Abstract
Objective: To investigate the clinical symptoms, treatment intervention and prognosis of Kaposiform lymphangiomatosis(KLA). Methods: Medical information and clinical characteristics data of 8 KLA patients who were admitted to Department of Pediatric Surgery of West China Hospital of Sichuan University from January 2016 to February 2019 were retrospectively reviewed and analyzed. There were 5 males and 3 females with age of 5.8 years old (from 8 months to 29 years old). Results: The lesions in all patients were diffusely distributed. In all 8 patients, the lung and mediastinum were involved with different degrees. Three cases had lesions involving pelvic and abdominal organs. Three cases had lesions involving bones. One case simultaneously involved pelvic and abdominal organs, and 1 case was involved laryngeal and neck. The clinical characteristics were mainly respiratory symptoms. In the laboratory tests, 6 patients had different degrees of thrombocytopenia (minimum 3 × 10(9)/L), and 4 patients had severe fibrinogen reduction (minimum 0.42 g/L). Three patients had prolonged activated partial thromboplastin time (up to 64.2 seconds) and 3 patients had prolonged prothrombin time (up to 18.6 seconds). After surgery (including thoracotomy, chest tube, pericardiocentesis, splenectomy) and empiric medicine therapy (vincristine, sirolimus and corticosteroid), the symptoms improved in 1 case, 2 cases died of complications, 2 cases were stable and 3 cases progressed up to February 2019. Conclusions: KLA is a rare disease that should be differentiated from other types of vascular diseases. Currently, there is no consensus treatment guidelines exist. Accurate diagnosis in KLA can be a challenge. The situation in patients with KLA is prone to rapid deterioration and progress. Future research efforts should seek to develop target-specific drugs for KLA.

Abstract
Objective: To detect the ideal treatment for acute ischemic stroke (AIS) patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) within 4.5 hours from onset. Methods: A total of 95 AIS patients with AF was retrospectively analyzed from April 2014 to January 2019. Thirty patients (group A) were treated with endovascular treatment directly, 35 (group B) patients were treated with intravenous recombinant tissue plasminogen activator (rtPA) followed by endovascular treatment, and 30 (group C) patients were treated with intravenous rtPA only. There were no significant differences among the groups in baseline data as age, gender, underlying diseases, medication, National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) score, time from onset to treatment. Modified thrombolysis in cerebral infarction (mTICI), Symptomatic hemorrhagic transformation (SICH), 90 d prognosis of modified Rankin Scale (mRS) and death were compared. Results: Recanalization (mTICI≥2b) was similar in group A and B (70.0% vs. 68.6%, P>0.05). SICH of group A (6.7%) was significantly lower than that of group B (31.4%, P<0.05), but similar with that of group C (13.7%, P>0.05). Prognosis (mRS≤2) was significantly better in group A (70.0%) than that in group B (37.1%) and group C (30.0%), both P<0.01. The mortality rate in group A (6.7%) was lower than that in group B (14.3%) and group C (20.0%) without statistically significant, both P>0.05. Conclusion: AIS patients with AF within 4.5 hours from onset should receive endovascular treatment directly.

Abstract
The qPCR assay developed to differentiate haploid and diploid maize leaf samples was unsuccessful due to DNA content difference. Haploid cells are packed more closely together with less cellular expansion. Increased ploidy content (> 2 N) directly correlates with increased cell size in plants, but few studies have examined cell morphology in plants with reduced ploidy (i.e., haploids). To pioneer a scalable new ploidy test, we compared DNA content and cellular morphology of haploid and diploid maize leaves. The amount of genomic DNA recovered from standardized leaf-punch samples was equivalent between these two ploidy types, while both epidermal and mesophyll cell types were smaller in haploid plants. Pavement cells had a substantially smaller size than mesophyll cells, and this effect was more pronounced in the abaxial epidermis. Interveinal distance and guard cell size were significantly reduced in haploids, but the cell percentage comprising stomata did not change. These results confirm the direct correlation between ploidy content and cell size in plants, and suggest that reduced cell expansion predominantly explains DNA content equivalence between haploid and diploid samples, confounding efforts to develop a haploid detection method using DNA content.

