Abstract
A new HPLC method for separation and determination of impurities in paracetamol, codeine phosphate hemihydrate and pitophenone hydrochloride in the presence of fenpiverinium bromide in combined suppository dosage form was developed and validated. The separation of paracetamol and its impurities 4-aminophenol, 4-nitrophenol, 4-chloracetanilid; codeine and its impurities methylcodeine, morphine, codeine dimer and 10-hydroxycodeine; pitophenone and its impurities 2-[4-[2-(1-piperidinyl)ethoxy]benzoyl] benzoic acid, 2-[4-[2-(1-piperidinyl)ethoxy]benzoyl]benzoic acid 2-(1-piperidinyl)-ethyl ester, methyl ester of 2-(4-hydroxybenzoyl) benzoic acid and fenpiverinium was achieved by using ion-pair reversed phase liquid chromatography with UV detection. Validation parameters such as the precision, accuracy, linearity, limit of detection (LOD), limit of quantification (LOQ) and robustness were verified for all the mentioned impurities of codeine phosphate hemihydrate and 4-aminophenol and 2-[4-[2-(1-piperidinyl)ethoxy]benzoyl] benzoic acid as the main degradation products of paracetamol and pitophenone hydrochloride, respectively. The described method was found to be useful for analysis of the stability samples and therefore suitable for routine purity testing of the drug product.

Abstract
A highly sensitive and selective method is developed for the simultaneous detection of dopamine (DA) and acetaminophen (AP) by reactive blue-4 (RB4) dye entrapped poly1,5-diaminonaphthalne (polyDAN) composite film layer. The polyDAN-RB4 composite is electrochemically developed at glassy carbon electrode. The polymeric film, characterized by XPS and SEM is able to catalyze the oxidation of DA and AP. Two well-defined oxidation peaks are observed in the differential pulse voltammogram (DPV). The experimental parameters affecting the analytical performance are optimized in terms of RB4 concentration, temperature, and pH. The dynamic range for DA and AP analysis is between 0.1-150 and 0.2-164μM with a detection limit of 0.061±0.002 and 0.083±0.003μM, respectively. The anionic form of the polyDAN-RB4 composite repels common metabolites present in serum and urine, and hence no interference is observed. The effect of AP on the DA concentrations in urine is also studied after the oral administration of a single as well as multiple doses. The DA concentrations have been found to decrease nearly 50±3% after prolonged AP administration.

Abstract
Determination of acetaminophen and its main impurities: 4-nitrophenol, 4'-chloroacetanilide, as well as 4-aminophenol and its degradation products, p-benzoquinone and hydroquinone has been developed and validated by a new high-performance liquid chromatography method. Chromatographic separation has been obtained on a Hypersil Duet C18/SCX column, using gradient elution, with a mixture of phosphate buffer (pH = 4.88) and methanol as a mobile phase. Analysis time did not exceed 14.5 min and good resolutions, peak shapes and asymmetries have resulted. The linearity of the method has been tested in the range of 5.0-60 µg/mL for acetaminophen and 0.5-6 µg/mL for the other compounds. The limits of detection and quantification have been also established to be lower than 0.1 µg/mL and 0.5 µg/mL, respectively. The method has been successfully applied for the analysis of commercial acetaminophen preparations.

Abstract
A chemically modified electrode is constructed based on multiwalled carbon nanotube—modified glassy carbon electrode (MWCNTs/GCE). The measurements were carried out by application of differential pulse voltammetry (DPV), cyclic voltammetry (CV), and chronoamperometry (CA) methods. Application of DPV method showed wide linear range of DA from 1 μM to 540 μM and a detection limit of 0.098 μM (S/N=3). The linear range of PAR of 3 μM to 300 μM and a detection limit of 0.15 μM, were obtained. The modified electrode showed electrochemical responses with high sensitivity, high selectivity, and excellent stability for DA and PAR determination at optimal conditions, which makes it a suitable sensor for simultaneous submicromolar detection of DA and PAR in solutions. The analytical performance of this sensor has been evaluated for detection of DA and PAR in human serum, human urine, and pharmaceutical preparation with satisfactory results.

Abstract
This review summarizes the principle and the developments in MEKC in terms of separation power, sensitivity, and detection approaches more than 25 years after its appearance. Newly used surfactants are mentioned. Classical and new sample concentration techniques in MEKC are described. The different detection approaches in MEKC with advantages, limitations, and future prospects are also discussed. This review highlights the wider application of MEKC in different analytical fields. Various recent selected applications of this technique in different analytical fields are reported.
