Abstract
Simple one-pot methods for preparation of 2-oxazolines have been developed using 4-(4,6-dimethoxy-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl)-4-methylmorpholinium chloride (DMT-MM). Treatment of a mixture of carboxylic acids and 2-haloethylammonium salts with DMT-MM in methanol followed by refluxing in the presence of KOH gives oxazolines.

Abstract
Metal-free one-pot oxidative amidation of aldoses with functionalized amines using iodine provides a rapid access to functionalized aldonamides. The main advantage of this approach relies on the fact that aldehyde oxidation and C-N bond formation are performed in a single synthetic operation.

Abstract
The title compound, C(12)H(10)N(2)O, is approximately planar. The angle between the quinoline and 4,5-dihydro-oxazole ring systems is 11.91 (12)°. The mol-ecules pack into a herringbone array with no significant π-π inter-actions. The dihydro-oxazole N and O atoms are disordered over two positions, with almost equal site occupancy factors.

Abstract
A multicomponent reaction between alpha-acidic isonitriles, primary amines, and carbonyl compounds was studied using 14 different solvents. Depending on the isocyanide that was used, optimal yields for the three-component synthesis of 2H-2-imidazolines were observed in different solvents. The solvents could be used as purchased, and in situ preformation of the imine was not required. By selecting the appropriate solvent, it was possible to considerably expand the range of compatible isocyanides toward less alpha-acidic isocyanides. Further process simplification was achieved by performing the reaction at higher concentrations and avoiding purification by column chromatography, resulting in a fast, easy to perform, and resource-efficient protocol for this three-component reaction.
