Abstract
Atom probe tomography (APT) coupling high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) was used to analyze the fraction and compositions of different nanoparticles in two-stage double peaks aging process of Al-Zn-Mg alloy. Al content is found to be closely related to the size of nanoparticles and it can be greater than ~ 50.0 at. % in the nanoparticle with the equivalent radius under ~ 3.0 nm. Correspondingly, Al content of the nanoparticle, with the equivalent radius over ~ 5.0 nm, is measured under ~ 40.0 at. %. Evolution from Guinier-Preston (G.P.) zone to η phase is a growing process where Mg and Zn atoms enter the nanoparticle, therefore rejecting Al atoms. G.P. zones can take up a number fraction of ~ 85.0 and ~ 22.7% of nanoparticles in the first and second peak-aged samples, respectively, and even in the over-aged (T73) sample, they can still be found. As aging time increases, fraction of η' phases monotonically rises to the peak value (~ 54.5%) in the second peak-aged state and then drops, which is significant for the second hardness peak and directly proves their function as the transitional medium. In T73 state, ~ 63.3% nanoparticles compose of η phases, which were measured to still contain ~ 10.2 to ~ 36.4 at. % Al atoms.

Abstract
Electromagnetic protection in optoelectronic instruments such as optical windows and electronic displays is challenging because of the essential requirements of a high optical transmittance and an electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding effectiveness (SE). Herein, we demonstrate the creation of an efficient transparent EMI shielding film that is composed of calcium alginate (CA), silver nanowires (AgNWs), and polyurethane (PU), via a facile and low-cost Mayer-rod coating method. The CA/AgNW/PU film with a high optical transmittance of 92% achieves an EMI SE of 20.7 dB, which meets the requirements for commercial shielding applications. A superior EMI SE of 31.3 dB could be achieved, whereas the transparent film still maintains a transmittance of 81%. The integrated efficient EMI SE and high transmittance are superior to those of most previously reported transparent EMI shielding materials. Moreover, our transparent films exhibit a highly reliable shielding ability in a complex service environment, with 98 and 96% EMI SE retentions even after 30 min of ultrasound treatment and 5000 bending cycles (1.5 mm radius), respectively. The comprehensive performance that is associated with the facile fabrication strategy imparts the CA/AgNW/PU film with great potential as an optimized EMI shielding material in emerging optoelectronic devices, such as flexible solar cells, displays, and touch panels.

Abstract
Aberrant activation of the JAK3-STAT signaling pathway is a characteristic feature of many hematological malignancies. In particular, hyperactivity of this cascade has been observed in natural killer/T-cell lymphoma (NKTL) cases. Although the first-in-class JAK3 inhibitor tofacitinib blocks JAK3 activity in NKTL both in vitro and in vivo, its clinical utilization in cancer therapy has been limited by the pan-JAK inhibition activity. To improve the therapeutic efficacy of JAK3 inhibition in NKTL, we have developed a highly selective and durable JAK3 inhibitor PRN371 that potently inhibits JAK3 activity over the other JAK family members JAK1, JAK2, and TYK2. PRN371 effectively suppresses NKTL cell proliferation and induces apoptosis through abrogation of the JAK3-STAT signaling. Moreover, the activity of PRN371 has a more durable inhibition on JAK3 compared to tofacitinib in vitro, leading to significant tumor growth inhibition in a NKTL xenograft model harboring JAK3 activating mutation. These findings provide a novel therapeutic approach for the treatment of NKTL.

Abstract
Carbon nanotube/high density polyethylene (CNT/HDPE) foam composites with high electrical conductivity and electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding performance were developed by means of compression molding plus salt-leaching. The uniform porous structure and interconnected CNT networks throughout the cell backbones endowed the as-prepared foam composites with a significantly lower electrical percolation threshold (0.22 vol%) than that of the solid composites (0.84 vol%). Owing to the multiple reflections and scattering between the cell–matrix interfaces, the foam composites presented a superior specific EMI shielding effectiveness (EMI SE) of 104.3 dB cm3 g−1, 2.2 times higher than that of their solid counterpart. Besides this, the pore sizes of the CNT/HDPE foam composites could be easily tuned by controlling the particle size of the porogen. Also, the electrical conductivity and specific EMI SE increased with an increase in the cell diameter, which was attributed to the formation of a more perfect conductive network in the cell backbones. Our approach provides a novel idea for fabricating new lightweight EMI shielding materials, especially for aircraft and spacecraft applications. Carbon nanotube/high density polyethylene foam composites with superior specific electromagnetic interference shielding effectiveness values of 104.3 dB cm3 g−1 were developed via a compression molding plus salt-leaching method.![]()

