Abstract
Silver catalyzed acylation of pyridine-N-oxides by α-oxocarboxylic acid is demonstrated. This decarboxylative acylation using a metal catalyst takes place at 50 °C via a radical process.

Abstract
An efficient and straightforward one-pot synthetic protocol has been developed for the synthesis of 3-arylindolizine-1-carboxylates via 1,3-dipolar annulation of 2-(2-nitro-1-arylethyl)malonates with pyridine and subsequent aromatisation in the presence of molecular iodine. The structure of methyl 3-(4-methoxyphenyl)indolizine-1-carboxylate (2a) and methyl 3-iodo-2-(4-nitrophenyl)indolizine-1-carboxylate (2f) was further confirmed by X-ray single crystal analysis.

Abstract
The higher reactivity of C5-H bonds of heteroarenes as compared to C-H bonds of bromopolyfluorobenzenes for palladium-catalyzed direct arylation allows the selective synthesis of the polyfluoroaryl-heteroarenes in moderate to high yields, without C-H bond functionalization of the polyfluorobenzene ring. In most cases, low loading of Pd(OAc)2 catalyst (0.5-1 mol %) was employed. Then, from these heteroarylated polyfluorobenzenes, the palladium-catalyzed C-H bond functionalization of the polyfluorobenzene ring allows the synthesis of heteroarylated polyfluorobiphenyls.

Abstract
A one-pot synthetic method was established for the preparation of 2,5-disubstituted-1,3a,6a-triazapentalenes. The fluorescence observation of the synthetic 2,5-disubstituted-1,3a,6a-triazapentalenes revealed that the introduction of a substituent at the C5 position allowed a substantial change in the fluorescence quantum yield with little effect on the fluorescence wavelength.
