Abstract
Pd/bisphosphines complexes are highly effective catalysts for asymmetric hydrogenation of activated imines in trifluoroethanol. The asymmetric hydrogenation of N-diphenylphosphinyl ketimines 3 with Pd(CF3CO2)/(S)-SegPhos indicated 87-99% ee, and N-tosylimines 5 could gave 88-97% ee with Pd(CF3CO2)/(S)-SynPhos as a catalyst. Cyclic N-sulfonylimines 7 and 11 were hydrogenated to afford the useful chiral sultam derivatives in 79-93% ee, which are important organic synthetic intermediates and structural units of agricultural and pharmaceutical agents.

Abstract
Asymmetric reduction of ketimines 1 with trichlorosilane can be catalyzed by N-methylvaline-derived Lewis-basic formamides 3a-d with high enantioselectivity (< or =95% ee) and low catalyst loading (1-5 mol %) at room temperature in toluene. Appending a fluorous tag, as in 5a-c, simplifies the isolation procedure, while preserving high enantioselectivity (< or =92% ee).

Abstract
Easily accessible chiral sulfinamide 2 has been developed as the first highly efficient and enantioselective organocatalyst relying solely on a chiral sulfur center for stereochemical induction. In the presence of 20 mol % of 2, a broad range of N-aryl ketimines 1 were reduced by trichlorosilane to produce amines 3 in high yield and enantioselectivity. [reaction: see text]

Abstract
[reaction: see text] Aryl ketones were reduced to the corresponding alcohols with excellent enantioselectivity (up to 99.7% ee) by Cl3SiH in the presence of a catalytic amount of N-formyl-alpha'-(2,4,6-triethylphenyl)-L-proline as an activator. Both carboxyl group at the alpha-position of the activator and 2,4,6-triethylphenyl group at the alpha'-position were critical for the high enantioselectivity.

Abstract
[reaction: see text] l-Piperazine-2-carboxylic acid derived N-formamides have been developed as highly enantioselective Lewis basic catalysts for the hydrosilylation of N-aryl imines with trichlorosilane. The arene sulfonyl group on N4 was found to be critical for the high enantioselectivity of the catalyst. High isolated yields (up to 99%) and enantioselectivities (up to 97%) were obtained for a broad range of substrates, including aromatic and aliphatic ketimines, particularly those with R(2) as relatively bulky alkyl groups.