Abstract
In this paper, the dispersion of carbon nanotube (CNT) in ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) is demonstrated to be significantly improved by the addition of octadecylamine (ODA)-grafted graphene oxide (GO) (GO–ODA). Compared to the CNT/EVA composite, the resultant GO–ODA/CNT/EVA (G–CNT/EVA) composite shows simultaneous increases in tensile strength, Young’s modulus and elongation at break. Notably, the elongation at break of the G–CNT/EVA composite still maintains a relatively high value of 1268% at 2.0 wt % CNT content, which is more than 1.6 times higher than that of CNT/EVA composite (783%). This should be attributed to the homogeneous dispersion of CNT as well as the strong interfacial interaction between CNT and EVA originating from the solubilization effect of GO–ODA. Additionally, the G–CNT/EVA composites exhibit superior electrical conductivity at low CNT contents but inferior value at high CNT contents, compared to that for the CNT/EVA composite, which depends on the balance of CNT dispersion and the preservation of insulating GO–ODA. Our strategy provides a new pathway to prepare high performance polymer composites with well-dispersed CNT.

Abstract
Knee osteoarthritis (KOA) is a common degenerative joint disease and immune system dysregulation has been implicated in its pathogenesis. The effect of arthroscopic knee surgery, an important method for KOA diagnosis and treatment, on the expression of immune regulators remains poorly understood. We aimed to investigate the clinical efficacy of such surgery and its impact on IL-1β, CXCL13, and TNF-α expression in the knee joint synovial fluid of osteoarthritis patients. Fifty-seven patients having undergone arthroscopic knee surgery in our hospital were included. Visual analog scale (VAS) and Lysholm scores were recorded before surgery, and knee joint synovial fluid was collected during the procedure. According to Outerbridge cartilage damage score (grade 0, 1, 2, 3, or 4), patients were divided into five groups. In addition, VAS and Lysholm scores were recorded and knee joint synovial fluid was collected after a six-month follow-up period. Expression of IL-1β, CXCL13, and TNF-α in synovial fluid samples was then measured. In each group, levels of these molecules and VAS and Lysholm scores were significantly lower after surgery (P < 0.05). IL-1β, CXCL13, and TNF-α levels were significantly elevated in patients with higher cartilage damage scores compared to those with lower scores. Arthroscopic knee surgery can reduce IL-1β, CXCL13, and TNF-α levels in the knee joint synovial fluid of osteoarthritis patients. Moreover, reduced presence of these molecules correlates with clinical improvement of this condition. Therefore, reduction in IL-1β, CXCL13, and TNF-α expression might be used as a factor for long-term osteoarthritis prognosis.

Abstract
The challenge of hitherto elaborating a feasible pathway to overcome the conflicts between strength and toughness of polylactide (PLA) still remains among academia and industry. In the current work, a unique hierarchal structure of flexible poly(butylene adipate-co-terephthalate) (PBAT) in situ nanofibrils integrating with abundant PLA shish-kebabs as a strong building block was disclosed and expresses its capability to conquer this dilemma. Substantially simultaneous enhancement on tensile strength, impact strength, and elongation at break could be achieved up to 91.2 MPa, 14.9 KJ/m2, and 15.7%, respectively, compared with pure PLA (61.5 MPa, 4.3 KJ/m2, and 6.2%). Through investigating the phase (and crystalline) morphology and molecular chain behavior in the PLA/PBAT system, the formation mechanism of this structure facilitated by a coupling effect of PBAT flexible phase and shear flow was definitely elucidated. The dispersed phase of PBAT would be more inclined to existing as a fibrillar form within the PLA matrix benefiting from low interfacial tension. Interestingly, this phase morphology with large specific surface area changes the crystallization behavior of PLA significantly, once introducing an intense shear flow (∼103 s-1), in situ shear-formed nanofibrils of PBAT would show strong coupling effect with shear flow on PLA crystallization: they can not only induce abundant shish-kebabs of PLA at its interfaces, which possesses lengthened shish and more densely arranged kebabs, but also further retard the relaxation of PLA chains through hysteretic relaxation of its PBAT phase, which can effectively prevent the collapse of established shish. Of immense significance is this particular hierarchical-architecture composed by flexible nanofibers (PBAT) and rigid shish-kebabs (PLA), which provides significant guidance for the simultaneous reinforcement and toughness of polymer materials.
