Tri- and hexanuclear heterometallic Ni(ii)–M(ii) (M = Ca, Sr and Ba) bis(salamo)-type complexes: synthesis, structure and fluorescence properties

Tri- and hexanuclear Ni(ii)–M(ii) (M = Ca, Sr and Ba) complexes have been synthesized and characterized structurally. Fluorescence titration experiments show that the coordinating capabilities in the central O₆ site are in the order of Ca(ii) > Sr(ii) > Ba(ii).

Three Zn(ii)–M(ii) (M = Ca, Sr and Ba) complexes have been synthesized and characterized structurally. Ion competitive experiments show that the coordinating capability in the central O₆ site is in the order of Ca(ii) > Sr(ii) > Ba(ii).