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the role of multidisciplinary team (MDT) clinic in the diagnosis of pancreatic diseases and patient compliance with MDT advice in the current medical system. Methods: The study included 512 patients that had visited the pancreas-oriented MDT clinic of Zhongshan Hospital between May 2015 and May 2019.The clinical and pathological data were collected and analyzed retrospectively. Diseases were classified in accordance with 2010 WHO classification of tumors of the digestive system and usual clinical practices. Compliance was determined according to whether a patient received corresponding therapies or undergoing further checks or follow-ups. Results: Among the 512 patients that had visited the MDT clinic, 121 patients were referred due to undetermined diagnosis. Classified according to the final diagnosis, the rate of undetermined diagnosis in different disease categories from high to low in order was inflammatory diseases of the pancreas (75.0%, 24/32), other lesions of the pancreas (56.1%,23/41), pancreatic cystic lesions (19.1%,17/89), pancreatic carcinomas (18.3%,48/262) and pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (pNEN)(10.2%,9/88). The MDT clinic made diagnosis to 68 patients directly with an accuracy of 89.7%. The rate of compliance in the entire cohort was 63.4%. The rate of compliance of patients from June 2017 to May 2019 (68.4%) was higher than that of patients from May 2015 to May 2017(59.6%). The compliance rate of patients in different disease categories from high to low in order was inflammatory diseases of the pancreas(84.4%, 27/32), pancreatic carcinomas (67.9%, 178/262), pNEN(60.2%,53/88), other lesions of the pancreas (56.1%,23/41), and pancreatic cystic lesions(49.4%, 44/89). The compliance rate of patients with different MDT advice from high to low in order was best supportive care(78.6%,22/28), antitumor approaches beyond surgery(71.6%,159/222), further tests(62.6%, 77/123), surgery(53.7%, 65/121) and follow-up(49.2%, 31/63). In patients suggested for surgery, the compliance rate of patients with carcinomas(67.4%, 33/49) was higher than patients with other kinds of neoplasms. Conclusions: MDT clinic could facilitate the diagnosis of pancreatic diseases conveniently and inexpensively. The overall compliance rate of MDT clinic patients is rather low, and patients with carcinomas have a relative high rate of compliance with the suggestion of surgery.

Abstract
Background:Toxoplasma gondii is a protozoan parasite that chronically infects nearly one-third of the world's human population. In immunosuppressed individuals and fetus, infection with T. gondii contributes to a series of devastating conditions, including toxoplasmic encephalitis (TE), which is characterized by neuron damage in the central nervous system (CNS). Astrocyte polarization is currently found in some neurodegenerative diseases, and A1 subtype of astrocyte leads to neuron apoptosis. However, little information has been available on the role of astrocyte polarization in TE. Methods: In the present study, we established a mouse model to study TE and detected A1 astrocyte in the brains of mice with TE. Expression level of A1 astrocyte-specific marker C3 was evaluated using indirect fluorescent assay (IFA) and Western blotting. Primary mouse astrocytes were incubated with different concentrations of T. gondii excreted-secreted antigens (TgESAs) in vitro. Expression level of C3 and A1 astrocyte-specific transcription levels were assessed using Western blotting and qRT-PCR, respectively. Bay11-7082 was used to study nuclear factor (NF) κB pathway in TgESA-induced astrocyte polarization. Results: In mice with TE, the proportion of A1 astrocyte (GFAP+C3+) increased significantly. The results of in vitro study showed that TgESAs induced astrocyte polarization to A1 subtype. Blocking of NFκB pathway by Bay11-7082 inhibited TgESA-induced astrocyte polarization. Conclusions: Our preliminary study showed the involvement of A1 astrocyte in the process of TE in mice, and TgESAs could trigger astrocyte to polarize to A1 subtype. These findings suggest a new mechanism underlying the neuropathogenesis induced by T. gondii infection.

