Abstract
Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-related stigma among HIV-infected men who have sex with men (MSM) has been associated with adverse health outcomes, including poor adherence to antiretroviral therapy and care, and increased participation in behaviors linked to higher rates of HIV transmission. In China, the incidence of HIV is growing more rapidly among MSM than among other subgroups. This study characterizes and quantifies HIV stigma among HIV-infected MSM in Beijing, China, which arguably may be driving this epidemic. A cross-sectional survey study was performed among 266 HIV-positive MSM in Beijing, China, in 2014. The Berger HIV Stigma Scale was used to measure levels of HIV-related stigma. Participants additionally answered questions regarding socio-demographic characteristics and HIV-associated risk factors; previously validated Mandarin-language scales assessed depression, coping style, and social support networks. Multivariable linear regression models were used to identify variables significantly associated with HIV stigma. The mean overall HIV stigma score among the study population was 112.78 ± 18.11 (score range: 40-160). Higher HIV stigma scores were positively associated with depression (β = 7.99, 95% CI:3.69, 12.29, p < .001) and negative coping skills (β = 0.64, 95% CI:0.21,1.08, p < .01), and was negatively associated with disclosed HIV status (β = -6.45, 95%CI:-11.80, -1.11, p < .05), and availability of social support networks (β = -0.12, 95%CI:-0.22, -0.02, p < .05). Other variables such as poor self-rated health status and presence of opportunistic infections were positively associated with individual dimensions of HIV-related stigma. The results of this study can inform the development of culturally sensitive interventions to reduce HIV-related stigma among MSM with HIV in China, with the overarching goal of reducing HIV transmission in this vulnerable population.

Abstract
Gold nanorods (GNRs) attract extensive attention in current diagnostic and therapeutic applications which require the synthesis of GNRs with high yields, adjustable aspect ratio, size monodispersity, and easy surface decoration. In the seed-mediated synthesis of GNRs using cetyl trimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB) micelles as templates, the additives of aromatic compounds have been found to be important for improving the size monodispersity of the as-synthesized GNRs; this is hopeful in terms of the further optimization of the synthetic methodology of GNRs. In this work, resveratrol, a natural polyphenol in grapes with an anti-oxidization behavior, is employed as the reductant for the seedless synthesis of GNRs with a good size monodispersity and a tunable aspect ratio. Accordingly, the longitudinal localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) peak is tunable from 570 to 950 nm. The success of our approach is attributed to the aromatic structure and mild reducibility of resveratrol. The embedment of resveratrol into CTAB micelles strengthens the facet-selective adsorption of CTAB, and therewith facilitates the anisotropic growth of GNRs. In addition, the mild reducibility of resveratrol is capable of supporting GNR growth by avoiding secondary nucleation, thus allowing the seedless synthesis of GNRs with a good size monodispersity. As a chemopreventive agent, the combination of resveratrol in GNR synthesis will consolidate the theranostic applications of GNRs.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the impact of previous cystectomy for ovary benign cyst on ovarian reserve and pregnancy outcome in in vitro fertilization/intracytoplasmic sperm injection-embryo transfer (IVF/ICSI-ET) cycles. METHODS Totally 622 infertility patients were retrospectively investigated who underwent first IVF/ICSI-ET cycle in Reproductive Hospital Affiliated to Shandong University from January 2013 to June 2014. There were 153 cases who had been removed ovarian cyst by cystectomy surgeries recruited as study group, in which 44 cases of ovarian endometriosis cyst, 35 cases of benign ovarian teratomas, 67 cases of simple ovarian cyst and 7 cases of ovarian mucinous cystadenoma. In contrast, 469 infertility patients with tubal-factor infertility or male factor were included as control group. The age-matched women in the control group had no ovarian surgery previously. The indicators of ovarian reserve and pregnancy outcome were analyzed between two groups. The influence of different types of ovarian cysts on ovarian reserve and pregnancy outcome in IVF/ICSI-ET cycles were also studied, ovarian endometriosis cyst was studied as Group A, and Group B consisted of benign ovarian teratomas, simple ovarian cyst and mucinous cystadenoma. RESULTS (1) The significantly lower serum antimullerian hormone (AMH) level (median: 1.92 versus 2.90 mg/L), antral follicle count (AFC; median: 12.0 versus 13.0), retrieved oocytes (12±5 versus 13±6) and the number of embryo cryopreserved (median: 1.0 versus 3.0) were found in study group compared with control group (all P<0.05). There was no statistical difference between two group for the following parameters, such as basal FSH level, the total dosage of gonadotropin duration and the total dosage of gonadotropin (all P>0.05). A better clinical pregnancy rate was achieved in control group (61.6%, 241/391) than that in study group (61.4%, 81/132), but no significant difference was existed (P=0.96). (2) Compared to Group B, Group A had fewer AFC, lower serum AMH level, retrieved oocytes and the number of embryo cryopreserved (11±4 versus 13±5; 1.65 versus 2.15 mg/L; 9±4 versus 13±5; 0 versus 2.0; all P< 0.01). There was a lower clinical pregnancy rate in Group A than that in Group B [50.0% (19/38) versus 66.0% (62/94)], accompanying with higher abortion rate [3/19 versus 9.7% (6/62)], but no differences were observed (all P>0.05). CONCLUSIONS Ovarian reserve declines after the cystectomy for ovarian benign cysts and the cystectomy has a negative impact on IVF/ICSI-ET cycle, resulting in a decrease of the number of retrieved oocytes and the number of embryo cryopreserved, but do not influence clinical pregnancy outcome. Ovarian reserve is impaired more seriously by cystectomy for ovarian endometriosis cyst than other ovarian benign cyst.

