Abstract
Iron(0) pentacarbonyl is an organometallic compound with a long history. It undergoes carbonyl displacement chemistry with various donors (L), leading to molecules of the type Fe(CO)x(L)5-x. The work reported here illustrates that Fe(CO)5 can also act as a ligand. The reaction between Fe(CO)5 with the silver salts AgSbF6 and Ag[B{3,5-(CF3)2C6H3}4] under appropriate conditions resulted in the formation of [(μ-H2O)AgFe(CO)5]2[SbF6]2 and [B{3,5-(CF3)2C6H3}4]AgFe(CO)5, respectively, featuring heterobimetallic {Ag-Fe(CO)5}+ fragments. The treatment of [B{3,5-(CF3)2C6H3}4]AgFe(CO)5 with 4,4'-dimethyl-2,2'-bipyridine (Me2Bipy) and Fe(CO)5 afforded a heterobimetallic [(Me2Bipy)AgFe(CO)5][B{3,5-(CF3)2C6H3}4] species with a Ag-Fe(CO)5 bond and a heterotrimetallic [{Fe(CO)5}2(μ-Ag)][B{3,5-(CF3)2C6H3}4] with a (CO)5Fe-Ag-Fe(CO)5 core, respectively, illustrating that it is possible to manipulate the coordination sphere at silver while keeping the Ag-Fe bond intact. The chemistry of [B{3,5-(CF3)2C6H3}4]AgFe(CO)5 with Et2O and PMes3 (Mes = 2,4,6-trimethylphenyl) has also been investigated, which led to [(Et2O)3Ag][B{3,5-(CF3)2C6H3}4] and [(Mes3P)2Ag][B{3,5-(CF3)2C6H3}4] with the displacement of the Fe(CO)5 ligand. X-ray structural and spectroscopic data of new molecules as well as results of computational analyses are presented. The Fe-Ag bond distances of these metal-only Lewis pairs range from 2.5833(4) to 2.6219(5) Å. These Ag-Fe bonds are of primarily an ionic/electrostatic nature with a modest amount of charge transfer between Ag+ and Fe(CO)5. The ν̅(CO) bands of the molecules with Ag-Fe(CO)5 bonds show a notable blue shift relative to those observed for free Fe(CO)5, indicating a significant reduction in Fe→CO back-bonding upon its coordination to silver(I).

Abstract
The monoanionic bidentate ligand [(Ph3B)CH(3,5-(CH3)2Pz)2)]- has been prepared from lithium bis(pyrazolyl)methanide and triphenylborane. This useful new ligand is closely related to the well-established bis(pyrazolyl)borate and bis(pyrazolyl)methane ligands but has key differences to both analogues as well. The ethylene, cis-2-butene, and carbon monoxide adducts [(Ph3B)CH(3,5-(CH3)2Pz)2]Cu(L) (where L = C2H4, cis-CH3HC═CHCH3, and CO) have been prepared from [(Ph3B)CH(3,5-(CH3)2Pz)2)]Li(THF), copper(I) triflate, and the corresponding coligand. These complexes have been characterized by NMR spectroscopy and X-ray crystallography. In all cases the bis(pyrazolyl) moiety is bound in κ2N fashion with the BPh3 group rotated to sit over the metal center, sometimes coordinating to the metal via phenyl carbons as in [(Ph3B)CH(3,5-(CH3)2Pz)2)]Li(THF) and [(Ph3B)CH(3,5-(CH3)2Pz)2]Cu(CO) or simply hovering above the metal site as in [(Ph3B)CH(3,5-(CH3)2Pz)2)]Cu(C2H4) and [(Ph3B)CH(3,5-(CH3)2Pz)2)]Cu(cis-CH3HC═CHCH3). The 13C and 1H resonances of the ethylene carbon and protons of [(Ph3B)CH(3,5-(CH3)2Pz)2)]Cu(C2H4) appear at δ 81.0 and 3.71 ppm in CD2Cl2, respectively. The characteristic CO frequency for [(Ph3B)CH(3,5-(CH3)2Pz)2]Cu(CO) has been observed at υ̅ 2092 cm-1 by infrared spectroscopy and is lower than that of free CO suggesting moderate M → CO π-back-donation. A detailed analysis of these complexes has been presented herein.

