accurately reveal the binding sites between molecules and proteins.

Abstract
In one-dimensional particle-in-cell simulations of a plasma irradiated by linearly polarized lasers from both sides of boundaries, it is found that there is an appreciable growth of the electromagnetic field in cavitons in the transverse direction perpendicular to the direction of polarization, which indicates the polarization conversion of the electromagnetic field in cavitons. This paper demonstrates the mechanism of this phenomenon based on parametric resonance induced by ponderomotive force with twice the frequency of the electromagnetic radiation in the caviton. We develop a theoretical model and verify it with simulation results. This phenomenon contributes to the heating and acceleration of particles and traps more EM energy in cavitons.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES To investigate the prevalence of sarcopenia and dysphagia in nursing homes and to analyze the associations between sarcopenic parameters and dysphagia. DESIGN A cross-sectional study. SETTING Nursing homes in Chengdu, Sichuan, China. PARTICIPANTS The study included 365 participants (122 men and 243 women) aged 60 years or older who could walk independently or with walking aids for at least 50 meters. MEASUREMENTS Dysphagia was defined by the water swallow test and sarcopenia and its components were evaluated by the criteria of the Asian Working Group for Sarcopenia, 2019. The values and percentages of sarcopenia associated parameters in relation to dysphagia were analyzed in both male and female residents. The Benjamini-Hochberg method was used to adjust for multiple comparisons. The relationship between sarcopenic components and dysphagia was analyzed using multivariate logistic regression analysis by sex. RESULTS A total of 365 residents (mean age: 84.28 years; 122 men and 243 women) were included in the study. Sarcopenia was diagnosed in 63.0% (n=230) and dysphagia in 75.3% (n = 275) of residents. For men, the percentage of sarcopenia was higher in residents with dysphagia. However, the sarcopenia percentage did not differ significantly between women with and without dysphagia. In both men and women, the handgrip strength (HGS) values were significantly lower in the dysphagic residents. The calf circumference (CC) value and appendicular skeletal muscle index (ASMI) were significantly lower in dysphagic men, while the SARC-CalF scores were higher. In women, the SPPB score was lower in residents with dysphagia. Furthermore, multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that low calf circumference (OR 4.415, 95% CI 1.561-12.490) and sarcopenia (OR 2.968, 95% CI 1.121-7.858) were significantly associated with dysphagia in men after adjusting for co-factors. CONCLUSION There is a high percentage of both dysphagia and sarcopenia in nursing home residents in West China. Low calf circumference and sarcopenia had strong associations with dysphagia among male nursing home residents.

Abstract
Objective: To analyze the clinical characteristics and molecular mechanisms of 5 cases of hypoparathyroidism caused by GATA3 gene mutation. Methods: A total of 5 childhood-onset hypoparathyroidism patients with GATA3 mutation were identified from 198 hypoparathyroidism (aged ≤18 years) from 1975 to 2021 in Peking Union Medical College Hospital. Clinical data and biochemical indices of the 5 patients were collected and analyzed retrospectively. Genetic screening was conducted by targeted next-generation sequencing (T-NGS), and bioinformatics analysis was performed to analyze the underline mechanisms. Results: The medium onset age of hypoparathyroidism of the 5 patients was 0.5 (0.1, 1.3) years old, and the time duration from onset to confirmed diagnosis of hypoparathyroidism and hypoparathyroidism- deafness-renal dysplasia syndrome was (7.0±5.2) years and (15.0±5.4) years, respectively. The clinical manifestations included carpopedal spasm accompanied by seizures (5 cases), basal ganglia calcification (5 cases), cataract (1 case), deafness (4 cases), and renal malformations or absence (2 cases). The blood calcium and blood parathormone(PTH) before treatment was (1.65±0.31) mmol/L and (4.64±2.63) ng/L, respectively. The 5 patients carried different heterozygous mutations in GATA3 gene, which caused nonsense mutations, frameshift mutations and splice site mutations, respectively. All the GATA3 gene mutations of the 5 patients are classified as pathogenic or likely pathogenic by the Clin Var database and American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics(ACMG). Conclusions: Attention should be paid to genetic diseases in patients with childhood-onset hypoparathyroidism. The possibility of hypoparathyroidism-deafness-renal dysplasia syndrome should be considered in hypoparathyroidism patients with hearing loss or renal dysplasia. GATA3 gene screening is highly recommended for the confirmation of the diagnosis.