Abstract
Current immunosuppressive/anti-inflammatory agents target the responding effector arm of the immune response and their nonspecific action increases the risk of infection and malignancy. These effects impact on their use in allogeneic haematopoietic cell transplantation and other forms of transplantation. Interventions that target activated dendritic cells (DCs) have the potential to suppress the induction of undesired immune responses (for example, graft versus host disease (GVHD) or transplant rejection) and to leave protective T-cell immune responses intact (for example, cytomegalovirus (CMV) immunity). We developed a human IgG1 monoclonal antibody (mAb), 3C12, specific for CD83, which is expressed on activated but not resting DC. The 3C12 mAb and an affinity improved version, 3C12C, depleted CD83(+) cells by CD16(+) NK cell-mediated antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity, and inhibited allogeneic T-cell proliferation in vitro. A single dose of 3C12C prevented human peripheral blood mononuclear cell-induced acute GVHD in SCID mouse recipients. The mAb 3C12C depleted CMRF-44(+)CD83(bright) activated DC but spared CD83(dim/-) DC in vivo. It reduced human T-cell activation in vivo and maintained the proportion of CD4(+) FoxP3(+) CD25(+) Treg cells and also viral-specific CD8(+) T cells. The anti-CD83 mAb, 3C12C, merits further evaluation as a new immunosuppressive agent in transplantation.

Abstract
IntroductionAs the population ages, cognitive impairment is prevalent among older adults and this may cause a huge burden to society. In order to take precautions effectively, we need to understand the characteristics of cognitive function of older adults, especially the individuals with mild cognitive impairment (MCI).ObjectivesTo explore the characteristics of cognitive function changes in individuals with mild cognitive impairment.MethodsA total of 108 individuals with MCI as MCI group and 108 volunteers as control group were recruited in the study. The age, gender and years of schooling were matched between the two groups. The cognitive function was evaluated with the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA).ResultsIndividuals of MCI group performed poorer than those of control group on executive function, attention, calculation, language and delayed memory. The difference between the two groups was statistically significant (P < 0.05). The cognitive impairment in participants with MCI were delayed memory (100%), language (75%), executive function (66.7%), attention (44%) and calculation (20.4%).ConclusionsThe impairment of memory, language and executive function is the primary characteristics in individuals with MCI. Individuals with MCI have similar characteristics with early stage Alzheimer's disease (AD). Abstract
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE SPG7 is one of the most common forms of autosomal recessive hereditary spastic paraplegia. The phenotype has been shown to be heterogeneous, varying from a complex spastic ataxia to pure spastic paraplegia or pure ataxia. The aim of this study was to clinically and genetically characterize patients with SPG7 in Norway. METHODS Six Norwegian families with a clinical diagnosis of hereditary spastic paraplegia were diagnosed with SPG7 through Sanger sequencing and whole-exome sequencing. Haplotypes were established to identify a possible founder mutation. All patients were thoroughly examined and the clinical and molecular findings are described. RESULTS The core phenotype was spastic paraparesis with ataxia, bladder disturbances and progressive external ophthalmoplegia. The variant p.H701P was identified in homozygous state in one family and in compound heterozygous state in three families. Haplotype analysis of seven surrounding single nucleotide polymorphisms supports that this variant resides on a founder haplotype. Four of the families were compound heterozygous for the previously well-described p.A510V variant. CONCLUSION SPG7 is a common subgroup of hereditary spinocerebellar disorders in Norway. The broad phenotype in the Norwegian SPG7 population illustrates the challenges with the traditional dichotomous classification of hereditary spinocerebellar disorders into hereditary spastic paraplegia or hereditary ataxia. A Norwegian founder mutation p.H701P was identified in four out of six families, making it a major cause of SPG7 in Norway.