Abstract
Tris(pyrazolyl)borates are used extensively in metal coordination chemistry and belong to a class of ligands generally referred to as scorpionates. The steric and electronic properties of these ligands can be modified quite easily by varying the substituents on the 3-, 4-, and 5-positions of the pyrazolyl moieties on the B atom. Fluorinated tris(pyrazolyl)borates are useful in the stabilization of rare silver(I) complexes. The silver(I) adduct (acetonitrile-κN){tris[5-methyl-3-(trifluoromethyl)pyrazol-1-yl-κN2]hydroborato}silver(I), [Ag(C15H13BF9N6)(CH3CN)] or [HB{3-(CF3),5-(CH3)Pz}3]AgNCCH3, was obtained by treating [HB{3-(CF3),5-(CH3)Pz}3]Na with CF3SO3Ag in the presence of acetonitrile, and was isolated in 85% yield. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that the AgI center has a pseudo-tetrahedral all-nitrogen coordination sphere, and is supported by a tris(pyrazolyl)borate ligand that binds to the AgI center in a κ3-fashion.

Abstract
Synthesis and full characterization of cationic isostructural "sandwich" diimine-coinage metal ethylene complexes are reported. Ethylene self-exchange kinetics proceeds by an associative exchange mechanism for Cu and Au complexes. The fastest ligand exchange was observed for Ag complex 8a. The upper limit of ΔG‡, assuming associative ligand exchange, was found to be ca. 5.0 kcal/mol. Ethylene self-exchange in Cu complex 7b proceeds with ΔG298‡ = 12.9 ± 0.1 kcal/mol, while the exchange is the slowest in Au complex 9, with ΔG298‡ = 16.7 ± 0.1 kcal/mol. Copper complex 7b is unusually stable and can survive in air for years.

Abstract
Silver, known and utilized since ancient times, is a coinage metal, which has been widely used for various organic transformations in the past few decades. Currently, the silver-catalyzed reaction is one of the frontier areas in organic chemistry, and the progress of research in this field is very rapid. Compared with other transition metals, silver has long been believed to have low catalytic efficiency, and most commonly, it is used as either a cocatalyst or a Lewis acid. Interestingly, the discovery of Ag-catalysis has been significantly improved in recent years. Especially, Ag(i) has been demonstrated as an important and versatile catalyst for a variety of organic transformations. However, so far, there has been no systematic review on Ag-catalyzed C-H/C-C bond functionalization. In this review, we will focus on the development of Ag-catalyzed C-H/C-C bond functionalization and the corresponding mechanism.

Abstract
Ethyl zinc complexes [N{(C3F7)C(Dipp)N}2]ZnEt, [N{(C3F7)C(Cy)N}2]ZnEt, [N{(CF3)C(2,4,6-Br3C6H2)N}2]ZnEt and [N{(C3F7)C(2,6-Cl2C6H3)N}2]ZnEt have been synthesized from the corresponding 1,3,5-triazapentadiene and diethyl zinc. X-ray data show that [N{(C3F7)C(Dipp)N}2]ZnEt has a distorted trigonal planar geometry at the zinc center. The triazapentadienyl ligand binds to zinc in a κ(2)-mode. The zinc-ethyl bonds of [N{(C3F7)C(Dipp)N}2]ZnEt, [N{(C3F7)C(Cy)N}2]ZnEt, [N{(CF3)C(2,4,6-Br3C6H2)N}2]ZnEt and [N{(C3F7)C(2,6-Cl2C6H3)N}2]ZnEt readily undergo oxygen insertion upon exposure to dry air to produce the corresponding zinc-ethoxy or zinc-ethylperoxy compounds. The ethoxy zinc adducts {[N{(CF3)C(2,4,6-Br3C6H2)N}2]ZnOEt}2 and {[N{(C3F7)C(2,6-Cl2C6H3)N}2]ZnOEt}2 as well as the ethylperoxy zinc adduct {[N{(C3F7)C(Cy)N}2]ZnOOEt}2 have been isolated and fully characterized by several methods including X-ray crystallography. They feature dinuclear structures with four-coordinate zinc sites and bridging-ethoxy or -ethylperoxy groups. The ethyl zinc complexes catalyze the Tishchenko reaction of benzaldehyde under solventless conditions affording benzyl benzoate. The reaction of ethyl zinc complexes with dioxygen and their catalytic behaviour in the Tishchenko reaction are affected by the electronic and steric factors of the triazapentadienyl ligand. {[N{(C3F7)C(Cy)N}2]ZnOOEt}2 is an excellent reagent for the epoxidation of trans-chalcone.

