Abstract
As industrialization progresses, there is a large release of hazardous pollutants into the environment. These pollutants, which contain nitro compounds and organic dyes, are extremely dangerous due to their toxic and carcinogenic nature. An efficient, environmentally benign, and economical catalyst to degrade environmental pollutants or convert them into useful products has been of sustained interest in recent years. In this context, we report a simple and inexpensive combustion fabrication of NiCrFeO4 using different fuels such as glycine, polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), and urea, showing tremendous catalytic and photocatalytic functionalities. Rietveld refinement and X-ray diffraction studies confirmed the formation of single-phase ferrites, with crystallite sizes ranging from 3.9 to 43.31 nm. The values of optical band gap, obtained from the diffused reflectance spectroscopy technique, lie in the visible region range (1.50-1.60 eV), and hence, all the synthesized ferrites can act as good photocatalysts in the presence of visible light. All the NCF nanocatalysts were utilized for the reduction of nitroarenes and photocatalytic degradation of various cationic (RhB and MB) and anionic (MO) dyes and their mixture. NCFP displayed excellent activity for the reduction and oxidation reactions owing to its large surface area and low optical band gap. Furthermore, the photo-oxidative degradation by NCFP was also enhanced due to its low recombination of charge carriers as confirmed by the photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy. NCFP efficiently reduces nitrobenzene to aminobenzene with 95% yield using sodium borohydride as the reducing agent in methanol medium at RT in 10 min. The results of photocatalytic activity have shown that the degradation efficiency of NCFP follows the order RhB > MB > MO in their unitary solution. Furthermore, in the case of the mixture of dyes, NCFP showed enhanced photocatalytic degradation for cationic dyes (RhB and MB) compared to that of anionic dye (MO). From the performance point of view, this catalyst can be useful in industrial application because of its high stability, greater catalytic efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

Abstract
Hallmark of a successful catalyst is its high efficiency, economic aspects, operational simplicity, extensive reusability, higher environment friendliness, and potential use in multiple industrial applications. Herein, a facile protocol involving a catalyst with Pd nanoparticles supported on cellulose paper (also known as a "dip-catalyst") for the hydrogenation of a series of quinolines, nitroarene, and C-C bond formation reactions in most benign solvents such as water is described. The mere insertion/removal of the "dip-catalyst" strip enables instantaneous start/stop of the reaction, which enhances its reusability and ease of separation of products. Cellulose paper (CP) strips decorated with Pd nanoparticles (Pd/CP) are prepared by the reduction of K2 PdCl4 soaked strips using formic acid as reductant. The resulting spherical shaped Pd particles, confirmed by scanning electron microscopy, form stable catalysis centers on the support. XRD signature confirms the crystallinity of the Pd nanoparticles and the TEM images display 15-20 nm size particles uniformly decorating CP. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy indicates the formation of metallic Pd. The catalyst is tested for the C-C bond formation reactions. Pd/CP catalyzed Suzuki-Miyaura coupling reaction demonstrate >99% conversion with optimum selectivity. On the other hand, Mizoroki-Heck reaction produced 87% conversion with the reaction of 4-methoxycarbonyl phenylboronic acid and iodobenzene in ethanol:water (1 : 1 v/v) using KOH as base. The developed Pd/CP construct produces >99% of the pyridine-ring hydrogenated product on quinoline hydrogenation using tetrahydroxydiboron (THDB) as the hydrogen source. Diverse and highly reducible functional groups were also evaluated for transfer hydrogenation, which demonstrates a high efficiency in terms of both reactivity and selectivity. The used catalysts are recyclable for the multiple cycles.

Abstract
This paper presents guanidine-functionalized Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticle-supported palladium (II) (Fe3O4@Guanidine-Pd) as an effective catalyst for Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling of aryl halides using phenylboronic acids and also for selective reduction of nitroarenes to their corresponding amines. Fe3O4@Guanidine-Pd synthesized is well characterized using FT-IR spectroscopy, XRD, SEM, TEM, EDX, thermal gravimetric analysis, XPS, inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectroscopy, and vibrating sample magnetometry analysis. The prepared Fe3O4@Guanidine-Pd showed effective catalytic performance in the Suzuki-Miyaura coupling reactions by converting aryl halides to their corresponding biaryl derivatives in an aqueous environment in a shorter reaction time and with a meagerly small amount of catalyst (0.22 mol %). Also, the prepared Fe3O4@Guanidine-Pd effectively reduced nitroarenes to their corresponding amino derivatives in aqueous media at room temperature with a high turnover number and turnover frequency with the least amount of catalyst (0.13 mol %). The most prominent feature of Fe3O4@Guanidine-Pd as a catalyst is the ease of separation of the catalyst from the reaction mixture after the reaction with the help of an external magnet with good recovery yield and also reuse of the recovered catalyst for a few cycles without significant loss in its catalytic activity.