Abstract
BACKGROUND More indications proved that diet might be involved in the telomere length, a marker of biological aging and chronic diseases. Copper is widely viewed as one of the essential elements in the diet. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the relationship between telomere length and dietary copper intake in hypertension and provide a basis for guiding dietary copper intake in patients with hypertension. METHODS The data was collected from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) in 1999-2000 and 2001-2002. The relevance between telomere length and dietary copper intake in hypertension is assessed using a multivariable linear regression model. RESULTS We gathered 1,867 participants with hypertension with assessed telomere length and dietary copper intake. We found that one unit increasing log-transformed dietary copper intake in hypertension was significantly associated with longer telomere length base pair (bp) (β = 112.20, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 5.48, 218.92), after controlling for covariates, including age, sex, ethnicity, body mass index (BMI), physical activity, and taking medication for hypertension. For the age group, we found that one unit increasing log-transformed dietary copper in hypertension was associated with longer telomere length (β = 237.95, 95% CI: 114.39, 361.51) in the age group >45 years. The grouping was based on whether the participants take medication for hypertension. We found that one unit increasing log-transformed dietary copper in hypertension was associated with longer telomere length (β = 116.47, 95% CI: 0.72, 232.21) in the group that takes medication for hypertension. CONCLUSIONS This study demonstrates that dietary copper intake was associated with longer telomere length in patients with hypertension, which provides evidence for guiding dietary copper intake in patients with hypertension. However, further studies are needed to evaluate the effect of copper supplementation on telomere length in patients with hypertension in well-designed random control studies and prospective studies.

Genetic characterization and clinical characteristics of bovine viral diarrhea viruses in cattle herds of Heilongjiang province, China. IRANIAN JOURNAL OF VETERINARY RESEARCH 2022; 23:69-73. [PMID: 35782353 PMCID: PMC9238938 DOI: 10.22099/ijvr.2021.38650.5625] [Citation(s) in RCA: 0] [Impact Index Per Article: 0] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [Key Words] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Received: 10/03/2020] [Revised: 11/24/2021] [Accepted: 12/12/2021] [Indexed: 06/15/2023]
Abstract
BACKGROUND Heilongjiang province is the main cattle-producing area in China, and molecular epidemiological studies of bovine viral diarrhea viruses (BVDV) in cattle have not been performed in the province. AIMS The objective of this research was to determine the genetic and clinical characteristics of BVDV in cattle. METHODS Fifty-three BVDV-positive clinical samples were collected from 22 cattle farms in Heilongjiang, and the 5´-untranslated region (5´-UTR) was used to carry out a phylogenetic analysis of the viruses. RESULTS The similarity of the 5´-UTR sequences among these BVDVs was 84.2%-100%, and the phylogenetic analysis showed that all viruses belong to the BVDV-1 species, which is classified into five subtypes: BVDV-1b (47.17%, n=25), 1c (15.09%, n=8), 1d (16.98%, n=9), 1 m (3.77%, n=2), and 1o (16.98%, n=9). The statistical results showed that the BVDV-1b subtype had a positive correlation with gastrointestinal disease (P<0.05; 95% CI: 1.19 to 3.34). There were up to three or four BVDV-1 subtypes in some dairy cattle farms, but farms with a single subtype were prevalent (5/10). CONCLUSION BVDV-1b is predominant in cattle herds of Heilongjiang province, China, and shows a positive correlation with gastrointestinal disease. BVDV-1o was found for the first time in Chinese cattle, which increased the complex distribution of BVDV-1 subtypes in cattle herds of China.

Search for Lepton-Flavor Violation in Z-Boson Decays with τ Leptons with the ATLAS Detector. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2021; 127:271801. Abstract
A search for lepton-flavor-violating Z→eτ and Z→μτ decays with pp collision data recorded by the ATLAS detector at the LHC is presented. This analysis uses 139 fb^{-1} of Run 2 pp collisions at sqrt[s]=13 TeV and is combined with the results of a similar ATLAS search in the final state in which the τ lepton decays hadronically, using the same data set as well as Run 1 data. The addition of leptonically decaying τ leptons significantly improves the sensitivity reach for Z→ℓτ decays. The Z→ℓτ branching fractions are constrained in this analysis to B(Z→eτ)<7.0×10^{-6} and B(Z→μτ)<7.2×10^{-6} at 95% confidence level. The combination with the previously published analyses sets the strongest constraints to date: B(Z→eτ)<5.0×10^{-6} and B(Z→μτ)<6.5×10^{-6} at 95% confidence level.

