Abstract
High-energy neutrino emission has been predicted for several short-lived astrophysical transients including gamma-ray bursts (GRBs), core-collapse supernovae with choked jets, and neutron star mergers. IceCube's optical and x-ray follow-up program searches for such transient sources by looking for two or more muon neutrino candidates in directional coincidence and arriving within 100 s. The measured rate of neutrino alerts is consistent with the expected rate of chance coincidences of atmospheric background events and no likely electromagnetic counterparts have been identified in Swift follow-up observations. Here, we calculate generic bounds on the neutrino flux of short-lived transient sources. Assuming an E^{-2.5} neutrino spectrum, we find that the neutrino flux of rare sources, like long gamma-ray bursts, is constrained to <5% of the detected astrophysical flux and the energy released in neutrinos (100 GeV to 10 PeV) by a median bright GRB-like source is <10^{52.5} erg. For a harder E^{-2.13} neutrino spectrum up to 30% of the flux could be produced by GRBs and the allowed median source energy is <10^{52} erg. A hypothetical population of transient sources has to be more common than 10^{-5} Mpc^{-3} yr^{-1} (5×10^{-8} Mpc^{-3} yr^{-1} for the E^{-2.13} spectrum) to account for the complete astrophysical neutrino flux.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the clinical characteristics and treatment methods of esophageal foreign body. Method: The clinical data of 234 patients with esophageal foreign bodies admitted to our department from January 2015 to August 2018 were retrospectively analyzed, including course time, foreign body types, surgical methods, imaging manifestations and treatment related complications. Result: The diagnosis of esophageal foreign bodies was confirmed by esophageal CT or esophageal barium meal X-ray examination before operation in 234 patients. Course time varied from 3 hours to 7 days, and the jujube nucleus was the most common food-borne foreign body.223 patients underwent esophagoscopic exploration and foreign body removal under general intravenous anesthesia, 11 of them had no definite esophageal foreign body, 22 had esophageal perforation and periesophagitis. After removal of foreign body, the nasogastric feeding tube was inserted. About 10 days later, the nasogastric feeding tube was removed when they got healthy. Nine cases underwent cervical abscess incision and drainage under general anesthesia. The average postoperative hospital day was 11 days. Conclusion: The rigid esophagoscopy is a safe and effective method for the esophageal foreign bodies. And neck abscess incision must be necessary, when they suffered from esophageal perforation with neck abscess and other serious complications.

Abstract
Nickel⁻titanium (Ni-Ti) alloy has been selected as stent material given its good biocompatibility. In this study, experimental research on this material was conducted using magnetic field-assisted electrical discharge machining (EDM). The surface topography of the machined workpiece was analyzed with a scanning electron microscope (SEM). Hydrophobicity was measured by using an optical contact angle measuring instrument. The roughness values of different positions on the surface were measured using a TR200 roughness instrument. Results showed that the composite structure of solidification bulge⁻crater⁻pore⁻particle can be prepared on the surface of the Ni-Ti alloy through magnetic mixed EDM using suitable processing parameters. Moreover, the contact angle of the surface reaches 138.2°.

Abstract
With the observation of high-energy astrophysical neutrinos by the IceCube Neutrino Observatory, interest has risen in models of PeV-mass decaying dark matter particles to explain the observed flux. We present two dedicated experimental analyses to test this hypothesis. One analysis uses 6 years of IceCube data focusing on muon neutrino 'track' events from the Northern Hemisphere, while the second analysis uses 2 years of 'cascade' events from the full sky. Known background components and the hypothetical flux from unstable dark matter are fitted to the experimental data. Since no significant excess is observed in either analysis, lower limits on the lifetime of dark matter particles are derived: we obtain the strongest constraint to date, excluding lifetimes shorter than10 28 s at 90% CL for dark matter masses above 10 TeV .

Abstract
We report first measurements of e^{+}e^{-} pair production in the mass region 0.4<M_{ee}<2.6 GeV/c^{2} at low transverse momentum (p_{T}<0.15 GeV/c) in noncentral Au+Au collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=200 GeV and U+U collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=193 GeV. Significant enhancement factors, expressed as ratios of data over known hadronic contributions, are observed in the 40%-80% centrality of these collisions. The excess yields peak distinctly at low p_{T} with a width (sqrt[⟨p_{T}^{2}⟩]) between 40 and 60 MeV/c. The absolute cross section of the excess depends weakly on centrality, while those from a theoretical model calculation incorporating an in-medium broadened ρ spectral function and radiation from a quark gluon plasma or hadronic cocktail contributions increase dramatically with an increasing number of participant nucleons. Model calculations of photon-photon interactions generated by the initial projectile and target nuclei describe the observed excess yields but fail to reproduce the p_{T}^{2} distributions.