Abstract
Electrophoretic deposition (EPD) is a conventional method for fabricating film materials from nanometer-sized building blocks, and exhibits the advantages of low-cost, high-efficiency, wide-range thickness adjustment, and uniform deposition. Inspired by the interest in the application of two-dimensional (2D) nanomaterials, the EPD technique has been recently extended to building blocks with 2D features. However, the studies are mainly focused on simplex building blocks. The utilization of multiplex building blocks is rarely reported. In this work, we demonstrate a controlled EPD of Cu and Au sheets, which are 2D assemblies of luminescent Cu and Au nanoclusters. Systematic investigations reveal that both the deposition efficiency and the thickness are determined by the lateral size of the sheets. For Cu sheets with a large lateral size, a high ζ-potential and strong face-to-face van der Waals interactions facilitate the deposition with high efficiency. However, for Au sheets, the small lateral size and ζ-potential limit the formation of a thick film. To solve this problem, the deposition dynamics are controlled by increasing the concentration of the Au sheets and adding acetone. This understanding permits the fabrication of a binary EPD film by the stepwise deposition of Cu and Au sheets, thus producing a luminescent film with both Cu green emission and Au red emission. A white light-emitting diode prototype with color coordinates (x, y) = (0.31, 0.36) is fabricated by employing the EPD film as a color conversion layer on a 365 nm GaN clip and further tuning the amount of deposited Cu and Au sheets.

Abstract
Main duct intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms (MD-IPMNs) of the pancreas are located in the dilated main pancreatic duct and associated with mucin overproduction. They may have a high degree of malignancy and lack specific clinical manifestations. With advantages of thin slice thickness, high resolution, multi-phase dynamic scan and multiple post-processing techniques, multislice helical computed tomography (MSCT) can accurately diagnose and differentiate malignant from benign MD-IPMNs. This paper will review the current advances in differentiating malignant from benign MD-IPMNs by MSCT.