Abstract
In the present study, a novel heterogeneous catalyst was successfully fabricated through the decoration of palladium nanoparticles on the surface of designed Fe3O4-coffee waste composite (Pd-Fe3O4-CWH) for the catalytic reduction of nitroarenes. Various characterization techniques such as XRD, FE-SEM and EDS were used to establish its nano-sized chemical structure. It was determined that Pd-Fe3O4-CWH is a useful nanocatalyst, which can efficiently reduce various nitroarenes, including 4-nitrobenzoic acid (4-NBA), 4-nitroaniline (4-NA), 4-nitro-o-phenylenediamine (4-NPD), 2-nitroaniline (2-NA) and 3-nitroanisole (3-NAS), using NaBH4 in aqueous media and ambient conditions. Catalytic reactions were monitored with the help of high-performance liquid chromatography. Additionally, Pd-Fe3O4-CWH was proved to be a reusable catalyst by maintaining its catalytic activity through six successive runs. Moreover, the nanocatalyst displayed a superior catalytic performance compared to other catalysts by providing a shorter reaction time to complete the reduction in nitroarenes.

Abstract
A novel reusable Fe3O4@NC@Pt heterogeneous catalyst was synthesized by immobilizing platinum on nitrogen-doped carbon magnetic nanostructures. It was characterized by infrared analysis (FT-IR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). The catalytic efficiency of Fe3O4@NC@Pt was investigated by reduction of nitro aromatic compounds. The catalyst showed good catalytic activity, wide range of substrates, and good chemical selectivity, especially for the substrates of compounds containing halide and carbonyl groups. The magnetically catalyst can readily be reused up to ten cycles without loss of catalytic activity. Moreover, the key pharmaceutical intermediate Lorlatini can be facilely achieved through this strategy.

Abstract
Direct attachment of gold nanoparticles to a green support without the use of an external reducing agent and using it for removing toxic pollutants from wastewater, i. e., reduction of nitroarene to amine, are described. A novel approach involving the reduction of gold by the jute plant (Corchorus genus) stem-based (JPS) support itself to form nanoparticles (AuNPs) to be used as a catalytic system ('dip-catalyst') and its catalytic activity for the hydrogenation of series of nitroarenes in aqueous media are presented. AuNPs/JPS catalyst was characterized using SEM, UV-Vis, FTIR, TEM, XPS, and ICP-OES. Confined area elemental mapping exhibits uniform and homogeneous distribution of AuNPs on the support surface. TEM shows multi-faceted AuNPs in the range of 20-30 nm. The reactivity of AuNPs/JPS for the transfer hydrogenation of nitroarene as well as hydrogenation of quinoline under molecular H2 pressure was evaluated. Sodium borohydride, when used as the hydrogen source, demonstrates a high catalytic efficiency in the transfer hydrogenation reduction of 4-nitrophenol (4-NP). Quinoline is quantitatively and chemoselectively hydrogenated to 1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinoline (py-THQ) using molecular hydrogen. Reusability studies show that AuNPs are stable on the support surface and their selectivity is not affected.

Abstract
Magnetic nanoparticles derived from iron oxide, for example, magnetite
(Fe3O4) and maghemite (γ-Fe2O3), fulfill most of these requirements, and recent advances
in their synthesis give access to size-controlled monodisperse particles. Hybrid
magnetic materials have been synthesized from organic compounds and metal or metal
oxide nanoparticles and examined as catalysts for the organic synthesis. When the reaction
has been completed, the catalysts can be easily separated by simple external magnetic decantation.

