Abstract
A modular and selective synthesis of mono-, di-, tri-, tetra-, and pentasubstituted pyridines is reported. Hydroamination of alkynes with N-silylamine using a bis(amidate)bis(amido)titanium(IV) precatalyst furnishes the regioselective formation of N-silylenamines. Addition of α,β-unsaturated carbonyls to the crude mixtures followed by oxidation affords 47 examples of pyridines in yields of up to 96%. This synthetic route allows for the synthesis of diverse pyridines containing variable substitution patterns, including pharmaceutically relevant 2,4,5-trisubstituted pyridines, using this one-pot protocol.

Abstract
A redox-economical strategy for the synthesis of trifluoromethylated enamides using copper catalysis is reported. The reaction employs the inexpensive Langlois reagent (CF3SO2Na) and takes place without the need of an external oxidant. The trifluoromethylated enamide products can easily be converted into the corresponding ketone, saturated amide or oxazole.

Abstract
A novel, scalable strategy for the preparation of 2,3,4,6-tetrasubstituted pyridines is described. This protocol has two steps: an aminocatalyzed addition of ketones to alkylidene isoxazol-5-ones, followed by an iron-mediated decarboxylative cyclization event. Mechanistic insights for both steps are provided based on HRMS-ESI(+) studies.

Abstract
An unprecedented domino reaction involving primary enaminones/enaminoesters and aldehydes has been developed for the synthesis of fully substituted pyridines. The construction of the products has been accomplished via the cascade generation of two C-C and one C-N bond by simply using TfOH as a promoter.

Abstract
The totality of chemical space is so immense that only a small fraction can ever be explored. Computational searching has indicated that bioactivity is associated with a comparatively small number of ring-containing structures. Pyrrole, indole, pyridine, quinoline, quinazoline and related 6-membered ring-containing aza-arenes figure prominently. This review focuses on the search for fast, efficient and environmentally friendly preparative methods for these rings with specific emphasis on iminyl radical-mediated procedures. Oxime derivatives, particularly oxime esters and oxime ethers, are attractive precursors for these radicals. Their use is described in conventional thermolytic, microwave-assisted and UV-vis based preparative procedures. Photoredox-catalyzed protocols involving designer oxime ethers are also covered. Choice can be made amongst these synthetic strategies for a wide variety of 5- and 6-membered ring heterocycles including phenanthridine and related aza-arenes. Applications to selected natural products and bioactive molecules, including trispheridine, vasconine, luotonin A and rutaecarpine, are included.