Abstract
The objective of this experiment was to evaluate the effects of supplementing a rumen-protected source of Met, N-acetyl-l-methionine (NALM), on lactational performance and nitrogen metabolism in early- to mid-lactation dairy cows. Sixty multiparous Holstein dairy cows in early lactation (27 ± 4.3 d in milk, SD) were assigned to 4 treatments in a randomized complete block design. Cows were blocked by actual milk yield. Treatments were as follows: (1) no NALM (control); (2) 15 g/d of NALM (NALM15); (3) 30 g/d of NALM (NALM30); and (4) 45 g/d of NALM (NALM45). Diets were formulated using a Cornell Net Carbohydrate and Protein System (CNCPS) v.6.5 model software to meet or exceed nutritional requirements of lactating dairy cows producing 42 kg/d of milk and to undersupply metabolizable Met (control) or supply incremental amounts of NALM. The digestible Met (dMet) supply for control, NALM15, NALM30, and NALM45 were 54.7, 59.8, 64.7, and 72.2 g/d, respectively. The supply of dMet was 88, 94, 104, and 115% of dMet requirement for control, NALM15, NALM30, and NALM45, respectively. Milk yield data were collected, dry matter intake (DMI) was measured daily, and milk samples were collected twice per week for 22 wk. Blood, ruminal fluid, urine, and fecal samples were collected during the covariate period and during wk 4, 8, and 16. Data were analyzed using the GLIMMIX procedure of SAS (SAS Institute) using covariates in the model for all variables except body weight. Linear, quadratic, and cubic contrasts were also tested. Treatments did not affect DMI, milk yield, and milk component concentration and yield; however, feed efficiency expressed as milk yield per DMI and 3.5% fat-corrected milk per DMI were quadratically affected, with greater response observed for NALM15 and NALM30 compared with control. Acetate proportion linearly increased, whereas propionate proportion linearly decreased with NALM supplementation. Blood urea nitrogen linearly decreased with NALM supplementation. Total plasma essential AA concentrations were quadratically affected, as greater values were observed for control and NALM45 than other treatments. Plasma Met concentration was quadratically affected as lower levels were observed with NALM15, whereas Met concentrations increased with NALM45 compared with control. Nitrogen utilization efficiency and apparent total-tract nutrient digestibility were not affected by treatment. Supplementation of NALM at 15 or 30 g/head per day resulted in the greatest improvements in feed efficiency without affecting N metabolism of early- to mid-lactation dairy cows.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the anti-tumor effect of BSA@CuS-PEG nanocomposites on tongue squamous cell carcinoma. METHODS Transmission electron microscopy, dynamic light scattering, Zeta potential and ultraviolet absorption spectroscopy were used to characterize the synthesized BSA@CuS-PEG nanocomposite, whose photothermal properties was assessed with near infrared Ⅱ region excitation light (1064 nm). The cytotoxicity of the nanocomposite in Cal27 and SCC9 cells was evaluated using CCK-8 assay, and its effect on cell cycle distribution was analyzed using flow cytometry. The in vivo antitumor effect of BSA@CuS-PEG was investigated in a Balb/c mouse model bearing subcutaneous Cal27 tumor xenograft. RESULTS The synthesized BSA@CuS-PEG nanocomposite showed a temperature variation (ΔT) of about 30 ℃ under near-infrared (NIR) irradiation (0.5 W/cm2), suggesting its excellent photothermal sensitivity. CCK-8 assay showed that BSA@CuS-PEG had no significant toxicity to tumor cells, but upon NIR irradiation, the nanocomposite produced a significant stronger inhibitory effect on Cal27 and SCC9 cells than free nanocomposites (P < 0.001). Cell cycle analysis showed that compared with free nanocomposites, BSA@CuS-PEG plus NIR irradiation caused more obvious cell cycle arrest at G2/M phase in tongue cancer cells (P < 0.001). In the tumor-bearing mice, BSA@CuS-PEG combined with NIR irradiation produced a significant anti-tumor effect as compared with saline treatment plus NIR irradiation (P < 0.001). CONCLUSION The BSA@CuS-PEG nanocomposite shows prominent photothermal properties and good anti-tumor effects both in vivo and in vitro, and thus provides a promising method for non-invasive early diagnosis and non-surgical treatment of primary tongue cancer.

