Abstract
Almost all functions of cells or organs rely on the activities of cellular enzymes. Indeed, the in-vivo activities that directly represent the cellular effects of enzymes in live organs are critical importance to appreciate the roles enzymes play in modulating physiological or pathological processes, although assessments of such in-vivo enzyme activity are more difficult than typical test-tube assays. Recently, we, for the first time, developed a direct and easy-handling method for HPLC analyzing the in-vivo activity of glucosylceramide synthase (GCS). GCS that converts ceramide into glucosylceramide is a limiting-enzyme in the syntheses of glycosphingolipids and is one cause of cancer drug resistance. In our method developed, rubusoside nanomicelles delivers fluorescence N-[6-[(7-nitro-2,1,3-benzoxadiazol-4-yl)amino]hexanoyl]-d-erythro-sphingosine (NBD C6-ceramide) into mice, tissues uptake the cell-permeable substrate, and GCS converts it into NBD C6-glucosylceramide in all organs simultaneously. Further, HPLC analyzes the extracted NBD C6-glucosylceramide to assess alterations of the in-vivo GCS activities in tissues. This method can be broadly used to assess the in-vivo GCS activities in any kind of animal models to appreciate either the role GCS plays in diseases or the therapeutic efficacies of GCS inhibitors.

Abstract
Objective: Safety and immunogenicity regarding simultaneous vaccination on both hepatitis E and hepatitis B vaccines were studied. Methods: A total of 600 healthy subjects aged 18-60 were recruited in Chaoyang district of Beijing city, from September 2015 to December 2016. Subjects meeting the inclusion and exclusion criteria were randomly divided into 3 groups: the simultaneous vaccination group of hepatitis E and hepatitis B, the hepatitis B vaccination group and the hepatitis E vaccination group. Members of the 3 groups were all inoculated according to the procedure of '0, 1 and 6 months'. Safety and immunogenicity of the simultaneous vaccination group was compared with the individual vaccination groups. Results: Vaccination groups had 601 subjects, involved with having 150 subjects of hepatitis E vaccination group, 159 subjects of hepatitis B vaccination group, and 292 subjects of simultaneous vaccination of hepatitis E and hepatitis B. Local adverse reactions that mostly common seen, would include pain (25.0%, 73/292), redness (12.7%, 37/292), pruritus (9.2%, 27/292), callus (8.9%, 26/292), swelling (8.2%, 24/292) at the inoculation sites. Systemic adverse reactions would include fever (7.2%, 21/292), headache (5.8%, 17/292), muscle pain (5.5%, 16/292) and fatigue (3.4%, 10/292). No serious adverse reactions associated with vaccination were seen. In addition to the higher incidence of pain at the inoculation sites, rest of the adverse reactions was similar to the simultaneous vaccination group or the individual vaccination groups. One month after the completed immunization process, positive rate and geometric mean concentration(GMC) of the HBsAb were not inferior to that of the hepatitis B vaccine group (94.2% vs. 93.8%, 611.6 WU/ml vs. 745.1 WU/ml). Positive rate and GMC of the HEV IgG were not inferior to that of the hepatitis E vaccinated group (98.8% vs. 100.0%, 11.0 WU/ml vs. 18.0 WU/ml). Conclusions: Simultaneous vaccination strategy on hepatitis E and hepatitis B vaccines showed good safety and immunogenicity. It is recommended that hepatitis E and hepatitis B vaccines should be administered to the susceptible population at the same time, in order to protect the liver functions.

