Abstract
A heterogeneous copper-catalyzed A3 coupling reaction of aldehydes, amines, and alkynes for the synthesis of propargylamines and benzofurans has been developed. Here, the modified metal-organic framework MIL-101(Cr)-SB-Cu complex was chosen as the heterogeneous copper catalyst and prepared via post-synthetic modification of amino-functionalized MIL-101(Cr). The structure, morphology, thermal stability, and copper content of the catalyst were determined by FT-IR, PXRD, SEM, TEM, EDX, TGA, XPS, and ICP-OES. The catalyst shows high catalytic activity for the aforementioned reactions under solvent-free reaction conditions. High yields, low catalyst loading, easy catalyst recovery and reusability with not much shrink in catalytic activity, and a good yield of 82% in gram-scale synthesis are some of the benefits of this protocol that drove it towards sustainability.

Efficient Synthesis of 1 H-Benzo[4,5]imidazo[1,2- c][1,3]oxazin-1-one Derivatives Using Ag 2CO 3/TFA-Catalyzed 6- endo-dig Cyclization: Reaction Scope and Mechanistic Study. Molecules 2023; 28:molecules28052403. Abstract
A small library of 1H-benzo[4,5]imidazo[1,2-c][1,3]oxazin-1-one derivatives was prepared in good to excellent yields, involving a Ag2CO3/TFA-catalyzed intramolecular oxacyclization of N-Boc-2-alkynylbenzimidazole substrates. In all experiments, the 6-endo-dig cyclization was exclusively achieved since the possible 5-exo-dig heterocycle was not observed, indicating the high regioselectivity of this process. The scope and limitations of the silver catalyzed 6-endo-dig cyclization of N-Boc-2-alkynylbenzimidazoles as substrates, bearing various substituents, were investigated. While ZnCl2 has shown limits for alkynes with an aromatic substituent, Ag2CO3/TFA demonstrated its effectiveness and compatibility regardless of the nature of the starting alkyne (aliphatic, aromatic or heteroaromatic), providing a practical regioselective access to structurally diverse 1H-benzo[4,5]imidazo[1,2-c][1,3]oxazin-1-ones in good yields. Moreover, the rationalization of oxacyclization selectivity in favor of 6-endo-dig over 5-exo-dig was explained by a complementary computational study.

Abstract
A protocol for the chemically divergent synthesis of β-lactams and α-amino acid derivatives with isothiourea (ITU) catalysis by switching solvents was developed. The stereospecific Mannich reaction occurring between imine and C(1)-ammonium enolate generated zwitterionic intermediates, which underwent intramolecular lactamization and afforded β-lactam derivatives when DCM and CH3CN were used as solvents. However, when EtOH was used as the solvent, the intermediates underwent an intermolecular esterification reaction, and α-amino acid derivatives were produced. Detailed mechanistic experiments were conducted to prove that these two kinds of products came from the same intermediates. Furthermore, chemically diversified transformations of β-lactam and α-amino acid derivatives were achieved. A protocol for the solvent directed chemically divergent synthesis of β-lactam and α-amino acid derivatives with chiral isothiourea was reported.![]()

Abstract
1,4-Diamino-2-butynes display both chemical and physiological properties. Here a highly efficient synthesis avenue to generate unsymmetric 1,4-diamino-2-butynes has been developed by microwave-assisted Cu(I)-catalyzed cross-A3-coupling/decarboxylative coupling of two different amines, formaldehyde, and propiolic acid through a domino process. This multicomponent reaction provides a series of target products in moderate to good yields with high chemoselectivity.

Abstract
An electrostatically enhanced phenol is utilized as a straightforward, sustainable, and potent one-component organocatalyst for the atom-economic transformation of epoxides to oxazolidinones under microwave irradiation. Integrating a positively charged center into phenols over a modular one-step preparation gives rise to a bifunctional system with improved acidity and activity, competent in rapid assembly of epoxides and isocyanates under microwave irradiation in a short reaction time (20-60 min). A careful assessment of the efficacy of various positively charged phenols and anilines and the impact of several factors, such as catalyst loading, temperature, and the kind of nucleophile, on catalytic reactivity were examined. Under neat conditions, this one-component catalytic platform was exploited to prepare more than 40 examples of oxazolidinones from a variety of aryl- and alkyl-substituted epoxides and isocyanates within minutes, where up to 96% yield and high degree of selectivity were attained. DFT calculations to achieve reaction barriers for different catalytic routes were conducted to provide mechanistic understanding and corroborated the experimental findings in which concurrent epoxide ring-opening and isocyanate incorporation were proposed.

Abstract
A nano-sized Fe3O4-supported Lewis acid ionic liquid catalyst for the synthesis of polyhydroquinolines and propargylamines under ultrasound irradiation has been developed. LAIL@MNP was synthesized from imidazolium chlorozincate(ii) ionic liquid grafted onto the surface of Fe3O4 nanoparticles and evaluated by FT-IR, TGA, SEM, Raman, TEM, ICP-OES, and EDS. The multicomponent synthesis of polyhydroquinolines and propargylamines proceeded smoothly to afford the desired products in high yields. LAIL@MNP can be separated easily from the reaction mixture and reused for several runs without a significant degradation in catalytic activity. Abstract
α-Amido sulfones can be directly used as N-acylimine or N-acyliminium ion precursors in several synthetic processes aimed at the preparation of nitrogen containing compounds. This review collects the most relevant and practical utilizations of α-amido sulfones appeared in the literature after 2005.

Abstract
N-Mesyloxycarbamates undergo intramolecular C-H amination reactions to afford oxazolidinones in good to excellent yields in the presence of rhodium(ii) carboxylate catalysts. The reaction is performed under green conditions and potassium carbonate is used, forming biodegradable potassium mesylate as a reaction by-product. This method enables the production of electron-rich, electron-deficient, aromatic and heteroaromatic oxazolidinones in good to excellent yields. Conformationally restricted cyclic secondary N-mesyloxycarbamates furnish cis-oxazolidinones in high yields and selectivity; DFT calculations are provided to account for the observed selectivity. trans-Oxazolidinones were prepared from acyclic secondary N-mesyloxycarbamates using Rh2(oct)4. The selectivity was reverted with a cytoxazone N-mesyloxycarbamate precursor using large chiral rhodium(ii) carboxylate complexes, affording the corresponding cis-oxazolidinone. This orthogonal selectivity was used to achieve the formal synthesis of (-)-cytoxazone.

Abstract
The synthesis of propargylamines via A3 coupling mostly under metal-catalyzed procedures is well known. This work invented an unprecedented effect of salicylaldehyde, one of the A3 coupling partners, which could lead to the formation of propargylamine, an important pharmaceutical building block, in the absence of any metal catalyst and under mild conditions. The role of the hydroxy group in ortho position of salicylaldehyde has been explored, which presumably activates the Csp-H bond of the terminal alkyne leading to the formation of propargylamines in good to excellent yields, thus negating the function of the metal catalyst. This observation is hitherto unknown, tested for a variety of salicylaldehyde, amine and acetylene, established as a general protocol, and is believed to be of interest for synthetic chemists from green chemistry.