Abstract
We report the first measurement of rapidity-odd directed flow (v_{1}) for D^{0} and D^{0}[over ¯] mesons at midrapidity (|y|<0.8) in Au+Au collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=200 GeV using the STAR detector at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider. In 10-80% Au+Au collisions, the slope of the v_{1} rapidity dependence (dv_{1}/dy), averaged over D^{0} and D^{0}[over ¯] mesons, is -0.080±0.017(stat)±0.016(syst) for transverse momentum p_{T} above 1.5 GeV/c. The absolute value of D^{0} meson dv_{1}/dy is about 25 times larger than that for charged kaons, with 3.4σ significance. These data give a unique insight into the initial tilt of the produced matter, and offer constraints on the geometric and transport parameters of the hot QCD medium created in relativistic heavy-ion collisions.

Background
Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in the world. The majority of cardiovascular events result from the rupture of vulnerable atherosclerotic plaques, which are characterized by high and active macrophage content. The integrin αVβ3 is expressed by activated macrophages and endothelial cells in atherosclerotic lesions and thus is a marker of high-risk plaques. Therefore, 89Zr-RGD-melanin nanoparticle (MNP) positron emission tomography (PET)/photoacoustic imaging (PAI) imaging of αVβ3 expression in plaques might provide a novel noninvasive biomarker of plaque vulnerability.
Purpose
In this study, the intrinsic photoacoustic signals and the native strong chelating properties with metal ions of MNP, positron-emitting metal ions 89Zr and αVβ3 integrins targeting ability of cyclic c (RGDfC) peptide was employed to construct an efficient nanoplatform. And we evaluated the feasibility of 89Zr-RGD-MNP PET/PAI of αVβ3 expression in vivo and in vitro.
Methods
We conjugated αVβ3 integrins, cyclic c (RGDfC) peptide, to MNP and chelated the long-lived positron-emitting nuclide 89Zr. The bio-stability and targeting action was detected in macrophages. And the PET/PAI imaging was performed in apoE−/− mice with partial carotid ligation leading to atherosclerosis. In PET imaging, tracer uptake was measured in the stenotic areas of the carotid arteries, as well as on the contralateral side at different time points in vivo. In PAI, photoacoustic signal was measured in the atherosclerosis of the carotid arteries in vivo. Melanin staining and immunohistochemistry of αVβ3 expression were detected in atherosclerosis of the carotid arteries.
Results
89Zr-RGD-MNP showed excellent bio-stability and targeting action. PET imaging showed specific tracer accumulation at plaques in the left carotid artery, confirmed by competitive receptor blocking studies and the contrast in the right carotid artery. In the biodistribution studies, the left carotid (5.29%±0.78%) showed higher uptake than the right carotid (2.11%±1.55%). PAI showed the PA signal in the surgery group (452±85 a.u.) were stronger than the control (156±45 a.u.) and blocking group (254±66 a.u). The result was consistent with PET imaging and the presence of nanoparticles, as indicated by pathological examinations. These results presented good in vivo multimodality imaging (PET/PAI) properties.
Conclusions
We have developed 89Zr-labeled atherosclerotic plaques imaging agents based on the natural melanin nanoparticle. 89Zr-RGD-MNP demonstrates specific tracer accumulation in mice atherosclerotic carotid plaques. In this model, its uptake was associated with αVβ3 expression. 89Zr-RGD-MNP is a potential tracer for noninvasive imaging in atherosclerosis.

