Abstract
The anticorrosion potency of two expired antifungal drugs, namely, bifonazole (BIF) and terconazole (TER), for X65 carbon steel (X65CS) in a 1.0 M HCl solution was estimated using practical and computational measurements. The results of all methods applied showed that the percentage of anticorrosive efficacy (% AE) increased for expired BIF and TER and reduced at elevated temperatures. The % AE values of expired BIF and TER (375 mg L-1) reached 92.08 and 94.19%, respectively, using polarization methods. The anticorrosion activities of the two expired drugs were interpreted based on their adsorption on the X65CS surface. The adsorption occurred according to the Langmuir isotherm model. The polarization results indicated that the expired drugs BIF and TER were mixed inhibitors. The impedance results showed a single capacitive loop, confirming that the charge transfer process controlled the corrosion of X65CS. Expired BIF and TER served as good pitting inhibitors by shifting the pitting potential to positive values. The thermodynamic functions of activation and adsorption were defined and explained. Density functional theory and Monte Carlo simulations were used to investigate the BIF and TER inhibitors. The theoretical parameters were consistent with the experimental results. The anticorrosion efficiencies determined using the various methods were in complete agreement.

Abstract
This research investigated the potential use of 5-chloro-2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one (CMIT) as a biocide in aircraft fuel systems, which is rarely studied due to the unique properties of such systems. The study assessed the effectiveness of CMIT against three microbial isolates using minimum inhibitory concentrations and bacteriostatic tests, and showed that CMIT had good activity against them. Electrochemical studies were conducted to determine the impact of CMIT on the 7B04 aluminum alloy, which demonstrated that CMIT acted as a cathodic inhibitor and exhibited certain levels of short-term and long-term corrosion inhibition effects at concentrations of 100 mg L-1 and 60 mg L-1, respectively. Additionally, the research provided insights into the mechanisms governing microbial problems by studying the reaction of CMIT with glutathione and sulfate. Overall, the study suggested that CMIT may be a useful biocide in aircraft fuel systems and provided important information on its efficacy and mechanism of action.

Abstract
In this research, we explored their capacity for Narcissoside antioxidant and anticholinergic, antidiabetic, and anti-acute myeloid leukaemia. Narcissoside's antioxidant activities were elucidated by the use of various bioanalytical assays. Narcissoside's radical scavenging activities were evaluated by DPPH• and ABTS•+ scavenging activities. On the other hand, IC50 values were calculated for DPPH•, and ABTS•+ scavenging, acetylcholinesterase, and α-glucosidase inhibition effects of narcissoside. IC50 values narcissoside, as 11.54 nM for AChE and 65.58 nM for α-glucosidase were calculated with % Activity-[Inhibitory] graphs. Then, ADME/T analysis of narcissoside molecule was performed to calculate the drug becoming parameters.

Abstract
In this study, the corrosion behavior and mechanism of Ti-6Al-4V in artificial saliva with Candida albicans were investigated using electrochemical and surface analysis techniques. Fluorescence microscopy (FM) and confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM) showed that C. albicans could easily adsorb on the surface of Ti-6Al-4V alloy to form non-dense biofilm. The non-compact biofilm provided necessary conditions for pitting corrosion on Ti-6Al-4V alloys by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) observation. The potentiodynamic polarization (PDP) curves and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) revealed that C. albicans significantly reduced the corrosion resistance of Ti-6Al-4V alloys. The cyclic voltammetry (CV) and differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) results indicated that C. albicans biofilm promoted electron transfer from the anodic sites to cathodic depolarizer during the corrosion process, showing that the role of oral fungi must be considered when evaluating the performance of oral materials. This study may provide a new clue for evaluating the corrosion resistance of dental implant materials in the oral environment.

Abstract
This study aims to synthesize new chalcone oxime functionalized graphene oxide (CO-GO) and investigate the enhancement in corrosion protection. The morphology and structure of the synthesized CO-GO have been characterized by elemental analysis: Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Moreover, the effectiveness of corrosion inhibition was investigated by utilizing electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and potentiodynamic polarization (PDP). The results of the above analyses demonstrate that CO-GO has an outstanding corrosion inhibitor performance of up to 94% and acts as a mixed-type inhibitor with a primarily anodic action. The effect of temperature on a carbon steel surface indicates that the tested composites are chemisorbed. A few techniques were able to provide surface characterization such as scanning electron microscopy and ultraviolet (UV)-visible spectroscopy to confirm inhibitor adsorption on the carbon steel surface.

Abstract
Some metabolic enzyme inhibitors can be used as Multi-target-Directed-Ligands (MTDL) in Medicinal chemistry therefore, synthesis and determination of alternative inhibitors are essential. In this study, novel bis-napthoquinone derivatives (5a-o) were synthesized through a multi-component cascade reaction of two molecules of 2-hydroxy-1,4-naphthoquinone with an aromatic aldehyde in basic media using triethylamine as a catalyst. This novel heterocyclic derivatives (5a-o) are applied to inhibit the carbonic anhydrase (hCA I and hCA II) isoform in low levels of nano molecules with Ki values exist between 4.62 ± 1.01 to 70.45 ± 9.03 nM for hCA I and for hCA II which is physiologically dominant Kis values are in the range of 5.61 ± 1.04 to 73.26 ± 10.25 nM. Further these novel derivatives (5a-o) efficiently inhibit AChE with Ki values in the range of 0.13 ± 0.02 to 3.16 ± 0.56 nM. The compounds are also applied for BChE with Ki values varying between 0.50 ± 0.10 to 9.23 ± 1.15 nM. For α-glycosidase, the most efficient Ki values of 5e and 5f are 76.14 ± 9.60 and 95.27 ± 12.55 nM respectively. Finally, molecular docking calculations against enzymes (acetylcholinesterase, butyrylcholinesterase, and the human carbonic anhydrase I and II) are compared using biological activities of heterocyclic derivatives. After these calculations, an ADME/T analysis is performed to study the future medicinal use of heterocyclic derivatives from lawsone.