Abstract
Objective: To examine the plasma fibroblast growth factor-23 (FGF-23) concentration in children with primary hypertension and to investigate the association between plasma FGF-23 and subclinical cardiovascular damages, and to identify its predictive value for diagnosis. Methods: With prospective study,77 patients (61 males and 16 females) who were diagnosed as primary hypertension with the average age of (11.8±2.2) years were enrolled with informed consent in Children's Hospital,Capital Institute of Pediatrics from October 2016 to December 2017. Carotid wall intima-media thickness (cIMT) measured by Doppler ultrasound and left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) identified by echocardiography were assessed as parameters of subclinical cardiovascular damages. Patients were divided into increased cIMT group (n=18) and normal cIMT group (n=46) (64 patients with complete data of cIMT). According to left ventricular geometry, patients were divided into LVH group (n=27) and normal geometry group (n=50). Concentration of plasma FGF-23 was detected in all children by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay test. Mann-Whitney U test was used to compare plasma levels of FGF-23 between groups. Kendall's tau-b correlation coefficient was used to analyze the correlation between plasma FGF-23 and cIMT/LVH. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was used to analyze the value of plasma FGF-23 in the prediction of subclinical cardiovascular damage. Results: The concentration of plasma FGF-23 in the increased cIMT group was higher than that in the normal cIMT group (55.6 (46.2,63.5) vs. 48.6 (39.4, 57.3) ×10(3) RU/L, Z=-2.143, P=0.032) . Also, plasma FGF-23 showed positive correlation with cIMT(r=0.222, P=0.032). According to ROC curve analysis, the cutoff value of plasma FGF-23 for prediction of increased cIMT was 53.9×10(3) RU/L (55.6% sensitivity and 71.7% specificity). The concentration of plasma FGF-23 in the LVH group was significantly higher than that in normal geometry group (55.0 (46.8, 65.7) vs. 48.2 (39.5, 56.0)×10(3) RU/L, Z=-2.375, P=0.018). And,plasma FGF-23 was correlated positively with LVH (r=0.224, P=0.018). The concentration of plasma FGF-23 in patients with concentric remodeling (n=10) was significantly higher than that of the normal geometry group (56.9 (49.6, 66.3) vs. 48.2 (39.5,56.0) ×10(3) RU/L, Z=-2.093, P=0.036). According to ROC curve analysis, the cutoff value of plasma FGF-23 for prediction of LVH was 49.1×10(3) RU/L (70.4% sensitivity and 60.0% specificity). Conclusion: The concentration of plasma FGF-23 in children with primary hypertension was correlated positively with LVH and cIMT and had certain predictive value of diagnosis for subclinical cardiovascular damages.

Abstract
Objective: To analyze the trends on constituent ratio of non-ST-segment-elevation (NSTEMI) and ST-segment-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) and related in-hospital mortality in acute myocardial infarction (AMI) patients hospitalized in Beijing Anzhen Hospital from 2004 to 2014. Methods: This is a single-center, retrospective study. We reviewed all patients hospitalized for AMI in Beijing Anzhen Hospital from January 1 2004 to December 31 2014, and collected all related information including hospitalization stay, the type of AMI, revascularization and in-hospital mortality. We analyzed the trends of constituent ratio of NSTEMI and STEMI, and their in-hospital mortalities during the 11 years. Results: Data from a total of 23 864 patients with AMI, including 5 539 STEMI and 18 325 NSTEMI, were analyzed. Compared with STEMI patients, NSTEMI patients were older, less likely to be male (P<0.001), had higher prevalence of hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes (P<0.001), and lower prevalence of smoking (P<0.001). Additionally, patients with NSTEMI were more likely to have prior history of MI (12.6% (695/5 539) vs. 7.4% (1 354/18 325), P<0.001) and coronary artery bypass graft surgery (2.7% (152/5 539) vs. 0.7% (124/18 325), P<0.001). The constituent ratio of NSTEMI was significantly increased during the observation period, rising from 15.8% (107/802) in 2004 to 35.7% (1 273/3 583) in 2014 (P value for trend <0.001). The in-hospital mortality of NSTEMI patients was significantly lower compared with those with STEMI (1.84% (102 cases) vs. 2.74% (502 cases), P<0.001). The mortality of both STEMI and NSTEMI were significantly decreased during the 11 years (both P value for χ(2) trend test <0.001). After adjusting for other risk factors, NSTEMI was independently associated with lower in-hospital mortality (OR=0.50, 95%CI 0.40-0.63, P<0.001). Conclusions: In patients with AMI, the constituent ratio of NSTEMI versus STEMI is increased during the 11 years. The in-hospital mortality is decreased for both STEMI and NSTEMI patients in the past 11 years, and the in-hospital mortality rate of NSTEMI patients is lower than STEMI patients in this patient cohort during the observation period.