Abstract
The Λ (Λ[over ¯]) hyperon polarization along the beam direction has been measured in Au+Au collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=200 GeV, for the first time in heavy-ion collisions. The polarization dependence on the hyperons' emission angle relative to the elliptic flow plane exhibits a second harmonic sine modulation, indicating a quadrupole pattern of the vorticity component along the beam direction, expected due to elliptic flow. The polarization is found to increase in more peripheral collisions, and shows no strong transverse momentum (p_{T}) dependence at p_{T} greater than 1 GeV/c. The magnitude of the signal is about 5 times smaller than those predicted by hydrodynamic and multiphase transport models; the observed phase of the emission angle dependence is also opposite to these model predictions. In contrast, the kinematic vorticity calculations in the blast-wave model tuned to reproduce particle spectra, elliptic flow, and the azimuthal dependence of the Gaussian source radii measured with the Hanbury Brown-Twiss intensity interferometry technique reproduce well the modulation phase measured in the data and capture the centrality and transverse momentum dependence of the polarization signal.

Abstract
Objective: To understand the incidence of school violence and its related factors among senior students in rural primary schools in Guizhou and Anhui provinces in 2016. Methods: From September to November 2016, one county was randomly selected from 47 impoverished counties of Guizhou and one county was randomly selected from 18 impoverished counties of Anhui Province by using multi-stage cluster sampling method. A total of 4 schools were randomly selected from primary schools which had more than 70% students with rural resident registration in each selected county, and 3 classes were randomly selected from fifth and sixth grades of each selected school. All students in each selected class were included in this study. A total of 2 521 students were included, and 2 506 valid questionnaires were collected with an effective response rate about 99.4%. Self-designed questionnaires were used to collect data on individual information, family information, and the incidence of school violence with related factors. Multivariable logistic regression was conducted to analyze related factors of school violence. Results: The incidence of violence in rural primary schools was 50.4% (1 264/2 506) in 2016. The number of students who had physical assault, fought or been bullied was 682 (27.2%), 689 (27.5%) and 764 (30.5%), respectively. The results of multivariable logistic regression showed that the OR (95%CI) values of incidence of school violence for male students was 2.13(1.78-2.54) compared with female students; and the OR(95%CI) values of incidence of school violence for students with high peer acceptance, high family intimacy, more physical activity and mother who had education background of junior high school, senior high school, technical secondary school and junior college, bachelor's degree or above were 0.39 (0.26-0.57), 0.47 (0.40-0.57), 0.64 (0.52-0.78), 0.79 (0.66-0.96), and 0.65 (0.46-0.92) compared with those with low peer acceptance, low family intimacy, less physical activity and mother who had primary education and below. Conclusion: The incidence of violence in rural primary schools is not optimistic. Gender, peer acceptance, family intimacy, physical activity and mother education are related to school violence.

Abstract
Objectives: To establish a geographic information application system for analyzing the spatial and temporal distribution of major infectious diseases in various regions of the world and to assess the risk of importation of those diseases, to China. Methods: We collected and integrated the following information on: 1) outbreaks and areas of epidemics of major infectious diseases in the world from 2000 to 2017, 2) cases of infectious diseases in arriving travelers through active surveillance at international entry-exit ports in mainland China from 2014 to 2016, 3) numbers of annual global international flights and travelers in the country. With the above information, a global space-time distribution database on major infectious diseases was then established, using the technology related to the system. Models regarding technologies on time-space analysis, probabilistic risk assessment and geographic information visualization, were applied to establish a geographic information system on risk assessment of infectious diseases that imported to China. Results: Through integration of information on outbreaks and epidemic areas of 60 major infectious diseases in 220 countries and regions around the world, as