Abstract
This paper reports 8 cases of pseudomembranous colitis, 2 cases of fungal infection and 15 cases of drug fever, all of which were caused by persistent use of large doses of antibiotics following open heart surgery. The clinical characteristics of these complications and the methods of treating them are discussed, and the rational preventive use of antibiotics is emphasized.