Abstract
The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of autogenous dentin grafts with guided bone regeneration (GBR) for horizontal ridge augmentation. Nineteen patients with dentition and bone defects in whom tooth/teeth extraction was indicated were recruited. Autogenous teeth were prepared, fixed on the buccal sides of the defects, and covered with bone powder and resorbable membranes before implantation. The horizontal bone mass at 0 mm (W1), 3 mm (W2), and 6 mm (W3) from the alveolar crest was recorded using cone beam computed tomography, before, immediately after, and 6 months after dentin grafting. All adverse effects were recorded. The implant stability quotient (ISQ) was measured 6 months after implantation. Twenty-eight implants were placed 6 months after dentin grafting. At this time point, the bone mass was 4.72 ± 0.72 mm (W1), 7.35 ± 1.57 mm (W2), and 8.96 ± 2.38 mm (W3), which was significantly different from that before the surgery (P < 0.05). The bone gain was 2.50 ± 0.72 mm (W1), 4.10 ± 1.42 mm (W2), and 4.56 ± 2.09 mm (W3). No soft tissue dehiscence or infection was observed. Overall, 26.3% of the patients experienced severe pain after dentin grafting. The ISQ was 78.31 ± 6.64 at 6 months after implantation. Autogenous tooth roots with GBR might be effective for horizontal ridge augmentation. This technique could be an alternative to augmentation using autogenous bone grafts.

Abstract
Sulfonic acid groups with C3ν symmetry can coordinate with metal ions to produce multidimensional structures due to their flexible coordination modes. They can also penetrate into supramolecular structures through an intriguing bridging pattern and weak interactions. Herein, a novel heterocyclic sodium sulfonate supramolecular structure, namely [Na(Pyr-SO3)(H2O)]n where Pyr-SO3H is pyrazine sulfonic acid, is synthesized by utilizing NaBF4 to coordinate with the P–SO3H ligand through the solvent evaporation method. The single crystal X-ray diffraction (XRD) data indicate that the as-formed structure belongs to the Pbca space group. Additional properties are characterized by powder XRD, thermal analysis, and solid-state fluorescence. In particular, the introduction of a soft alkali metal ion can coordinate with the oxygen atom of the sulfonate ligand and form a Na–O bridging configuration that can not only significantly improve the pyrazine sulfonic acid ligand coordination ability, but also provide a reference for the extended study of functional sulfonate polymers in the future.

Abstract
Objective: Most patients with asymptomatic colorectal diverticulosis are easily overlooked. However, some of diverticulosis become diverticulitis, bleeding and even perforation, which cause extensive harm to patients. The purpose of this study is to analyze the incidence, clinical features, diagnosis and treatment of colorectal diverticulosis in order to improve the clinical understanding of diverticulosis and its related complications. Methods: A descriptive cohort study was carried out. Clinical data of 554 patients with colorectal diverticulosis confirmed by CT, colonoscopy, digestive tract radiography or operation in Peking University First Hospital from January 2009 to June 2019 were retrospectively analyzed. Patients with malignant tumors, autoimmune diseases, long term use of immunosuppressive drugs, chronic liver diseases and renal diseases, and mental disorders were excluded. The analysis parameters included gender, onset age, clinical symptoms, location of diverticulitis, treatment and prognosis. According to the criteria established by the World Society of Emergency Surgery (WSES), acute diverticulitis was divided into 5 stages based on the extension of the infectious process. Stage 0 was simple diverticulitis and stage 1-4 was complicated diverticulitis. Results: Among the 554 patients with colorectal diverticulosis, 358 (64.6%) were males, the median onset age was 63 years; 191 patients (34.5%) had various digestive symptoms, of whom 113 (20.4%) had chronic constipation and abdominal distension, 78 (14.1%) had chronic diarrhea and abdominal pain; the other 363 patients had no obvious abdominal symptoms. Four hundred and six patients were found by colonoscopy and 465 patients were found by CT. Twenty-five patients were diagnosed by lower gastrointestinal tract radiography and 3 were confirmed during operation. There were 339 patients with multiple diverticula (61.2%) and 215 patients with single diverticulum (38.8%). 