[Impact of first-line chemotherapy on renal function in patients with advanced upper tract urothelial carcinoma]. ZHONGHUA YI XUE ZA ZHI 2018; 98:2574-2578. Abstract
Objective: To observe the impact of first-line chemotherapy on renal function in patients with unresectable/metastatic upper tract urothelial carcinoma(UTUC). Methods: A total of 222 (130 males and 92 females) unresectable/metastatic upper tract urothelial carcinoma patients were included in the study between January 2005 and May 2017, with age of 29 to 87 (62.4±10.1) years old. The serum creatinine level and estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) were compared before and after first-line chemotherapy. And predictive factors for decreased renal function were analyzed in logistic regression model. Results: After the first-line chemotherapy, the average serum creatinine level increased, with a median changing value of 1.5 μmol/L. Howerver, the eGFR improved, with a median changing value of 0.5 ml·min-1· (1.73 m2)-1, but the differences were not statistically significant (all P>0.05). In 149 patients who were treated with cisplatin-based chemotherapy, the average serum creatinine level increased by 1.31 μmol/L and eGFR improved by 0.14 ml·min-1·(1.73 m2)-1, but the differences were not statistically significant (P>0.05). In multivariate logistic regression model, age more than and equal to 60 years old (OR=0.88, P=0.745) and cisplatin-based chemotherapy (OR=0.95, P=0.893) did not increase the risk of renal dysfunction after first-line chemotherapy. If the time interval between surgery and first-line chemotherapy was more than 1 year, the risk of renal dysfunction due to chemotherapy decreased (OR=0.54, P=0.196). Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group Performance Status (ECOG PS) Scale≥1 (OR=1.81, P=0.131), anemia before treatment (OR=1.14, P=0.764), the cycles of first-line chemotherapy (OR=1.41, P=0.398) may lead to increase the risk of renal dysfunction, but the differences were not statistically significant. However in the patients who accepted nephrectomy, the risk of renal dysfunction after chemotherapy increased, but the difference was still not statistically significant (OR=3.06, P=0.089). Conclusions: First-line chemotherapy, especially the cisplatin-based regimen, had no significant impact on renal function in the patients with UTUC. Nephrectomy maybe a predictive risk factor for decreased renal function after chemotherapy. Adequate assessment of renal function before treatment, hydration and close monitoring during chemotherapy can effectively protect renal function of the patients.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE 3D high-resolution vessel wall imaging is increasingly used for intracranial arterial diseases. This study compared the diagnostic performance of black-blood luminal angiography derived from 3D vessel wall imaging with source images of vessel wall imaging and TOF-MRA in detecting middle cerebral artery stenosis. MATERIALS AND METHODS Sixty-two patients with suspected MCA atherosclerosis underwent TOF-MRA, vessel wall imaging, and CTA. Intracranial black-blood luminal angiography was created from source images of vessel wall imaging using minimum intensity projection. The degree and length of MCA stenosis were measured on source images of vessel wall imaging, TOF-MRA, and black-blood luminal angiography and compared using CTA as a reference standard. RESULTS The image quality of black-blood luminal angiography was diagnostic in most patients. The intra- and interobserver agreement for both stenosis degree and length measurements was excellent for black-blood luminal angiography. It was comparable with that of source images of vessel wall imaging in grading stenosis. Compared with TOF-MRA, black-blood luminal angiography showed significantly higher sensitivity for the detection of severe stenosis (89.3% versus 64.3%, P = .039) and higher specificity for the detection of occlusion (95.4% versus 84.6%, P = .039). Lesion length estimated on source images of vessel wall imaging was significantly greater than that measured by CTA and black-blood luminal angiography (P < .001 and P = .010). CONCLUSIONS Black-blood luminal angiography is better than TOF-MRA in detecting severe stenosis and occlusion of the MCA. Compared with source images of vessel wall imaging, it is more accurate in evaluating stenosis length. Black-blood luminal angiography can be produced as a derivative from vessel wall imaging and implemented as an adjunct to vessel wall imaging and TOF-MRA without extra acquisition time.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate cross-sectional associations between serum level of Matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)13 and knee structural measures and circulating inflammatory factors in patients with symptomatic knee osteoarthritis (OA). DESIGN A total of 149 subjects with symptomatic knee OA were included. Magnetic resonance imaging was used to measure infrapatellar fat pad (IPFP) volume, IPFP signal intensity alternation, cartilage volume and cartilage defects. Knee radiography was used to assess radiographic OA using the Kellgren-Lawrence (K-L) grading system. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay was used to measure the serum levels of inflammatory factors and MMP13. RESULTS In multivariable analyses, serum MMP13 was negatively associated with cartilage volume at patellar site (β: -32.94 mm3 per 10 ng/ml, P < 0.05), and positively associated with cartilage defect at medial femoral site (OR: 1.13 per 10 ng/ml, P < 0.05). Also, MMP13 was positively associated with K-L grading and IPFP signal intensity alteration (OR: 1.14 and 1.15 per 10 ng/ml, respectively, both P < 0.05), and negatively associated with IPFP volume (β: -0.34 cm3 per 10 ng/ml, P < 0.05). Furthermore, serum level of adiponectin was negatively associated serum MMP13 quartiles (OR: 0.66 per 10 μg/ml, P < 0.05), and serum levels of tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α, interleukin (IL)-8 and IL-18 were positively associated with serum MMP13 quartiles (ORs: 1.01-1.18 per 10 pg/ml, all P < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS Serum level of MMP13 was associated with knee structural abnormalities as well as serum inflammatory factors. These suggest that systemic MMP13 may play a role in knee OA, and could be regulated by inflammatory factors.