Abstract
Extra-articular distal tibial fractures as a result of high-energy damage are often comminuted or displaced, frequently accompanied by severe soft tissue injuries.Poor blood supply and various complications make the treatment more difficult, affecting life quality of the patients. The main goals of the treatment are to abtain a healed,well-aligned fracture, functional range of motion of the ankle joint and minimizing complications. It is generally recommended that surgical treatment be performed in the proper context of local conditions to facilitate early functional exercise.Plate fixation and intramedullary nail fixation are the common options for closed fractures. This article focuses on the two treatment methods and some important auxiliary technologies in both domestic and foreign, hoping to provide some references for clinical treatment.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the influence of conventional preoperative intestinal preparation and unplanned preparation on the visual field of pelvic organ prolapse repair surgery. Methods: The patients who underwent transvaginal pelvic organ prolapse repair surgery in Peking University People's Hospital from September 2017 to July 2018 were selected as the research objects except those who had undergone colorectal surgery and chronic constipation. The surgery doctor was blinded by intestinal preparation. There was no intestinal preparation in non intestinal preparation group and polyethylene glycol was taken orally in intestinal preparation group. The main outcome measures were the effect of intestinal contents on the surgical field, the presence of fecal leakage, and the nature and volume of fecal leakage. The standard of fecal contamination was: mild, less than 15 ml, moderate, 15-30 ml, and severe, >30 ml. Secondary indicators were patient satisfaction and symptoms of routine bowel preparation. Results: A total of 120 patients (60 cases of non intestinal preparation group, 60 cases of intestinal preparation group) were selected, including transvaginal hysterectomy, vaginal anterior or posterior colporrhaphy (some patients with anterior prolapse repair with mesh), sacrospinal ligament suspension, total colpectomy and colpocleisis, laparoscopic sacral colpopexy, anti-incontinence surgery. The median age of the patients in non intestinal preparation group was 62 years, and the median age of intestinal preparation group was 60 years. There were no significant differences in median age, anesthesia, operation method, blood loss, operation time and perioperative infection between the two groups (all P>0.05). Fecal contamination occurred in 10% (6/60) of the patients without intestinal preparation and 32% (19/60) of the patients with intestinal preparation (P=0.042). Comparing the two groups, 10% (6/60) of the patients with intestinal preparation had moderate and severe contamination, and the patients without intestinal preparation was only 2% (1/60), there was significant difference (P=0.017). In intestinal preparation group, nausea (8%, 5/60), vomiting (5%, 3/60), abdominal distension (22%, 13/60), fatigue (5%, 3/60) and palpitation (2%, 1/60) were higher than those in non intestinal preparation group. Conclusions: Intestinal preparation with oral laxatives before pelvic organ prolapse repair surgery is not beneficial to the cleaning of the surgical field and increases the discomfort of intestinal preparation. It is safe and feasible for most patients with pelvic organ prolapse to perform pelvic organ prolapse repair surgery without intestinal preparation.

Abstract
Immunoglobulin G4-related sialadenitis (IgG4-RS) is a newly recognized immune-mediated disease and one of immunoglobulin G4-related diseases (IgG4-RD). Our multidisciplinary research group investigated the clinicopathological characteristics and diagnosis of IgG4-RS during the past 10 years. Clinically, it showed multiple bilateral enlargement of major salivary glands (including sublingual and accessory parotid glands) and lacrimal glands. The comorbid diseases of head and neck region including rhinosinusitis, allergic rhinitis, and lymphadenopathy were commonly seen, which could occur more early than enlargement of major salivary glands. Internal organ involvements, such as autoimmune pancreatitis, sclerosing cholangitis, and interstitial pneumonia could also be seen. Thirty-five (38.5%) patients had the symptom of xerostomia. Saliva flow at rest was lower than normal. Secretory function was reduced more severely in the submandibular glands than in the parotid glands. Serum levels of IgG4 were elevated in almost all the cases and the majority of the patients had increased IgE levels. CT, ultrasonography, and sialography showed their imaging characteristics. Histologically it showed marked lymphoplasmacytic inflammation, large irregular lymphoid follicles with expanded germinal centers, prominent cellular interlobular fibrosis, eosinophil infiltration, and obliterative phlebitis. Their immunohistological examination showed marked IgG-positive and IgG4-positive plasma cell infiltration and high IgG4/IgG ratio. The disease could be divided into three stages according to severity of glandular fibrosis. The serum IgG4 level was higher and the saliva secretion lower as glandular fibrosis increased. IgG4-RS should be differentiated from other diseases with enlargement of major salivary gland and lacrimal gland, such as primary Sjögren syndrome, chronic obstructive submandibular sialadenitis, and eosinophilic hyperplastic lymphogranuloma.