76.5% (424/554) of diverticula were located in colon, 37.0% (205/554) in ascending colon, 21.3% (118/554) in multiple sites, and 2.2% (12/554) in rectum. The median diameter of diverticulum was 7 mm, and 78 cases (14.1%) was ≥30 mm. Forty-nine patients (8.8%) developed acute diverticulitis, including 13 patients with simple diverticulitis and 36 patients with complicated diverticulitis. Among 36 patients with complicated diverticulitis, 29 (80.6%) were males, 27 (75.0%) had recurrent abdominal pain and fever before onset; diverticula of 25 cases were located in sigmoid colon; 11 cases in ascending colon. Nine cases developed sigmoid colon perforation and 8 cases developed vesicocolonic fistula, and these 17 patients underwent surgical treatment. The other 19 cases with complicated diverticulitis developed gastrointestinal bleeding, of whom 18 cases were male, 11 cases were located in ascending colon; 13 cases were healed after conservative treatment, 4 cases received endoscopic hemostatic intervention, and 2 cases underwent surgery. Conclusions: Colorectal diverticulosis is more common in male patients, and CT and colonoscopy are main diagnostic methods. The symptoms of complicated colonic diverticulitis are related to the location of diverticulum. In addition to symptomatic treatment, surgical procedures are the most important treatments.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the relationship between V444A mutation of the ABCB11 gene and primary intrahepatic stone (PIS). Methods: A total of 164 patients (including 91 males and 73 females, with an average age of (46.0±13.0) years) with PIS and 164 healthy (including 99 males and 65 females, with an average age of (43.8±16.7) years) volunteers were enrolled in this case-control study between October 2017 and June 2019. TaqMan-MGB was used for detecting the V444A polymorphism site of the ABCB11 gene. All the genotypes and allele frequencies were calculated. Pearson chi-squared test was performed to detect the differences in allele and genotype distribution between the two groups. Logistic regression analysis was used to identify genotypes associated with PIS. Results: There was no significant difference in age and gender between the two groups(both P>0.05). The distributions of V444A allele and genotype accorded with Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium law (P=0.161), which indicated that the selected control group represented statistically acceptable sample. Two alleles of T and C, and three genotypes of TT, TC and CC were detected in the locus of V444A. The T and C allele frequencies in the PIS group and the control group were 28.4% vs 35.4%, and 71.6% vs 64.6%, respectively. The frequencies of the T and C alleles were not different between the two groups (P=0.054). The frequencies of TT, TC and CC genotypes in the two groups were 5.5%, 45.7%, 48.8%, and 14.6%, 41.5%, 43.9%, respectively, with significant difference between the two groups (P=0.023). Logistic regression analysis revealed the V444A polymorphism (TC heterozygous mutation) was associated with PIS. Conclusion: ABCB11 gene polymorphism at the site of V444A may be related to the susceptibility of PIS.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the changes of mitochondrial metabolic functions of macrophages following Echinococcus multilocularis infections, so as to provide insights into the pathogenesis of alveolar echinococcosis. METHODS Two groups were assigned according to different treatment methods. In the culture group, mouse leukemic monocyte macrophage RAW264.7 cells were cultured with 2 000 E. multilocularis at a ratio of 500∶1, while RAW264.7 cells in the control group were given no treatment. Then, both the culture and control groups were further divided into the 24 h and 72 h subgroups. Mitochondria were stained with MitoTracker® Deep Red FM and the mean fluorescence intensity of macrophage mitochondria was measured with the Cytation 5 Cell Imaging Multi-Mode Reader. The mitochondrial DNA copy number was quantified using the quantitative real-time PCR (qPCR) assay, and the mitochondrial energy metabolism was monitored using the Seahorse XF assay. In addition, the mitochondrial reactive oxygen species and mitochondrial membrane potential were detected using flow cytometry. RESULTS The mean fluorescence intensities of macrophage mitochondria were significantly lower in the 24 h (15 341 ± 2 532 vs. 17 823 ± 3 429; t = 6.379, P < 0.01) and 72 h (18 102 ± 3 505 vs. 21 511 ± 5 144; t = 17.680, P < 0.01) culture subgroups than in the corresponding control subgroups, and lower mitochondrial DNA