Abstract
To develop a new facile protocol for the synthesis of 2′-aminobenzothiazolo-arylmethyl-2-naphthol derivatives, N-bromosuccinimide (NBS) was used as an efficient catalyst for the one-pot synthesis of 2′-aminobenzothiazolo-arylmethyl-2-naphthols in excellent yields from β-naphthol (1 mmol), aromatic aldehydes (1 mmol), and 2-aminobenzothiazole (1 mmol) at 60°C under solvent-free conditions.

Abstract
A series of novel 1,3,5-triarylpyrazoline derivatives was synthesized by the reaction of chalcone and 5-aryl-2-hydrazinyl-1,3,4-thiadiazole in 43.3-84.7% yields. The structures of compounds were characterized using IR, (1)H NMR and HRMS spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction analysis. The absorption and fluorescence characteristics of the compounds were investigated in dichloromethane, toluene, acetonitrile, N,N-dimethylformamide and tetrahydrofuran. The results showed that the absorption maxima of the compounds vary from 366 to 370nm depending on the group bound to benzene rings. The maximum emission spectra of the compounds in dichloromethane were dependent on nature of groups in benzene ring. Furthermore, the compound 3b can be used to determine Cu(2+) ion with high selectivity and a low detection limit in the DMF:H2O=1:1 (v/v) solution.

Enterococcus faecalisis a Gram-positive commensal inhabitant of the intestinal tract of humans, animals, and insects. However, it is also an opportunistic pathogen and has emerged as a leading cause of hospital-acquired extraintestinal infections. Fluoroquinolones have been frequently used to treatE. faecalisinfections, and the emergence of fluoroquinolone-resistantE. faecalisstrains has recently been reported in several countries. Thus, the identifications of new antibiotics specifically directed toE. faecalismay be envisaged. Abstract
INTRODUCTION Benzothiazole scaffold comprises a bicyclic ring system and is known to exhibit a wide range of biological properties including antimicrobial and anticancer activities. Benzothiazole derivatives have long been therapeutically used for the treatment of various diseases. However, in recent years, 2-arylbenzothiazoles have emerged as an important pharmacophore in the development of antitumor agents. The promising biological profile and synthetic accessibility have been attractive in the design and development of new benzothiazoles and their conjugate systems as potential chemotherapeutics. AREAS COVERED This review mainly focuses on the structural modifications of benzothiazole scaffold, development of various series of benzothiazoles and their conjugates as new antitumor agents. Furthermore, heterocyclic derivatives bearing benzothiazole moiety and their in vitro as well as in vivo screening, structure-activity relationships (SAR), mechanism, pharmacokinetics, clinical use and their future therapeutic applications are discussed here. EXPERT OPINION A large number of benzothiazole derivatives discussed here possess potent anticancer activity and can be further developed as drug candidates. Benzothiazole conjugates could also display synergistic effect and still there is a need to use the drug combinations permitting lower dose and development of new generation of drugs. Despite encouraging results that have been observed for their response to tumor in clinical studies, full characterization of their toxicity is further required for their clinical usage as safe drugs for the treatment of cancer. We believe that this review gives a better understanding and scope for future drug design and development of benzothiazole-based compounds to implicate their use in cancer chemotherapy.

Abstract
Pharmacophore modelling-based virtual screening of compound is a ligand-based approach and is useful when the 3D structure of target is not available but a few known active compounds are known. Pharmacophore mapping studies were undertaken for a set of 50 N(3)-phenylpyrazinones possessing Corticotropin-releasing Factor 1 (CRF 1) antagonistic activity. Six point pharmacophores with two hydrogen bond acceptors, one hydrogen bond donor, two hydrophobic regions, and one aromatic ring as pharmacophoric features were developed. Amongst them the pharmacophore hypothesis AADHHR.47 yielded a statistically significant 3D-QSAR model with 0.803 as R (2) value and was considered to be the best pharmacophore hypothesis. The developed pharmacophore model was externally validated by predicting the activity of test set molecules. The squared predictive correlation coefficient of 0.91 was observed between experimental and predicted activity values of test set molecules. The geometry and features of pharmacophore were expected to be useful for the design of selective CRF 1 receptor antagonists.

Abstract
In the title compound, C24H15Cl2N3O3, the C=C double bond is E configured. The 1-phenyl-1H-pyrazole moiety is roughly planar (r.m.s. deviation of all fitted non-H atoms = 0.0780 Å), but the mean planes of the two components are inclined at an angle of 9.95 (7)°. The mean plane defined by the non-H atoms of the 1H-pyrazole ring encloses angles of 9.95 (7), 24.54 (6) and 43.02 (6)° with the mean planes of the different benzene rings. In the crystal, C—H⋯O contacts are present and result in the formation of a double-layer two-dimensional network lying parallel to (110). The shortest intercentroid distance between two aromatic systems is 3.5455 (7) Å and is apparent between two pyrazole systems. Further π–π interactions are manifest between a pair of 4-nitrophenyl rings [centroid-to-centroid distance = 3.6443 (7) Å] and a pair of 2,4-dichlorophenyl rings [centroid-to-centroid distance = 3.7797 (7) Å].

Abstract
Benzothiazolyl thiocarbamides has been achieved using a catalytic amount of 4-dimethylaminopyridine (DMAP) followed by its chemoselective oxidative cyclization with 1,3-di-n-butylimidazolium tribromide[bbim][Br(3)] to afford the N-bis-benzothiazole derivatives. All the synthesized compounds were evaluated for cytotoxic activity against two human monocytic cell lines (U 937, THP-1) and a mouse melanoma cell line (B16-F10). Based on their IC(50) values, the majority of the benzothiazolyl thiocarbamides and N-bis-benzothiazoles had significant antiproliferative activity on U 937 and B16-F10 cells, the compounds 3b, 3e, 3f, 3k, 6c and 6h were found to be the most active. The present findings indicate clearly that the compound 3e exhibited more antiproliferative activity on U 937 cells than the standard molecule, etoposide. Nevertheless, these compounds have shown comparatively less cytotoxicity towards THP-1 cells.
