Abstract
A general stereoselective route to functionalized and substituted tricyclo [5.2.2.0(1,5)]undecenones, tricyclo[6.2.2.0(1,6)]dodecenones, and [3.3.3]- and [4.3.3]propellanes from simple aromatic precursors is reported. The methodology involves generation and cycloaddition of annulated cyclohexa-2,4-dienones with various acrylates followed by manipulation of the resulting tricyclic adducts, leading to functionalized tricyclo[5.2.2.0(1,5)]undecenones and tricyclo[6.2.2.0(1,6)]dodecenones endowed with a beta,gamma-enone chromophore. Photochemical reaction of the tricyclic chromophoric systems followed by reductive cleavage provided an efficient entry into propellanes.

Abstract
A multicomponent reaction between alpha-acidic isonitriles, primary amines, and carbonyl compounds was studied using 14 different solvents. Depending on the isocyanide that was used, optimal yields for the three-component synthesis of 2H-2-imidazolines were observed in different solvents. The solvents could be used as purchased, and in situ preformation of the imine was not required. By selecting the appropriate solvent, it was possible to considerably expand the range of compatible isocyanides toward less alpha-acidic isocyanides. Further process simplification was achieved by performing the reaction at higher concentrations and avoiding purification by column chromatography, resulting in a fast, easy to perform, and resource-efficient protocol for this three-component reaction.

Abstract
Since Bousquet et al. discovered the imidazoline binding sites (IBS) two decades ago, when they realized that the antihypertensive drug clonidine interacts not only with the alpha2-adrenenoceptors (alpha2-AR) but also with a distinct imidazoline preferring binding site, these receptors have been paid a great deal of attention. At least two subtypes, I1 and I2, have been characterised based on their binding affinity for different radioligands, but their structures still remain unknown. The pharmacological profile of these IBSs has been the objective of several and very thorough reviews. However, a medicinal chemistry overview of the different IBS ligands prepared to date has never been attempted. In this study, we attempt to compile all the different chemical structures reported to date as IBS ligands and classify them in function of their chemical structure and binding affinity for the different IBS subtypes. Thus, we comment on the different endogenous IBS ligands known as well as the drugs described to interact with the I1-IBS which have found application as antihypertensive drugs. Then, we review those compounds described in the literature to interact with the I2-IBS, classifying them by their chemical families (imidazolines, guanidines, 2-aminoimidazolines, beta-carbolines). Finally, some conclusions are drawn.

Abstract
A multistep one-pot electrochemical synthesis of a variety of complex 2-alkylamino-1,4-benzoxazine derivatives is described. The reactions are regiospecific and diastereospecific in the case of heterocyclic annulation. This cascade sequence, wherein both cycloaddition partners are generated in situ, at room temperature, under metal-free conditions, allows the inverse-electron-demand Diels-Alder reaction of an o-iminoquinone diene and a secondary alkylenamine dienophile, two chemically nonaccessible unstable entities. To increase the molecular diversity, a variant in which the enamine is separately prepared completes the aforementioned procedure. The extension of this reaction should be useful to generate libraries of heterocycles.