copy numbers were measured in the 72 h culture subgroup than in the 72 h control group [(3.23 × 109 ± 1.78 × 107) vs. (4.39 × 109 ± 3.70 × 107); t = 8.85, P < 0.001]. The oxygen consumption rates were significantly greater in the 24 h [(241.70 ± 73.13) pmol/min vs. (69.05 ± 52.30) pmol/min; t = 7.89, P < 0.01] and 48 h culture groups [(249.50 ± 42.06) pmol/min vs. (60.28 ± 40.66) pmol/min; t = 8.64, P < 0.01] than in the corresponding control groups, and a higher extracellular acidification rate was seen in the 48 h culture group than in the 48 h control group ([ 111.6 ± 17.49) mpH/min vs. (35.05 ± 7.57) mpH/min; t = 16.90, P < 0.01]. In addition, flow cytometry detected higher mean fluorescence intensity of mitochondrial reactive oxygen species (58 264 ± 10 087 vs. 4 307 ± 97; t = 12.930, P < 0.01) and lower mitochondrial membrane potential (9.833% ± 2.285% vs. 2.667% ± 0.208%; t = 6.645, P < 0.01) in the 72 h culture group than in the control group. CONCLUSIONS E. multilocularis infection may impair mitochondrial functions and inhibit oxidative phosphorylation of macrophages, resulting in increased macrophage glycolysis. It is speculated that the alteration of macrophage metabolic states may contribute to the mechanisms underlying the development and progression of alveolar echinococcosis.

Abstract
Objective: The surgical indications, resection extent and management principle of lateral lymph node dissection (LLND) in lower rectal cancer have been controversial between Eastern and Western countries. This study aims to provide a theoretical basis for the rational implementation of LLND by reviewing the changes of LLND strategy over the past 30 years in a single-center, and analyzing prognostic factors for the survival outcomes of patients with lateral lymph node metastasis (LLNM). Methods: A retrospective observational study was performed. Clinical data of 289 patients with rectal cancer who received LLND at the Department of General Surgery of Peking University First Hospital from 1990 to 2019 were collected. Patients were divided into three groups based on decades. There were 89 cases in 1990-1999 group, 92 cases in the 2000-2009 group, and 108 cases in the 2010-2019 group. Data analyzed: (1) patient baseline data; (2) surgery and postoperative recovery; (3) lateral lymph node dissection; (4) postoperative survival and prognosis of patients with positive lateral lymph nodes. The surgical methods and pathological results of LLND were compared between groups, and the prognostic risk factors of patients with LLNM were analyzed. Results: A total of 289 patients underwent radical resection with LLND' accounting for 6.3% of the 4542 patients with rectal cancer during the same period in our hospital. Except decade-by-decade increase in tumors with distance from anal verge ≤ 7 cm, the proportion of ulcerated tumors, and the proportion of neoadjuvant radiochemotherapy, the differences in other baseline data were not statistically significant among 3 decade groups (all P>0.05). The proportion of LLND in the 3 groups decreased decade by decade [9.9% (89/898) vs. 8.0% (92/1154) vs. 4.3% (108/2490), χ(2)=40.159, P<0.001]. The proportion of laparoscopic surgery and unilateral LLND increased, while the mean operative time, intraoperative blood loss, surgical complications above grade III and postoperative hospital stay decreased decade by decade. These 289 patients completed a total of 483 lateral dissections, including 95 cases of the unilateral dissection and 194 cases of the bilateral dissection. The proportion of LLND in the 3 groups decreased decade by decade [9.9% (89/898) vs. 8.0% (92/1154) vs. 4.3% (108/2510), P<0.001]. The median number of dissected lymph nodes in the internal iliac artery and obturator regions increased (2 vs. 3 vs. 3, P<0.001), but those in the common iliac and external iliac regions decreased significantly (4 vs. 3 vs. 2, P=0.014). A total of 71 patients with LLNM were identified. The rate of LLNM in the 2010-2019 group was significantly higher than that in the previous two groups [37.0% (40/108) vs. 16.9% (15/89) vs. 17.4% (16/92), P=0.001]. The patients with LLNM showed a poorer overall survival (OS) and disease-free survival (DFS) compared with negative lateral lymph nodes (P<0.001). There were statistically significant differences in 5-year OS rate (30.9% vs. 27.2% vs. 0, P=0.028) and 5-year DFS rate (28.3% vs. 16.0% vs. 0, P=0.038) among patients with only internal iliac lymph node metastasis, patients with only obturator lymph node metastasis, and patients with