Abstract
During our attempts to prepare paddlewheel actinide-molybdenum complexes of the type [(X)An(MesNPR2)3Mo(CO)3] (Mes= 2,4,6-trimethylphenyl; X = Cl or I; An = U or Th; R = iPr or Ph) we have found that under certain conditions acetonitrile insertion reactions occur to give the heterobimetallic bridging ketimido species [ClAn(μ-MesNPiPr2)2(μ-MesNPiPr2{μ-NCMe})Mo(CO)3] (An = U, 1; Th, 2), [ClAn(μ-MesNPPh2)2(μ-MesNPPh2{μ-NCMe})Mo(CO)3] (An = U, 3; An = Th, 4), and [IAn(η2-MesNPiPr2)(μ-MesNPiPr2){μ-NC(Me)N(Mes)PiPr2}Mo(CO)3] (An = U, 5; Th, 6). Structural and spectroscopic data confirm the assignment of a ketimido ligand bridging An(IV) and Mo(0) centers. The isolation of 1-6 is in contrast to our previously reported preparations of [(X)An(MesNPPh2)3Mo(CO)3] (An = U or Th; X= Cl or I; Chem. Commun. 2018, 54, 13515-13518) with the difference in reactivity being attributable to a combination of ancillary phosphino-amide, reaction solvent, and temperature variation. Complexes 1-5 represent the first examples of structurally characterized ketimido-bridged actinide-transition metal linkages and demonstrate the profound differences in reaction outcomes that can occur from relatively minor experimental changes.

Abstract
A series of alkaline-earth (Mg, Ca, and Sr) metallacyclic complexes bearing a diborane-bridged tetraamide ligand were achieved for the first time through a clean one-step approach. All of these metallacycles were characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analyses. UV-Vis absorption/emission spectroscopy showed deep blue fluorescence of these complexes.

Abstract
The boroxide ligand [OBAr2]- (Ar = Mes, Trip) is shown to be able to support both UIII and UIV centres for the first time. The synthesis and structures of homoleptic and heteroleptic UIII and UIV complexes are reported. The UX3 complex with larger substituents, [U(OBTrip2)3]2, exhibits greater thermal stability compared to less encumbered [U(OBMes2)3]2 but reacts with a smaller range of the small molecules tested to date. Initial studies on their capacity to participate in small molecule chemistry show that dark purple [U(OBMes2)3]2 binds and/or reductively activates a variety of small molecules such as pyridine-oxide, triphenylphosphineoxide, sulfur, and dicyclohexylcarbodiimide. While [U(OBMes2)3]2 shows no reaction with CO or CO2, [U(OBTrip2)3]2 is oxidised by both, in the former case forming [U(OBTrip2)4], and in the latter case forming a small quantity of the structurally characterised μ-carbonate product [(μ-CO3){U(OBTrip2)3}2].

Abstract
Recent developments and results from the organometallic chemistry of the actinides are reviewed. In the last one and a half years the structural data of about 15 organometallic complexes of transuranium actinides (Np or Pu) have been published, all involving π-ligands in the coordination sphere of the metal ion. On the basis of these data, a comparison of these molecules is presented. Depending on the steric demands of the ligands, effects like the actinide contraction seem to be stronger or weaker in the structural features. This indicates that the interplay between the actinide ion and the π-ligand is rather flexible, enabling the formation of stable bonds over a broad range of actinide ion oxidation states.

Abstract
All-carbon metallacycles of the d-transition metals have received widespread attention over the past three decades because of their exceptional intrinsic reactivity. However, in recent years, significant progress has also been made in the synthesis and characterization of actinide metallacyclopropenes, metallacyclopentadienes, and metallacyclocumulenes (metallacyclopentatrienes). Such actinide metallacycles are of interest because of their unique structural properties, their potential application in novel group transfer reactions and catalysis, as well as their ability to engage the 5f orbitals in metal-ligand bonding. This short review summarizes the latest developments in this area focusing on all-carbon actinide metallacycles, i.e., metallacyclopropenes, metallacyclopentadienes, and metallacyclocumulenes (metallacyclopentatrienes).

Abstract
Metallacyclopentadienes, which possess two M-C(sp2) bonds and feature the structure of M(C[upper bond 1 start]R1[double bond, length as m-dash]CR2-CR3[double bond, length as m-dash]C[upper bond 1 end]R4), are an important class of five-membered metallacycles. They are considered as both reactive intermediates in the stoichiometric and catalytic transformations of organic molecules and useful precursors to main group element compounds, and have received considerable attention in organometallic chemistry, coordination chemistry and synthetic organic chemistry over the past six decades because of their unique metallacyclic structure. This review comprehensively presents the synthesis, structure and reactivity of the s-, p-, d- and f-block metallacyclopentadienes distributed in the whole periodic table. In addition, their application in synthetic organic chemistry and polymer chemistry is summarized. This review aims to be beneficial for the design and synthesis of novel metallacyclopentadienes, and for promoting the rapid development of metallacyclic chemistry.

Abstract
The reaction of (C5Me5)2AnCl2 (An = Th, U) with 2.8 or 4 equivalents of LiNMe2, respectively, affords (C5Me5)2An(NMe2)2 in high yields. In addition to improved syntheses, the solid-state structures, voltammetric data, and UV-visible-NIR spectra for these classic actinide bis(dimethylamido) complexes are presented for the first time.

Abstract
Bridged bis-alkylidene Sc(iii) complexes featuring a 2-butene-1,1,4,4-tetraanion are synthesized and show unexpected ligand-based two-electron or four-electron reduction reactivity towards different oxidants.
The chemistry of rare-earth carbene and alkylidene complexes including their synthesis, structure and reaction is a challenging issue because of their high reactivity (or instability) and the lack of synthetic methods. In this work, we report the first synthesis of the bridged bis-alkylidene complexes which feature a 2-butene-1,1,4,4-tetraanion and four Sc–C(sp3) bonds by the reaction of 1,4-dilithio-1,3-butadienes with ScCl3. This reaction proceeds via two key intermediates: an isolable scandacyclopentadiene and a proposed scandacyclopropene. The scandacyclopentadiene undergoes β,β′-C–C bond cleavage to generate the scandacyclopropene, which then dimerizes to afford the bridged bis-alkylidene complex via a cooperative double metathesis reaction. Reaction chemistry study of the bridged bis-alkylidene complex reveals their ligand-based reduction reactivity towards different oxidants such as hexachloroethane, disulfide and cyclooctatetraene.
