Abstract
Alexei Evgrafovich Favorskii was an outstanding organic chemist who left a great scientific legacy as a result of long time and fruitful work. Most of the theoretically and practically important discoveries of A.E.Favorskii were made in the chemistry of acetylene and its derivatives. Nowadays, the reactions discovered by him, which include acetylene – allene isomerization, the Favorskii and retro-Favorskii reactions, the Favorskii rearrangement and the vinylation reaction, are widely used in industry and in laboratory synthesis. This review summarizes the main scientific achievements of A.E.Favorskii, as well as their development in modern organic chemistry. Much consideration is given to acetylene – allene isomerization as a convenient method for the synthesis of methyl-substituted acetylenes and to the acetylene zipper reaction as a synthetic tool for obtaining terminal acetylenes. The review presents examples of the application of these reactions in modern organic synthesis of complex molecules, including natural compounds and their analogues.
The bibliography includes 266 references.

Abstract
A ligand-promoted iridium-catalyzed transfer hydrogenation of terminal alkynes with ethanol and its application has been developed. Highly chemical selectivity control is achieved based on ligand regulation. 1,2-Bis(diphenylphosphino)ethane was found to be critical for the transfer hydrogenation of alkynes. The general applicability of this procedure is highlighted by the synthesis of 30 terminal alkenes with a good yield. In addition, we conducted drug effect studies of phenelzine using zebrafish as the vertebrate model. Phenelzine shows a significant effect on promoting vascular proliferation and inhibiting nerve growth. The results of these studies have an important reference value for promoting drug research in cerebrovascular diseases, epilepsy, mania, and psychosis.

Abstract
A facile synthesis of Z-enamides via heterogeneous Au/TiO2 catalyzed stereoselective hydrogenation of ynamides has been developed. Easy to handle and inexpensive ammonium formate was used as the hydrogen source, and Z-enamides were formed in a highly stereoselective manner. The commercially available gold nanoparticle catalyst could be recycled multiple times without a significant loss of activity.

Abstract
The reactions of the rhodium(I) and iridium(I) complexes [M(PhBP3 )(C2 H4 )(NCMe)] (PhBP3 =PhB(CH2 PPh2 )3 - ) with alkynes have resulted in the synthesis of a new family of pseudo-tetrahedral complexes, [M(PhBP3 )(RC≡CR')] (M=Rh, Ir), which contain the alkyne as a four-electron donor. The reactions of these unusual compounds with two-electron donors (L=PMe3 , CNtBu) produced a change in the "donicity" of the alkyne from a 4e- to a 2e- donor to give five-coordinate complexes. These were the final products with the iridium complexes, whereas further reactions took place with the rhodium complexes. In particular, C(sp)-H bond activation of the alkyne occurred leading to hydrido alkynyl complexes. This process is essential for the further reactivity of the alkynes, and if the alkyne itself was used as reagent, E-enyne complexes were obtained. As a consequence of this chemistry, we show that the complex [Rh(PhBP3 )(C2 H4 )(NCMe)] is a very efficient pre-catalyst for the regioselective di- and trimerization of terminal alkynes to E-enynes and benzene derivatives, respectively. Interestingly, acetonitrile significantly enhanced the catalytic activity by facilitating the C(sp)-H bond activation step. A hydrometalation mechanism to account for these experimental observations is proposed.