Abstract
We report measurements of the nuclear modification factor R_{CP} for charged hadrons as well as identified π^{+(-)}, K^{+(-)}, and p(p[over ¯]) for Au+Au collision energies of sqrt[s_{NN}]=7.7, 11.5, 14.5, 19.6, 27, 39, and 62.4 GeV. We observe a clear high-p_{T} net suppression in central collisions at 62.4 GeV for charged hadrons which evolves smoothly to a large net enhancement at lower energies. This trend is driven by the evolution of the pion spectra but is also very similar for the kaon spectra. While the magnitude of the proton R_{CP} at high p_{T} does depend on the collision energy, neither the proton nor the antiproton R_{CP} at high p_{T} exhibit net suppression at any energy. A study of how the binary collision-scaled high-p_{T} yield evolves with centrality reveals a nonmonotonic shape that is consistent with the idea that jet quenching is increasing faster than the combined phenomena that lead to enhancement.

Abstract
Our aim was to evaluate the accuracy of two midsagittal planes (MSP) to provide a better reference plane for studying the 3-dimensional structural symmetry in patients with skeletal mandibular deviation. Thirty adult patients with facial asymmetry were admitted to the Department of Orthodontics, Hospital of Stomatology, between January 2015 and 2017. The DICOM data were collected and reconstructed using ProPlan CMF® 2.0 (Materialise). Two sets of reference planes were set up. In the orbital margin plane group, the plane crossing the nasion (N) point and perpendicular to the frontozygomatic (FZ) suture line was used as the MSP. In the skull base plane group, the MSP was established using the sella turcica (S), N, and basion (Ba). The distances from the craniofacial skeletal and soft tissue midline landmarks to the two MSP were separately measured, and the significance of differences between measurements corresponding to two reference planes were assessed using the paired t test. Except for the posterior nasal spine (PNS)-MSP, the distances from other soft and hard tissue landmarks to the MSP in the orbital margin plane group were significantly shorter than those in the skull base plane group. In the 3-dimensional measurement analysis, the skeletal and soft tissue anatomical midline landmarks were closer to the MSP in the orbital margin plane group. The MSP crossing point N, perpendicular to the FZ suture line, was more accurate and suitable.

The correlation between ultrasonic wave propagation and polycrystalline microstructures has significant implications in nondestructive evaluation. An original numerical approach using the finite element method to quantify in both time and frequency domains the ultrasonic noise scattering due to the elastic heterogeneity of polycrystalline microstructures is presented. Based on the reciprocity theorem, it allows the scattering evaluation using mechanical data recorded only on the boundary of polycrystal instead of within its volume and is applicable to any polycrystalline aggregate regardless of its crystallographic or morphological characteristics. Consequently it gives a more realistic and accurate access of polycrystalline microstructures than the classical analytical models developed under the assumption of single scattering and the Born approximation. The numerical approach is proposed within the same unified theoretical framework as the classical analytical models, so it is possible to validate it in the cases of idealized microstructures for which the considered analytical models remain relevant. As an original result, assuming single phase, untextured and equiaxed microstructures, two-dimensional (2D) theoretical formulas are developed and a frequency-dependent coefficient is found compared to the classical three-dimensional (3D) formulas. 2D numerical simulations are then performed for idealized microstructures composed of hexagonal grains with a uniform grain-size. Three grain sizes are considered herein and involve different scattering regions. Good comparisons are obtained between theoretical and numerical estimates of the backscattering coefficient, which validate the numerical approach. Effects of the grain boundary orientations are analyzed by modeling an irregular hexagonal grain morphology and a random grain morphology generated by an established Voronoi approach. The origin of the significant oscillation level of backscattering is then investigated and discussed.