well as 42 kinds of infectious diseases identified among the international arrivals in mainland China, a system was then developed. Information on the distribution of major infectious diseases and their potential risks in the worldwide various regions, characteristics of spectrum and disease burden of infectious diseases imported to each province of mainland China were displayed. Thus, risks on importing infectious diseases in each province via air way were able to be evaluated and simulated by the probabilistic risk assessment model, under the information on specific kind of infectious disease, outside China. Conclusion: Geographic Information System on Risk Assessment Regarding Infectious Diseases Imported to China provides basic data for epidemiological reconnaissance and assessment on risks of importing infectious diseases outside China, thus would be helpful for the improvement of strategies on surveillance, prevention and control regarding the importing infectious diseases, in China.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the diagnostic value of extracellular volume (ECV) imaging by magnetic resonance imaging for liver fibrosis of hepatitis B. Methods: A retrospective analysis was recruited in patients with chronic hepatitis B, who underwent liver surgery from April to October 2017 for pathological evaluation of liver tissues, and all patients underwent Gd-EOB-DTPA-enhanced T1 mapping to calculate the liver ECV score. The correlation between ECV and staging of hepatic fibrosis and inflammatory activity were compared to clarify the diagnostic value of staging of fibrosis. Results: 66 patients were enrolled in this study. Concerning the staging of liver fibrosis, there were 13, 4, 13, 10, and 26 cases with F0, F1, F2, F3 and F4 stages, respectively. ECV values had high interobserver consistency (correlation coefficient 0.860). The ECV difference between different stages of liver fibrosis was statistically significant (F = 15.02, P < 0.001). There was a significant positive correlation between ECV and fibrosis stage (r = 0.622, P < 0.001), and weak correlation with inflammatory activity (r = 0.332, P = 0.007). Fibrosis staging was an independent factor influencing ECV (P < 0.001). The area under the receiver operator characteristic curve for the diagnosis of liver fibrosis staging F≥1, F≥3 and F4 were 0.760, 0.846 and 0.873, respectively. The diagnostic sensitivity and specificity were 64.15%, 92.31%, 77.78%, 80.00% and 88.46, 72.50%, respectively. Conclusion: MRI-ECV imaging has great value for staging hepatic fibrosis of hepatitis B, and it can provide an effective method for diagnosis, staging, and evaluating the curative effect of fibrosis.

Abstract
Objective: To improve the understanding and treatment of IgG4-related lung disease (IgG4-RLD) by analyzing the clinical characteristics of patients. Methods: A total of 13 patients with IgG4-related lung disease (IgG4-RLD) diagnosed by pathology at Zhongshan Hospital affiliated to Fudan University during December 2007 to December 2017 were included. The clinical characteristics, chest CT, pathological features, serum IgG4 levels, therapy and prognosis of these 13 patients were analyzed. Results: The 13 patients with IgG4-RLD included 8 men and 5 women, with an average age of (51.1±14.8) years. The clinical manifestations were varied, 10 patients showed respiratory symptoms, mainly including cough (n=9), expectoration (n=6), hemoptysis (n=6), chest tightness (n=2) and breathless (n=2). Multiple organs were involved in 12 cases. Chest CT showed solid lung nodules (n=9), ground glass shadows (n=1), alveolar-interstitial infiltration (n=3), bronchovascular lesions (n=3), and the solid lung nodules was predominant. Enlargement of lymph nodes in the mediastinal and bilateral hilum of the lung were present in 10 cases. Serum IgG4 levels were elevated in all the 13 cases, with an average concentration of (7.92 ±13.98)g/L. Quite amount of lymphocytes, plasma cell infiltration and fibrosis were common pathologic findings. Immunohistochemical staining showed a large number of IgG4 positive plasma cells infiltration with IgG4 positive plasma cells count 10-320/HP in 13 cases. The ratio of IgG4 positive plasma cells to IgG positive plasma cells was higher than 40%. Eight patients received glucocorticoid therapy alone, five received glucocorticoids with immunosuppressant therapy. After treatment, 10 patients were with remission, and disease progressed in 3 patients, but no death. Conclusions: The clinical manifestations and imaging features of IgG4-RLD are diverse, and lesions can often involve multiple organs. The diagnosis could be made based on pathological features and IgG4 serum levels. Glucocorticoid can be used as the first choice for the treatment of IgG4-RLD.