Abstract
In this study, preparation and characterization of a new magnetic propylsulfonic acid-anchored isocyanurate bridging periodic mesoporous organosilica (Iron oxide@PMO-ICS-PrSO3H) is described. The iron oxide@PMO-ICS-PrSO3H nanomaterials were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy and field emission scanning electron microscopy as well as thermogravimetric analysis, N2 adsorption–desorption isotherms and vibrating sample magnetometer techniques. Indeed, the new obtained materials are the first example of the magnetic thermally stable isocyanurate-based mesoporous organosilica solid acid. Furthermore, the catalytic activity of the Iron oxide@PMO-ICS-PrSO3H nanomaterials, as a novel and highly efficient recoverable nanoreactor, was investigated for the sustainable heteroannulation synthesis of imidazopyrimidine derivatives through the Traube–Schwarz multicomponent reaction of 2-aminobenzoimidazole, C‒H acids and diverse aromatic aldehydes. The advantages of this green protocol are low catalyst loading, high to quantitative yields, short reaction times and the catalyst recyclability for at least four consecutive runs.

Abstract
The synthesis of 3-(aryl(piperidin-1-yl)methyl)-4-hydroxyquinolin-2(1H)-one derivatives
via catalyst-free multicomponent reaction is described. The reaction of 4-hydroxyquinolin-2(1H)-one,
piperidine, and 4-chlorobenzaldehyde was carried out in different solvents and under solvent-free conditions
at room temperature. The best solvent in terms of the yield and reaction time was found to be
dichloromethane. Most substituted benzaldehydes reacted with 4-hydroxyquinolin-2(1H)-one and
piperidine to afford corresponding products in good-to-excellent yields. Aldehydes with electronwithdrawing
groups were more reactive to exhibit higher reaction rates. However, 2-substituted benzaldehydes
did not react with 4-hydroxyquinolin-2(1H)-one and piperidine under the reaction condition.
Aldehydes bearing a hydroxyl group failed to produce the corresponding products.

Abstract
Due to special properties of ILs (Ionic Liquids) like their wide liquid range, good solvating ability, negligible vapour pressure, non-inflammability, environment friendly medium, high thermal stability, easy recycling and rate promoters etc. they are used in organic synthesis. The investigation for the replacement of organic solvents in organic synthesis is a growing area of interest due to increasing environmental issues. Therefore, ionic liquids have attracted the attention of chemists and act as a catalyst and reaction medium in organic reaction with high activity. There is no doubt that ionic liquids have become a major subject of study for modern chemistry. In comparison to traditional processes the use of ionic liquids resulted in improved, complimentary or alternative selectivities in organic synthesis. The present manuscript reported the synthesis of multiple nitrogen containing five-membered heterocyclic compounds using ionic liquids. This review covered interesting discoveries in the past few years.

Abstract
Due to special properties of ILs (ionic liquids) like their wide liquid range, good solvating ability, negligible vapour pressure, non-inflammability, environmentfriendly medium, high thermal stability, easy recycling and rate promoters etc. they are used in organic synthesis. Therefore, ionic liquids have attracted the attention of chemists and act as a catalyst and reaction medium in organic reaction with high activity. There is no doubt that ionic liquids have become a major subject of study for modern chemistry. More publications in the field have been observed each year, although there is some evidence that this is beginning to plateau at approximately 3500 papers each year. They have been the subject of several major reviews and books, dealing with different applications and aspects of their behavior. Highly efficient methods are explored for the preparation of six-membered two nitrogen-containing heterocycles with the application of IL as a catalyst and reaction medium from 1893 to 2018.

Abstract
Herein, a combination of heteropolyacids and ionic liquids as a catalytic system was studied for the Biginelli multicomponent reaction; the positive ionic liquid effect associated with the acidic strength of zeolite-supported heteropolyacids made this combination an efficient catalytic system for the multicomponent synthesis of 3,4-dihydropyrimidin-2(1H)-one/thione derivatives. The acidic strength effect was evaluated, and a range was determined in which the reaction provided better results. The mechanism of the reaction was also investigated in the presence and absence of ionic liquids, and two features of paramount importance were revealed: the mechanism could be tuned to proceed through only one reaction path among three possibilities and the kinetics of the reaction was significantly faster in the presence of an ionic liquid. Heteropolyacids and ionic liquid effect allowed tuning of the Biginelli reaction mechanism and synthesis of 3,4-dihydropyrimidin-2(1H)-one/thione derivatives in an efficient, recyclable fashion. The role of acidic strength and supported heteropolyacid is disclosed.![]()

Abstract
The Ugi four component reaction of an aldehyde, amine, isocyanide and an ethanoic acid was effected smoothly in protic ionic liquids ethylammonium nitrate (EAN) and propylammonium nitrate (PAN) to afford analogues of α-phenylacetamido amides in good to excellent isolated yields. The corresponding reactions in [BMIM][PF6] and the protic ionic liquid ethanolammonium nitrate (ETAN) failed. Microwave irradiation in EAN facilitated rapid access to three focused libraries, based on the parent isocyanide: cyclohexyl isocyanide, benzyl isocyanide and ethyl isocyanoacetate. Analysis of the structure activity relationship data suggested the presence of a bulky moiety originating from the isocyanide (cyclohexyl and benzyl) enhanced cytotoxicity. Removal of the acetylenic H-atom from the ethanoic acid moiety was detrimental to cytotoxicity. The most active analogues produced, N-(2-cyclohexylamino)-1-(4-methoxyphenyl)-2-oxoethyl-N-(3,5-dimethoxyphenyl)propiolamide, returned average GI50 values of ≤1 μM across the cancer cell lines evaluated. Combined, these data suggest that analogues of this nature are interesting potential anti-cancer development leads. The Ugi reaction (aldehyde, amine, isocyanide and an ethanoic acid) in the protic ionic liquids ethylammonium nitrate (EAN) and propylammonium nitrate (PAN) gave excellent yields of α-phenylacetamido amides.![]()

Abstract
An efficient, eco-friendly, and highly convergent one-pot route to privileged thiazoloquinolinone derivatives has been developed via four-component cascade coupling (4CCC) of α-enolic dithioesters, cysteamine/2-aminothiophenols, aldehydes, and cyclic 1,3-diketones in recyclable [EMIM][EtSO4] ionic liquid at room temperature for the first time. The reaction proceeds via a N,S-acetal formation, Knoevenagel condensation, aza-ene reaction, imine-enamine/keto-enol tautomerization, and intramolecular N-cyclization cascade sequence. The merit of the protocol is highlighted by its efficacy of forming consecutive five new bonds (two C-C, two C-N, and one C-S) and two rings with all reactants being efficiently utilized. The operational simplicity, sustainability, mild conditions, excellent yields, tolerance of wide functional groups, and avoidance of expensive/toxic reagents are additional attributes to this domino four-component protocol. Notably, the products were easily separated from the ionic liquid, and thus the ionic liquid obtained was reused four times without considerable loss of any activity.
