Abstract
Transition-metal-catalyzed oxidative functionalization of alkenes has emerged as a powerful and valuable tool in modern organic synthesis. Recently, many methods have been established for the assembly of C-C and C-heteroatom bonds, which provides tremendous possibility for application in biology, medicine, and materials science. However, the use of stoichiometric amounts of strong oxidants leads to poor selectivity, low atom economy, and a series of undesired waste products. By contrast, green oxidants, such as O2 , H2 O2 , or tert-butyl hydroperoxide (TBHP), have bright prospects due to their attributes of mild, low cost, and great sustainability in transition-metal-catalyzed oxidation reactions. Based on the great and unique potential for the development of aerobic reactions, this review mainly highlights homogenous palladium-catalyzed green oxidations of alkenes that have been reported in recent years. These methods provide new strategies for the transformation and functionalization of alkenes; some of them have also been successfully applied to the synthesis of the core structures of drugs and natural products. Additionally, through in-depth studies of the reaction mechanisms in this field, it is believed that palladium-catalyzed green oxidation reactions of alkenes with O2 , H2 O2 , or TBHP will create added value for organic synthetic chemistry.

Abstract
We describe a photocatalytic method for the cleavage of vicinal diols to aldehydes and ketones. The reaction is catalyzed by blue light and a cerium-catalyst and the scope includes aryl as well as alkyl substituted diols. The simple protocol which works under air and at room temperature enables the valorization of abundant diols.

Abstract
A novel palladium-catalyzed alkene diacetoxylation with dioxygen (O2) as both the sole oxidant and oxygen source is developed, which was identified by 18O-isotope labeling studies. Control experiments suggested that bis(pinacolato)diboron (B2pin2) played a dominant intermediary role in the formation of a C-O bond. This method performed good functional group tolerance with moderate to excellent yields, which could be successfully applied to the late-stage modification of natural products. Furthermore, an atmospheric pressure of dioxygen enhances the practicability of the protocol.

Abstract
We demonstrate a new approach for the unzipping of single-walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) in an aqueous solution using the transition metal complex PdCl4 2- as a sacrificial chemical scissor and the growth of graphitic-carbon-coated Pd nanoparticles for the electrocatalytic oxidation of formic acid. The chemical unzipping and the growth of Pd nanoparticles involve the spontaneous electron transfer between SWCNT and the metal complex in an aqueous solution at room temperature. The redox potential for SWCNT and PdCl4 2- favors the spontaneous electron transfer reaction. The metal complex, in situ generated Pd nanoparticle, and oxygen play vital role in the oxidative unzipping of SWCNT. The Pd nanoparticles have an average size of 11 nm and are coated with the graphitic carbon layer of unzipped SWCNT (UzCNT-Pd). The Pd nanoparticle of the UzCNT-Pd hybrid material has a large electrochemically active surface area of 2.14 cm2. The hybrid material exhibits excellent electrocatalytic activity toward the oxidation of formic acid. The area and mass specific activity are significantly higher than those of the traditional carbon-supported Pd nanoparticle. The synergistic effect of graphitic carbon and the metal nanoparticles controls the catalytic activity. The confinement of Pd particles inside the graphitic carbon enhances the overall performance of the catalyst.

Abstract
A highly efficient metal free approach for the oxidation of primary and secondary amines to their corresponding aldehydes and ketones using PhI(OAc)2 in combination with a catalytic amount of TEMPO as an oxidizing agent is described. This protocol is rapid and provides diverse products under milder reaction conditions in excellent yields. In addition, the mechanistic study is well demonstrated by spectroscopic methods. A highly efficient, metal free rapid protocol studied mechanistically the oxidation of primary and secondary amines to their corresponding carbonyl compounds using PhI(OAc)2 and catalytic TEMPO to provide diverse products in excellent yields.![]()

Abstract
An oxidative C-C cleavage of aldehydes requiring neither metals nor O2 was discovered. Homobenzylic aldehydes and α-substituted homobenzylic aldehydes were cleaved to benzylic aldehydes and ketones, respectively, using nitrosobenzene as an oxidant. This reaction is chemoselective for aromatic aldehydes, as an aliphatic aldehyde was unreactive under these conditions, and other reactive functionality such as ketones and free alcohols are tolerated. A mechanism accounting for the fate of the lost carbon is proposed.

Abstract
A palladium-catalyzed, environmentally friendly dioxygenation reaction of simple alkenes has been developed that enabled rapid assembly of valuable α-hydroxy ketones with high atom economy. Notably, control experiments and 18O isotope-labeling experiments established that H2O2 played a dominant dual role in this transformation.

Abstract
A binuclear copper complex bearing a simple salicylate ligand catalyses the efficient cleavage of styrenes into ketones and aldehydes with O2 as the oxidant. The reaction works under an atmosphere of O2 (balloon) with 0.5 mol% of catalyst and could be performed on a gram scale, providing an alternative to ozonolysis.

Abstract
An efficient and practical palladium-catalyzed aerobic oxidative approach to afford functionalized 2-substituted quinolines in moderate to good yields from readily available allylbenzenes with aniline is developed. The present annulation process has high functional-group tolerance and high atom economy, making it a valuable and practical method in synthetic and medicinal chemistry. Moreover, this transformation is supposed to proceed through oxidation of allylic C-H functionalization to form C-C and C-N bonds in one pot.

Abstract
We have demonstrated a palladium on carbon-catalyzed approach to regioselectively alter the cleavage sites of the C-C bonds of cinnamaldehyde derivatives by a slight change in the reaction conditions in isopropanol under an O2 atmosphere. Styrene derivatives could be selectively formed by the addition of Na2CO3 in association with the dissociation of carbon monoxide, while benzaldehyde derivatives were generated by the addition of CuCl and morpholine instead of Na2CO3.