Abstract
As promising heavy metal-free emitting materials, Ag-In-Se nanocrystals (NCs) are conventionally synthesized using organic phosphine agents and exhibit near-infrared emissions. In this work, we demonstrate a rapid phosphine-free approach for synthesizing Ag-In-Se alloy NCs with the emissions tunable to the visible region on the basis of the phosphine-free dissolution of Se powder. At room temperature, Se powder is reduced by dodecanethiol and dissolved in oleylamine to produce a Se precursor. The resultant Se precursor is highly active, which permits rapid synthesis at a relatively low temperature, such as at 90 °C for 150 s. By optimizing the size, structure, and composition, the photoluminescence quantum yield of the as-synthesized Ag-In-Se NCs is enhanced to up to 10%. The growth of the Ag-In-Se NCs involves composition and phase transition, which strongly depend on the reaction temperature. The Ag2Se nuclei form first, and the Ag-In-Se NCs are produced by doping In(3+) into the preformed Ag2Se nuclei. Tetragonal phase Ag-In-Se is obtained below 170 °C, while the orthorhombic phase appears over 190 °C. The potential of Ag-In-Se NCs as red emitting phosphors for lighting-emitting diodes is further demonstrated.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Esophageal perforation is a serious, but rare complication of high mortality following the endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) procedure. The aim of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of nonsurgical treatment of esophageal perforations caused by ESD based on our clinical experience. METHODS From January 2009 to November 2013, 8 patients were diagnosed with endoscopic perforation of the esophagus caused by ESD in our center. All cases were treated with nonsurgical measures, such as metallic clips, conservative treatment alone and therapeutic drainage. RESULTS The places of perforation were closured by metallic clips immediately in 4 patients. Two patients were cured with conservative treatment alone. Therapeutic drainage with large-bore tube thoracostomy was applied in another 2 patients who had empyema following esophageal perforation. All of the patients were treated nonsurgically, and recovered well. CONCLUSION Esophageal perforation caused by ESD can be detected and treated timely, and nonsurgical treatment seems to be a feasible and effective option for clinicians.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Many studies suggest that adenosine deaminase is a marker for tuberculous pericarditis, while controversy exists as to its diagnostic utility. This study aims to summarize the overall diagnostic performance of adenosine deaminase for tuberculous pericarditis through a meta-analysis. MATERIALS AND METHODS Literatures published before May 2015 were searched in PubMed and EMBASE. The data were retrieved and the sensitivity, specificity, positive/negative likelihood ratio (PLR/NLR), diagnostic odds ratio (DOR) of adenosine deaminase for diagnosing tuberculous pericarditis were pooled, and the summary receiver operating characteristic (SROC) curves were used to examine the overall performance of adenosine deaminase. RESULTS In total, 11 studies with 938 subjects were included in the meta-analysis. The summary estimates of adenosine deaminase for diagnosing tuberculous pericarditis were listed as follows: sensitivity of 0.90 (95% CI: 0.86-0.93), specificity of 0.86 (95% CI: 0.83-0.89), PLR of 5.90 (95% CI: 4.46-7.82), NLR of 0.15 (95% CI: 0.09-0.26), and DOR of 42.55 (95% CI: 21.51-84.18). The area under the SROC curve was 0.92, and the Q value was 0.85. No publication bias was identified. CONCLUSIONS Adenosine deaminase is a valuable marker with both high sensitivity and specificity in the diagnosis of tuberculous pericarditis. Nevertheless, the results of adenosine deaminase assays should be interpreted in combination with other test results and clinical characteristics of patients.

Abstract
Healthcare workers who have received disaster preparedness education are more likely to report a greater understanding of disaster preparedness. However, research indicates that current nursing curricula do not adequately prepare nurses to respond to disasters. This is the first study to assess Asia-Pacific nurses' perceptions about their level of disaster knowledge, skills, and preparedness. A cross-sectional survey was conducted with 757 hospital and community nurses in seven Asia-Pacific countries. Data were collected using the modified Disaster Preparedness Evaluation Tool. Participants were found to have overall low-to-moderate levels of disaster knowledge, skills and preparedness, wherein important gaps were identified. A majority of the variance in disaster preparedness scores was located at the level of the individual respondent, not linked to countries or institutions. Multilevel random effects modelling identified disaster experience and education as significant factors of positive perceptions of disaster knowledge, skills, and management. The first step toward disaster preparedness is to ensure frontline health workers are able to respond effectively to disaster events. The outcomes of this study have important policy and education implications.

Abstract
Surface ligand dynamics of colloidal quantum dots (QDs) has been revealed as an important issue for determining QDs performance in their synthesis and postsynthesis treatment, such as ligand-related photoluminescence, colloidal stability, and so forth. However, this issue is less associated with the preparation of highly luminescent nanocomposites, which usually leads to poor performance and repeatability. In this work, on the basis of the studies about surface ligand dynamics of aqueous QDs, highly luminescent QDs-cellulose composites are prepared and employed to fabricate high color purity light-emitting diodes (LEDs). Detailed investigations indicate that the species of QD capping ligands and in particular the temperature are the key for controlling the ligand dynamics. The preparation of nanocomposites using less dynamic ligand-modified QDs at low temperature overcomes the conventional problems of QD aggregation, low QD content, luminescence quenching and shift, thus producing highly luminescent QDs-cellulose composites. This protocol is available for a variety of aqueous QDs, such as CdS, CdSe, CdTe, and CdSe(x)Te(1-x), which permits the design and fabrication of QD-based LEDs using the nanocomposites as color conversion layer on a blue emitting InGaN chip.