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the effects of nasogastric tube (NGT) and percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) tube feeding on the susceptibility of pulmonary infection in long-term coma patients with stroke or traumatic brain injury. Methods: A total of 295 candidates who were in long-term coma after stroke or traumatic brain injury but without pulmonary infection and eligible for PEG catheterization were screened prospectively between January 2014 and February 2018. The patients were divided into PEG group (86 patients) and NGT group (209 patients) according to the choice of next-of-kin. Data related to the susceptibility of pulmonary infection were collected and analyzed in the two groups one month after the catheterization. Results: After follow-up for one month, compared with NGT group, patients in PEG group had a lower incidence of pulmonary infection (23.3% vs 37.8%, P=0.023), a later occurrence of pulmonary infection (average time: 21 days vs 13 days, P=0.034), and a less severe pulmonary infection (7.0% vs 12.9%, P=0.029). The following characteristics made patients more susceptible to pulmonary infection: age ≥ 70 years (HR=1.619, 95% CI 1.054-2.172), Charlson comorbidity index ≥ 2 points (HR=1.647, 95% CI 1.043-2.485), using of proton pump inhibitor ≥ 7 days (HR=1.725, 95% CI 1.214-2.738), and number of pressure ulcers ≥ 3 (HR=2.109, 95% CI 1.128-3.844). However, serum albumin concentration ≥35 g/L (HR=0.670, 95% CI 0.375-0.963) was a protective factor for pulmonary infections. The number of consistent pathogens cultivated from saliva, gastric juice and sputum simultaneously in NGT and PEG group was 35 strains (27.8%) and 8 strains (13.3%), respectively (P=0.029). The mortality of pulmonary infection was similar in the two groups (3.5% vs 4.3%, P=1.000), but the death due to pulmonary infection in the PEG group occur later (median time: 20 days vs 11 days, P=0.012). Conclusions: PEG feeding was a preferred nutrition way which could reduce the risk of pulmonary infection more effectively than NGT feeding which might favored a retrograde gastro-pulmonary route by which pathogens colonized in stomach migrated to respiratory tract. Patients with characteristics mentioned above had the susceptibility of pulmonary infection, thus risk assessment of pulmonary infection should be conducted before selecting the catheterization method.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the clinical outcomes and prognostic factors in patients with pancreatic cancer after surgical resection with curative intent and analyze factors affecting 2-year and 5-year survival of patients. Methods: A total of 469 patients with pancreatic adenocarcinoma undergoing curative resection were included in the study, and the clinical data of these patients were analyzed retrospectively. Univariate and multivariate analyses were performed to examine factors affecting prognosis of these patients. The clinicopathological characteristics of patients who survived for ≤2 years and >2 years as well as ≤5 years and >5 years were compared, respectively. Results: The multivariate analysis showed that lymphovascular invasion (P=0.024), lymph node metastasis (P<0.001), vascular resection (P=0.002), maximum tumor diameter >2 cm (P=0.009), poor differentiation (P<0.001) were negative prognosis factors, but postoperative chemotherapy (P<0.001) was an independent positive prognostic factor. Comparison of the patients who survived for ≤2 years and >2 years showed that lymphovascular invasion (P=0.012), lymph node metastasis (P<0.001), vascular resection (P=0.014), maximum tumor diameter>2 cm (P=0.004), poor differentiation (P<0.001), peri-pancreatic fat invasion (P=0.005), absence of postoperative chemotherapy (P<0.001), advanced tumour, node and metastasis (TNM stage) (P<0.001) were associated with 2-year survival. With regard to 5-year survival, lymph node metastasis (P=0.005), poor differentiation (P=0.014) and TNM stage(P=0.025) were associated with it. Conclusions: Our results suggest that lymphovascular invasion, lymph node metastasis, vascular resection, maximum tumor diameter >2 cm, poor differentiation and absence of postoperative chemotherapy were independent negative prognostic factors. Lymph vascular invasion, lymph node metastasis, vascular resection, maximum tumor diameter >2 cm, poor differentiation, peri-pancreatic fat invasion, absence of postoperative chemotherapy, advanced TNM stage were associated with 2-year survival, and lymph node metastasis, degree of differentiation and TNM stage are important prognosis factors affecting long-term survival of patients.
