Abstract
Involvement of the axis by solitary eosinophilic granuloma is rare. We report a 12-year-old girl who presented with a unifocal eosinophilic granuloma of C2 that resulted in a pathologic fracture and atlanto-axial subluxation. She had no other skeletal or systemic manifestations of histiocytosis X. She was successfully treated with posterior spinal fusion and transoral excisional biopsy. Because solitary lesions may mimic malignant tumors, biopsy is advised in atypical cases. The prognosis for solitary eosinophilic granuloma is almost always favorable in terms of symptomatic improvement and restoration of vertebral height.

Abstract
A case of a 14-year-old boy with a solitary eosinophilic granuloma of the thoracic spine, with paraplegia secondary to the collapse of the vertebra and peridural spread of tumor, is presented. It is the 14th case recorded in literature to this date. This disease is self-limiting, and there is no role of steroids or radiotherapy observed.

Abstract
A solitary eosinophilic granuloma in an 8 month-old infant is presented. The tumour, which had penetrated bone dura, but spared the brain tissue was radically excised. This case shows an unusually low age of presentation of this rare disease, and an unusual endocranial extension of the tumour. If an infantile eosinophilic granuloma is suspected, then computerized tomography should always be performed.

Abstract
Solitary eosinophilic granuloma (EG) lesions of bone can represent diagnostic and treatment dilemmas for the orthopedic surgeon. A retrospective review of one institution's experience with isolated EG skeletal lesions over a 30-year period was undertaken. Solitary lesions responded well to most treatment modalities (e.g., curettage, excision, and irradiation) and infrequently resulted in functional impairment. While EG involvement in bone can be a manifestation of a systemic histiocytosis, single-focus skeletal involvement appears to be a benign pathophysiologic process.

Abstract
A case is reported of eosinophilic granuloma at the cervicothoracic junction presenting with profound quadriparesis preoperatively. The patient underwent excision via an anterior approach, with splitting of the sternum to gain access to the T-1 vertebra. Postoperatively, he has had an excellent return of function.

Abstract
We describe an unusual case of unifocal eosinophilic granuloma of the spine in a 38-year-old woman who presented with spinal cord compression. After 2 years of back pain, x-ray films of the spine were normal, but computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging demonstrated a lytic lesion of the 1st lumbar vertebral body with cephalic extension in the epidural space. The lesion was later confirmed at operation to be an eosinophilic granuloma spreading into the surrounding tissues.

Abstract
A recurrent mass removed surgically from the dorsocaudal aspect of the planum nasale in a 12-year-old dog was identified histologically as eosinophilic granuloma. The dog was treated orally with prednisone for 15 days, and the granuloma has not recurred.

Abstract
The eosinophilic granuloma of bone, Letterer-Siwe's disease and Hand-Schüller-Christian's disease are integrated under the conception Histiocytosis X. The same patho-histological findings, especially on bone and the observation that the 3 diseases can change one into the other are the reason for this conception. In the past the very different prognosis of the 3 diseases was the reason for difficulties of the classification and the therapy. In Letterer-Siwe's disease with bad prognosis and HSC with uncertain prognosis conservative therapy is mostly indicated. The eosinophilic granuloma in monotopic and polytopic localisation normally requires surgical procedure usually the excision of a specimen for the diagnosis. In special localisations with the fracture or the possibility of a fracture operative procedure with resection, bone grafting and osteosynthesis in order to get bone stability are indicated. 2 cases with special localisation are described.

Abstract
About 4 observations of benign tumours of the spine of the adolescent, we have studied the surgical aspect of the treatment of these lesion. The choice of the surgical approach is fundamental in view of the necessity of a complete exeresis, which implies techniques of spinal reconstruction and stabilization. Those problems are illustrated by: 2 cases of aneurysmal cyst, 1 case of eosinophilic granuloma, and 1 case of osteochondroma.

Abstract
Solitary intracranial eosinophilic granulomas are rare and most frequently involve the hypothalamus. We report an unusual case of solitary eosinophilic granuloma of the frontal lobe in a patient without evidence of systemic disease. Previously reported cases of solitary intracranial nonhypothalamic lesions are reviewed, and the clinical, radiographic, and histological features of this case are discussed.

Abstract
A case of recurrent eosinophilic granuloma of the mandible following radiation therapy is presented. The lesion was curetted and immediately reconstructed with autogenous bone for strength and lower border continuity. Since radiation therapy in low doses is normally curative for this disease, few recurrences have been reported. It is emphasized that polyostotic disease may have a greater propensity for recurrence and that patients presenting with multiple lesions should be followed up closely, regardless of the mode of therapy.

Abstract
Eosinophilic granulomas of the stomach, also known as inflammatory pseudotumours, are infrequently occurring lesions characterised histologically by local capillary and fibroblastic proliferation with infiltration of eosinophilic cells. This condition is benign and appears as a polypoid mass with or without ulceration. A case of association of a polyarthritis with a eosinophilic polypoid gastric granuloma is described. This was subsequently removed by endoscopic polypectomy.

Abstract
Although a rare disease, eosinophilic granuloma should be included in the otolaryngologist's differential diagnosis of destructive lesions of the temporal bone. A case of bilateral simultaneous eosinophilic granuloma of the temporal bone is reported. The etiology, incidence, and symptomatology are discussed, as well as the different modalities of treatment as reviewed in the literature.