Abstract
SETTING Respiratory symptoms in relation to environment in Taiyuan, China. OBJECTIVE To study associations between school/home exposure and prevalence of respiratory symptoms and self-reported respiratory infections (RIs) among students. DESIGN A total of 2134 pupils from 10 schools answered a questionnaire; air pollution at school was measured. RESULTS The prevalence of current wheeze, daytime attacks of breathlessness, nocturnal cough, nocturnal respiratory symptoms and RI was respectively 4.4%, 18.7%, 11.6%, 3.6% and 32.3%. Environmental tobacco smoke (ETS) at home was associated with daytime attacks of breathlessness (OR 1.41), nocturnal cough (OR 1.41) and RI (OR 1.26). Redecoration or indoor painting at home was associated with wheeze (OR 2.02), daytime attacks of breathlessness (OR 1.57) and nocturnal symptoms (OR 1.83). Dampness or mould at home was associated with daytime attacks of breathlessness (OR 1.68), nocturnal cough (OR 1.68) and RI (OR 1.69). Particulate matter of diameter 10 microns (PM10) in the classroom was associated with nocturnal cough (OR 1.20/10 μg/m3). PM10 outside school was associated with daytime attacks of breathlessness (OR 1.07/10 μg/m3) and nocturnal cough (OR 1.13/10 μg/m3). Indoor carbon dioxide, a marker of poor ventilation (OR 1.52/1000 parts per million), and relative humidity (RH) (OR 1.33/10%) were associated with nocturnal cough. CONCLUSION Dampness, redecoration and ETS at home, as well as poor ventilation flow, and high RH and PM10 concentration at school may influence respiratory health.

Interpretation of liver stiffness measurement-based approach for the monitoring of hepatitis B patients with antiviral therapy: A 2-year prospective study. J Viral Hepat 2018; 25:296-305. Abstract
Liver biopsy is not routinely performed in treated chronic hepatitis B. Liver stiffness measurement has been validated for noninvasive liver fibrosis assessment in pretreatment chronic hepatitis B but has not been assessed for fibrosis monitoring during antiviral therapy. Liver stiffness was systemically monitored by Fibroscan® every 6 months in a cohort of patients with hepatitis B receiving antiviral therapy and compared with liver biopsies at baseline and week 104. A total of 534 hepatitis B e antigen-positive treatment-naive patients receiving telbivudine-based therapy with qualified liver stiffness measurement at baseline and week 104 were analyzed, 164 of which had adequate paired liver biopsies. Liver stiffness decreased rapidly (-2.2 kPa/24 weeks) in parallel with alanine aminotransferase (ALT) from 8.6 (2.6-49.5) kPa at baseline to 6.1 (2.2-37.4) kPa at week 24. Interestingly, liver stiffness decreased slowly (-0.3 kPa/24 weeks) but continually from week 24 to week 104 (6.1 vs 5.3 kPa, P < .001) while ALT levels remained stable within the normal range. More importantly, liver stiffness declined significantly irrespective of baseline ALT levels and liver necroinflammation grades. From baseline to week 104, the proportion of patients with no or mild fibrosis (Ishak, 0-2) increased from 74.4% (122/164) to 93.9% (154/164). Multivariate analysis revealed that percentage decline of 52-week liver stiffness from baseline was independently associated with 104-week liver fibrosis regression (odds ratio, 3.742; P = .016). Early decline of 52-week liver stiffness from baseline may reflect the remission of both liver inflammation and fibrosis and was predictive of 104-week fibrosis regression in treated patients with chronic hepatitis B.

Abstract
Rapidity-odd directed-flow measurements at midrapidity are presented for Λ, Λ[over ¯], K^{±}, K_{s}^{0}, and ϕ at sqrt[s_{NN}]=7.7, 11.5, 14.5, 19.6, 27, 39, 62.4, and 200 GeV in Au+Au collisions recorded by the Solenoidal Tracker detector at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider. These measurements greatly expand the scope of data available to constrain models with differing prescriptions for the equation of state of quantum chromodynamics. Results show good sensitivity for testing a picture where flow is assumed to be imposed before hadron formation and the observed particles are assumed to form via coalescence of constituent quarks. The pattern of departure from a coalescence-inspired sum rule can be a valuable new tool for probing the collision dynamics.