Abstract
The coordination behaviour of hexakis(3-pyridyloxy)cyclophosphazene (L) towards divalent metal ions is described. The reaction of L with hydrated metal nitrates afforded [{N3P3(O-C5H4N-3)6}2{Zn(H2O)3(NO3)}2{Zn(H2O)2(NO3)}2]n[NO3]2n·4nH2O·nCH3OH (1), [{N3P3(O-C5H4N-3)6}2{Zn(H2O)3(NO3)}2{Cu(NO3)}2]n[NO3]2n·4nH2O·nCH3CN (2), [{N3P3(O-C5H4N-3)6}2{(NO3)Cd-(μ-(NO3)-Cd(NO3)2(μ-(NO3)Cd(NO3)}]n·2nCH3OH·3nH2O (3), and [{N3P3(O-C5H4N-3)6}2{Cd(H2O)3(NO3)}2][NO3]2·9H2O (4). 1 and 2 are one-dimensional coordination polymers while 3 is a two-dimensional coordination polymer. On the other hand 4 is a molecular metallamacrocycle. A common feature of 1-4 is the presence of a 20-membered dimetallamacrocyclic motif constructed through the involvement of a pair of cyclophosphazene ligands through their geminal pyridyloxy substituents. The P-N bond distances in L and its metal complexes 1-4 are nearly the same indicating the flexible nature of the coordination pyridyloxy arms present on the cyclophosphazene scaffold.

Abstract
The cationic zinc adduct {[HB(3,5-(CF3)2Pz)3]Zn(NCMe)2}ClO4 catalyzes the functionalization of tertiary, secondary, and primary C-H bonds of alkanes via carbene insertion. Ethyl diazoacetate serves as the :CHCO2Et carbene precursor. The counteranion, supporting ligand, and coordinating solvents affect the catalytic activity. An in situ generated {[HB(3,5-(CF3)2Pz)3]Zn}(+) species containing a bulkier {B[3,5-(CF3)2C6H3]4}(-) anion gives the best results among the zinc catalysts used.

Abstract
The first example of a ferrocene-chelating heteroscorpionate, [Li(THF)2][fc(PPh2)(BH[(3,5-Me)2pz]2)] ((fc(P,B))Li(THF)2, fc = 1,1'-ferrocenediyl) is described. Starting from a previously reported compound, fcBr(PPh2), a series of ferrocene derivatives, fc(PPh2)(B[OMe]2), [Li(OEt2)][fc(PPh2)(BH3)], [Li(THF)2][fc(PPh2)(BH[(3,5-Me)2pz]2)] (pz = pyrazole), was isolated and characterized. Compound (fc(P,B))Li(THF)2 allowed the synthesis of the corresponding nickel and zinc complexes, (fc(P,B))NiCl, (fc(P,B))NiMe, (fc(P,B))ZnCl, and (fc(P,B))ZnMe. All compounds were characterized by NMR spectroscopy, while the zinc and nickel complexes were also characterized by X-ray crystallography. The redox behavior of (fc(P,B))NiCl, (fc(P,B))NiMe, (fc(P,B))ZnCl, and (fc(P,B))ZnMe was studied by cyclic voltammetry and supported by density functional theory calculations.

Abstract
The preparation of a series of imidazolium salts bearing N-allyl substituents, and a range of substituents on the second nitrogen atom that have varying electronic and steric properties, is reported. The ligands have been coordinated to a copper(I) centre and the resulting copper(I)-NHC (NHC=N-heterocyclic carbene) complexes have been thoroughly examined, both in solution and in the solid-state. The solid-state structures are highly diverse and exhibit a range of unusual geometries and cuprophilic interactions. The first structurally characterised copper(I)-NHC complex containing a copper(I)-alkene interaction is reported. An N-pyridyl substituent, which forms a dative bond with the copper(I) centre, stabilises an interaction between the metal centre and the allyl substituent of a neighbouring ligand, to form a 1D coordination polymer. The stabilisation is attributed to the pyridyl substituent increasing the electron density at the copper(I) centre, and thus enhancing the metal(d)-to-alkene(π*) back-bonding. In addition, components other than charge transfer appear to have a role in copper(I)-alkene stabilisation because further increases in the Lewis basicity of the ligand disfavours copper(I)-alkene binding.
