Abstract
A dual catalytic decarboxylative allylation and benzylation method for the construction of new C(sp3)-C(sp3) bonds between readily available carboxylic acids and functionally diverse carbonate electrophiles has been developed. The new process is mild, operationally simple, and has greatly improved upon the efficiency and generality of previous methodology. In addition, new insights into the reaction mechanism have been realized and provide further understanding of the harnessed reactivity.

Abstract
A transition‐metal‐free carbon isotope exchange procedure on phenyl acetic acids is described. Utilizing the universal precursor CO2, this protocol allows the carbon isotope to be inserted into the carboxylic acid position, with no need of precursor synthesis. This procedure enabled the labeling of 15 pharmaceuticals and was compatible with carbon isotopes [14C] and [13C]. A proof of concept with [11C] was also obtained with low molar activity valuable for distribution studies.

Abstract
A metal-free and efficient procedure for the synthesis of pyrrolo[1,2-a]quinoxalines, quinazolinones, and indolo[1,2-a]quinoxaline has been developed. The key features of our method include the in situ generation of aldehyde from α-hydroxy acid in the presence of TBHP (tert-butyl hydrogen peroxide), and further condensation with various amines, followed by intramolecular cyclization and subsequent oxidation to afford the corresponding quinoxalines, quinazolinones derivatives in moderate to high yields. A TBHP mediated, metal-free approach for the synthesis of quinoxalines, quinazolinones, and indolo quinoxaline was developed from alpha hydroxy acids via decarboxylation followed by condensation.![]()