external iliac or common iliac lymph node metastasis. Multivariate analysis of prognostic factors showed that external iliac or common iliac lymph node metastasis was an independent risk factor for OS (HR=1.649, 95%CI: 1.087-2.501) and DFS (HR=1.714, 95%CI: 1.173-2.504) in patients with LLNM (all P<0.05) . The OS and DFS were not significant different in patients with LLNM among 3 decade groups. Conclusions: In the past decade, the proportion of LLND in rectal cancer has decreased significantly. However, LLNM rate has been significantly increased due to preoperative imaging assessments focusing on suspicious LLNM without compromising the survival. Internal iliac artery and obturator lymph nodes can be regarded as regional lymph nodes with a satisfactory prognosis after LLND. For suspected external iliac or common iliac lymph node metastasis, the significance of LLND remains to be further evaluated.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the diagnostic efficacy of technetium-99m methoxyisobutylisonitrile single photon emission/ computed tomography (99mTc- MIBI SPECT/CT), 99mTc- MIBI double- phase scintigraphy (DPS) DPS and ultrasound (US) in preoperative localization of hyperparathyroidism (HPT) and explore the factors affecting the diagnostic efficacy of 99mTc-MIBI SPECT/CT. METHODS We retrospectively analyzed the data of 104 patients with HPT undergoing surgical resection between January, 2015 and July, 2019. Preoperative 99mTc-MIBI imaging was performed in all the patients, and 82 patients also received US examination preoperatively. Semi-quantitative analysis was used to draw the region of interest and calculate the lesion/ ipsilateral deltoid muscle (T/NT) uptake ratio. The sensitivity and detection performance of 99mTc-MIBI SPECT/CT, DPS and US in the diagnosis of HPT patients were compared, and the correlations of the T/NT ratios of parathyroid adenoma (PA) and parathyroid hyperplasia (PH) with the expression levels of COX-2 and Bcl-2 were analyzed. RESULTS The diagnostic sensitivity of 99mTc- MIBI SPECT/CT, DPS and US for HPT was 95.19% (99/104), 91.3% (95/104) and 81.71% (67/82), respectively, demonstrating a significantly higher diagnostic sensitivity of 99mTc-MIBI SPECT/CT than US (χ2=9.59, P=0.008). For PH lesions, 99mTc-MIBI SPECT/CT had the highest diagnostic sensitivity, followed by DPS and then by US (P < 0.05), but their sensitivity did not differ significantly for PA (P>0.05). The T/NT ratio in fatty hyperplastic glands was significantly lower than that in fat-free hyperplastic glands (P=0.009). In PA, Bcl-2 expression was significantly lower in false negative lesions than in true positive lesions (P=0.046), but Cox-2 expression did not show such a difference (P>0.05). In PH lesions, the expressions of Bcl-2 and Cox- 2 did not differ significantly between false negative than true positive lesions (P>0.05). CONCLUSIONS 99mTc-MIBI SPECT/CT has a high sensitivity for HPT localization, and the T/NT ratio is positively correlated with the lesion volume. An increased expression of Bcl-2 in PA lesions and a decreased cell fat content in PH lesions can facilitate the detection of HPT glands by 99mTc-MIBI SPECT/CT.

Abstract
An engineered Pichia pastoris GS115 with a FIP-glu gene was mutated using ultraviolet (UV) radiation, and a high-throughput screening method was established for screening of high-yield strains. Meanwhile, a preliminary study was conducted to determine the bioactivity of the rFIP-glu. Based on OD600 value and the mortality of engineered P. pastoris GS115, the best UV irradiation time was determined. Bradford method and SDS-PAGE method were employed to analyze the concentration and yield of rFIP-glu. Melanoma B16 cells were employed to evaluate the biological activities of rFIP-glu in vitro. Results showed that the protein yield of the best mutant #4-336 screened from 3680 mutant strains increased from 242 to 469 μg ml-1 . In vitro assays of biological activity indicated that rFIP-glu had significant toxicity and possessed the ability to affect melanin content and enhance tyrosinase activity in B16 cells. In conclusion, an effective high-throughput screening approach was established for screening mutant strains. The screened mutant possesses a good ability to enhance the production of rFIP-glu, and recombinant proteins display a better biological activity on melanoma B16 cells. The engineered P. pastoris mutant seems promising as a potential source for industrial production of rFIP-glu and should be a candidate industrial strain for further study.

