Abstract
A new class of chiral bifunctional heterogeneous materials composed of Au/Pd nanoparticles and chiral phosphoric acids as active orthogonal catalysts was prepared by utilizing a facile pseudo-suspension co-polymerization method. It was found that this heterogeneous catalyst was capable of facilitating the sequential aerobic oxidation-asymmetric intramolecular aza-Friedel-Crafts reaction between benzyl alcohols and N-aminoethylpyrroles. Moreover, the designed chiral heterogeneous catalyst could be recovered and reused several times without significant loss of activity or enantioselectivity.

Abstract
meso-Cyclopropyl carbaldehydes are treated in the presence of an organocatalyst with sulfenyl and selenyl chlorides to afford 1,3-chlorochalcogenated products. The transformation is achieved by a merged iminium-enamine activation. The enantioselective desymmetrization reaction, leading to three adjacent stereocenters, furnished the target products in complete regioselectivity and moderate to high diastereo- and enantioselectivities (d.r. up to 15:1 and e.r. up to 93:7).

Abstract
(−)-Ambrox is recognised as the prototype of all ambergris odorants. Widely used in perfumery, (−)-Ambrox is an important ingredient due to its unique scent and excellent fixative function. An environmentally friendly and practical preparation of (−)-Ambrox is still unavailable at present although a lot of attention has been paid to this hot research topic for many years. A one-pot synthesis of (−)-Ambrox was studied starting from (−)-sclareol through oxidation with hydrogen peroxide in the presence of a quaternary ammonium phosphomolybdate catalyst {[C5H5NC16H33] [H2PMo12O40]}, which gave the product a 20% overall yield.

Abstract
The first total synthesis of RQN-18690A (18-deoxyherboxidiene) and the determination of its absolute stereochemical configuration are described. The synthesis features an organocatalytic aldol reaction for the first step, 1,4- and 1,2- dual reductions of α,β-unsaturated δ-lactone followed by a domino reaction in a one-pot operation, and diastereoselective epoxidation with kinetic resolution.

Abstract
Applications of silica-ROMP reagents in a one-pot, sequential protocol have been developed for the synthesis of a variety of diverse benzoxathiazepine 1,1-dioxides. This protocol includes sulfonylation, intramolecular SNAr, alkylation with silica-supported oligomeric benzyl (Si-OBPn) and triazole (Si-OTPn) phosphates, and intermolecular SNAr addition with a number of secondary amines in one-pot to afford a variety of unique benzoxathiazepine 1,1-dioxides sultams in good to excellent yields.

Abstract
The structurally intriguing terpenes pallambins C and D have been assembled in only 11 steps from a cheap commodity chemical: furfuryl alcohol. This synthesis, which features a redox-economic approach free of protecting-group manipulations, assembles all four-ring systems via a sequential cyclization strategy. Of these four-ring constructing operations, two are classical (Robinson annulation and Mukaiyama aldol) and two are newly devised. During the course of this work a method for the difunctionalization of enol ethers was developed, and the scope of this transformation was explored.