Abstract
Dysregulation of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR)/human epidermal growth factor-2 (HER2) family is a hallmark of aggressive breast cancer. Small-molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitors are among the most effective cancer targeted treatments. (−)-Oleocanthal (OC) is a naturally occurring phenolic secoiridoid lead from extra-virgin olive oil with documented anti-cancer activities via targeting mesenchymal epithelial transition factor (c-Met). Dysregulation of c-Met promotes aggressiveness to breast cancer-targeted therapies. Lapatinib (LP) is an FDA-approved dual EGFR/HER2 inhibitor for HER2-amplified breast cancer. HER2-Positive tumor cells can escape targeted therapies like LP effects by overexpressing c-Met. Combined OC-LP treatment is hypothesized to be mechanistically synergistic against HER2-overexpressing breast cancer. Combined sub-effective treatments of OC-LP resulted in synergistic anti-proliferative effects against the HER2-positive BT-474 and SK-BR-3 breast cancer cell lines, compared to OC or LP monotherapy. Antibody array and Western blot analysis showed that combined OC-LP treatment significantly inhibited EGFR, HER2, and c-Met receptor activation, as well as multiple downstream signaling proteins, compared to individual OC or LP treatment. OC-LP Combination significantly inhibited invasion and migration of breast cancer cells through reduced activation of focal adhesion kinase (FAK) and paxillin. Combined treatment of OC-10 mg/kg with LP-12.5 mg/kg suppressed more than 90% of BT-474 tumor cells growth in a nude mouse xenograft model, compared to individual OC or LP treatment. Activated c-Met, EGFR, HER2, and protein kinase B (AKT) were significantly suppressed in combination-treated mice tumors, compared to OC or LP monotherapy. This study reveals the OC future potential as combination therapy to sensitize HER2-overexpressing breast cancers and significantly reduce required doses of targeted HER family therapeutics.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the correlation between blood pressure variability (BPV) and target organ damage in children with essential hypertension. Methods: A retrospective review identified 144 children (104 boys (72.2%) and 40 girls (27.8%), age (11.7±2.5)years) diagnosed with essential hypertension at Children's Hospital Affiliated to Capital Institute of Pediatrics from January 2013 to June 2018. Data on indicators for assessing fundus, cardiac, and renal damages obtained included 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, BPV, fundus oculi examination, electrocardiogram, echocardiography, renal function, 24-hour urine protein quantitation, urine microalbumin, serum and urine β(2)-microglobulin. According to the existence of target organ damage, subjects were divided into target organ damage group and non-target organ damage group. Comparison between groups was analyzed using independent sample t test, chi square test and pearson correlation analysis. Results: The study included 144 children. There were 108 children (75.0%) diagnosed with phase 1 hypertension and 36 children (25.0%) diagnosed with phase 2 hypertension. Patients in target organ damage group (n=86, 59.7%) had a higher coefficient of 24 h diastolic BPV (14.5%±3.2% vs. 13.2%±2.5% t=2.558, P=0.012), a higher coefficient of daytime systolic BPV (8.2%±2.1% vs. 7.4%±2.0%, t=2.253, P=0.026) and a higher coefficient of daytime diastolic BPV (12.8%±3.4% vs.11.1%±2.4%, t=3.188, P=0.002) compared with patients in non-target organ damage group (n=58, 40.3%). The coefficients of daytime systolic BPV and daytime diastolic BPV were significantly associated with cardiac damage (r=0.190, P=0.023; r=0.366, P<0.01) and renal damage (r=0.167, P=0.046; r=0.167, P=0.045). The coefficient of daytime diastolic BPV was positively correlated with left ventricular mass index (r=0.366, P<0.01). Conclusions: There is a correlation between BPV and target organ damage in children with essential hypertension. Daytime BPV is strongly associated with cardiac and renal damage, and daytime diastolic BPV may predict early cardiac hypertrophy. As a noninvasive method, daytime BPV can provide evidence for early identification of hypertensive target organ damage.