Abstract
Trapped ions are one of the leading platforms in quantum information science. For quantum computing with large circuit depth and quantum simulation with long evolution time, it is of crucial importance to cool large ion crystals at runtime without affecting the internal states of the computational qubits, thus the necessity of sympathetic cooling. Here, we report multi-ion sympathetic cooling on a long ion chain using a narrow cooling beam focused on two adjacent ions, and optimize the choice of the cooling ions according to the collective oscillation modes of the chain. We show that, by cooling a small fraction of ions, cooling effects close to the global Doppler cooling limit can be achieved. This experiment therefore demonstrates an important enabling step for quantum information processing with large ion crystals.

Search for New Phenomena in Final States with Two Leptons and One or No b-Tagged Jets at sqrt[s]=13 TeV Using the ATLAS Detector. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2021; 127:141801. Abstract
A search for new phenomena is presented in final states with two leptons and one or no b-tagged jets. The event selection requires the two leptons to have opposite charge, the same flavor (electrons or muons), and a large invariant mass. The analysis is based on the full run-2 proton-proton collision dataset recorded at a center-of-mass energy of sqrt[s]=13 TeV by the ATLAS experiment at the LHC, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 139 fb^{-1}. No significant deviation from the expected background is observed in the data. Inspired by the B-meson decay anomalies, a four-fermion contact interaction between two quarks (b, s) and two leptons (ee or μμ) is used as a benchmark signal model, which is characterized by the energy scale and coupling, Λ and g_{*}, respectively. Contact interactions with Λ/g_{*} lower than 2.0 (2.4) TeV are excluded for electrons (muons) at the 95% confidence level, still far below the value that is favored by the B-meson decay anomalies. Model-independent limits are set as a function of the minimum dilepton invariant mass, which allow the results to be reinterpreted in various signal scenarios.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To detect the changes in the number and phenotype of tumor infiltrating immune cells in rectal cancer tissues before and after neoadjuvant concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CRT) and analyze their correlation with the clinicopathological parameters of the patients. METHODS The protein expressions of CD3, CD4, CD8, CD56 and Foxp3 in biopsy specimens and postoperative pathological specimens collected from 20 rectal cancer patients before and after neoadjuvant CRT were detected using ElivisionTM Plus immunohistochemistry, and the results were statistically analyzed. RESULTS Compared with the measurements before the therapy, neoadjuvant CRT resulted in significant increments in CD3 (21.8% vs 48.8%, P < 0.001), CD4(16.5% vs 42.2%, P < 0.001), CD8(8.3% vs 33.4%, P < 0.001)and CD56(0 vs 7.6%, P=0.012), obvious reduction in Foxp3 expression(26.0% vs 15.3%, P=0.005), but no significant changes in CD4/CD8 ratio of(2.7 vs 5.1).Multivariate analysis showed that the increase of CD3-positive cells(HR=0.16, P=0.028)and CD8-positive cells(HR=0.03, P=0.001)was positively correlated with the disease-free survival of the patients after the operation. CONCLUSION Neoadjuvant CRT can significantly increase the proportions of infiltrating immune cells positive for CD3, CD4, CD8 and CD56 and decrease the proportion of Treg lymphocytes in the tumor tissues in patients with rectal cancer. The patients with increased CD3-and CD8-positive T lymphocytes may have longer disease-free survival after the surgery.

Abstract
One of the most cost-effective measures in cancer prevention on cancer is to advocate to be aware of the disease, consciously changing negative behaviors, and taking the initiative to participate in regular physical checkup programs. Esophageal cancer is one of the malignant tumors accompanied by a heavy disease burden in China. Routine screening, early diagnosis, and treatment are the critical points of preventing and treating the disease. Cohort studies help understand the natural history and risk factors of esophageal cancer and identify high-risk groups of the disease. This paper intends to discuss the construction specifications of the multi-dimensional dynamic follow-up shared cohort for esophageal cancer by studying the risk factors, monitoring, and collecting biological sample information, providing references for developing a standardized and unified screening cohort research procedure, and necessary standards on esophageal cancer in the future.