Abstract
A potential new drug to treat SARS-CoV-2 infections and chloroquine analogue, 5-((1H-imidazol-1-yl)methyl)quinolin-8-ol (DD1) has been here synthesized and characterized by FT-IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, ultraviolet-visible, ESI-MS and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. DD1 was optimized in gas phase, aqueous and DMSO solutions using hybrid B3LYP/6-311++G(d,p) method. Comparisons between experimental and theoretical infrared spectra, 1H and 13C NMR chemical shifts and electronic spectrum in DMSO solution evidence good concordances. Higher solvation energy was observed in aqueous solution than in DMSO, showing in aqueous solution a higher value than antiviral brincidofovir and chloroquine. on Bond orders, atomic charges and topological studies suggest that imidazole ring play a very important role in the properties of DD1. NBO and AIM analyses support the intra-molecular O15-H16•••N17 bonds of DD1 in the three media. Low gap value supports the higher reactivity of DD1 than chloroquine justified by the higher electrophilicity and low nucleophilicity. Complete vibrational assignments of DD1 in gas phase and aqueous solution are reported together with the scaled force constants. In addition, better intermolecular interactions were observed by Hirshfeld surface analysis. Finally, the molecular docking mechanism between DD1 ligand and COVID-19/6WCF and COVID-19/6Y84 receptors were studied to explore the binding modes of these compounds at the active sites. Molecular docking results have shown that the DD1 molecule can be considered as a potential agent against COVID-19/6Y84-6WCF receptors.

Abstract
In the mol-ecular structure of the title compound, C20H21N3O7, the quinoline ring system is slightly bent, with a dihedral angle between the phenyl and the pyridine rings of 3.47 (7)°. In the crystal, corrugated layers of mol-ecules extending along the ab plane are generated by C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The inter-molecular inter-actions were qu-anti-fied by Hirshfeld surface analysis and two-dimensional fingerprint plots. The most significant contributions to the crystal packing are from H⋯H (42.3%), H⋯O/O⋯H (34.5%) and H⋯C/ C⋯H (17.6%) contacts. Mol-ecular orbital calculations providing electron-density plots of the HOMO and LUMO as well as mol-ecular electrostatic potentials (MEP) were computed, both with the DFT/B3LYP/6-311 G++(d,p) basis set. A mol-ecular docking study between the title mol-ecule and the COVID-19 main protease (PDB ID: 6LU7) was performed, showing that it is a good agent because of its affinity and ability to adhere to the active sites of the protein.

Abstract
Molecular dynamics (MD) simulation is a powerful tool to study the molecular level working mechanism of corrosion inhibitors in mitigating corrosion. In the past decades, MD simulation has emerged as an instrument to investigate the interactions at the interface between the inhibitor molecule and the metal surface. Combined with experimental measurement, theoretical examination from MD simulation delivers useful information on the adsorption ability and orientation of the molecule on the surface. It relates the microscopic characteristics to the macroscopic properties which enables researchers to develop high performance inhibitors. Although there has been vast growth in the number of studies that use molecular dynamic evaluation, there is still lack of comprehensive review specifically for corrosion inhibition of organic inhibitors on ferrous metal in acidic solution. Much uncertainty still exists on the approaches and steps in performing MD simulation for corrosion system. This paper reviews the basic principle of MD simulation along with methods, selection of parameters, expected result such as adsorption energy, binding energy and inhibitor orientation, and recent publications in corrosion inhibition studies.

Abstract
Current study deals with the surface modification of acid activated carbon (prepared from Pongamia pinnata shells) with Cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) and its role as an adsorbent in eliminating anionic azo dyes viz. Congo red (CR) and Direct blue 6 (DB) from single and binary adsorptive systems. Binary adsorptive system involved the synergistic and antagonistic influence of one dye over the adsorption of other dye. Physico-chemical alterations due to surfactant modification and post adsorption were studied using atomic force microscopy (AFM), Zeta Potential, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), surface area analysis and Fourier-transformed infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). Process parameters influencing efficient adsorption of CR and DB species viz. initial pH of dye solution, adsorbent dosage, incubation temperature and initial concentration of dye species were optimised. Sorbate-sorbent interaction studies for single adsorptive system revealed sorbate's monolayer formation over adsorbent's surface and the involvement of chemisorption, as verified by Langmuir isotherm model and pseudo-second order model, respectively. Langmuir maximum adsorption capacity of the adsorbent was 555.56 mg/g for CR and 625.00 mg/g for DB. Meanwhile, for binary adsorptive system, competitive Langmuir model verified both CR and DB had antagonistic/competitive effect over each other's adsorption. Thermodynamic analysis revealed the adsorptive process as exothermic, spontaneous and thermodynamically favourable with an elevated degree of dis-orderedness. Co-existing cations and anions has nominal effect on the adsorption capacity of dyes. Recyclability studies verified a modest efficiency of 62.52% for CR and 50.47% for DB species after the end of 4th adsorption-desorption cycle; thus affirming its recyclability potential. Phytotoxic assay affirmed the effectivity of the adsorbent in adsorbing dye species from aqueous solutions using Vigna mungo seeds as the model.