An N 6-methyladenosine at the transited codon 273 of p53 pre-mRNA promotes the expression of R273H mutant protein and drug resistance of cancer cells. Biochem Pharmacol 2018; 160:134-145. Abstract
Mutant p53 proteins that promote cancer cell invasive growth, metastasis and drug resistance emerge as therapeutic targets. Previously, we reported that suppression of ceramide glycosylation restored wild-type p53 protein and tumor suppressing function in cancer cells heterozygously carrying p53 R273H, a hot-spot missense mutation; however, the mechanisms underlying the control of mutant protein expression remain elusive. Herein, we report that an N6-methyladenosine (m6A) at the point-mutated codon 273 (G > A) of p53 pre-mRNA determines the mutant protein expression. Methylation of the transited adenosine was catalyzed by methyltransferase like 3 (METTL3), and this m6A-RNA promoted a preferential pre-mRNA splicing; consequently, the produced p53 R273H mutant protein resulted in acquired multidrug resistance in colon cancer cells. Furthermore, glycosphingolipids (particularly globotriaosylceramide) generated from serial ceramide glycosylation were seen to activate cSrc and β-catenin signaling so as to upregulate METTL3 expression, in turn promoting expression of p53 R273H mutant protein, with consequent drug resistance. Conversely, either silencing METTL3 expression by using small interfering RNA (siRNA) or inhibiting RNA methylation with neplanocin A suppressed m6A formation in p53 pre-mRNA, and substantially increased the level of phosphorylated p53 protein (Ser15) and its function in cells heterozygously carrying the R273H mutation, thereby re-sensitizing these cells to anticancer drugs. Concordantly, suppression of ceramide glycosylation repressed METTL3 expression and m6A formation in p53 pre-mRNA, thus sensitizing cells carrying R273H to anticancer drugs. This study uncovers a novel function of pre-mRNA m6A as a determinant of mutant protein expression in cancer cells heterozygously carrying the TP53 R273H mutation. Suppressing both RNA methylation and ceramide glycosylation might constitute an efficacious and specific approach for targeting TP53 missense mutations coding for a G > A transition, thereby improving cancer treatments.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To comprehend clinical features and patient's physician visit patterns at onset of immunoglobulin G4 related disease (IgG4RD). METHODS In the study, 100 patients with IgG4RD who received treatments in the Department of Rheumatology and Immunology of Peking University People's Hospital from Apr. 1st, 2017 to Apr. 1st, 2018 were investigated, including gender, age, height, body weight, age of onset, physician visit history, primary history and how did the disease affected their life, etc. RESULTS: In this 100 IgG4RD cohort (57 males and 43 females), the male/female ratio was 1:0.75, the mean age of onset was (51.51±12.9) years, and the median duration was 49 months (ranging from 4 to 231 months). The onset age of males was significantly older than that of females (P<0.01). The manifestations showed that up to 69% patients had submaxillay glands lesion, 59% patients had lacrimal glands lesion, 28% patients had pancreas involvement and 28% patients had parotid glands involvement. The females had more lacrimal glands involvement (P<0.05). 62% patients were complicated with anaphylactic disease. The primary physician visit departments concentrated upon general surgery department (19/100), oral and maxillofacial surgery department (17/100), rheumatology and immunology department (16/100), ophthalmology department (15/100) and gastroenterology department (10/100). The departments where the confirmed diagnose was made concentrated upon rheumatology department (67/100),oral and maxillofacial surgery department (16/100) and gastroenterology department (7/100). The mean diagnosis duration after 2010 was (16.96±2.163) months, significantly shorter than that before 2010, which was (113.3±11.01) months. Before the definite diagnose was made, 43% patients underwent surgeries and 12% patients had more than one time surgeries. The patients whose first-visit department was a surgery department were more likely to undergo surgeries (P<0.01). 18% patients (18/100) stated that the disease had affected their work. CONCLUSION In this cohort of the IgG4RD patients, female is common and has earlier onset age than male. The major manifestations of IgG4RD are salivary glands, lacrimal glands and pancreas involvement. The common chief complains are salivary glands and lacrimal glands enlargement. Accompanied by anaphylactic disease is a marked manifestation of this disease. Delayed diagnoses are not rare, though this situation has been improved since 2010, and more attention still should be paid to the disease.

