Abstract
A variety of γ-keto-β-silyl esters and amides, most with extremely high enantioselectivities, were efficiently prepared via a carbene-catalyzed formal [4 + 2] annulation followed by ring opening with nucleophiles. The resulting compounds from this one-pot strategy can be easily converted into enantioenriched β,σ-dihydroxyl esters.

Abstract
A nickel-catalyzed reductive cyclization of 1,1-dichloroalkenyl silanes is reported. The products of this reaction are unsaturated five- or six-membered silacycles. Intermolecular variants are also described, providing access to trisubstituted vinyl silanes that are not accessible by alkyne hydrosilylation or sila-Heck-type processes. A variety of silanes can be utilized, including those that serve as nucleophilic partners in Hiyama cross-coupling reactions. Mechanistic studies using deuterium-labelled silanes are described.

Abstract
A rhodium(I)-catalyzed enantioselective silylation of aliphatic C-H bonds for the synthesis of silicon-stereogenic dihydrobenzosiloles is demonstrated. This reaction involves a highly enantioselective intramolecular C(sp3 )-H silylation of dihydrosilanes, followed by a stereospecific intermolecular alkene hydrosilylation leading to the asymmetrically tetrasubstituted silanes. A wide range of dihydrosilanes and alkenes displaying various functional groups are compatible with this process, giving access to a variety of highly functionalized silicon-stereogenic dihydrobenzosiloles in good to excellent yields and enantioselectivities.

Abstract
Transition-metal-catalyzed transformations of the carbon-fluorine bond not only tackle an interesting problem of challenging bond activation but also offer new synthetic strategies where the relatively inert C-F bond is converted to versatile functional groups. Herein we report a practical cobalt-catalyzed silylation of aryl fluorides that uses a cheap electrophilic silicon source with magnesium. This method is compatible with various silicon sources and can be operated under aerobic conditions. Mechanistic studies support the in situ formation of a Grignard reagent, which is captured by the electrophilic silicon source.

Abstract
A novel and unusual palladium-catalyzed [4+2] annulation of cyclopropenes with benzosilacyclobutanes is reported. This reaction occurred through chemoselective Si-C(sp2 ) bond activation in synergy with ring expansion/insertion of cyclopropenes to form new C(sp2 )-C(sp3 ) and Si-C(sp3 ) bonds. An array of previously elusive bicyclic skeleton with high strain, silabicyclo[4.1.0]heptanes, were formed in good yields with excellent diastereoselectivity under mild conditions. An asymmetric version of the reaction with a chiral phosphoramidite ligand furnished a variety of chiral bicyclic silaheterocycle derivatives with good enantioselectivity (up to 95.5:4.5 er). Owing to the mild reaction conditions, the good stereoselectivity profile, and the ready availability of the functionalized precursors, this process constitutes a useful and straightforward strategy for the synthesis of densely functionalized silacycles.

Abstract
An asymmetric retro-[1,4]-Brook rearrangement of 3-silyl allyloxysilanes has been developed via Si-to-C chirality transfer. Mechanistic studies reveal that the silyl group migrates with retention of configuration. The stereochemical outcome of the newly formed stereogenic carbon center, which has remained a longstanding question, is also clarified, suggesting a diastereoselective Si to C chirality transfer without loss of enantiomeric excess.
