Catalytic Asymmetric Three-Component 1,3-Dipolar Cycloaddition of Aldehydes, Hydrazides, and Alkynes

Enantioselective 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of azomethine imines with propioloylpyrazoles induced by chiral π-cation catalysts

We developed 1,3-dipolar cycloadditions of azomethine imines with propioloylpyrazoles catalyzed by a chiral copper(II) complex of 3-(2-naphthyl)-l-alanine amide. The asymmetric environment created by intramolecular π-cation interaction and the N-alkyl group of the chiral ligand gives the corresponding adducts in high yields with excellent enantioselectivity. This is the first successful method for the catalytic enantioselective 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of azomethine imines with internal alkyne derivatives to give fully substituted pyrazolines.

Regioselective SN2' Mitsunobu reaction of Morita-Baylis-Hillman alcohols: A facile and stereoselective synthesis of α-alkylidene-β-hydrazino acid derivatives

A highly regioselective S_N2' Mitsunobu reaction between Morita–Baylis–Hillman (MBH) alcohols, azodicarboxylates, and triphenylphosphine is developed, which provides an easy access to α-alkylidene-β-hydrazino acid derivatives in high yields and good stereoselectivity. This reaction represents the first direct transformation of MBH alcohols into hydrazines.

One-pot synthesis of polysubstituted 3-acylpyrroles by cooperative catalysis

Polysubstituted 3-acylpyrroles were synthesized from readily available unsaturated ketones and N-substituted propargylated amines via an aza-Michael/alkyne carbocyclization cascade followed by oxidation in one pot.