Abstract
Noble metal nanoparticles (NPs) such as Au and Ag have shown many applications in the field of catalysis, sensing etc. due to their excellent photoelectric properties. But agglomeration and a low recovery rate are big problems for their applications. In this research, a novel Ag NPs/graphene (reduced graphene oxide)-loading loofah sponge (Ag NPs/RGO-LS) was synthesized through a one-step reduction method. Where the RGO is used as a nano-support with the high specific surface area and the high conductivity to prevent the agglomeration of Ag NPs and provide a conductive layer. The natural, green, low-cost and high-yield LS is designed as a macro-support to reduce the loss of Ag NPs during recycling. The as-prepared Ag NPs/RGO-LS is stable, uniform, and exhibits high efficiency and reusability in the catalytic reduction of 4-nitrophenol (4-NP) with a high rate constant of 1.893 min-1 as well as an average conversion of 98% in 6 min during five cycles. The results have not only paved the way for the wide application of Ag NPs but also provide a new road for the application of other metal NPs.

Abstract
In this article, multiple eigen-systems including linear growth rates and eigen-functions have been discovered for the Rayleigh-Taylor instability (RTI) by numerically solving the Sturm-Liouville eigen-value problem in the case of two-dimensional plane geometry. The system called the first mode has the maximal linear growth rate and is just extensively studied in literature. Higher modes have smaller eigen-values, but possess multi-peak eigen-functions which bring on multiple pairs of vortices in the vorticity field. A general fitting expression for the first four eigen-modes is presented. Direct numerical simulations show that high modes lead to appearances of multi-layered spike-bubble pairs, and lots of secondary spikes and bubbles are also generated due to the interactions between internal spikes and bubbles. The present work has potential applications in many research and engineering areas, e.g., in reducing the RTI growth during capsule implosions in inertial confinement fusion.

Abstract
Non-melanoma skin cancers (NMSCs) are the leading cause of skin cancer-related morbidity and mortality. Effective strategies are needed to control NMSC occurrence and progression. Non-toxic, plant-derived extracts have been shown to exert multiple anti-cancer effects. Graviola (Annona muricata), a tropical fruit-bearing plant, has been used in traditional medicine against multiple human diseases including cancer. The current study investigated the effects of graviola leaf and stem extract (GLSE) and its solvent-extracted fractions on two human NMSC cell lines, UW-BCC1 and A431. GLSE was found to: (i) dose-dependently suppress UW-BCC1 and A431 cell growth, motility, wound closure, and clonogenicity; (ii) induce G₀/G₁ cell cycle arrest by downregulating cyclin/cdk factors while upregulating cdk inhibitors, and (iii) induce apoptosis as evidenced by cleavage of caspases-3, -8 and PARP. Further, GLSE suppressed levels of activated hedgehog (Hh) pathway components Smo, Gli 1/2, and Shh while inducing SuFu. GLSE also decreased the expression of pro-apoptotic protein Bax while decreasing the expression of the anti-apoptotic protein Bcl-2. We determined that these activities were concentrated in an acetogenin/alkaloid-rich dichloromethane subfraction of GLSE. Our data identify graviola extracts and their constituents as promising sources for new chemopreventive and therapeutic agent(s) to be further developed for the control of NMSCs.

Abstract
Using a low background data sample of 9.7×10^{5} J/ψ→γη^{'}, η^{'}→γπ^{+}π^{-} events, which are 2 orders of magnitude larger than those from the previous experiments, recorded with the BESIII detector at BEPCII, the decay dynamics of η^{'}→γπ^{+}π^{-} are studied with both model-dependent and model-independent approaches. The contributions of ω and the ρ(770)-ω interference are observed for the first time in the decays η^{'}→γπ^{+}π^{-} in both approaches. Additionally, a contribution from the box anomaly or the ρ(1450) resonance is required in the model-dependent approach, while the process specific part of the decay amplitude is determined in the model-independent approach.

Abstract
The application of Au nanoparticles (Au NPs) often requires surface modification with chemical surfactants, which dramatically reduce the surface activity and increase the chemical contamination and cost of Au NPs. In this research, we have developed a novel Au NPs/reduced graphene oxide/Ni foam hybrid (Au NPs/RGO/NiF) by in situ reduction through ascorbic acid and replacement reaction. This method is green, facile and efficient. The Au NPs are free of chemical surfactants and are homogeneously distributed on the surface of the RGO/NiF. The as-prepared Au NPs/RGO/NiF hybrid is uniform, stable and exhibits not only a high reduction efficiency for the reduction of 4-nitrophenol with a catalytic kinetic constant of up to 0.46 min-1 (0.15 cm3 catalysis) but also a sensitive and selective detection of H2O2 with a detection limit of ∼1.60 μM.