Abstract
Graphene oxide was functionalized with chitosan for palladium immobilization (GO–Chit–Pd), which was used as an efficient catalyst for the reduction of aromatic nitro compounds using sodium borohydride in water. To achieve the best catalytic efficacy, various parameters such as temperature, solvent, mole ratio of hydrogen sources, and the amount of catalyst were optimized. The method has been applied to the reduction of a broad range of nitroarenes with different properties. The easy purification, convenient operation, environmental friendliness, and high product yields render this method viable for use. The nanocatalyst can be easily separated and efficiently recovered and reused for multiple cycles without appreciable loss in its catalytic activity.

Abstract
Highly stable gold nanoparticles immobilized on the surface of amine-functionalized nanocomposite microspheres possessing a magnetite (Fe3O4) nanoparticle core and a silica (SiO2) shell (Au/SiO2-shell/Fe3O4-core) were prepared. These gold nanocomposite catalysts were tested for 4-nitrophenol (4-NP) and 2-nitroaniline (2-NA) reduction in aqueous solution in the temperature range 293-323 K and in the presence of aqueous NaBH4 reducing agent. The magnetically recyclable gold catalyst showed high stability (∼3 months), efficient recyclability (up to 10 cycles), and high activity (∼100% conversion within 225 s, ∼700 ppm 4-NP or 2-NA). The pseudo-first-order apparent reaction rate constants (k) of 4-NP and 2-NA reduction were 7.5 × 10-3 and 4.1 × 10-3 s-1, respectively, and with an apparent catalytic activity of 4.48 × 10-8 kmol/(m3 s).

Abstract
The reduction of nitro compounds to the corresponding amines is one of the most utilized catalytic processes in the fine and bulk chemical industry. The latest development of catalysts with cheap metals like Fe, Co, Ni, and Cu has led to their tremendous achievements over the last years prompting their greater application as "standard" catalysts. In this review, we will comprehensively discuss the use of homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysts based on non-noble 3d-metals for the reduction of nitro compounds using various reductants. The different systems will be revised considering both the catalytic performances and synthetic aspects highlighting also their advantages and disadvantages.

Abstract
An efficient and green protocol for the reduction of nitroaromatic compounds to the corresponding amines has been developed. The reduction catalyst system includes NH2NH2·H2O and H2O2-treated activated carbon. Without adding additional metals, the H2O2-treated activated carbon could be reused for many cycles without decreasing catalytic efficiency. The aromatic amines could be obtained in good to excellent yields.

Abstract
The quest for designing efficient heterogeneous catalytic systems for tandem oxidative cyclization reactions has provided a great impetus to research efforts, as it enables the step-economic construction of complex heterocyclic molecules as well as confers the benefits of a facile catalytic recovery. In the present study, we disclose a new core-shell-structured organic-inorganic hybrid copper nanocatalyst fabricated via the covalent grafting of 2,2'-dipyridyl ketone ligand on amine-functionalized silica-encapsulated magnetite nanoparticles, followed by its metallation with cupric acetate for the tandem oxidative cyclization of amines and β-ketoesters, leading to the production of biologically active polysubstituted oxazole moieties. This programmed catalytic protocol proceeds via the formation of intermolecular C-C and C-N bonds by single-step synthesis and accommodates a broad combination of reaction coupling partners.

Abstract
The synthesis of aminomethylphosphine-metal complexes have opened a new perspective to the catalytic applications of organic compounds. Magnetic Fe3O4 nano-core was synthesized using the closed quartz tube with Teflon cover and microwaved 200°C for 1h with power controlled instrument set to max. 600W. Novel nano-composite supported; Fe3O4@SiO2(CH2)3NHArN(CH2PPh2)2 and Fe3O4@SiO2(CH2)3N(CH2PPh2)2 type bis(diphenylphosphinomethyl)amino ligands and their Pd(II) complexes have been synthesized and characterized with FT-IR, SEM, EDX, TEM, UV-Visible, XRD and TG/DTA techniques. All the complexes were used as heterogeneous catalysts in the oxidation of 2-methyl naphthalene (2MN) to 2-methyl-1, 4-naphthoquinone (vitamin K3, menadione, 2MNQ) in the presence of hydrogen peroxide and acetic acid. Selectivity reached about 55-60% with a conversion of 90-96% using the nano-magnetite supported aminomethylphosphine-Pd(II) complexes. The complexes were very active in three times in the catalytic recycling experiments in five catalytic cycles.