Abstract
Brassinosteroids (BRs) and ABA co-ordinately regulate water deficit tolerance in maize leaves. ZmMAP65-1a, a maize microtubule-associated protein (MAP) which plays an essential role in BR-induced antioxidant defense, has been characterized previously. However, the interactions among BR, ABA and ZmMAP65-1a in water deficit tolerance remain unexplored. In this study, we demonstrated that ABA was required for BR-induced antioxidant defense via ZmMAP65-1a by using biochemical blocking and ABA biosynthetic mutants. The expression of ZmMAP65-1a in maize leaves and mesophyll protoplasts could be increased under polyethylene glycol- (PEG) stimulated water deficit and ABA treatments. Furthermore, the importance of ABA in the early pathway of BR-induced water deficit tolerance was demonstrated by limiting ABA availability. Blocking ABA biosynthesis biochemically or by a null mutation inhibited the downstream gene expression of ZmMAP65-1a and the activity of ZmMAPK5 in the pathway. It also affected the activities of BR-induced antioxidant defense-related enzymes, namely ascorbate peroxidase (APX), catalase (CAT), glutathione reductase (GR), superoxide dismutase (SOD) and NADPH oxidase. In addition, combining results from transiently overexpressed or silenced ZmMAP65-1a in mesophyll protoplasts, we discovered that ZmMAP65-1a mediated the ABA-induced gene expression and activities of APX and SOD. Surprisingly, silencing of ZmMAP65-1a in mesophyll protoplasts did not alter the gene expression of ZmCCaMK and vice versa in response to ABA. Taken together, our data indicate that water deficit-induced ABA is a key mediator in BR-induced antioxidant defense via ZmMAP65-1a in maize.

Abstract
Metasequoia glyptostroboides Hu et Cheng is the only species in the genus Metasequoia Miki ex Hu et Cheng, which belongs to the Cupressaceae family. There were around 10 species in the Metasequoia genus, which were widely spread across the Northern Hemisphere during the Cretaceous of the Mesozoic and in the Cenozoic. M. glyptostroboides is the only remaining representative of this genus. Here, we report the complete chloroplast (cp) genome sequence and the cp genomic features of M. glyptostroboides. The M. glyptostroboides cp genome is 131,887 bp in length, with a total of 117 genes comprised of 82 protein-coding genes, 31 tRNA genes and four rRNA genes. In this genome, 11 forward repeats, nine palindromic repeats, and 15 tandem repeats were detected. A total of 188 perfect microsatellites were detected through simple sequence repeat (SSR) analysis and these were distributed unevenly within the cp genome. Comparison of the cp genome structure and gene order to those of several other land plants indicated that a copy of the inverted repeat (IR) region, which was found to be IR region A (IRA), was lost in the M. glyptostroboides cp genome. The five most divergent and five most conserved genes were determined and further phylogenetic analysis was performed among plant species, especially for related species in conifers. Finally, phylogenetic analysis demonstrated that M. glyptostroboides is a sister species to Cryptomeria japonica (L. F.) D. Don and to Taiwania cryptomerioides Hayata. The complete cp genome sequence information of M. glyptostroboides will be great helpful for further investigations of this endemic relict woody plant and for in-depth understanding of the evolutionary history of the coniferous cp genomes, especially for the position of M. glyptostroboides in plant systematics and evolution.

Abstract
Human terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase (hTdT) is a DNA polymerase that functions to generate diversity in the adaptive immune system. Here, we focus on the function of naturally occurring single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of hTdT to evaluate their role in genetic-generated immune variation. The data demonstrate that the genetic variations generated by the hTdT SNPs will vary the human immune repertoire and thus its responses. Human TdT catalyzes template-independent addition of nucleotides (N-additions) during coding joint formation in V(D)J recombination. Its activity is crucial to the diversity of the antigen receptors of B and T lymphocytes. We used in vitro polymerase assays and in vivo human cell V(D)J recombination assays to evaluate the activity and the N-addition levels of six natural (SNP) variants of hTdT. In vitro, the variants differed from wild-type hTdT in polymerization ability with four having significantly lower activity. In vivo, the presence of TdT varied both the efficiency of recombination and N-addition, with two variants generating coding joints with significantly fewer N-additions. Although likely heterozygous, individuals possessing these genetic changes may have less diverse B- and T-cell receptors that would particularly effect individuals prone to adaptive immune disorders, including autoimmunity.
